Lawsuit for Shingles Vaccine Failure

Vaccine money
Note: The The National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act of 1986 needs a bit of an update to protect vaccines mass marketed to the unsuspecting, pharma trusting, medically ravenous elderly. Not sure where this law suit will go, but the mere fact it exists highlights how overreaching rarely ends well. Golly, I wonder if NBC Nightly News will air an ad for it? If Pharma and the Public Health community had only (insert vomit emoticon here) been satisfied with over-vaccinating children for profit they might have gotten away with it a bit longer. Dubious but plausible.  But when you injure and kill young women (Gardasil) and the elderly start shaking their canes at you because your vaccine failed, you might have a problem that's snowballing into the public consciousness in a way we "anti-vaxxers" (emoticon again please) have predicted.  This law firm has offices in California, home of SB277.  KRS

From Lopez McHugh Law Firm:

Do I Have a Legal Claim?

If you received a shingles vaccination and subsequently developed shingles, chickenpox, or other serious medical complications, you may wish to consider taking legal action. Contact a vaccine lawyer at Lopez McHugh to discuss your options.

Merck’s Zostavax is a shingles vaccine for people age 50 and older. According to The National Vaccine Information Center (NVIC), Merck’s product is the only live virus shingle vaccine currently available. The CDC recommends that adults 60 and older receive a dose of the vaccine.

The vaccine contains live varicella zoster virus – the chickenpox virus that also causes shingles. Once a person has had chickenpox, the virus remains dormant in their body. Later in life, if the immune system becomes weakened, the virus can reactivate to cause shingles. Zostavax, according to Merck, contains a “weakened” or “attenuated” form of the virus, which stimulates the immune system in an effort to keep the virus dormant and prevent shingles.

What is the Problem With These Shingles Vaccinations?

India's New Camel Legislation: Protection or Relegation?

Camel milkNOTE:  I first learned about camel's milk for autism at Autism One many years ago. There were camels in the parking lot at the hotel! My girls have benefitted from powdered camel's milk with better focus and fewer gut issues.  Christina Adams is a camel's milk advocate. Below is an article she wrote. Netha Raika emails photos of himself to the US. The slight twenty five year-old is seeking a match: not for matrimony – he’s a newlywed and recent father himself – but for a defender for his people. From his 70-family village near Bilara in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, Netha sends pictures of the Raika, one of the world’s most treasured camel cultures, to people across the US.  Netha’s photos are a kind of lifestyle SOS.

The irony of his dilemma is that just as the Western world is starting to value cultures like the Raika, thanks to emerging data on the medicinal quality of camel milk, they and other Indian pastoralists are caught in a legal bind. The Indian camel milk market is estimated at some Rs. 3024M (around US 45 million), yet India is losing its camels, with only 8,000 pastoralist families now owning the animals.

Classified by the United Nations among the world’s most important agricultural heritage systems, the Raika have identified with camels since the beginning of their collective memory. Roving atop camels half the year, they have traditionally made their living by selling camels and sheep to farmers, sustaining themselves partly with camel milk. The one-humped dromedaries are cultural cornerstones, sources of the camel-hair blankets Raika fathers give to daughters as wedding gifts. But factors such as fewer grazing areas, water diversion to agriculture, and the replacement of camels with farming technology have made camel livelihoods more difficult, accelerating the slump in India’s dwindling camel population. With Raika children now attending school, an opportunity not open to their elders, Netha says ruefully that the young generation has “no interest in camels and sheep.” And although many Raika want to halt the demise by formalising camel milk sales, they are unable to get permits, making their remaining camels near purposeless.

Dachel Wake Up: Aging Out of School

Dachel Morning Wake UoBy Anne Dachel

This is from California, the state where parents no longer have a choice when it comes to vaccinating their children. Here's one mother's story of looking for adult services for her daughter. This is the inevitable disaster we'll all face in America.

June 28, 2016, KQED Public Media for Northern CA (San Francisco): When Autism Ages Out of the School System

By Pamela Raymond

California’s day programs for adults with autism are underfunded and overcrowded. But with thousands of young people with developmental delays or disabilities about to reach the age at which they can no longer attend a public school and receive the many services offered there, the problem is soon going to get much, much worse....

When Briana’s special education school abruptly closed in the fall, I was faced with the premature task of finding her a placement in an adult day program. Because she is just turning 21, she would only have one more year of special education services under the 1990 Individuals with Disabilities Education Act — or IDEA — which assures a free and appropriate public education to disabled students to age 22.

...“This is a program I could see my Briana in. How do I sign her up?”

Not so easy. There is not even a waiting list per se, and the program prefers clients that are more independent than Briana. She still needs help sometimes in the bathroom, and she needs a pair of eyeballs on her at all times due to her wandering tendencies. There really was no space for someone with such great needs.

...I saw 50-plus clients crowded into two run-down rooms, many in wheelchairs parked in front of a big-screen television. It was noisy and chaotic. ...

...They had greater staff-to-client ratio, but the clients almost never left the building. There was no outdoor space to utilize or enjoy....

These programs, with some exceptions like the well-established one in Marin, are buckling under current conditions, and they are only going to get worse with the increasing number of adults like my daughter about to age out of the school setting.

The demand is leading some new programs to open, but they are faced with trying to operate a business without failing. This can mean sub-optimal buildings, and paying low wages to staff.

The ratios of staff members to clients are controlled by reimbursement rates by the regional centers. The regional centers receive funding from the state Department of Developmental Services. The pay rates of some of these professionals are on par with what caregivers are paid, which is close to minimum wage. Pet sitters or baristas that serve us our coffee may earn more than we pay those important, compassionate people that care for our loved ones. Are we OK with this?

Time is needed to find a good day program for a disabled young adult because there are not enough options. In the next decade, 500,000 children with developmental delays will enter adulthood nationwide, overwhelming a system that is already inadequate for the current numbers. Legislative leaders need to know how bad the problem already is so that plans can be made to avoid this looming public crisis.

CDC's Own Searchable Database Supports Dr. William Thompson's Revelations

Measles virusBy Anne Dachel

June 26, 2016, Andy Wakefield sat down with Polly and Jonathan Tommey to discuss the impact of the vaccine measles virus on the health of children, along with what’s happening with the “Vaxxed” tour, and what lies ahead. He also talked about the relationship between live virus vaccines and aluminum and mercury used in other vaccines.

View the FB Video Here.

Andy began by explaining that babies don't have a natural measles protection any longer from their mothers (because of the artificial immunity from the MMR) and they would be especially vulnerable if everyone stopped vaccinating. He also explained that the measles vaccine has dramatically changed the measles virus.

“If you interfere with the natural processes that have been established over tens of thousands of years, if you make assumptions about things as collectively sophisticated as viruses, then nature will exact a very, very big price, and it won’t necessarily do so immediately. ...

Andrew Wakefield on VAERS Analysis

VAERSBy Andrew Wakefield

Neil Miller’s analysis of the Vaccine Adverse Events Reporting System (VAERS) provides two red flags for vaccine injury that have long been suspected by vaccine safety advocates—associations between first, the number of vaccines administered at the same visit and the risk of hospitalization and death, and second, younger age at the time of the vaccine adverse reaction and a higher risk of hospitalization and death.

Miller’s first real-world finding belies the entirely theoretical proposition—dangerously interpreted as carte blanche to give multiple shots simultaneously—that a child can receive ten to one hundred thousand vaccine antigens at the same time.

His second finding on younger age at vaccination and risk of injury are entirely consistent with the true findings of the CDC’s study that looked at age of first MMR and autism risk.[1] African American boys and children of all races who were developmentally normal to age 12 months (‘isolated’ autism) had a highly significantly increased risk of autism following MMR on schedule (12-18 months) compared with those receiving it later. These facts were deliberately concealed for 14 years by the CDC authors and their superiors.

The second finding is also consistent with the observation that it was younger children who were at greater risk of meningitis with SmithKline Beecham’s dangerous MMR vaccine containing the Urabe AM/9 strain of mumps.[2] The implications for this finding were completely ignored by the authorities.

Miller provides an informative history of the value of the VAERS system in picking up adverse reactions signals, reminding us at the same time of the huge under reporting of adverse reactions by medical personnel and the apparent reluctance by government investigators to link serious adverse reactions to vaccines. The value of VAERS is the red flags that it throws up. It should be used to generate hypotheses that lead to definitive studies and answers that we can believe in. We now know from Dr. William Thompson, the CDC whistleblower, that his agency cannot be trusted to do such studies. Congress has an obligation to act immediately to create an independent vaccine safety agency, completely outside of Health and Human Services and firewalled from pharmaceutical company influence.

