"You Can Never Really Say MMR Doesn't Cause Autism," Dr. Paul Offit

SplainingThanks to AofA's Nancy Hokkanen for this summation:

"You can never really say 'MMR doesn’t cause autism,' but frankly when you get in front of the media, you better get used to saying it. Because otherwise people hear a door being left open, when a door shouldn't be left open."

- Paul Offit, vaccine developer

"You can't prove that Coca-Cola doesn't cause autism, either... You're in a debate [chuckle] and, you know, you gotta fight unfair."

Michael,

No. That was not my point. My point was to illustrate that Measles is not the innocuous disease that many here would like you to think. It killed a 37 year old mother of three. Before the measles vaccine was introduced to widespread use in the US in the 1960s, measles killed hundreds of children in the US every year.

You can put your fingers in your ears and close your eyes and say La-La-La-La-La and pretend it did not happen (Like Barry below calling bull ...) or you can rationalize that the mother's death was somehow her or her doctor's fault (like Tim claiming that she had a pre-existing contidion---as if somehow that makes it OK that she is dead from a disease that is preventable).

And Michael, do you really think letting children catch measles during childhood is a good idea? Hospitalization rates during recent outbreaks have exceeded 20%. You are deluded to think measles is some innocuous disease. I'm pretty sure the 3 children of the dead mother in Germany would disagree with you.

Re "A 37-year-old woman died in measles in the German city of Essen. The woman, a mother of three children, succumbed to the disease despite intensive treatment in a university clinic."

Healthy properly-treated people do not die from the measles (e.g. when they are given high-dose Vitamin A, which is highly protective, and high-dose IV Vitamin C is also helpful.) So either this woman was not properly treated and/or she had serious pre-existing health issues.

This death is indeed a tragedy, but I'm pretty sure Curt Watkins point is its better to experience measles and other routine childhood diseases when we are children. That's why they are called childhood diseases. Fewer complications on average. Build long lasting permanent immunity as opposed to questionable incomplete immunity from a vaccination.

Good Point Curt!

"Is it true about Germany?"

Yes it is true. Measles killed a 37 year old mother of three in Germany this past week.

@Michael
I like that analogy - homeopathic doses of information. If only I had a few of those before my world crumbled 10 years ago. Well, if Trump needs an ivy league razor wire guy for the CDC he knows where to find me. I'll do it for free. cheers

Unfortunately .. the medial profession in the United States simply cannot be TRUSTED to inform their patients .. not just on vaccines .. but .. on a whole host of treatments that have already been proven .. or .. are proving to be ... more dangerous than doctors or public health officials admit them to be. Consider .....

Every once in a blue moon .. an article "reports" that more patients lose their lives in hospitals .. some estimates the numbers in the hundreds of thousands ... due to medical professional's making mistakes and errors .. more than auto-accidents, heart disease or cancer combined .. making admittance to a hospital almost as dangerous as climbing mount Everest in pajamas and bed room slippers.

Indeed .. the CDC and HHS has all but remained silent regarding the WIDE-SPREAD of "new deadly diseases" in hospitals .. resistant to many antibiotics .. due to the failure of policies that prevent bacteria from being transmitted from one infected patient to another .. simply because the second patient "used" the same invasive instruments .. previously contaminated by the first patient.

It is the world we live in ..

@KWS

You, at least I do wonder how much truth people can handle at one time. Some years ago I was explaining to this one person "facts" about the chemicals used for fluoridation and in about 5 minutes of non-stop facts, no emotion, just facts, literally made this person sick. It was just the information he had never heard. That experience has lead me to deliver such disturbing information that we have in our possession in homeopathic doses.

A third of the people will insist on remaining in denial---forever. Another third, already are uneasy, but holding on to some shred of belief. There is a third that when the shit hits the fan, will be ready.

Is it true about Germany ?

It's getting ugly in Europe for people who do not wish to vaccinate. First Italy passed laws to fine parents who refuse to vaccinate, and now Germany is set to do the same.
If you oppose vaccine mandates, it is time for us ALL to step up our education efforts. We need many, many more people see the truth so that we can turn back these vaccine mandates that are harming our children.

annie

Wait a second, that didn't come out right. What I meant to say was regurgitating that propaganda ABOUT Dr. Wakefield. Two totally different meanings - had to correct. !

Han Litten

Oi Ofiit you piece of human garbage .
This makes you a criminal of the very worst kind in my eyes . Damn Scoundrel

Every journalist in the world should be gob-smacked by Offit's statement. "......you'd better learn to say it in front of the media"?!!! Yes, Democracy Now, yes MSNBC, yes CNN, yes FOX you are all the victims of "alternative facts". Regurgitating the propaganda of Dr Wakefield makes all of you self-proclaimed fact telling journalists lackeys of Rupert Murdoch and you are all supporting, and propping up, anti-science rhetoric.

Vaccines cause encephalitis, that is clearly stated on the pamphlets that are required to comply with the 2011 Supreme Court Decision where the only consumer protection is that the vaccine manufacturers must print up a sheet of real (not deleted or modified) side effects. (It's amazing how easily doctors have failed to pass on those manufacturer's sheets to parents as they are suppose to.) Encephalitis is brain swelling, and brain swelling can lead to a number of problems that are identified as behavioral like autism, or ADD or ADHD or ticks or emotional dysregulation. But in a lot of cases vaccines also lead, it seems, to strange kinds of genius--if you are the lucky one. Certainly those kids don't fit in with other children and they may dress strangely or act strangely but they get good grades and can be diligent students. Vaccines can also lead to autoimmune disease but that isn't listed as a side effect yet, or allergies which is not listed, I don't think. But in addition to geniuses, vaccines can produce other less desirable problems like dyslexia, chronic tonsillitis, collapse of the immune system in certain vulnerable children, etc. It's amazing how after all these years the research end of the CDC or NIH haven't bothered to find out what kids are going to get the worst reactions and the ones that are going to get the less worse reactions and the kids that don't seem to get any reaction. But then as this article points out so much energy and money is going into just maintaining the propaganda and cover up so that no research seems to be going into safety or finding out those that are vulnerable. What's next: Maybe we'll have another zika virus epidemic or will it be ebola or something else. You can count on there being millions or billions more to develop emergency vaccines that are untested to deal with the epidemics and who knows if those epidemics are even real, or just there to emphasize the critical importance of vaccines role in preventing epidemic...huh? Never considering autism as an epidemic or autoimmune disease or allergies. It's still a long time before the dawn.

A recent poll:

Here's hoping more soon realize there is fake "mainstream" "healthcare" news too.

I see that Offit is hedging his bets with double negatives now. He knows the truth is coming. It's unstoppable.

It's odd, when I go through Facebook now, I see pro-vax comments are usually balanced with x-vax comments. I'm seeing people learning the facts, processing information, and getting involved in discussions. My sister joined our ranks recently....she was an adamant pro-vaxxer in the old days. I talked with my mum the other day and she may be joining as well. People aren't stupid and they've had enough of this holocaust.

I think I learned an important lesson from Cathy and AOA, essentially it's treat pro-vaxxers like your mother. Be gentle, be respectful, and let them know what's going on. Have a wonderful day.

What would happen if medicine ever started to look at possible sequelae of adverse vaccine events? That, of course, was by implication one of the main questions posed by the Wakefield Lancet paper in 1998. Yes, the liars really had to slam the door, though it keeps on bouncing open again - millions of damaged children later.
