When I bring up the World Mercury Project page ( https://www.facebook.com/WorldMercuryProject/ ) the video is near the top of the thread but again won't play (and a lot of the rest of the page seems inactive, some links fluxuate in being active).

Maybe my computer/software is too archaic to keep up, but other facebook pages seem fine right now. Has anyone else experienced this?

It's hard to know exactly what is going on, but the thought occurred that individual journalists are doing what they can to insert as much opposition to the lie as they can get away with. Hence, the Vaxxed trailer posted by The Daily Mail. All these journalists could not be happy with being professionally bound and gagged and all of them could not be so ignorant as to believe the official script.

But I have noticed in some of the articles that there is far more information offered than one would think Pharma would like. One article embedded the Vaxxed trailer. Why do that? That is not the way to smear Dr. Wakefield. Makes me think the frenzy is more driven by media outlet need to grab readership using a celebrity story.

Indeed Linda, there is a fair amount of sloppiness to the cover-up.  And that's why we have to move away from seeing it as some deft collusion, involving secret backdoor meetings, as they strategize and then issue secret press releases to the media as to the exact script they should follow.  It's a lot more clandestine than that. 

More likely,  pharma who heavily advertise in these newspapers, have their reps reach out to the newspaper execs, and ask for the 'favour' that the newspapers don't humour the antivaccine movement, and when they do report on vaccine and autism to remind everyone that Wakefield is a discredited fraudster.  From there on, 'obedient' journalists have a fair amount of latitude as to how they frame the story, and what details they provide.  Some of those details that we are seeing are actual blunders that don't serve their cause, but, nevertheless, get repeated over and over again as pack-journalism ensues.  

It's quite an unfocused operation, lacking any stealth orchestration. If crafty strategizing is involved, it's more likely coming from the bloggers such as Gorski and Skeptical Raptor.  No doubt they're reading the newspaper stories, and shaking their heads at the incompetence, feeling they could do a much better job.

Of some considerable interest are the comments below the FOI link on the Urabe mumps containing MMR vaccines, including a complaint from from Sir David Salisbury, which was responded to by the FOIA:-

In a discussion with Dr David Salisbury, he clar-ified that his objection was that, irrespective of whether Urabe MMR had been blamed for causing deaths, he does not accept that any such deaths have in fact resulted from Urabe MMR or any other MMR.
We referred him to the judgement, of March 13, 2003 of the Osaka district court in Japan, which ruled that the death of two children (among numerous other serious conditions) were caused by Urabe MMR.
He said in response that Japan had a different Urabe MMR from the two Urabe MMR vaccines that were used in the UK. "

The deaths of Glasgow baby Matthew Ryan, as reported in the Herald, and English baby George Fisher both occurred shortly after the administration of the MMR vaccine. Their parents firmly blamed the vaccine. The inquest into little George's death was packed with UK government health and pharma representatives. Needless to say, both baby deaths were deemed not to have been caused by the vaccines.

Reading the 2007 Telegraph article linked by Wendy Stephen, I was impressed by the then high standard of journalism. Rosa Silverman's article demonstrates how much standards have slipped in the once very well respected Telegraph.

The JCVI, ARVI and the MMR Working Party Minutes were initially released in the UK in March 2007 to the FOIA Centre who had been contracted by a UK litigant parent to obtain them. Coverage of this is to be found on the FOIA Centre website where there were 13 comments recorded in response to the article.

The documents were heavily redacted and were the subject of an appeal (by the FOIA Centre) to have the redaction removed. They were then re released (with the redaction removed) and uploaded on to the JCVI website on the 5th June 2009, where they remain today.

I’m not sure why the notion persists that the contents of the documents weren't covered by the press until 2010 when a number covered the story as far back as 2007.

John, thanks for your priceless tireless reporting. Some particular text stands out:

Corroborating testimony has indeed said 1% is most likely (and not a familiar higher 10% estimate).

Thus, if 1% is truly accurate, the total actual reactions since 1990 comes to 65 Million, and here in the US in year 2018 the vast numbers of our younger age groups so afflicted with chronic disabilities bears this out.

I've said it before but it's always worth repeating: My generation (along with Bob Moffitt) was the healthiest in history born and raised through the 1940s having "maybe" the Diphtheria Toxoid, and with some few of us beginning to get the DAP shot in 1949, AFTER we all had actually had all the childhood diseases such as measles, mumps, chicken pox, and had been tetanus-exposed and thus naturally immune, so the new vaccines were not only completely useless, but extremely dangerous to boot - and still are.