Man Made Epidemic (Film Review)

ManMade epidemic
By John Stone

It is reported that the UK’s East End film festival withdrew Man Made Epidemic after a petition from no more than six people who had not seen it. I do not know who the six signatories were but this sounds more like a surface event. I have no doubt that the powers that be (and “still are” even after Brexit) let it be known that festival organisers would have cause to regret their decision if it was shown – nor would it surprise me if some quasi government agency like Science Media Centre or Sense About Science was behind it. For one performance only, the film premiered at a cinema in London’s West End at 12.30 in the afternoon, so as not to get in anyone’s way.

It should be said that the most polemical bit of Natalie Beer’s film is the title, except that by now saying anything critical about vaccine products is enough  to bring down the wrath of the institutional heavens. Beer set out as a mother to investigate what the safest course for her children would be, and obtained interview footage from many quarters (it is said over a thousand hours edited down to an hour and a half). No one is caricatured or ridiculed, nor does she decide not to vaccinate, but rather to proceed with extreme caution. The impression is that even with a polite and deferential approach the reality that things were not quite as they should be was inescapable – the autism epidemic could not be explained away. Beer had found more than was comfortable.

The Age of Polio Series: Explosion.

"Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not simpler." -- Albert Einstein

On May 1, 1916, thirteen-month-old Lettie Caruso* moved with her family to a tenement at 1295 Gates Avenue, Brooklyn. A fifty-six-year-old woman named Mrs. G.H. Franklin lived and worked on the first floor, where she ran a small ice cream parlor that “the children naturally frequented,” according to a subsequent report by the New York Health Department. Lettie and her family lived in the apartment adjacent to the ice cream shop. On May 9, Lettie became ill. “A private physician was called the first day and came several days,” the Department reported. “She was examined with the stethoscope and at the first visit the doctor thought it was only a cold. As she grew worse a physician from New York was called in consultation. Mrs. Caruso thought the diagnosis was pulmonary bronchitis. So far as she knew the child was not paralyzed, but she cannot remember any special examination for that. There has been no Infantile Paralysis in this house, nor in the adjoining properties.”

That was about to change.

Looking back with perfect hindsight, Brooklyn in May 1916 was ground zero for an explosion that no one saw or heard for a month and more -- and, to this day, no one has satisfactorily explained. Before it ended late that summer, 25,000 people in the Northeast developed paralytic poliomyelitis, most of them young children, and an extraordinary 5,000 died -- nearly half of them in the City of New York, a toll approaching the September 11 tragedy. It was by far the largest and most lethal polio epidemic to date, and it remains one of the biggest ever (see chart).

As spring turned to summer, polio gripped every family with fear, not just in the Northeast but nationwide. It was a fear that never entirely lifted until the outbreaks ended in the United States and most other countries after the Salk vaccine was introduced a half-century later, an occasion so momentous that church bells rang out across the country. But 100 years ago, and especially Brooklyn, there was barely suppressed panic that the authorities and the media did their best to tamp down.

"While there is no need of undue alarm," the Brooklyn Daily Eagle reported in a careful front-page (but one column) article on June 17 announcing the epidemic, "the officials of the board of health are somewhat worried and are taking measures to stamp out the disease."

Since 1894, clusters had occurred with increasing frequency and virulence in the U.S.. The first, in Vermont, affected 132 and killed 18. The worst, in 1907, killed 125 in New York City. It almost seemed like a rehearsal, or a warning. But 1916 marked the moment the Age of Polio arrived in America.

No one could explain why the epidemics began appearing around the turn of the century. As Albert Sabin, inventor of the live virus polio vaccines, mused in 1947: “No circumstance in the history of polio is so baffling as its change during the past fifty or sixty years from a sporadic to an epidemic disease.” It certainly wasn’t a matter of better diagnosis or greater awareness – this of all diseases, with its sudden onset and often permanent disability or death, was as impossible to miss as a child in an iron lung.

“There was no idea in the eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries that poliomyelitis was contagious,” wrote John R. Paul, a professor of preventive medicine and epidemiology at Yale who conducted important polio research himself. “Had there been larger outbreaks in the early or mid-19th century it seems highly unlikely that they would have gone unnoticed.”

In 1917, the year after the Great Northeast Epidemic, John Ruhrah and Erwin E. Mayer wrote, “It seems to be a disease of comparatively recent origin. In the history of most diseases there is a gradual shading off into the older writers until the disease is lost in confusion of inaccurate descriptions. Not so with polio.” They continued: “The disease is so striking in its symptomatology, so devastating in its results, and produces such a deep impression on the popular mind that it does not seem possible that any very considerable epidemics could have happened in the countries in which there were physicians making records of what occurred.”

Perhaps because the outbreak rose and fell so suddenly, bracketed by much that came to define the turbulent 20th century -- war in Europe in 1914, the sinking of the Lusitania, which departed from New York Harbor, the next year; shark attacks along the crowded Jersey shore that sweltering summer of 1916 that caused sensational press coverage and became fodder for Jaws 60 years later; U.S. entry into WW I in 1917; and the Influenza Pandemic that killed 2,157 New York City residents in the week of November 1, 1918, alone -- the epidemic has faded from collective memory.

Polio 3

But the question remains, and it remains important in an age of new diseases like EV-68 and Zika, and disorders like autism, that seem to come out of nowhere and spread like wildfire: What caused the Explosion of 1916? If I'm right, an environmental bomb dropped on Brooklyn set it off, spreading with a smooth but terrible precision like a pebble dropped in a still volcanic lake. That kind of bomb could go off again at any time, anywhere. We need to understand it.

I've foreshadowed some of this saga in ways not yet apparent. It takes twists and turns I never imagined when I began. I only ask that you withhold judgment till the keystone has locked the blocks into place.

(*Sources and notes: Information about the sugar industry in 1916 comes from multiple sources including articles on and in specialized sugar journals. Case histories of Lettie Caruso, Mrs. Franklin and others are from the New York City Health Department archives of the 1916 epidemic at the American Philosophical Association library in Philadelphia. All names have been changed, which the library required as a condition for access. The chart showing the spike in the polio rate is by my colleague Mark Blaxill. Our series in 2011 proposing a new explanation for the roots and rise of polio epidemics paved the way for this series.)

Say Goodbye to School Days and Skittle Ways When Autism Ages Out

By Kim Stagliano

From time to time when I'm not too grumpy or tired or busy with mastering adult skills, I'll be writing about autism and aging out. My oldest finished school earlier this month. Forever. She turns 22 in December.
Retro data counter1) By high school, ditch the data clicker. I mean it. Reams of graphs and charts detailing how many times your child tore a piece of paper (Ugh! Destruction!) or slapped her hand on the desk (Ugh! Aggression!) will not help the next group of providers. At all.

2) Ask the paras to step back. Literally. Let your child learn how to walk on his or her own in the hallways without a para at his or her arm. Eyes on arms length should be ample. We changed classes 3 minutes before the bell when one of my kids was having issues with pinching other kids in the halls. Many adult programs have a 5 - 1 or  3 - 1 ratio. Your child will have to learn to be somewhat independent. Scary, yes?

3) Ease way off the prompts the way you ease off the gas on a curvy exit ramp. A prompt dependent adult will have a hard time keeping up in a program that is not prompt based. No programs are prompt based at this time.  Well, very few.

4) Programs that claim to be for special needs "including autism" likely are not. At. All. Just like we have schools devoted entirely to autism, we are going to need adult programs for job training, mentoring, dayhab, EVERYthing tailored to autism.

A local program that I will call Durmstrang Special Needs Program was stymied by my daughter's minor behaviors.  I mean what on earth would they do with a young woman who sits DOWN on the floor and will not get UP when told under stress?" Imaging the horror!  How could they possibly manage having to come up with coping strategies and a behavior plan to assist her in this huge transition. How about doing your job as a special needs center that claims to include autism with the $49,000 the State of Connecticut was ready to spend with you?

I know for a fact they have already tossed one young man with autism for his behavior.   "I see no indication that Mia can work within a group," said the director to my team. Ouch.  It's true, Mia had a behavior this year. The Sit In.

