Age of Autism Weekly Wrap: What’s Wrong With a Little Speculation?

AofA Red Logo Ayumi YamadaBy Dan Olmsted

I don’t like using question marks in headlines, as in the kind of story you see in some national publications along the lines of, Can Congress Be Fixed? I figure that if someone plunks down a quarter for my newspaper (I’m going back to the old days) they want answers, not questions. A recent example is the CNN headline: Can Starbucks Be Stopped? Please, stop click-baiting and just tell me whether Starbucks Can Be Stopped. Take a stand, for heaven’s sake!

So for example, at AOA we don’t ask, Do Vaccines Cause Autism? We put in the time and effort (and often the tragic personal experience) to be able to say yes, they do. We don’t ask, Did Mercury Cause the First Reported Cases of Autism? We can say yes, it did, based on years of research, travel, interviews and analysis (see The Age of Autism – Mercury, Medicine, and a Man-made Epidemic for the 500-page version, or check out the video link on this page, How Mercury Triggered the Age of Autism, for the 10-minute tale. We aim to answer the question, to tell the truth, in as many ways as possible).

There are, however, a few topics that have been stewing in my mind that, as yet, lack clear answers but raise all kinds of questions. Darwin wrote, “Without speculation there is no good and original observation.” This seems kind of turned around doesn’t it? What I take him to mean is that, given a set of interesting facts, trying to figure out how they fit together can lead to a new way of looking at things. Implicit in the idea of speculation – of wondering how a set of dots might connect -- is trial and error and a willingness to look ridiculous.

In that spirit, here are a few things I’ve been speculating on. Confirmatory or counter-speculation, even ridicule, is most welcome.

Is HPV vaccine bringing down the birth rate?

This idea was first proposed to me by an Australian vaccine safety advocate who was visiting the States. According to my notes from 2014:

“she said the teen birth rate in south australia took a dive in 2008, the year after the vaccine was introduced there. also something similar in europe. she said the vaccine might be killing off the eggs in the ovaries. something to this effect was pubbed in sept 2012 by deirdre little, she thinks in bmj or lancet.”

Checking today, I see a report from 2013:

(LifeSiteNews.com) - The British Medical Journal (BMJ) Case Reports journal has reported that a healthy 16-year-old Australian girl lost all ovarian function and went into menopause after being injected with the human papilloma virus (HPV) vaccine Gardasil.

“Dr. Deirdre Little, the Australian physician who treated the girl, provides solid evidence that Gardasil caused the destruction of the girl's fertility.

“She also pointed out that Merck Pharmaceutical, the manufacturer of Gardasil, has no supporting information on the effects of the vaccine on ovaries, suggesting that Merck had either done no safety testing on Gardasil in relation to its effects on women's reproductive systems, or had suppressed the information.”

My notes from 2014 continue:

“Wonder if this could explain sharp drop in u.s.

press release -- “(Washington, DC)-The U.S. teen birth rate declined 8 percent in 2011, according to new data released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's National Center for Health Statistics. Since the recent peak in 1991, the teen birth rate has declined 49 percent and declined a full 25 percent between 2007 and 2011 alone. The overall national teen birth rate as well as rates for all age groups and all racial/ethnic groups are at historic lows.

"The continued decline in the nation's teen birth rate has been positively breathtaking and the credit for this remarkable national success story goes to teens themselves," said Sarah Brown, CEO of The National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy.”

My colleague Mark Blaxill noted to me then that “the 2007 to 2011 drop would correspond almost exactly with the introduction of Gardasil in late 2006.”

There are a couple of related issues regarding women’s health that I’m also speculating on:

Has the aluminum, or other ingredients, in deodorant led to a spike in breast cancer?

I’ve had women tell me they are very suspicious this might be true based on their own experience and that of other women they know.

Is the fact that women start wearing makeup in adolescence – or some other environmental factor like vaccines -- related to the anorexia that affects mostly women and starts about then?

Anorexia is one of those disorders that just doesn’t seem like a psychogenic condition to me. Mark and I have done a lot of work on hysteria, which supposedly afflicted young women in 19th century, and we believe “hysteria” was often misdiagnosed mercury poisoning. We’ve also looked into the tic disorders at New York High Schools that authorities quickly blamed on the girls’ psyches rather than doing a thorough investigation of highly plausible environmental associations (especially pesticides).

