Update: We've had some comments from readers, new or not, who think this piece is an affront to families of children with heart issues. If you are a regular, you know us better. I hope. We have never created a pecking order for autism or any other condition. But our kids are always at the bottom of the media pecking order. And perhaps it's my fault for not going back to the drawing board on this post, which I will do here. We have AofA families whose children have dual diagnoses - autism and Down Syndrome, for example. And heart issues are a major, lifelong issue. In America, our surgeons are heroes. They can repair bones and organs. Perhaps not to perfection, but to functioning and to make life better for patients. Funny, I wrote a post about this:

When Kimmel's son was born, he had a heart condition and needed surgery. Kimmel, known for his on screen blubbering at the drop of a hat, cried a river over his son's plight.
We commiserate.
Most of us have cried oceans over our children, whose vaccine injury is not repairable by a skilled surgeon, and whose effects have shunted their lives off their appointed track to that of the seriously disabled. We live with rivers of tears AND diarrhea, mountains of soiled bedsheets, and lakes of drool from seizures. Our fields of dreams for our children lie fallow.
Remember friends, the only group with 24/7/365 open season are parents of vax injured kids. Bully us? And how! Make fun of us? Don't mind if I do! Dismiss our sick kids? Boy howdy what fun! Jimmy is such a comedian. He talks about his wife Molly's smelly feet on Howard Stern. Ha ha!! How'd you like to have a wife taking care of three kids with autism, Jimmy? Imagine the laughs there?
Kimmel should never know the pain we feel. His fears for his son pale against our agony, which is like his PLUS the horror of being called liars and shamed at every turn. We have no miracle surgeons. We have no treatments. We have no cure. And we get no respect. But that's a real comedian's line.

Looked it up, and just no! Even if it was helpful and it is not, it causes bad side effects that if you keep going gets really dangerous, the quantities are too large to be benign. Take your own advice - literally any medication either alternative or approved is poison in too high doses, and demand as much testing as you want for vaccines for this. Yes, “natural" means nothing - agree with you there. Welcome to the dark side of "cure" by internet.
Again, AoA, be responsible. Can't even pretend to be credible on vaccine "safety" and let this go.
Ok, shocked, and done. But please, all kids with autism deserve open minds. It is so easy to get overtired and not think straight. But have to snap out of it, drop the anger and really think hard of all the possible alternatives without pre-judgement and blame. Otherwise we miss out on so much good information that does help.

I don't agree with your black and white attitude. The poison is often in the amount. Probably all pharmaceuticals are poisons, many were originally from natural sources like plants, and on the other hand there are herbal or homeopathic remedies which will not do you any harm. Practitioners who prescribe such treatments are not MDs, certainly not in the UK, but they are permitted to practice these alternative health systems. The comment from Eileen stated that people should do their own research, which sounds like safe advice to me.

Read sites with different emphasis to see other perspectives. It's why I am reading this site. More information is always good. Plenty of doctors do care and are not corrupt that can treat our kids with respect. If a "cure" is promoted by someone without a valid MD, just run from it. Seriously, if you are worried about "toxins" in vaccines, but ok with this.... think! The toxins were out a long time ago, and you're getting more every day just driving in traffic anyway. Have to step back and really think through the logic of it all, not what someone tells you that sounds like a saviour. They are selling something. Sometimes when insurance doesn't cover it, there is a really good reason behind it. It isn't always "corrupt" intent. Have to think of all the alternative possibilities for something to be happening, as my wise dad always said.
There is no quick fix, giving them the gift of time (a lot of time!) is the one intervention I have found that really works. On hindsight, "Just love them through it" was the best advice I ever had from a mom with a child more severe than mine.

I just wanted to clarify:
I am a long time advocate for families of children with severe autism and for families who truly know their kids were victims of vaccines. All of these parents and families are some of the most well informed and intelligent people I have ever met with regards to this topic so what the government has done by forcing vaccines upon these families truly sickens me.
In order to fight these mandates I think it is vital to stand together however I do understand why some can not or choose not to do so. Keep in mind, however, by doing so Big Pharma, politicians, etc. win because they know they are breaking down these families and getting exactly what they want.... fully vaccinated kids, some kind of sick communistic type control over parents and more money in Big Pharma's pockets.
I liken it to fighting a war with one hand tied behind your back.
If we don't stand together we will lose. That being said, I sadly believe the fight is not worth it any longer as it is impossible to unite on this fight due to these reasons you stated. Many families feel trapped and have no choice. What a horrible feeling for them all.
As an advocate I am going to begin telling any family who asks what they can do in states such as NY and others is to simply follow the orders and vaccinate. Families are already stressed to the max and have so many concerns regarding education, schools following IEP's, their kids getting FAPE and so on that I feel that to add more stress to a fight they can never win is too much for them.
I am also signing off as an advocate for any new family as I feel there really is little hope in the vaccine mandate arena.
I continue to hope that somehow the kids who were vaccine affected from early childhood are spared more damage from the current mandated booster laws.

