Oregon Senator Sara Gelser Bullies Vaccine Injured Constituents

0D2FECA1-47E0-4D40-A466-BE0A54CF9E19 Thanks to JB Handley, who lives in Oregon, for sharing this info on his FB page.

Check out this cartoon that has been around for a w hile now. Ha! Ha! Let's make fun of autism vaccine injury. It's like a bad joke: a mermaid, a leprachaun, a Yeti and a Unicorn walk into a pediatrician's office and....

Now imagine a legislator sharing this cartoon on social media. We present, Oregon State Senator Sara Gelser. Ms. Gelser filed a sexual harassment suit against Senator Jeff Kruse in the Fall of 2017. Would she ever want to see a cartoon making fun of and outright ridiculing sexual harassment posted by someone who has the power to make rules for her life? I think not. #MeToo has been pretty rough on us overall, denying Mothers of vaccine injured children, including daughters like my own, a right to inclusion.  See Joshua Coleman's experience in California last week, when he was escorted out of a rally by armed offices for carrying this sign:

Womens March 2a_DxOFP
Senator Gesler tried to back paddle on Facebook by quoting from a Neurodiversity group.  Hardly effective.

It's wrong to make fun of our children's plight. It's plain old bullying. And harassment. And it needs to stop.

Curt Watkins, MD. This 2015 article by Donald W Miller Jr., MD explains pros and cons of vaccinating against measles, so much better than did!

If you do genuinely care about the health of our children, please take 10 minutes to read it. It is very balanced.

Donna L.

@ Curt Watkins
I suggest you spend some time around kids with MMR vaccine-induced autism. All those scary effects of measles you've mentioned: acute encephalitis, permanent brain damage, respiratory and neurological complications, behavioral and intellectual deterioration and seizures? We've got those in spades. You've just described basic everyday life for most of us here with vaccine-injured kids/now adults. The only difference is that when those effects come from measles, it qualifies as a full-blown media flip out/national emergency/ the-sky-is-falling crisis. But when those same effects are the result of the MMR vaccine, we get a blue light bulb in April, a puzzle piece ribbon, and the royal shaft from the medical profession. Work on changing THAT and perhaps you might see more parents willing to risk their children's health on vaccination.

Curt Watkins, MD

I am assuming your fears are genuine and that you truly believe the comments you make. I would like to make several points and apologise if this response is a little disjointed. Also, (not being very tech savvy) I am unable to copy/paste more than one link at a time, so have had to merely name my sources.
You say 'those who become ill will be the most vulnerable.....' Unfortunately, you are right inasmuch as babies are now more susceptible because:

'Children of mothers vaccinated against measles have lower concentrations of maternal antibodies and have less protection by natural antibodies at an earlier age than children in communities that oppose vaccination' (Journal of Infectious Disease Vol. 208 July 2013)
As well as children, of course, adults are now more susceptible to measles, because natural immunity from wild measles has been replaced by temporary immunity from the vaccine.

As far as the immune compromised are concerned, this is a new phenomenon that barely existed in the pre-vaccine days.

You say measles are highly contagious and, again, you are right. It was highly contagious for my generation (1940s/50s) and my sons' generation (1960s/70s). Our generations had all the childhood diseases, with only the discomfort for a week or so that goes with them and emerged with great, lifelong immunity. Our good health was taken for granted. Those generations have had none of the health issues of the current one.

Also, I understand, many of the people who have contracted measles in Washington had been vaccinated.

The CDC data for Washington and Oregon show immunization rates have been flat since 1995. I know that the media are reporting that rates have dropped, but if you check out J.B. Handley's very recent Facebook posts he shows proof that there has been no drop in vaccination rates.

You say that it is 'crass' to say 'nobody has died....' Again, you are right. There have been 2 deaths from measles in the U.S between 2004-2015 (CDC). However, in that same period there were 127 deaths due to MMR (VAERS, which is notably under-reported)

You also cite 1 in 1,000 may suffer acute encephalitis from measles. We cannot know how many suffer the same from the MMR. However, since the autism rate has increased from 1:10,000 in late 1970s to 1:36 now, we may assume that the rate is extremely high, as encephalitis often results in autism.

Certainly, my grandson is on of that number. Another grandson did not have an immediate effect: his regression was slower, his quality of life is just as dire.

In summary, I would be grateful if you could, please, research a little more and be a little less judgemental. There are 2 sides to this debate. The lives of my family have been devastated by the effects and vaccines and, from all the books I have read and the research I have done, I can only conclude that the generations before the bloated vaccine schedule/multiple shots, were – and are – far healthier than today's generation.