Programs want the shiny, happy disabled!  (You know I mean no disrespect to my friends who have kids with other serious diagnoses so don't snark on me.)  The "Mayor" (this is how Skittletini one young man was described to me at the Durmstrang Special Needs Program) who can speak and smiles at you and maybe stands a bit too close but is a social delight. Heck, I loved the guy when I met him.  I only wish Mia had his social ability. Alas, autism is not the Mayor. Autism might not look at you at all, let alone smile. But autism hears you, sees your judgemental looks. Autism, like KMart, sucks to many programs.

Oh yeah, even among misfits we're misfits! Cue the elf song and let's build some toys.

Check out every program in  your area where you think your child might be headed by the time your your child is in 10th grade. And then spend the next years working with your school team to prepare your child.

More later. Mia starts her program Friday or early next week. I'll keep you posted.

Pass the Skittletini.... make it a double. Wait, make that a triple. Gianna and Bella are next.

NOTE: I encourage you to read this book by my friend Susan Senator - from Skyhorse Publishing - Autism Adulthoodfor ideas on how other families are tackling adulthood for kids at all ranges of the spectrum and with stories from adults who themselves are on the spectrum. A Father’s Quest - Gardasil Vaccine

GardasilBy Cathy Jameson

About a year ago, I chimed in on an online conversation.  A man, who I assumed had a daughter because of the type of questions he was asking, was curious about vaccines.  He was specifically curious about the HPV vaccine.  He was especially curious if there were any risk factors associated with it.

Like all vaccines on the CDC’s schedule, the HPV vaccine does come with risks.  Despite referencing that fact right from the CDC’s website, I, as well as a few other parents, were unable to fully convince this fellow that the HPV vaccine wasn’t all that great.  Of course, it’s not our job to convince anyone to do anything, especially when it comes to making personal health care choices, but since this fellow was asking for further information, several of us took the opportunity to tell him what we knew.

Statistics from current data with references—many from mainstream sources – was shared.  From the tone of the dialogue, it seemed like that information was appreciated.  As far as online vaccine conversations go, I thought it was a great conversation.

He asked more questions.  We supplied more answers.  For awhile there, it felt like this guy was hanging onto our every word.  He did that until some of us started to add personal information.

In the past, personal experience is inevitably woven into these sorts of conversations, and why wouldn’t it?  Vaccine statistics are based on vaccines administered to everyday folk and their kids, but when some parents start sharing their firsthand observations about vaccines, including how our own typically healthy children ended up with documented medical issues post-vaccination, some people stop listening.  The beginning of the conversation may have gotten off to a good start, but could tell it was starting to change.  This guy had just about had his fill of our input.

I couldn’t blame him.

I know how far-fetched some of our stories sound – healthy child turns chronically sickly, or begins to lose skills, or goes from typically developing to having autism-like symptoms with the only change in routine being a “routine” round of vaccines.  Believe me, I was an unbeliever when I heard those kinds of stories, too!  The more hard-to-believe personal stories and reasons that were offered as to why parents like us were now vaccine hesitant, the less he listened.  I wasn’t surprised that this guy, like other parents who are desperate for more information, began to turn us off soon after.

He, like lots of other people who begin to question vaccines, wanted only the “good” statistics.  He wanted to get his hands on only unbiased scientific-based articles that focused on just the benefits and not on negatives that sadly do exist.  I wanted to tell him, Good luck with finding all of that, buddy! but took a step back from the conversation for a few minutes instead.

VaXxed Becomes a Cautionary Tale Of Vaccine Injury for All Americans to Hear

Alarm warningBy Anne Dachel

Vaxxed” is being shown in theaters across the U.S. and in Canada. It will soon go international. Thousands and thousands of ordinary people are learning about the complete lack of safety standards and the corrupt practices at our Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Countless parents of vaccine injured children who have suffered in silence now have a film that proves what happened in their family is real.

“Vaxxed” producer Polly Tommey has been conducting interviews at these screenings. She herself is the mother of a 20 year old son with severe autism. I asked her how meeting all these parents of vaccine injured children has affected her.

From Calgary Canada, here was her response.

“I started traveling with Andy and Del on the 1st of April and we’ve been pretty much going full blast till now. …For the nineteen years that I’ve been doing this with the [Autism File] magazine, talking about my son’s injury, attending conferences, talking to other parents around the world, forming the [Autism] Media Channel with Andy Wakefield, filming families—NOTHING, NOTHING has prepared me for the American people out there with the extent of vaccine injury.

“I had no idea about the military. The military situation in America is a disaster. It is inhumane. It is horrific, barbaric. There are no other words for what is going on in the military. We’re seeing damage, after damage, after damage. Young, beautiful kids want to fight for America, unable to get out, being used as human pin cushions. Horrific stories coming from there.

“The amount of dead babies… We’re speaking to parents, they tell us, mainly from DTaP, that they were told by the doctor, if they didn’t get the DTaP, then they were the worst parents in the world, and their children would die—And these children did die, from the DTaP. And the parents have no voice because their child died. There’s no society for them to have a voice. Children that have died later on, adults that  have died, flu vaccine, horrific stories coming in from the Gardasil, and babies that that have died because they were given far too many flu vaccines at a young age.

“It is non-stop. And every single story—every single story has the same thing: A pediatrician, a doctor, or a nurse had bullied them into having these vaccines. None of these people are anti-vaccine, just like I wasn’t. I was pro-vaccine…

“There [are] no words to explain what has happened to the American people with the vaccine injuries. So I will keep touring for as long as I can, and filming every single family that I can, and bring to you what is going on in America with the devastation of vaccine injury. It’s real. It’s real.”

“I had a beautiful baby boy… He was very healthy. He started rolling over at a very young age. He was very advanced, saying ‘mama’ at six months old…

“And then about his 15 month vaccinations, he had seven shots.  We went home. That night he started screaming …and I couldn’t get him to stop.  …I called his pediatrician, and she said, ‘Oh, it’s normal. It’s just a vaccine reaction. He’s going to be fine.’

“But he screamed all through the night. He had explosive diarrhea…. And the next morning, he was really limp and not responding well to me like he normally had. …

“We took him down to the emergency room. They said, ‘Oh, it’s just a vaccine reaction; he’ll be fine.’ At first they didn’t want to agree with that, but his pediatrician had already said that that was what they thought it was.

“And he kept losing all his skills, and by the time that he hit two, he had no words, he kept falling all the time. He’d spend up to six hours a day screaming and rocking back and forth. He didn’t acknowledge me or his dad anymore.

“And now he’s nine and we use…Generation Rescue, and he’s gotten a lot better.  But he still can’t go to school. He can’t talk. He doesn’t know who anybody is.  …

“I hope that parents really start researching vaccination and what it can do to their baby. Because it’s not how it can affect me that I’m so upset, but that it stole his life, it stole his future, it stole my beautiful child. And there’s nothing I can do now except tell parents, please research. Please ask the questions, please don’t just listen to your doctor. Please go watch ‘Vaxxed.’ Talk to doctors that are against vaccines, see what they’re talking about. And save your baby because it’s too late for mine.”

JB Handley Talks Vax Safety on

JbPORTLAND, Oregon — First, a disclaimer: I’m not a doctor, and the final decision about vaccinating your child should take place between you and your healthcare provider. I’m not giving you medical advice; I’m stating my opinion.

I am a dad. And, I write this without benefitting in anyway from what is said here. I have no book to peddle, no profits to protect, and there’s no doubt that writing this will result in some amount of hate directed in my general direction for challenging a popular narrative that vaccines are only safe and effective and should be administered the same way to all children without consideration for the unique biology of each and every child. So be it.

About the title

How could this be the only vaccine guide you’ll ever need? Like the old adage about teaching someone to fish, I believe my words will help you to do two things that can put you in control of the vaccine decision for your child and family:

  1. Do your own research. Understand the risks and benefits of everything you are putting into your child.

Every single person is different. There is no part of medicine where “one size fits all” is a good idea.

If you understand the harm vaccines can cause in some children and the benefits they provide, you won’t be intimidated by any pressure or judgment being placed on you by others.

2. Find a healthcare provider who doesn’t believe “one size fits all” when it comes to vaccines

The relationship between you and a doctor when it comes to vaccines is critical. There is a lot of shame and intimidation used in the healthcare profession to goad parents into vaccinating. This is wrong on so many levels, and there are also many healthcare providers who don’t believe one size fits all, who do believe every child is different, and who work with parents to provide the best plan for each child. Find that doctor. (And if someone shames you or tries to coerce you, run away fast!) They exist in every region of the country — network with parents until you find one. They might be a naturopath, a D.O., or a chiropractor, just find one!

