Deirdre Imus Rebuttal to Time.com- Regarding Chemicals in Vaccines

Deirdre logoThank you to Deirdre Imus for sharing this important article with us.  Please bookmark her site Imus Environmental Health for health info you can use.

In a recent article on TIME.com, editor-at-large Jeffrey Kluger snidely compares the similarities between manmade ingredients in vaccines and those naturally occurring in bananas, blueberries, and eggs. It’s an attempt not only to be cute, but also to discredit and demean those of us who are concerned about the safety of childhood vaccines. Or as the mainstream media and others prefer to flippantly call us, “the anti-vaccine crowd” or “anti-vaxxers.”

Such terms are used purposefully and pointedly to make the other side of the argument seem illegitimate. How could the concerns of a bunch of naïve, overwrought parents compare to the scientists proclaiming the safety of vaccines?

Perhaps public health officials and elected representatives have been willfully dishonest on this issue. Maybe they should stop to think why parents are so skeptical about vaccinations in the first place. While some fears might be unfounded, others are based in reality. Maybe one child had a bad reaction to a vaccine, and they’d rather avoid this outcome for a sibling. Maybe they’re uncomfortable with the number of shots children receive at each doctor’s visit, and would prefer to spread these injections out. Or maybe they’ve heard about the possibly devastating side effects vaccines can have, and would rather not take the risk.

To start, there is a big difference between declaring something “safe” and stating there is no “evidence of harm.” That is what public health officials have claimed regarding the mercury, aluminum, and formaldehyde currently present in trace amounts in childhood vaccines. But are trace amounts really “trace” when they are present in every vaccine a child receives over the course of his or her life?

There’s no promise of outright safety, because sometimes vaccines have heartbreaking consequences. If not, why would the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program (VICP) exist? Through this program, any child or adult who has suffered an injury (or worse) following a vaccination can file a claim.

According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the VICP, also known as vaccine court, has paid out approximately $3.18 billion in compensation since 1988. This includes the 2010 case of Hannah Poling, whose family received more than $1.5 million in the first-ever court award for a vaccine-autism claim.

To my knowledge, there is no other consumer product with a court dedicated solely to adjudicating claims filed against it.  Just vaccines. Just something all children in this country are basically required to get from the time they are very small and into adulthood.

If the CDC ever allowed the Vaccine Pandora's Box to open, they would get a reaction somewhat like a nuclear blast and that is why they keep it so tightly locked. Vaccine makers knew that their vaccines caused problem's so that's why they refused to take responsibility for the fallout. So the government assumed the liability of $3.18 billion in compensation since 1988 and that is only payout's to people to fought tooth and nail to get anything at all!

It's all dangerous, Bob. The vaccines (injected), the "Happy" Meal (ingested), and the toxic toys (handled and mouthed). All three should be banned.

"To start, there is a big difference between declaring something “safe” and stating there is no “evidence of harm.” That is what public health officials have claimed regarding the mercury, aluminum, and formaldehyde currently present in trace amounts in childhood vaccines
--------------------------
Front page of my local paper .. headline .. "Happy Meal toys banned in Rockland" ..

"A new law intended to protect children from harmful chemicals has led to a less-than happy outcome: No Happy Meal toys at McDonald's restaurants in Rockland County."

"The law, adopted by the county legislature in June, banned the sale of children's products or clothing that contain benzene, lead, mercury, antimony, arsenic, cadmium, and cobalt". Legislative Chairman introduced the law, citing recent studies that found these potentially harmful chemicals in children's toys and jewelry".

"Westchester adopted a similar law in May, which added formaldehyde to the seven chemicals targeted by Rockland."
--------------------------------
Okay .. but .. silly me .. please explain to me why those chemicals in toys and jewelry are dangerous to the health of our children .. but .. the very same .. some actually even worse .. harmful chemicals are plainly listed among the many suspect ingredients of vaccines that are routinely INJECTED into our precious children? Consider just one:

DTaP-IPV/Hib (Pentacel) .. Aluminum phosphate, polysorbate 80, formaldehyde, sucrose, gutaraldehyde, bovine serum albumin, 2-phenoxethanol, neomycin, polymyxin B sulfate, Mueller's growth Medium, Mueller-Miller casamino acid medium (without beef heart infusion), Stainer-Scholte medium (modified by the addition of casaminio acids and dimethyl-beta-cyclodextrin)MRC-5 (human diploid) cells, CMRL 1969 medium (supplemented with calf-serum) ammonium sulfate, medium 199.

I wouldn't presume myself more intelligent or caring than legislators in Westchester and Rockland counties .. but ..somehow injecting a government approved and recommended DTaP-IPV/Hib (Pentacel) into a perfectly healthy toddler .. seems a little more dangerous to that toddler than a Happy Meal's toy from McDonald's.

Just saying....