HI Dr Watkins, Like Grace Green, I also had measles as a child, a week or so in bed and it was over. In our generation, parents were scared of polio, but not of measles. measles infection was encouraged to happen when we were kids at school, so that we could all have lifelong immunity. Is it true also, that natural measles infection provides life long protection against some cancers?
It is telling that in the many articles that are being written about measles, no one is mentioning Vitamin A deficiency being linked to serious measles infections.
As this pubmed link shows it is considered basic medical knowledge by the World Health Organization. Why isn't it being mentioned by all the "concerned doctors" in the news?
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/11869601

"Vitamin A deficiency is a recognised risk factor for severe measles. The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends administration of an oral dose of 200,000 IU (or 100,000 IU in infants) of vitamin A per day for two days to children with measles in areas where vitamin A deficiency may be present."
Vitamin A for treating measles in children. - NCBI

And as you probably know, brain damage, SSPE and death are all also side effects of the MMR vaccine.
here is a website that may be of interest to you.
https://hopefromholly.wordpress.com/2010/06/06/hope-from-holly/

Holly Stavola died at 5 years old following her second MMR. The MMR was acknowledged as the cause, and her family worked to get a law passed in New Jersey allowing titres to be used to prove immunity instead of requiring a second MMR.
Yet no one is mentioning that the vaccine will occasionally kill. From where I am sitting, their is only one side of the equation being mentioned, and it is not the vaccine injury side.

michael

"The folks here at AoA like to talk about vaccine risks. But that is only half of the equation." Dr. Watkins do you think there is an opportunity for a discussion about vaccines which is broader than the "halves of the equation" that you refer?

Grace Green

Dr. Watkins,
I'm guessing you're a lot younger than I am! Many of us who contribute to this website were children in the days before the existence of the measles vaccination. We ALL got the measles at about the age of 5 or 6, as there was an epidemic every few years. We LOVED missing two weeks of school (our mothers were at home anyway) and soon caught up when we went back. NOBODY that we knew, either at school or among our friends, relatives or congregations, was made permanently ill by the infection. Perhaps I lived in a "middle class" area, as it's known that the children most likely to fare badly from a routine childhood illness would be those living in poverty or not cared for adequately. Perhaps a better solution to the problem would be to lift people out of poverty, and educate them about how to look after sick children? The same people who, like me, suffered no ill effects from a measles infection have seen their children, nephews, nieces, friends' children, suffer severe life-long disability from the measles, and other, vaccines. We are starting to use our common sense, and vote with our feet. I'm sorry if this will do you out of a job. If you would open your mind you could possibly become a much-needed alternative practitioner as people start seeking the means to live healthier lives.

Curt Watkins

In reply to Bill ,

I'm glad you brought up the Washington Measles outbreak. Everyone here will quickly point out the hazards of vaccinating. When measles is not around, it is easy to forget that refusing the measles vaccine has a downside. The downside is now becoming apparent to those in Washington and beyond.

Nobody claims vaccines are 100% effective. For measles, the vaccine is 95% effective with one dose and 99% effective with two doses. If 500 vaccinated people are exposed, then it is to be expected that 5 of them will fall ill. Sadly, some of those those who become ill will be the most vulnerable: young infants and persons with compromised immune systems.

Because measles is HIGHLY contagious, it is able to sustain transmission if vaccination coverage falls much below 95% or so. Because of high personal exemption rates, Washington and Oregon have vaccination coverage rates that allow the virus to spread. The current outbreak is a DIRECT result of low vaccination rates and not because of vaccination failures. Every outbreak that has occurred in this country for the last 20 years has popped up in a community with low vaccine coverage.

Your statement that "NOBODY has, or is likely to, die!...." is extremely crass. I must assume you haven't thought about this much, because I cannot imagine that you would be so indifferent to the suffering that occurs when measles causes encephalitis or death. Would you get on an airplane if it had a 1 in 1000 chance of crashing?

Data from the CDC
One out of every 1,000 measles cases will develop acute encephalitis, which often results in permanent brain damage.
One or two out of every 1,000 children who become infected with measles will die from respiratory and neurologic complications.
Subacute sclerosing panencephalitis (SSPE) is a rare, but fatal degenerative disease of the central nervous system characterized by behavioral and intellectual deterioration and seizures that generally develop 7 to 10 years after measles infection.

And these statistics don't include the suffering from hospitalization rates as high as 10%. Forget the poor kids missing school for two weeks, home with high fevers, sweats, rash, and general misery.

The folks here at AoA like to talk about vaccine risks. But that is only half of the equation. Benefits need to be discussed as well and the Washington measles outbreak is an opportunity to point out that vaccines do prevent some pretty miserable illnesses.