The idea that girls suddenly stop eating because of some self-image issue seems less likely to me than the idea that something physical is screwing up their metabolism. In fact, in the very first case of hysteria presented by Freud – Anna O. – anorexia was a large part of her illness. In our view she was also the prime example of mercury exposure from taking care of her ailing father in the early 1880s just as mercuric chloride came into wide use as an antiseptic.

Makeup has all kinds of crap in it, I’m sure. That doesn’t make make-up the culprit, but I would want to exhaust all environmental possibilities before blaming the girls themselves.

Do some people develop the delusional idea that angels are talking to them through their fillings because they got mercury fillings that are making them think funny?

I am sure there are those who will conclude I am the one who is thinking funny, but we’ve connected mercury with delusions of grandeur, and what is grander than angels talking to you? If on Monday you don’t hear angels, on Tuesday you go get a mercury filling, and on Wednesday you do hear angels, it might be natural to believe that they are speaking through the filling -- which, in a sense, they are!

Did toxic exposures kill Oliver Sacks?

The esteemed neurologist and writer died this year of a rare tumor, ocular melanoma. I wrote about Sacks in 2011,  based on his account of his own “face-blindness” in The New Yorker. Sacks and others with the strange deficit (including Anna O.!) had backgrounds of exposure to metals, especially mercury, I wrote, and Sacks talked about it in his autobiographical 2001 book, Uncle Tungsten:

“Many of my childhood memories are of metals: these seemed to exert a power over me from the start. They stood out, conspicuous against the heterogeneousness of the world, by their shining, gleaming quality, their silverness, their smoothness and weight. They seemed cool to the touch, and they rang when they were struck. …

“Every month or so, I stocked my lab with visits to a chemical supply house … Beneath the serried urns and bottles on the shelves were great carboys of acid – sulfuric, nitric, aqua regia; globular china bottles of mercury (seven pounds of this would fit into a bottle the size of a fist), and slabs and ingots of the commoner metals.” Sacks took home whatever he wanted and experimented with abandon, his curiosity overcoming caution:

“When one of my mercury fillings came out, I was able to distill off the mercury, unchanged.” “Reading of Lavoisier and the ‘pneumatic’ chemists who preceded him stimulated me to experiment more with heating metals and making oxygen, too. I wanted to heat it by making mercuric oxide – the way Priestly had first made it in 1774 – but I was afraid, until the fume cupboard was installed, of toxic mercury fumes.”

It’s just speculation once again, but I wonder if both Sacks’ face-blindness and his rare ocular cancer had a common source. Somewhat relatedly, I see an awful lot of metals exposure in savants, especially autistic ones, and I suspect that there might be a connection. But that’s a topic for another day (and book!).

Is mercury related to gender identity issues?

Recently I’ve become familiar with two young men who have self-identified as women. This is the whole gender identity issue that has burst into public awareness with Caitlyn Jenner. Personally, I’m happy and in fact grateful whenever anyone feels free to be who they are and not hide it from the world.

I do wonder whether there is a environmental component to this phenomenon. One of the young men I’m familiar with has ADHD, and his mother was Rh-negative and stuck full of mercury while she was pregnant with him (another sibling has even worse ADHD). The second young man has a very pronounced tic disorder. I associate both ADHD and tics with mercury and I can’t help but wonder – can’t help but speculate – whether the barrage of mercury vaccines in the 1990s, continuing now with the flu shot, could be a factor.

Are Marine vets killing themselves because war was hell, or because they took medicine that can cause suicide?

Last month, the Times ran an in-depth profile of a Marine unit that fought in Afghanistan: “In unit stalked by suicide, veterans tried to save one another.”The article reported:Almost seven years after the deployment, suicide is spreading through the old unit like a virus. Of about 1,200 Marines who deployed with the 2/7 in 2008, at least 13 have killed themselves, two while on active duty, the rest after they left the military. The resulting suicide rate for the group is nearly four times the rate for young male veterans as a whole and 14 times that for all Americans.”

Many of you will know that I’ve reported for more than a decade on the tragic side effects of the drug mefloquine (brand name Lariam) used to prevent and treat malaria. It clearly has caused suicides and even homicidal violence -- behavior the drugmaker warns can persist indefinitely -- and it was a big mistake to ever give it to people who carry guns for a living.