That was easy, right? Do those two things (your own research, find a great healthcare provider) and you will be in great shape.

So you know, I did neither of those things when I had young kids in the early 2000s. I did no research. I went with the local pediatrician everyone else seemed to use. I regret those choices deeply, which is why I’m writing this to you right now*.

(*like tens of thousands of other American parents, I watched my son decline into Autism after following the vaccine schedule perfectly.)

I’m going to do 2 more things with this post to hopefully get you on your way to a better understanding of vaccines:

  1. I’ll share with you ten truths about vaccinations that most people — and especially new parents — don’t typically know
  2. I will go through every vaccine currently recommended for American children by the CDC and give you my opinion on their risk vs. benefit

Ten truths about vaccines most people don’t know

ER Doc and MedWife on VaXxed after Seattle Showing

New paradigm
By Anne Dachel

First of all, let me say that due to the crowd scene following the screening of "Vaxxed" in Seattle, no one got the name of this doctor who was interviewed by Polly Tommey.  (And if anyone knows who this man is, please let me know.)

Both the doctor and his wife are obviously well-informed on vaccine safety issues. Not only that, he's willing to stand up for his beliefs. He's an ER doctor who refused the mandated flu vaccine. He also refused to wear a mask in lieu of being vaccinated.

This is a rare physician—one who is willing to take on the medical community when it comes to mandated vaccinations.  He and his wife have educated themselves on the risks associated with vaccines.

When asked about other doctors who refuse vaccines he said, "There are some that do that, most of them just fall in line with the rest of the herd. …I don’t do that anymore. I won’t do it. I told them they either have to fire me or find another job somewhere because I’m not going to wear a mask, first of all, second, I’m not going to get a vaccine.”

Donate to AofA
Age of Autism is now a non-profit organization in its tenth year of serving as the Daily Web Newspaper of the Autism Epidemic, which we believe makes us the longest-running autism-related publication on the Web.

We are reaching out to you with our first direct request for financial support. Organizational changes have meant that we have lost a considerable portion of our revenue over the past year, and we hope you will consider helping us continue at full steam.

To make a TAX DEDUCTIBLE donation, please click here or send a check made out to:

Our revenue goes for publishing expenses, reporting and research costs, and support for Dan and Kim in their daily work for AOA. None of this would happen without the community’s support – your support.

We promote calls to action from all around the autism advocacy world, offer new information about the microbiome from Teresa Conrick, expose the latest outrages from the IACC by Katie Wright, bring news of the UK from John Stone, distill the latest media coverage with Anne Dachel, share Natalie Palumbo’s sibling perspective, and chronicle Kim’s saga of raising three girls with autism who are starting to “age out.”

Plus there's Cat Jameson's Sunday column, Tim Welsh's power tweets, Kent Heckenlively’s legal perspective, Dan Burns' literary touch, my own weekly column and ongoing investigations, and – as they say – so much more. We've published over 6,000 posts and 130,000 reader comments. A whole genre of books speaking up for victims of vaccine injury has spun off from AOA, and more are coming.

When I type “vaccines and autism” into Google, we are usually in the top 10 hits, and we are most often alone as a voice for vaccine safety and autism advocacy. I can’t count the number of people who see us as a lifeline and oasis, who say we have helped them make an informed decision, or helped them find their way to autism groups that can really help. We just redesigned our site to be even more accessible, inviting, and compatible with mobile platforms.

Pesticides, The Microbiome and Autism

Microbiome7By Teresa Conrick

If you have been following the research over the past decade, AUTISM has been skyrocketing with a male preponderance of approximately 4 males to every 1 female diagnosed. Many in the trenches of research have been making strides in showing that TOXINS seem to affect males at a higher rate .  A new study on the MICROBIOME shows that a well known Pesticide, the Organophosphate, Diazinon , which has been around for YEARS can damage the bacteria of the Microbiome.

This Significant For AUTISM?

Yes, it is.    June, 2014. Organophosphate pesticides and autism

The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences published a report this week linking prenatal exposure to organophosphate pesticides with a higher risk of autism. The study found that children whose mothers lived within a mile of fields treated with an organophosphate pesticide during their pregnancy were 60% more likely to develop autism spectrum disorders than children whose mothers did not live near treated fields.

Pesticides are not only in the air and soil but of course in the foods bought at stores. This research may be a good yet scary glimpse of how a toxin can cause damage to the Microbiome.  Children are small, infants smaller and a fetus.... so vulnerable. They are all exposed numerous times to environmental toxins and research keeps showing that these chemicals can do harm. The research done on the effects of vaccination on the BRAIN and the Microbiome are limited as it is a controversial topic . It is not hard to see that the same mechanisms can be at play when a vaccine, a toxin, or a poison damages the Microbiome, which we now know to be KEY in the development of the immune system and the brain.

Gender-Specific Effects of Organophosphate Diazinon on the Gut Microbiome and Its Metabolic Functions

Some pertinent highlights for Autism:

■     There is growing recognition of the significance of the gut microbiome to human health, and the association between a perturbed gut microbiome with human diseases has been established.

■     The wide agricultural use of diazinon, an organophosphate insecticide, has raised serious environmental health concerns since it is a potent neurotoxicant.

■     With studies demonstrating the presence of a microbiome-gut-brain axis, it is possible that gut microbiome perturbation may also contribute to diazinon toxicity.

■     Diazinon exposure perturbed the gut microbiome community structure, functional metagenome, and associated metabolic profiles in a gender-specific manner.

Dachel Wake Up: Autism Merits Special "Quiet" Shopping Hours

Dachel Morning Wake UoBy Anne Dachel

Get used to autism. Get used to kids everywhere being on the spectrum, having sensory issues, and needing special accommodations. We have to learn to live with more and more children with developmental problems, labeled non-verbal, prone to having meltdowns when the stress gets to be too much. In a few more years we won't remember a world when autism wasn't just a fact of life. The Sensitive Santa at the local mall at Christmas, the autism friendly story time at the local library, the special movie showings for ASD kids with reduced lighting and sound are just the beginning. Changes will have to be made to provide for all these people because we're not going to do anything to stop more and more children from ending up with autism.

Someone posted this story from last month from the UK Independent on my Face Book:

May 9, 2016, Asda held a 'quiet hour' for autistic shoppers – now other shops are doing the same

Book Review - "Master Manipulator" - By James Ottar Grundvig

Master Manipulator COVERBy Kent Heckenlively, J.D.

I wanted to spend some time praising James Ottar Grundvig's wonderful new book, "Master Manipulator: The Explosive True Story of Fraud, Embezzlement, and Government Betrayal at the CDC" because I think it is something unique in the canon of autism literature. (Read more at Amazon and if you've read the book, please leave a review.)

We have had the personal stories of families dealing with autism, and we have had some fine books dealing with various medical and scientific issues, but we haven't really had a book which examines at length the political culture in which this epidemic has been allowed to happen.  Many of you are aware of Poul Thorsen, the Danish researcher who worked for the CDC and is now a federal fugitive for embezzling more than a million dollars to generate studies exonerating vaccines from causing autism.  But what you don't know is how that happened behind the scenes at the CDC.

The Thorsen depicted in this book is certainly an intelligent man, figuring out how to data-mine a rich vein of medical information in the Danish health registry.  But there is also something else in Thorsen's personality, a need to ingratiate himself to powerful patrons, and give them what they want.  It is not an uncommon failing, and may be something particularly American.   Grundvig makes the argument that more than anything else, Thorsen wanted to make it big in America, and saw pleasing his superiors at the CDC as just the way to do it.  And he also wanted to live large, buying a limited edition Harley, Audi Quattro, Honda SUV, as well as a half-million dollar home in a tony suburb of Atlanta.  That money should have been spent doing honest autism research.

INOCULATED: How Science Lost Its Soul in Autism

Type WriterBy Kent Heckenlively, J.D.

About ten months ago I started writing a new book, INOCULATED: How Science Lost Its Soul in Autism, which would utilize the CDC whistleblower story as a way to review the corruption in science regarding vaccines and autism.  I knew Andy Wakefield was working on his documentary, and when I interviewed him for this book he mentioned it, but in my wildest dreams I never imagined VAXXED would explode onto the scene the way it has.  I have been writing furiously to make sure that story is included as well.