Curt Watkins MD.

@Annie -

I agree with you that the Democratic party has failed vaccine injured children.

But I don't see that the Republican party has done much either. Trump appointed pro-vax agency heads to HHS, FDA, and CDC. He appointed Betsy DeVos (who didn't even know what an IEP was and wasn't familiar with IDEA) to head Education. The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee (until very recently) has been Republican-chaired and Republican majority, yet no action was ever taken to review CDC, the whistleblower issue, that travesty called Vaccine Court, IACC (which costs over $1.3 million tax dollars per year to run) etc. Former Justice Antonin Scalia gave us the Bruesewitz decision.

I know that Trump supporters say at least he has spoken out. Well, not often, and not effectively, from what I've read. He has the world's largest Twitter following. Why doesn't he use that? And Jill Stein, former presidential candidate and medical doctor, spoke out too. Occasional members of both parties have spoken out. But talk is cheap, and after twenty five years in the autism trenches with a profoundly impaired son, I am sick of talk. I want action.

I want both parties and the media (liberal, conservative, and alternative) to be held accountable for their lack of action.

If neurodiversity was usually positive and good, the neurodiverse wouldn't be constrained to insist that it's been constant through human history, completely natural and inevitable. Wouldn't they be looking for the radioactive spider which would further enhance their superpowers?

From this article: http://blog.oregonlive.com/teen/2008/06/a_voice_in_the_house_for_the_v.html

At Gelser's house, framed pictures littered the fireplace mantle. Inspirational sayings bathed the walls: "Do onto others as you would want them to do to you," "Love," "Hope" and "Dream." The smell of freshly baked almond cookies wafted through the dining room.

Maybe she should revisit her signs.

That Senator Gelser is the Democratic Party’s example of an advocate for women and the disabled, is so sadly indicative of how far removed from the realities that too many Mothers of disabled children live with, the Democratic Party is. Anyone know Howard Schultz’s position on vaccine mandates? The reality of vaccine-induced autism? The devastation the measles is wreaking on America as it compares to Autism? I just don’t think I can take another election cycle of Democratic, bubble dwelling, vaccine injury denialism vrs. P-grabbing, family separating, climate change denialism.

Barry

I think we are in second stage. After the third stage, there will be a Warning listed on every vaccine: "Vaccine may cause Autism and/or a serious brain injury."

******

Or cancer, or SIDS, or life threatening food allergies, or acute disseminated encephalomyelitis, or diabetes, or arthritis, or lupus, or Guillain–Barré syndrome, or celiac disease, or chronic fatigue syndrome, or chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy, or fibromyalgia, or........

After the third stage, there will be no vaccines to warn the public about.

Because by that time, the psychopaths responsible for these egregious concoctions will have long since been hung for their crimes against humanity.

Sen. Sara Gelser has a son with a disability (FG syndrome) and three daughters.
https://politicsoffthegrid.wordpress.com/2008/09/08/women-work-and-family-in-politics/

“Rain Man” Kim Peek may have FG syndrome, which occurs mostly in males and was first reported in 1974. Symptoms include hypotonia, brain tissue abnormalities, language deficits, and a variety of atypical physical features and structural defects.
https://ghr.nlm.nih.gov/condition/fg-syndrome#synonyms

Likely Sen. Gelser spent considerable time reading articles on her son’s genetic disorder, which may be static. Contrast that with vaccine-induced autism, for which treatments abound and recovery may be possible. Perhaps her mind can’t comprehend that potentiality and she can’t see beyond the inarguable simplicity of loving one’s child.

Sen. Gelser is another in a growing line of ambitious women in politics allying themselves to connected cronies in public health agencies and pharma-connected mainstream medicine. Somehow it feels rather more painful when it’s a woman throwing you under the short bus.

Three stages of Truth: “All truth passes through three stages: First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as self-evident.”

I think we are in second stage. After the third stage, there will be a Warning listed on every vaccine: "Vaccine may cause Autism and/or a serious brain injury".

According to the science, being "fully vaccinated" for many young adults does not mean they are "protected" against measles by the CDC's measurement standard which is demonstrated by the science to not equate to level of protection anyway.

Carol

I've got a great idea for a cartoon: There are a five chairs in a semi-circle. In four of them are seated Chris Harper-Mercer (Gelser might know who he is), Nikolas Cruz, Elliot Rodger and Alek Minassian. The empty chair is for the pharmaceutical executive who puts people over profit.

Sometimes cartoons really can shine a spotlight on reality.