Don't worry Patricia, for a long time Brian Deer has been given only limited space in Murdoch's Times, and I believe this is the first time his rant has been behind a paywall. In the UK, The Times has a very limited readership. It's certainly not something associated with most young parents.

A few years ago Deer wrote an appalling Sunday Times piece, based on a very rare published transcript of a UK family court case, where a local authority wished to wrest parental control away from the mother of a teenage boy placed in care. The boy had special needs, possibly autistic. To read the transcript you might have thought the mother, accused of Munchhausen's Syndrome by Proxy, was on trial, with two paid psychiatrists, one from an institution for the criminally insane, providing evidence as to the mother's mental state.

None of this had anything directly to do with Dr Wakefield, but the mother was convinced her son had suffered brain damage following administration of the MMR vaccine as a child. Since the vaccine was Merioux's Immravax, one of the first MMR vaccines with the mumps Urabe component, the mother could well be right. This vaccine, and the Smith Kline Beecham version Pluserix, caused aseptic meningitis and encephalitis. Both MMR vaccines were banned in the UK three years after introduction in 1988. It is my understanding several of the Lancet 12 children were also administered the dangerous Urabe Mumps containing MMR vaccine, but our UK Government, in its wisdom, buried all the papers for 20 years. This came out in a limited number of UK news outlets in 2010, too late to include it as evidence for the defence of the 3 doctors.

The mother, presumably read about Dr Wakefield's Royal Free research in the press and media. She persuaded her GP to refer her son for assessment at the then Special Clinic at the Royal Free Hospital, led by renowned paediatric gastroenterologist Professor John Walker-Smith. The other clinician, dragged into the GMC 3 year 'trial' , Professor Simon Murch, worked alongside Professor Walker-Smith, but unlike the other two, was permitted to keep his licence to practise medicine, being 'junior' to the lead consultant. All three were found 'guilty'.

In the event, the boy was deemed by the Royal Free clinicians NOT to have the 'syndrome' as described in the 1998 Lancet paper. The same team assessed my autistic grandson, who WAS diagnosed with the 'syndrome', one of around another 50 or so children so diagnosed. My daughter never saw Dr Wakefield during my grandson's assessment and treatments, and why should she have? Dr Wakefield was a research scientist based in his laboratories, with no clinical access to these children.

Dissatisfied with the Royal Free assessment, the mother, still convinced her son was vaccine damaged, used social media to research various alternative therapies, including special diets and other expensive treatments at private clinics. There was no evidence presented to the court that any of these therapies were illegal or caused any harm, physically or emotionally to the lad, but the Local Authority's contention was the mother was unhinged and obsessive and preventing the boy from
participating in 'normal' activities. Again there was no evidence of this. The boy was not 'normal' in any case, but the mother took him swimming and spent a lot of time taking him on outings etc. Of course the Local Authority won the case, with a virtual character assassination of the mother, who was labelled with 'munchhausen by proxy' and threatened by the judge with withdrawal of her future access to her son. I cannot for the life of me see how that could be in anyone's best interests, particularly that of the boy, who plainly loved his mother.

Deer, of course, made a complete meal of this transcript. He was NOT present in the court, but claimed to know the mother, stating she was a well known anti-vaccine activist. This was probably a lie, aimed to smear a number of other mothers of similar age with vaccine damaged children. Deer said the mother was 'mad'. It was all Dr Wakefield's fault for firing up these mothers who just wanted something to blame for their childrens' disabilities. His latest Sunday Times rant begins with much of the same.

I complained to the Judge, stating much of Deer's article had exceeded the information within the transcript, possibly enabling members of the public to identify the family. This was clear 'contempt of court', certainly punishable by at least a fine, for both Deer and the Times. Alas, the Times was merely admonished for being irresponsible. There have been no more Family Court public transcripts since.

I think the best way to fight all the misinformation about Dr Wakefield, is to keep reiterating the truth. If the mainstream press and media are going to be nothing more than corporate propaganda outlets, then they will ultimately be the authors of their own demise. As it is Murdoch's Times and The Guardian both lose £millions annually. The Guardian is kept afloat by a mysterious 'trust'. They have taken to begging for 'donations' for access online. We can only surmise about the funding for Murdoch's Times, but we can guess where the funding comes from.

A PS....on reflection to my suggestion of a voluntary inhouse mainstream press ban on reporting anything on Wakefield.....since it has become so counter productive

What makes such a prospect even more enjoyable would be the wholesale frustration of a free and unrestrained press, once able to defame their prey without blame or the fear of lawsuit, prevented from throwing the proverbial sh**e to the fans, whenever they were having a bad news day at the office.
Of course It aint never goin to happen folks. So they are being ‘hoisted by their own petard’ so to speak. Damned if they do publish, damned if they don’t.
The source of Andy’s greatest strength lies in his vulnerability. Who could have foreseen this.