In the meantime, I got a powerhouse agent, Johanna Maaghoul of the Waterside Literary Agency, the world's #1 agency for New York Times non-fiction bestsellers.  Johanna has been taking the book around to publishing companies, getting some positive interest, but they are absolutely terrified of the subject.  Publishing companies like to sell books, so that's where you come in.  I want you to read the chapter outline and if this is a book you would like to buy, leave a comment to that effect.  How's that for simple?  That way when my agent is talking to a publisher she can say something like, "Five hundred and seventy two people said they would buy this book immediately!"  Thanks in advance for your comments.

Chapter Outline

Chapter One: The Call – Dr. Brian Hooker, a university biology professor was working in his office when he got a call from a senior Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) scientist, Dr. William Thompson. The two worked together years earlier when parent groups were clamoring for the CDC to conduct research into vaccines and autism. Thompson reveals that the CDC found such evidence, but covered it up. Thompson had retained these documents and eventually turned them over to Congressman William Posey. The most explosive of these allegations is that earlier administration of the MMR vaccine is causing a 3.36-fold increase in autism among African-American males. With Thompson’s guidance, Hooker publishes this information in the summer of 2014.

Chapter Two: The Insanely Good Soul of Dr. Andrew Wakefield – British researcher, Dr. Andrew Wakefield first published his findings suggesting the MMR vaccine was linked to autism in The Lancet in 1997, even going so far as to share these results with the CDC prior to publication. In the ensuing years, Wakefield was subjected to unbelievable persecution and his name was vilified throughout the world. Hooker brings the Thompson documents to Wakefield’s attention. Hooker also initiates contact between Thompson and Wakefield, with Thompson apologizing for participating in the cover-up of research that would have vindicated Wakefield’s research. Wakefield accepts Thompson’s apology.

Dan Olmsted: My Father’s Book

Happy Father's Day TypewriterSeventy-five years ago, my father, Robert Olmsted, finished a book – a labor of love, really, on the influential architect Louis Sullivan and Sullivan’s writings not on architecture, but democracy. Today, I'm publishing for the first time the opening of that book (here.) Let's hear it for the World Wide Web!

A bit of background is in order. My father was 47 when I was born in 1952, and he died at 66 in 1971 (just two years older than I turned Friday -- too young). I missed a good deal of his life, with divorce and distance a further complication. I only knew second-hand, especially from my sister Rosie, that before I was born he spent long hours up in the garret (yes, a real garret) of their house in Danville, Illinois, creating this work. He would have been in his 30s.

It was never published, and everyone believed the manuscript was lost.

It was not lost, only spectacularly mislaid.  After my mother's sister died, her children were going through the attic and found a manila envelope with –-behold! --the loose-leaf, typewritten pages of the "Louis Sullivan book." My cousin Trevett handed it to me, and I must say that for some while, I thumbed the pages but didn’t really read it. I had no idea what I would find. What if it was awful or misguided or as dated as the typewriter it was written on, at least by my lights? Well, it wasn't.

The mammoth Auditorium building in Chicago may have been demolished by the time these words are in print. If the Auditorium is razed, one of the monumental proofs of Louis Sullivan's genius will have submitted to the hand of Time. But Sullivan's legacy to the world is more lasting than stone or steel.

That opening still feels fresh and powerful, at least to me. A lot was at stake -- an architectural masterpiece  might bite the dust. The building's description -- "mammoth" for size, "monumental" for significance -- was a nice variation, especially since "monumental" worked in both senses. The introduction unfolded in the same way, a brief, well-crafted intellectual biography of Sullivan -- and therefore of my father as well.

Seventeen years after Louis Sullivan's death he is still primarily known as an architect.  Yet those persons who were close to Sullivan during his lifetime all attest that to know him as an architect, as a giant creator-builder -- to use Sheldon Cheney's phrase -- is to know only half the man. Great as was his contribution to architecture, Louis Sullivan, the poet-philosopher, the artist-writer, the teacher, the prophet of democracy, the personality, stands far above the buildings or the theories of architecture he left to the world. If there remains any doubt about this evaluation this book is offered as conclusive evidence.

Yet this was not hagiography. Sullivan's career cascaded into darkness; he ended up alone. He suffered the fate of someone far ahead of the times. But my father was passionate about the point he wanted to make: Sullivan’s philosophy shaped his buildings. Ideas mattered most. And so did the individual. Form followed function -- a term Sullivan coined.

Sullivan's faith was in the democratic idea, a belief in the soundness and kindness of the common, the normal man -- the multitudes. Here was a faith on which to build a genuine optimism; here was a substantial support reaching down to bedrock. America pointed to her steel production; Sullivan looked at the spiritual vitality of the nation as an index of national well-being.

I just love that. I'd call it prairie progressivism, a Midwestern, land-of-Lincoln fanfare for the common man. It's in my bones as well, as readers who care about such things will know. It was an affirmation of, an appeal to, our better angels, as Lincoln had it.

Happy Father's Day from an Autism Dad Who Says: "I Am the Luckiest"

Chuck charlie hug blue
By Charles (Chuck) Hancock

I'm back.  I knew I would be.  Just did not know when; or why.  Well, I think I now know.

My previous, and only, submission to Age of Autism was posted here almost five years ago, in August 2011

At that time I briefly spoke of the progress that my son, Charlie, then nearing the age of six, was making on his autism spectrum disorder "journey."  Yes, journey.  Though not in my mind envisioning a cool adventure-like trip, junket, road trip, or expedition.  No, this one more like a slog. Back in 2011 Charlie was working with ABA-BCBA (Applied Behavioral Analyst-Board Certified Behavioral Analyst) professionals on a regular basis, and was in receipt of biomedical treatment under the medical guidance of a DAN ("Defeat Autism Now") doctor.  He also was just beginning to talk.  In semi-sentences anyway.    Charlie has had a ball the past three years surfing with the amazing group from Surfers Healing the past three years.  He gets a medal each year, tells people he was the "champion surfer."  Such a joy for all the families involved.  The range of emotions is awe inspiring.  Wait listed this year; fingers crossed.

I wrote in 2011 that Charlie, then about to enter kindergarten, had come a "long way."  Specifically, at Chuck Charlie 1that time, both verbally and socially.  I also wrote "No doubt about it, his autism will be cured." Well, the point of this submission is not to offer a proclamation of such an occurrance; though Charlie, who just days ago concluded the 4th grade, has certainly made some pretty significant progress since 2011.

Here, now, I just want to ramble on a bit about inspiration, and love.  And also fear.  About life I suppose.

A lot has happened since August 2011.  I got divorced. I donated stem cells to my brother.  I witnessed the passing of a dear friend, a fraternity brother.  He had valiantly, and with uncompromising grace, fought amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), aka, Lou Gehrig's disease. Another fraternity brother, amazingly, is now battling this same dreadful disease.  I was subjected to a level of stress, brought about by a circumstance not here to be discussed, which I would not wish on anyone.

What essentially motivated me to write this at this time is the fact that it is Father's Day.  Charlie is my only child.  My pride and joy.  My hero.  And my Mom's only grandson.

March Against Monsanto Founder Tami Canal with Del Bigtree of VaXxed

Del at Chaffetz
NOTE: Thanks to attendee Levi Quackenboss for blogging about this meeting at the Quackenboss site:

I wasn’t going to write this blog until next week but my flight landed and clearly all of you are standing by to hear how today went, so I am sitting down the minute I walked into my house to update you.

This is going to be quick and dirty because it’s late and I haven’t slept after flying into and out of DC today and yesterday.  The background is that a few months ago I approached Tami Canal, the founder of March Against Monsanto (MAM), to strike a deal: if I gave her the link to watch Vaxxed before just about anyone else in the country, she would write a review of it and promote it on Facebook. Because of an incoming link to my blog earlier in the year I realized her position on vaccines for the first time– and the fact that the anti-GMO group isn’t united with the vaccine freedom group boggled my mind.  We’ve got to get it together. Long story short, she accepted.  Vaxxed lit a fire in her and I put her in contact with people who advocate on the federal level.  As kismet would have it, Tami is a constituent of Congressman Jason Chaffetz, who is the Chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform (OGR)– the committee charged with investigating the CDC Whistleblower hot potato. Because MAM has over a million followers, she was able to get a meeting with her Congressman and a half dozen of us convened in Representative Chaffetz’s office this afternoon without him knowing who was coming. Surprise! We brought Del Bigtree, one of the producers of Vaxxed, with us.  Read more at Levi's site:

Here's a video of Del Bigtree of VaXxed with March Against Monsanto founder Tami Canal.  Del speaks about the disconnect among many liberals and progressives:  they can see the duplicity, lying and corporate greed in Monsanto and our food supply and American health but have not opened their eyes to the parallel world of pharma, government interference and vaccine injury. Below is a video from Facebook live of Del at Utah Congressman Jason Chaffetz's office to call for a subpeona of Dr. William Thompson and hearings on the CDC whistle blower.  Thank you to Del, as ever.

