The House We Live In - Happy Fourth of July from Age of Autism

Eagle Patriot

Today, on this Fourth of July in the USA, I want to share
The House I Live In (That's America To Me,  recorded in 1974 at The Boston Garden (my hometown) by Frank Sinatra. Originally from the 1945 movie of the same name. The movie was supposed to bring the nation together.

What is America to me?
A name, a map, or a flag I see?
A certain word, "democracy"?
What is America to me?

The house I live in, a plot of earth, a street
The grocer and the butcher, and the people that I meet
The children in the playground, the faces that I see
All races and religions, that's America to me

The place I work in, the worker by my side
The little town or city where my people lived and died
The "howdy" and the handshake, the air of feeling free
And the right to speak my mind out, that's America to me

The things I see about me, the big things and the small
The little corner newsstand and the house a mile tall
The wedding in the churchyard, the laughter and the tears
The dream that's been a-growin' for a hundred and fifty years

The town I live in, the street, the house, the room
The pavement of the city, or a garden all in bloom
The church, the school, the clubhouse, the millions lights I see
But especially the people
That's America to me

That America no longer exists. July 4 is more like a memorial day than a birth day celebration. Born July 4, 1776, Died March 11, 2020. RIP.

But hey, watch the fireworks Made in China, wave the Chinese made American Flag. Don't forget to take off your mask to eat, and don't look to watch a ball game on TV. Pffft

Thank you for providing me with six minutes of pure joy in listening to Sinatra singing "The House I Live In" …. amazing how those lyrics still stir my heart in my love for my country, my family, my home, my community here at AoA.

If you have a few moments to spare … two and a half minutes .. and you enjoyed Sinatra .. is a long ago program hosted by John Wayne featuring MANY celebrities that are no longer with us .. celebrating America's history .. enjoy:
