According to a number of stories in the news, Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein spent over 3 decades groping and assaulting and paying off women, and no one knew what was going on until the current story by Ronan Farrow came out in the New York Times and New Yorker.
Is that possible?
Not really. We're also hearing that a lot of people knew what was happening and did nothing about it.
There are several stories in the news right now that both raise serious questions about a massive cover-up and point out an eerie parallel with what we’ve seen done for years by the media
Slate.com tells us that the DA in Manhattan had a chance to go after Weinstein two and a half years ago. He didn’t.
(*I couldn’t help but think about how the William Thompson/CDC whistleblower story broke in 2014 and never saw the light of day in the media nor was it addressed by elected officials, even after Representative Bill Posey begged the House of Representatives to call a hearing and investigate the horrifying charges of fraud and cover-up of vaccine injury findings by U.S. health officials.)
reported on “the news industry’s apparent failure to aggressively report on Weinstein’s decades-long ‘open secret.’”
And even though the New York Times published the recent story about Weinstein’s sexual antics, the Times is also charged with being part of the cover-up because they refused to publish a story about it by reporter Sharon Waxman over a decade ago.
(*Who can forgot how the media refused to report on the shocking revelation in 2011 that the federal government had been for decades paying off claims of vaccine injury resulting in autism, at the same time U.S. health officials adamantly denied any connection between their vaccines and autism.)
UK Debriefed said that the Weinstein story needs to be “a watershed moment.”
“It takes a lot of people to keep an open secret this big. …No more excuses, no more cover ups, no more second chances, no matter who you are.”
(*Excuse me, but things are never going to change. Does anyone in their right mind honestly think that any network news show financed by the “Ask your doctor if XXX is right for you?” will ever honestly and thoroughly cover the controversy over vaccine damage?
“No matter who you are.”
Seriously? When millions of dollars in ad revenue are at stake, the cover ups will go on forever.)
Hollywood Reporter chastised NBC for not being the first to publish the story about Weinstein, considering that Farrow was one of their contributors while he worked on it. The story alleged threats of lawsuits along with claims of payoffs on the part of Weinstein.
(*I couldn’t help but wonder what kind of influence was exerted back in 2008 when the story of Hannah Poling broke in the press. All the networks covered the news about the young Georgia girl whose vaccine injury case resulting in autism had been conceded by medical experts at HHS.
Hannah’s father, Dr. Jon Poling, was extensively interviewed. It looked like the truth about the link between vaccines and autism had been recognized—but no. The story immediately died in the news and the name Hannah Poling was never mentioned again. It was replaced by a return to the traditional claim of “studies show no link.”)
How could Weinstein have spent thirty years mistreating women while the rest of Hollywood and the media smiled politely? The same way the massive population of brain damaged children is “celebrated” each April and represented by a puzzle piece.
All the self-righteous people harping about Harvey Weinstein will wade away, and I can predict that things will return to the same-old-same-old in Hollywood. We’ve seen this scenario before.