Please email them, The Oversight & Government Reform Committee (OGR), to subpoena Dr. William Thompson

Sluts and Nuts Strategy Failing!

Donny Osmond Tweet

Oh dear. One of the strategies used by pharma, govt, media, public health, trolls and skeptics has been called "Sluts and Nuts."  Females, especially beautiful blonde celebrity autism Moms,  who speak out against vaccination injury are labeled sluts.  Sluts are stoooopid and don't know anything about anything and should be silenced. Men who speak out are nuts. Stupid crazy dangerous nuts. All are discredited for one reason or another. Shamed. Ridiculed.

Donny Osmond is an American icon of wholesome family values.

Uh oh.

Thank you, Donny Osmond. For being a thoughtful consumer. You might be down by the lazy river, but you sure aren't lazy.

Sheila Lewis Ealey Speaks out about “Vaxxed” in Compton, California

Sheila Ealey

May 19, 2016, the Compton Herald, in Compton, California, published the piece, “Vaxxed: Smoking gun on autism in Black boys, others,” by Madlen Grgodjaian.

In the first paragraph Madlen Grgodjaian alleged that the CDC covered up a link between the MMR

Ron and Sheila Ealey
Ron and Sheila Ealey

vaccine and autism in African American boys. Almost all sources in the mainstream news that have bothered to mention the real story of “Vaxxed” carefully omit any mention of the racial aspect of this study. The Herald accurately described Andrew Wakefield’s work on his 12 patients in Britain who had regressive autism, again something you won’t find in national print and broadcast news. Grgodjaian even mentioned that Congressman Bill Posey had pleaded with members of the House to hold a hearing the CDC whistleblower.

Ealey delivered an emotional and alarming speech on the decades of experimentation on African Americans by health officials, and the massive number of vaccine injured children today suffering under what she called “medical tyranny.”

Here is what Sheila said at the "Vaxxed" screening in Compton in May.

"I'd like to start by telling you a little history. In the 1800s, Dr. Merriam Sims thought so little of enslaved African women that he experimented on them. And he experimented on them without anesthesia, and some of our enslaved women had as many as thirty operational procedures. He became the father of what we know today as gynecology.

“In the 1930s, the American government thought so little of our African American men that they went to Tuskegee and decided, instead of treating them for syphilis, they would experiment on them.  And that experiment  lasted until the 1960s. In 1960, Dr. Saenger decided that 88 African America individuals between the ages of 9 and 88 with cancer, lives were not worth two cents.  He quadrupled the dose of radiation, he burned them and he maimed them.  And that experiment lasted from 1960 to 1971.

“Well today, the American government, the CDC, has decided that my son’s life and the lives of others like him are not worth it. They knew what they were doing when they sent that shot in the dark to cause this to happen to my son.  But you see, here’s the difference: When you turn your face away from what’s happening in one community, then the greed decides then that it has no respect of person, race or nationality… and it trickles down to every other race of people.

So, now what we have is a holocaust. Our children are being maimed and they’re being killed, and you’ve got a government sitting in Washington, DC that doesn’t think enough to subpoena Dr. [William] Thompson, who came out and said what they [the CDC] were doing. So, what we have to do today is take back our communities, take back our children. And how do we do that? We walk out of the doctors’ offices, we decide no… we’re not going to take that shot [of vaccine] in the dark. We’ll take our children out of the school system, because the only thing they’ll understand is money. Education is not free. You pay taxes for it, and it’s  certainly not appropriate. Once this happens to your child, you can’t get services. You got to go fight for an independent educational program. You got to go fight for services. You got to fight with the insurance company. And they still stand there and say, your child is not worth it.

“Our children are our legacy, that’s all we have. And without our children, this country can’t stand. So take them out of the schools. Go into your churches and tell them to see this movie ‘Vaxxed.’ And then ask them to open the doors to the connection, the annex  building, and allow you to come in and educate your children so you can go to work. We know how to be a community, we know how to do it. We don’t have to reinvent the wheel. During the Civil Rights Movement, that beautiful lady, Rosa Parks, she wasn’t the first to get arrested, but she was the last, because she was a tender, beautiful example of dignity. She was the weakest of them all, and we became enraged. And what did we do? We got off the bus!

“So I’m asking you to stand with us, stand with the Nation of Islam and get off the bus! We have to get off the bus!

“And let them have their schools, let them have their doctors.  Take back our children! …Take back our heritage and let’s stand together and do it. This is not about a white child or a black child or a Filipino child or a Hispanic child—This is about our children! All of our children! And if you think in 16 years we’re going to have one in two children that look like my son, that’s too much. That’s too big of a price to pay.

“I’m asking you to stand with us. Stand with the Nation of Islam. Stand with us as Christians, stand with us as agnostics, atheists. but stand on behave of our children….”

Sheila Lewis Ealey is the mother four and lives with her husband Ron in New Orleans. Her son Temple was taken to the doctor to be vaccinated along with his twin sister Lucinda, he was given a double dose of the MMR vaccine, along with the DTaP and HIB vaccines. The effect was immediate. By the next morning, he was not responsive. Within the next six months, Temple was diagnosed with severe autism disorder and later in 2008 with mitochondrial myopathy one. Her son's case was one of the 5,000 injury claims dismissed by the federal government.

Since that time, Sheila has been an advocate for informed consent and truth in the vaccination program.

She was educated in New Orleans' public schools and St. Mary's Dominican College and Loyola University. Currently, she is finishing a Masters in Education. Previously, she was a co-founder, director and curriculum developer for the Creative Learning Center of Louisiana, a school for students with autism for the last 10 years. She is certified in different educational modalities and plans to pursue a doctorate in education beginning in September 2016.

"I Am Alone Struggling With My Problem"

Midweek mashup
By Dan Olmsted

Hey everyone -- Still in search of a member of the American Psychiatric Association to make a request on my behalf; and I'm issuing a call for a virologist out there to contact me ( I have some embarrassingly basic questions to ask. Meanwhile, my query for help with understanding arsenic -- sometimes a metal, sometimes a metalloid, among other tricky properties -- paid off, as you'll see Saturday.

Sometimes our comment threads contain tales of such misery that they are hard to read. Like this one:

"I want to say that I have a 20 yr old Autistic son who has started to turn violent these past two years. He does not communicate at all! He used to use the bathroom in his pants, but now I take care of him fulltime as my job and have worked with him to sit and use it. For those who can't get a job because nobody will care for them while you work, in some states you can become a certified provider and get paid by the county to care for your disabled son, daughter, or family member. They need a waiver which can be difficult to get especially if they are under 18.

"I begged, cried, pleaded with the county to please push this waiver through because I was running out of resources and would have to give him up to the state because nobody could watch him while I worked. I have a 10 yr old typical developing daughter I have to support too and couldn't not work. I'm a single mother because I divorced their father three years ago, and he knew it would make my life more difficult by not helping me, hoping I would come back. Now, I believe his violent outbursts are due to him needing to use the bathroom. Maybe constipation, so I started giving him more fiber, and will sit him on the toilet until he has a bowel movement. This seems to calm him down once he has one.

"He has never went after anyone, but gets so upset that he screeches and rocks rapidly back and forth. I have to walk away sometimes for 5-10 min because it gets overwhelming. I hear comments all of the time about how it must be nice to get paid to watch your own son, but you walk a day in my shoes and see if you could handle it. Even for just an hour. I earn every damn penny of it, believe me. Some say he's my meal ticket because of this, but I'm not a lazy ass who lives off of welfare because I don't qualify for it and pay my own bills and go to school. I know I won't always be able to care for him, and need a backup plan. In ohio, the waiting list for a waiver is 2 yrs+.