Laura Hayes

If Sara Gelser has a late teen/young adult daughter who has been fully vaccinated, she can expect many/all of the following to manifest in the near future, if they haven’t already:

Anxiety issues

Gut, digestion, and colon issues

Nutrient absorption issues

Reflux

Heavy metal toxicity and related fallout

Activation of latent viruses and retroviruses of both human and animal origin that were in the vaccines given

Health problems, including various autoimmune issues

Emotional problems, including mood disorders

Fertility problems, including inability to conceive, inability to carry a child to term, and sterility

Chronic fatigue issues

Blood issues

Allergies, both food and environmental

Asthma

Tics

Tremors

Prescription drug dependency resulting from the above list

Prescription drug side effects, leading to more prescription drugs, and more side effects

Impaired immune and nervous systems

A lifetime of unpleasant, time-consuming, costly, debilitating, frustrating health problems.

None of the above vaccine repercussions reflects proper or ethical science having been done. Furthermore, no loving mother would wish, or knowingly inflict, such repercussions on her daughter (or son).

Sara and her daughter will both learn the hard way that vaccine ignorance is not bliss. When they do, I hope Oregon Senator Sara Gelser will immediately initiate legislation to abolish and forever ban vaccine mandates, and also initiate legislation for an immediate moratorium on all vaccines, as not one has ever been tested or approved properly or ethically.

Should Senator Gelser read these comments, I hope that she and her daughter will watch my recent presentation together:

“Why Is This Legal?” by Laura Hayes

The vaccine injured and their families are some of the last scapegoats in America. It is apparently ok to say derogatory things to vaccine skeptics such as “your kid was a retard already” and “you’re too stupid to understand cause and effect.”
It is not enough that my health and that of my family was ruined for the greater good. Now we are blamed and shamed wherever we go.

Apparently we vaccine injured are also responsible for every health crisis in America as well as climate change denial and flat earth conspiracy.

Go figure.

Bill

2 points I need to make here:
In reading about the recent "measles outbreak" "crisis", (I forget if it was Washington or Minnesota, but either way....), *5* of the 32 cases WERE VACCINATED!.... NOBODY has, or is likely to, die!....
So, sure, get vaxxed, and you might get measles ANYWAY! But the media WILL NOT ask, "WHY?" and "HOW?" do vaxxed people get the measles anyway? What does the Vaxx Industry say about why there products are never close to 100% effective? Often 50% or LESS effective?
2. Regarding abortion, *THINK* about this: Whose voice is NEVER HEARD in the ongoing abortion debate? Think about that a minute. Why do you NEVER hear the voices of FATHERS of aborted babies?
Well, hear and now you are. I Fathered children with women. PLURAL. I loved them, and was planning to marry them. But that never happened. When they became Mothers, they then became abortionists.
I have no living children, and now, at my age, am not likely to become a Father. I grieve for my dead, aborted children. I do NOT "blame" their Mothers. I still love their Mothers. But also sadly, their Mothers and I are not together today, or even friends, and that TOO is their "choice". Not mine.
I CHOOSE LIFE. My pain heals. I am a reasonably happy man. I miss my children. But now, I see all children as my own. It brings me great joy and pleasure when I see young parents with their young children. I can't say whether or not I would refuse my children all vaxxes, but I would be much better informed, and pro-active, thanks to all the good people here at AoA. GOD BLESS you all....
KEEP UP the GOOD WORK!

Bob Moffit

The cartoon's mermaid should be saying … "I'd like everyone to welcome the newest member to our group .. the ONE SIZE FITS ALL VACCINE WHOSE BENEFITS ALWAYS OUTWEIGH ANY RISKS.

Abortion being one of the cornerstone of the depopulation agenda :
41M abortions last year globally
And greater than 1.7bn abortions since the 1970s I believe.

And now they introduce this : (I am not passing any opinion on it myself - but soon we will be able to euthanize our autistic children I shouldn't wonder)

https://www.naturalnews.com/2019-01-28-names-of-the-human-child-murderers-in-the-ny-senate-who-passed-the-bill-legalizing-infanticide.html

The law, titled the Reproductive Health Act, sponsors a woman’s choice to destroy the life of her child and instructs health care providers to sever the life of the baby up until birth. The radical late-term abortion law declares abortion a “fundamental right” and defines personhood at birth, which allows carte blanche murder of a child in utero up until nine months or more of gestation. New York just severed all protections and all rights for babies, as long as they are killed before they are born.

Governor Cuomo wanted this radical late term abortion law so bad — he threatened to hold up the state budget until the legislature passed it. In New York, women can now conscript health care providers to take the life of their child for “medical reasons” that aren’t really biological emergencies at all. The life of the child can be taken up until birth for “age, economic, social, and emotional factors.”