Be careful of CT because they are right on the heals of NY from what I understand. Not sure what is happening in NJ but maybe check into their vaccine law status. Good luck and keep your kids away from these government mandates.
Frankly I am shocked and saddened by the so called past warrior moms/dads who have caved in NY and re vaccinated just so they can keep their kids in some school or residential. They have made it even more difficult for other parents and this issue of forced vaccination to be taken seriously.

It sounds like from your post that you have unwittingly fallen victim to the lies perpetrated by the medical and media industrial complex. Pharma, media outlets (beholding to pharma with their drug ads) and doctors organizations (propped up with the dues and malpractice insurance fees from doctors) have waged a relentless campaign to have the average, unsuspecting citizen to think AUTISM when they hear someone talk about VACCINE INJURY. The fact is the guy who organized the flash mob on the Jimmy Kimmel show is the father of a young man who has vaccine-induced transverse myelitis. His son, who at the time was a typically developing 17 month old, woke up after his round of vaccines and could no longer walk. He now moves around through use of a wheelchair. As an occupational therapist, I worked with two students who, after 20 minutes of receiving their DPT vaccine went into uncontrolled seizures, as documented by their pediatricians. This resulted in both of them becoming blind. In addition, although one of them displayed behaviors that were textbook autism-like, the other developed cerebral palsy with spastic diplegia (all 4 limbs are affected). Just as you want us to become educated about other diagnosis, please acquaint yourself with the list of injuries our government has paid out over 4 and a half BILLION dollars for through the Vaccine Injury Compensation Program. And yes, autism is on that list. And, unfortunately, death is also on that list of compensated VACCINE INJURIES.

When Kimmel lost weight, his ego grew - and along the way to talk-show stardom, he lost some of his humanity.
Does he have compassion fatigue? Is he deluded about the realities of vaccine adverse reactions? Or is he following the orders of corporate masters loyal to pharma advertisers?

I guess Age of Autism reader have not sympathy for children or their parents if they have disabilities other than autism. You have no idea what Mr Kimmel or his child is going through. Most people with congenital heart defects have other significant health problems and developmental disbilities beyond their heart defect. I have Neurofibromatosis and 'Asperger's" syndrome. I have lost friends to rare cancers and heart defects caused or worsened by NF. Does anybody care to look NeuroFibromatosis up?! What about Fragile X, Tuberous Sclerosis, Lisch Neehan's diseases, Rhett syndrome, Van Hippel Lindau disease. Look these up "autism" parents an have sympathy. IQ does not determine the severity of a disability nor does fecal incontinence. Young adults with other disabilities (Blind, Deaf, mild ID, NF whatever) are sitting at home bored and unemployed regardless of their IQ or whether they wear diapers and have seizures. They are not counted in the workforce so therefore not considered in the unemployment statistic.

Great demonstration but as a mother of a child who has both a congenital heart defect and vaccine injured I don’t think comparing the two as one “easier” to deal with fair. Heart defects are never “fixed”. My child’s heart even with the best surgeon in the world will never be healed or normal. Constantly watching, medications, surgeries as the heart grows are needed. I believe that the vaccines broke down the artificial valve my daughter has requiring her 2nd open heart surgery. You think and worry daily about their HEART. I hope he opens his eyes because as a heart parent these kids go through a lot of medical treatments, cumulatively very toxic lives with all the interventions needed.

I’m trying not to panic, guys. Just learned this week that my corrupt Albany politicians are finally plotting the inevitable next salvo, even faster than I thought... outlawing homeschooling completely in New York State.
No actual bills yet, but as we saw in June they can ram something through pretty quickly here when there’s no parental or public input. If this comes to pass - and there’s nothing to stop them so there’s a good chance of it - unless I can somehow stall them until the bums are voted out and it’s repealed, I’ll have to move. Leave my happy NYC neighborhood, born and raised in Queens... I always thought we’d grow old and die here. But not if Governor Andrew Cuomo is putting a gun to our heads. Even my kids would rather leave than be poisoned... again. I may not be so lucky to recover them twice. We already dodged those bullets once. And they’ll be at risk of that if they go back to school for even one day, where they’re out of my sight; except they couldn’t get back in anyway since they’re not vaxxed. Which would mean “educational neglect” to the state.
We have no connection to anyone or anything outside the NY/NJ/CT tri state area; besides I’d have to stay within a short driving distance of my & my middle brother’s family business, my elderly mother and my autistic adult younger brother. I could reach the Connecticut panhandle in about 30 minutes. New Jersey would probably be too much of a commute from where we are. I’d probably have to homeschool in CT too regardless, but that’s fine. As long as they don’t outlaw it! My youngest is only in kindergarten.
If this does happen at all it’ll likely happen fast, like within 6 months (& before re-elections), to pressure parents into panicking and giving up their kids to govt schools. Which means we’d need to have a Plan B ready to go right away for the mass exodus.
Kim, and especially anyone else from Connecticut... any two cents to offer? Anyone know anything about the town of Cos Cob? Any other advice? Please spread the word as vigilance is key.