"I didn't have that time to wait, so after all of the crying I did they put it through as an emergency waiver. Still, it took 6 months for all of the paperwork to go through. I thank God everyday for my mother who helped me. My parents told me they would help as much as they could once I got divorced. I just wanted to vent, and give information to people who has lost hope or almost there. I cry at least 3 days a week because of the stress, but I am strong and will get through this. Love to all parents/family who have a violent child/adult with autism because it takes special people to be able to live with a person with a disability."

This is the reality for many as their severely affected children get older, even as the image of Asperger-style whiz kids takes root in our society. Here's one that's less horrific but I'm sure wears people down just as much.

"It took me almost 7 months and several conversations with 4 doctors just to get one of them to sign a tax form indicating that my son still has autism. Why? Because he hadn't had an appointment with any of them in quite some time. We would need to schedule one, on a wait list for months. I resigned myself to the fact that I would miss the tax deadline that year (silly me, thinking this exercise would be a 15 minute thing). It took some intervention from my own doctor's office to get this resolved.

Journal of American Physicians and Surgeons: Combining Childhood Vaccines at One Visit Is Not Safe Neil Z. Miller

Science post imageJournal of American Physicians and Surgeons
Volume 21  Number 2  Summer 2016

Although health authorities including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) claim that childhood vaccines are safe and recommend combining multiple vaccines during one visit, a review of data from the Vaccine Averse Event Reporting Sstem (VAERS) shows a dose-dependent association between the number of vaccines administered simultaneously and the likelihood of hospitalization or death for an adverse reaction.  Additionally, younger age at the time of the adverse reaction is associated with a higher risk of hospitalization or death

Anne Dachel Interviews Sheila Ealey on VaXxed The Movie

Sheila Ealey
By Anne Dachel

I recently talked with Sheila and recorded her responses on Skype. Not only is she the mother of a vaccine injured African American son with autism, but she’s also an outstanding advocate for children on the spectrum. For her, the cover-up revealed by William Thompson is very personal.

Sheila, tell us about your role in "Vaxxed." Why were you included in the film?

Sheila explained that she was contacted by someone who knew Dr. Andrew Wakefield was looking for an African American family affected by autism. She said that originally “Vaxxed” was simply going to be a documentary on the Autism Media Channel.

Sheila said that when she and her family were displaced by Hurricane Katrina, they temporarily lived in Austin, Texas. Thoughtful House, an autism research center that is connected to Dr. Wakefield, sponsored a theater night and Sheila met Andy for the first time. She told him the story of what happened to her son after being vaccinated..

“[Andy] and Polly came to New Orleans, and spent about three hours with us, just asking me questions about what had happened….

“Someone asked me if there was a script [for her role in “Vaxxed”], but there was no script. We were just talking casually like I’m talking to you. And that’s how I ended up becoming a part of “Vaxxed.”

Were you surprised by the reaction to "Vaxxed"? What were you expecting?

The Trauma of Orlando

Rainbow hands

Managing Editor's Note:  In the aftermath of the massacre in Orlando, I'm brought back to the feelings we had one day after the shootings by Adam Lanza in Newtown, Connecticut, just miles away from my home.  How is this carnage possible?

Both shooters [seemed] to suffer from serious mental illness.  Both had access to weapons of war, not just hunting or personal protection or sport shooting.

We're an autism-centric news site. But I see a thread connecting the mass shootings that occur all too Rainbow_syringesoften and the autism epidemic.  Shots. With bullets. Shots. With syringes.  Injury. Inaction. Action.

When measles popped up in California, laws were written across the country and many passed (SB277 for instance)  despite the fact that no Americans died. Industry profited. With the shootings, it's the opposite. Lawmakers do not rush to pass new laws. Industry profits.

Neither media nor lawmakers are willing look to the pharmaceutical industry for their role in the mental health of our citizens.

Industry is bulletproof.

God bless those killed and wounded and their families and friends.  KRS

Behaviors with Friends App!

We're happy to share this blog post from our friends at Generation Rescue.  Many years ago, I met Sarah Scheflen, who created the Teach2Talk DVDs that kept my girls engaged, learning and quiet in the minivan for hundreds of miles!

Check out this review of the app called Behaviors With Friends. Check it out at the App Store here!

Behaviors with Friends App Review

Check out this great review of Jenny McCarthy’s and speech-language pathologist Sarah Scheflen’s new iPad application, Behaviors with Friends. This app is helping a lot of children understand how to solve problems with peers and learn how to perspective take. The app is interactive, and uses live action video of children to help teach the lessons! Check it on in the App Store, under Behavior with Friends.

Kind words from Shell, at Things I Can’t Say.

This is a sponsored post for teach2talk but all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Wouldn’t it be nice if we could freeze time right in the middle of a situation to explain to our kids the behavior we expect from them in that moment?

Time out, here’s a good choice for you to make, here’s why. Okay, time in, now go do what you should.

Skyhorse Publishing Presents Revolutionary Grandparents

Revolutionary Grandparents 9781510705388We'd like to the Thinking Moms for sharing this blog post by Sandi Marcus and the new book from Skyhorse Publishing.

From Amazon:

What is it like to be part of a very special family, one that revolves around a child’s struggle with autism or a related developmental disorder? In Revolutionary Grandparents, twenty-two grandmothers and grandfathers from the Thinking Moms’ Revolution community share their experience and offer advice to others facing this monumental struggle.

Many of these grandparents have moved in with their children and grandchildren to help with daily tasks—all have had to alter their lives drastically. From their front-row seat, they recount their stories. They describe what they observed and felt as their grandchildren regressed into autism, as well as the challenges their families faced as a result. But more importantly, they also write about the progress and the successes of their grandchildren. No two stories are alike in their details, but each one is similar in its honesty, passion, and overwhelming hope. Positivity is the common thread that ties together this unique collection of mini-memoirs.

Great Father's Day gift for the GrandDad in your child's life.  Order here.

By Sandi Marcus

The question I have been asked so many times is "Why?” Why would you tell your personal story in a book for everyone to know about your struggle as an Autism grand parent.

Dachel Wake Up: VaXxed Reviews

Dachel Morning Wake UoBy Anne Dachel

From Missouri to Oregon, Pennsylvania to Florida, "Vaxxed" is being shown in theaters and reviewed by the press. I've graded each of these 13 stories because reporters need to be held accountable.

The two  things I think are absolutely essential in covering this movie are (1) including the trailer in the online story so the public can see what this is about, and (2) having a reporter who's actually seen the movie and talked to members of the audience.

Reporters who simply sit at their desks and include the talking points higher ups have given them, are a disgrace. Members of the media have an equal share in the blame for what's happened to our children.

Where’s the Outrage? Vaccines and Aborted Fetal Tissue.

Where pinkBy Cathy Jameson

I’m sure many of our readers are aware of the vaccine ingredient I’ll mention in today’s post.  Others have already written about the topic and covered the facts well.  Living Whole and Children of God for Life, for example,  have bravely spoken up about the use of aborted fetal cell lines in vaccine production.  I applaud them.  I wish I could applaud more pro-life groups, but I hardly see them speak up about the topic.

I say that I’m a hardcore Catholic.  But even I’ve yet to take on this subject.  If I were serious about it, I’d have contacted the leaders in my Church about it.  Some leaders have spoken, but their very broad statement seems more of a CYA than anything (and I’m not referring to Catholic Youth Association if you get my drift).

For whatever reason, “the greater good” that vaccines supposedly benefit seems to trump the act of abortion and the use of this ingredient is justified.  It shouldn’t be.  But it is.  I think that needs to change.  So here goes…

I shared this link of vaccine ingredients in a post a few weeks ago.  I’m sharing the link again in today’s post.  I’d like to do that because some of the ingredients that are listed have been on my mind for a few days now.  They’ve actually been on my mind for years, but I haven’t written specifically about them yet.

Someone highlighted the use of aborted fetal tissue use in a screenshot.

that I saw shared on FaceBook not too long ago:

Sitting here reading those highlighted words makes my stomach turn.

More Than "Puppy Love" When Donny Osmond Watches VaXxed

Donny Osmond Andy Wakefield
For those readers of a certain age, this photo is likely to make you swoon and re-up your subscription to Tiger Beat.  Donny Osmond watched VaXxed and met Dr. Andy Wakefield in Salt Lake City, Utah.  Look at this photo. Not sure the pharma shills will be able tell us to "Go away little girl" much longer....  The Salt Lake City Tribune called VaXxed "reprehensible." Imagine their angst when SLC's favorite son had a clearly emotional moment with Dr. Wakefield?" More salt in their tears than the Great Lake itself, likely!