Thankyou Barry for your comment- right on the dot. It is important to keep people from even looking at the issue- They might get surprised, intrigued, interested in what they read . Your comment ties in with something I was puzzling about last night. Yesterday I met an Indian shopkeeper who was upset about vaccines. He said that there are too many and Bill Gates is funding them and when I told him that there are schools for autistic kids open or springing open in every area of Delhi and he informed me that there was a new one just close to his shop and my home ! I told him that I just did not know why the doctors never talk about this. Later, thinking about this, I realized why it is so important to keep saying that autism is a mystery. If a doctor thinks that autism is a mystery- well there is nothing for him to learn about it.No need to go on the internet- nothing to research. These are very busy doctors- Why should they investigate something that does not concern them?
And everyone knows that there are therapists - they are always in OTHER PLACES - never near the pediatricians office. The busy doctor thinks: "The parents should go to the therapy center. This has nothing to do with me" . A few of the therapy centers have doctors, but they dont say much about vaccines. How can they? If they discuss the vaccines, the pediatricians will stop referring patients to their clinic.
Autism used to be a disorder that only the fish-eating communities of India knew about. Within a few years, there will be few people who will not have heard about it. My hope is that this issue will come in the forefront here, in a way that it never could in the U.S. It is not at all difficult for many people here to believe that too many vaccines can be a problem. There was always a section of Indian society that was suspicious of vaccines and people here usually have little difficulty in thinking that doctors are "money-minded". Right now the situation is dismal, with most young parents doing what their pediatrician tells them to do, but as the Indian autism tsunami rises higher, the pediatric boat may begin to spring leaks. Im sorry that ultimately Bill Gates will be the most obvious target, when the original sin of the autism disaster lies with the pharmaceutical companies, and American health regulatory agencies.

Or as the mainstream media and others prefer to flippantly call us, “the anti-vaccine crowd” or “anti-vaxxers.”

This is no different than being called a 'conspiracy theorist'. Because what's being said in each case is:

" I must discredit you immediately. Before someone actually listens, and realizes the horrible things that I have done".

It's the establishment's way of marginalizing people like us, by making us all look like loon bags. Because they are absolutely TERRIFIED that people will start listening to what we have to say….. as well they well should be.

The documentary ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PuQTtw_nLoA ) sheds a pretty bright light on how these terms are being used to silence dissent. And how ass-clown journalists like Bill O'Reilly and Anderson Cooper, continue to prove themselves as the world's biggest roadblocks to the evolution of truth.

This documentary truly is eye opening. And IMO, the most telling quote in it came from George Orwell, who said

" The further society drifts from the truth, the more it will hate those who speak it".

Obviously, any doctor who will NOT TAKE

the six month baby vaccines and a mercury flu shot adjusted to their body weight would have to be considered "Anti-vaccine."

It is TIME for someone to do just that...

One more thing: Thanks lots to courageous Deirdre Imus for her well thought out and eloquent response to a really shoddy excuse for journalism. I am now a big fan of hers.

I have always found it interesting that though we spend more than every other developed country on health care we have really dismal outcomes, including I believe I recently read the highest infant mortality of any developed nation. That said, I don't think we should be arrogantly touting our medical care of children as something never to be investigated or questioned. The results appear to suck!

Time used to have a comment section, but now puts up one line from one reader in a box on one page. I wonder why.

Is there a comment section on the Time story? There seems to be a pattern of these mythical articles written by so called experts on vaccines that don't have comments sections to rebuttal them and show the readers just how ignorant these people are. I put Jeffrey Kluger in the same category as daily beast running story's by the pseudo doctor Russell Simmons aka
unknown but lives on the East coast somewhere" who write almost monthly on vaccines and he, who is suppose to be a doctor in the real world, is equally if not more ignorant than Kluger.

This is what I say about Klugers rationalizing myth making, it's too weak, it's haphazardly researched,” can the comparisons be replicated in comparable products,” Kluger is indulging in junk science, flawed science he is a bona fied declared propagandists for the pharmaceutical industry of which Time, as many other MSM myth sites reap the financial benefits from their largess according to RKJ, without exception. Kluger probably spent years challenging any study that linked tobacco to lung cancer. I say this to Kluger, go get your damn Flu Shot, go home than kick back and smoke a Chesterfield or a Camel because studies have show: PROOF Chesterfield Cigarettes have no adverse effects on nose, throat, sinuses -https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TOKc6TNwlj4.

"How could the concerns of a bunch of naïve, overwrought parents compare to the scientists proclaiming the safety of vaccines?"

If .. and .. that is a very big IF .. "concerns of a bunch of naïve overwrought parents" were the ONLY voices raising serious concerns regarding the vaccines and the policies of administering them in the United States .. public health officials and public media labelling them "anti-vaxxers" could be understood .. however .. it is "scientists" and "public health officials" of EVERY other developed country in the world .. that have rejected at least "some" of those very same US vaccine recommendations for children in THEIR COUNTRIES.

I haven't heard US public health officials or main stream media labeling THOSE foreign "scientist" who .. just like many parents in the USA .. are "reluctant" to expose THEIR children to unnecessary risks associated with certain vaccines those foreign "scientists" have determined have "more RISK than BENEFIT" as recommended and approved by "scientists and public health officials in the USA"

By the way .. if "infant mortality rates" are our guide .. those infants born in developed countries that do not vaccinate aggressively as the USA are far more likely to live longer.

Just saying.

In the nineteen sixties a somewhat cosy company making Scotch Whisky brands(Distillers Company DCL of Thalidomide fame) described their own whisky brands as being 'Proprietary Brands' and all others as being non-proprietary brands. 'No evidence of harm' falls into the same pattern of hubris and is probably always untrue. Consumers should use their over-riding power and assert that this is not good enough and the word safe should be insisted upon at all times. PS at the February 2004 Vaccine Safety Conference in Washington independent scientists declared that Thimerosal was unsafe in vaccines at any level.