After doing my daily news surf of the net on AW and seeing more of the same but with Elle attached, in ever more alluring and sexy photos, it occurred to me yet again that this is a fine example of what is termed overkill. This continuous and fruitless frenzy of destruction by the mainstream media has now become a disease of its own making. My next logical thought is how can such powerful forces for evil and corruption display such a profound lack of intelligence. If you want to bury someone, if you want to annihilate them, then the obvious course of action surely is to deny them the oxygen of publicity. The solution is in their own hands and Yet they carry on and on doing quite the opposite. Curiouser and curiouser......maybe we should keep quiet about the error of their ways.

Not sure how familiar the global AoA community is with daily American headlines but one of today's biggies is Trump's flirtation with the idea of revoking the security clearances of those whom he feels are politically opposed. What's striking is how similar the rhetoric from Sarah Huckabee Sanders is to Pan's with regard to threatening the licences of California doctors. The word "monetize" their clearance keeps getting repeated. Perhaps the best way to get the anti-Trump crowd to look at the science is to point out how much they resemble their enemy.

I have suspicions about divide-and-conquer intentions in this most recent "reporting," too, but I haven't been able to read more than a line or two, so that's not based on "current information." (Is that unwise or just as well?)

John, great post, but I have to disagree that their recent amping up the pilloring of Andy in reaction to him dating Machpherson is mainly motivated by wanting to distract from the vaccine scandals. I think they're sincerely upset about the relationship.

With more and more celebrity public spurning vaccines, the vaccine pushers are well aware that this is a big deal. They know that the followers of such celebrities are likely to take notice. Truth is, the gullible public's faith in vaccine is so strong that 'mundane' facts and scandals are unlikely to shake it. It takes another more powerful faith to accomplish that, and that is celebrity worship. Average-Joe or Joanne are likely not to give two figs that MMR killed two kids in Samoa -- and if they even heard the news! If you're one of the millions of followers of The Body, however, you might start to pay attention that she is dating Andy -- not to mention open your eyes to the vaccine news.

Rules for radicals; Going after Dr. Wakefield.
Hmmmm, the PR of pharma has gone after Dr. Wakefield and as a individual they did do all they could to beat him up.
However; their products are also beating a great many of the population up too.

Which in the end (I hope soon? I am saying this after three long decades) in the scale of life, the shear numbers of individuals hurt will bang that scale down hard! I sure hope we open up the prison and release healed drug addicts and put tons of pharma and parasitic government agents back in their place.

RULE 12: Pick the target, freeze it, personalize polarize it.” Cut off the support network and isolate the target from sympathy. Go after people and not institutions; people hurt faster than institutions. (This is cruel, but very effective. Direct, personalized criticism and ridicule works.)

No link - look it up for yourselves. This is the kind of gutter journalism we associate with the Murdoch press. I am so disappointed with the Mail, one of the few newspapers which makes a profit so should not be 'blackmailed' by advertisers, who need their large readership.

I was heartened by the comment thread, which definitely reflected an overall readers' distaste for this kind of journalism. There were two or three obvious trolls, peddling the usual lies, but they were in the minority. The article may have omitted the salient fact that High Court Judge lord Justice Mitting not only restored Professor Walker-Smith's medical licence, but heavily criticised the GMC's 'inadequate and superficial' examining of the evidence, supplied conveniently by Brian Deer. Birrell just stated Professor W-S was struck off. Not so much 'economical with the truth' but quite deliberately designed to mislead readers. Of course, Dr Wakefield, who was employed by the Royal Free purely as a researcher, and whose contract precluded any clinical contact with patients, was plainly no danger to child patients. If he was suspected of research fraud, then this should have been dealt with by the appropriate UK department dealing with research complaints.

Brian Deer has inevitably 'got in on the act' in a Sunday Times article. The single paragraph provided before the pay wall kicked in claimed adoring 'groupie' women and mothers were the source of Dr Wakefield's so called 'wealth', as if he were a pop or football star. Most mothers of severely vaccine damaged children are impoverished, unable to work and often having to resort to claiming benefits. Whatever the MMR scandal has done, it has NOT enriched Dr Wakefield. Quite the opposite. Prior to this, he and his wife were successful medical professionals for many years. They both now have successful careers in the US.