Enjoy this blast from the past. And let's hope for the future.  I watched my oldest "graduate" out of school yesterday. When Donny and Marie were on TV the rate was fewer than 1 in 10,000. KIM

A Family Member Responds to VaXxed

Sister memeNote: You know Cathy Jameson for her weekly posts: sometimes amusing, often heart stopping, always required Sunday reading.  Her sister Bridget went out of her way to see VaXxed The Movie and wrote about the experience. Family members can be our source of the greatest support or the biggest disappointment.   You can read the full post and much more from Cathy at her blog. And since Cathy often ends her Sunday posts with a song, check out my choice at the end of this post. Feel free to dance. It's Friday, after all!  Kim

A Family Member Speaks Up about VaxXed

Painfully aware of what's happened to Ronan, extended family members know that vaccines have done more harm than good.  Not every family member is in agreement - and have made that quite clear to us, but a few have quietly supported us through every hurdle, seizure and setback Ronan has experienced.  I don't know if I'll ever be able to fully express how much our their support means to me.
When I found out that some of our extended family were going to be attending a Vaxxed: From Cover-Up to Catastrophe screening in their area, I cried.  Then I made sure to thank them.  By attending the screening, they jumped out of their comfort zone and bravely spoke up with us.

After seeing Vaxxed, my sister, who has been one of Ronan's biggest and most vocal cheerleaders over the years, felt called to share her thoughts about the film.  I know that she may get flack for sharing what she did on her FB wall, but she shares as an eye witness to what happened to Ronan.  I can think of no one better to offer such important information than someone who has seen firsthand the negative consequences of vaccines.

After I read through her post, I asked my sister if I could share it here.  She said yes, and I'm so glad.

View Screen Shot of Dr. Kalb Blog Questioning Vaccines

Dr Kalb
NOTE: So, if a doctor, a practicing medical doctor with a clean license like Dr. Daniel Kalb, questions vaccine safety - here's what will happen - the "public health" community - meaning Pharma Phield Office will consider actions:  According to the Tennessee Department of Health's website, Kalb has had no disciplinary actions taken against him. It is not clear if his stance on autism and vaccines will provoke to board to take any actions against him.  The average American should ask him or herself - how on earth is a medical doctor at fault for questioning a product that he himself has to administer to patients? How indeed?

We need to support the doctors who dare to speak out. Thank you to JB Handley for this screen shot of the blog post before it was pulled it down.   Seems Dr. Kalb may be learning the hard way about the Pharmafia - who've gone to the mattresses - behind our vaccination program.  (Hey, it's always a good day when you can work a phrase from The Godfather into your intro.)  KS

From FOX 17:

FRANKLIN, Tenn. (WZTV) -- A Franklin doctor is refusing to give vaccines, questioning their safety.

On the Cool Springs Family Medicine's site, Dr. Daniel Kalb wrote in a blog he believed vaccines are linked to autism. The blog has since been taken down... [See screen shot above for the blog post while it was live.]

The CDC and the Tennessee Department of Health say there's no proven link between vaccinations and autism. Both agencies recommend children be vaccinated.

Executive Director of Autism Tennessee Babs Tierno has an autistic son, but she doesn't believe there's a link between the developmental condition and vaccines.

"We want to treat every individual as an individual," Tierno said. "Any medical professional who makes blanket statements and blanket decisions without taking an individualized approach that is a bit concerning."

FOX 17 reached out to Dr. Kalb's office twice this week. An employee told FOX 17 he is not currently commenting on the blog.

According to the Tennessee Department of Health's website, Kalb has had no disciplinary actions taken against him. It is not clear if his stance on autism and vaccines will provoke to board to take any actions against him.... Read more here.

Six Lethal Sins of CDC A Toxic Legacy of Lies: Part 3 Autism Numbers

JOG 3 1
Note: Part 2 and Part 1.

By James O. Grundvig

CDC and NCBDDD Director Coleen Boyle’s other talent, beyond paying foreign mercenary scientists to manipulate data to produce desirable results, has been their ability to knead and suppress the skyrocketing autism incidence rates, which have exploded from 1 in 2,500 in 1990 to 1 in 250 at the start of the new millennium. In 2014, CDC announced ASD rates had shot up yet again to 1 in 68 for every child born in the United States.

Then an odd thing happened on March 31, 2016: CDC announced victory of sorts. Autism rates had stabilized, unchanged from two years ago at 1 in 68. In CDC’s corrupt ivory tower view, it was something to cheer about as it gave the false perception that CDC had the epidemic finally under control. It does not. And the lie of the “better diagnosis epidemic” continues.

The Philadelphia Inquirer website,, gushed: “The autism rates was 1 in 68 children in 2012, the same as it was in 2010, according to the latest data from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.”[1]

But that statement was wrong. In 2010, CDC’s rate of ASD incidence had climbed to 1 in 88. Even if the reporter had been correct, he was taking CDC’s word at blind allegiance, which he could have torpedoed the false number had the reporter done a bare minimum search online. Then, he would have discovered that HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius in October 2009 “had no idea why” the rates had climbed to 1 in 100 children on the spectrum, and said: “The prevalence of autism might be even higher than previously thought . . . We don’t know if it has gone up, and we are hoping to unlock these mysteries.”[2]

No such luck. No mysteries were ever uncovered by HHS, NIH, CDC or any other health agency for the last seven years. Mainstream press never bothered to look into the unmitigated tragedy of a growing legion of children with learning disabilities, leaky guts, shot nervous systems, brain signaling malfunctions, muscle atrophy, and a Vaccine Court that refuses to compensate most of the victims, which number well over one million victims today under 18 years old.

And yet, the announcement had been trumpeted with great relief at CDC, as if Coleen Boyle had run the 26 miles in ancient Greece, from Marathon to Athens, shouting “Nike!” before collapsing to the ground. Two problems, however, emerged for the director of National Center of Birth Defects and Developmental Disabilities in her agency’s victory lap, besides it being false and premature.

CDC Sponsored MMR Study Supports Wakefield’s findings

CdclogoBy F. Edward Yazbak MD

On May 26, 2016, Rohde and Conte published their 4th report on the movie “VAXXED”.

The report was titled “Did the CDC Censor Vaxxed? Or Did the CDC’s Proxies Do It for them? Columbia University’s Dilemma.”

The report and related comments were most informative and readers should review them in order to appreciate the role Professor Ian Lipkin of Columbia University played recently.

Dr. Lipkin's dislike of Dr. Andrew Wakefield is not new. In 2008, Dr. Lipkin co-authored a CDC- AAP sponsored report that I carefully reviewed and critiqued on September 12, 2008. My critique was to be published on Monday September 15, 2008 on the Vaccine Autoimmunity Project (VAP) web site but … it never was, because some time during the weekend, the web site was hacked and destroyed.

Two British vaccine information sites published my review but it was never widely distributed in the United States until today.

The PR Hoax of the Marco Arturo Vaxxer Viral Video

Marco Arturo
Welcome to the world of the pro-vaccination-at-all-costs Pharma government machine.   This brief video explains how A+ Media, Google, Walgreens, Disney and other pro-profit, pro-vax zealots put a video on the fast track to Internet hits.

Levi Quackenboss asked the initial question, "Who is this kid and how did he go viral so fast," on his site.

Update 6-6-2016: Walgreens has revoked their sponsorship of the Marco Arturo article on A Plus after a campaign by Hear This Well and hundreds of parents of vaccine injured children.}

I told myself I was done talking about this little catfish but I have to say one last thing on the matter after some friends were sleuthing around and something became apparent.

In case you missed it, on May 30th Ashton Kutcher shared Marco’s video as a story on Kutcher’s media site A Plus. By then it was starting to go viral, so it’s no surprise that Kutcher’s Buzzfeed-like website picked it up, right?

Maybe.  Maybe they came across it on their own. Maybe on May 30th it was just good fortune that this previously unknown 12-year old in Mexico had someone notify him about Ashton Kutcher’s Facebook status when he was standing by with his smartphone, because that kid shared Kutcher’s post within 21 minutes of it going up. A pretty impressive social media sprint for an unknown kid, but whatever.

Check out this video from  My Incredible Opinion with Forrest Maready. Maready dissects this video with precision from the Google/Internet instant viral position to the actual video production.