Was Lariam a factor here? That’s speculation, but an impeccable source wrote me that in this unit “they all almost certainly took mefloquine. The drug undoubtedly played some role. You would need to establish that the Marines experienced symptoms of prodromal toxicity while taking the drug to have a story, I think -- vivid dreams, anxiety, insomnia, etc.”

I fail to see how the VA is doing everything it can to help veterans when an appalling suicide rate is never investigated to see if the drug is involved. (Ditto the media, which never asks about this.) Maybe the fact the U.S. military invented and mandated mefloquine for soldiers is part of the reason, just as the fact that the government approves and recommends vaccines is part of the reason we don’t yet have an answer to – or even acknowledgement of – the autism epidemic.

That’s just speculation, of course.

As to amalgam fillings and a speaking voice coming from amalgams, it is known that, if an amalgam filling sits in the amalgam-filled tooth next to another metal e.g. gold, there is a chance that the two metals act like a radio receiver. It has been reported that you can hear a radio station. The talking voice may not be an angel, but it might be real nevertheless.

About HPV bringing down the birth rate, I guess we'll never find out because that kind of thing will never be studied. Bill Gates has been accused of wanting to control the world population. It would sure be cynical if that is the way he wants to do it.

Lisa

I thought the breast cancer issue was resolved already: The dramatic increase is due to the use of synthetic hormones (e.g. birth control pills). Birth control pills may not directly cause cancer, per se, but what the research shows is that if you develop cancer cells, birth control pills are like pouring fuel on a fire -- they cause rapid spread of what might otherwise be very slow-growing and otherwise benign irregular cell growth.

It was truly bizarre when they came out that hormone replacement therapy for menopausal women caused an increase in breast cancer deaths. Yet, those are the exact same hormones, given in much small amounts, as what are in birth control pills. And nobody said a word about the elephant in the room: If HRT causes breast cancer deaths, then so do birth control pills. Duh.....

Cynthia Cournoyer

Excellent article. Speculation is the seed to discovery.

But, hasn't deodorant always had aluminum? Didn't it have aluminum in the 60's and 70's at least? The breast cancer rate was not nearly as high as it is now. Whenever most people try to speculate on the cause of something they never look at vaccines. I would like to go there first. If you are questioning immune failure (cancer for instance) it seems like the first place to go is something that is designed to manipulate and/or suppress the immune system. Add cancer-causing ingredients and then inject them on a regular basis. It seems like that would be the first place to look.

The walks and jogathons are never about the cause. Always about the cure. If we knew the cause of cancer, we could simply avoid that thing. You can't patent avoidance. You can't treat avoidance. You can't sell care for a person who just walked away from something that was dangerous.

Speculatin'

To add to my comment, most published genetics is about disease states while studying how to reproduce positive or neutral human traits tends to be the territory of eugenics which, because it's axiomatically being conducted by crazy people by virtue of the scheme itself, rarely turns out as planned (Mengele trying to create blue eyes in The Boys from Brazil, etc.).

Point being, homosexuality, like being the first redhead in three generations, etc., is likely to be naturally occurring in the human population to a certain extent and just fine and dandy. But anything naturally occurring might conceivably be randomly reproduced in the vast human experiment of the pharma and industrial chemical age. Obviously many who are born redheads or with blue eyes or gay can be perfectly healthy but I would suspect that chemical induction of the same effect would bring with it significant health problems.

That's how industry rolls. While I doubt new eugenicists will ever manage to create smarter embryos that don't also die of cancer before they turn a year old, it's much easier for an industry that regularly produces disasters to decide that some of those disasters might have a desirable effect-- like HPV and population reduction.

Speculatin'

A lot of interesting questions.

My father's experience in war was horrific and he was left partly disabled. No drugs though. Even when he lay dying from the effects of a flu shot, he refused any kind of palliative medicine and was furious when nurses tried to sneak it on him. The military suicides had been ramping up before he died and he felt it was the drugs more than PTSD.

After gradual paralysis, my father bled to death through his intestines. One reason we understood what killed him was that I received a shot from the same flu shot vial that killed my father and developed Guillain-Barre. And of the many pleasant effects of GBS is upper intestinal inflammation-- the terminal ileum that's notoriously impacted in autism.

It really caused huge discomfort from everything I ate, so I barely ate anything until a restricted diet began turning it around. At the time I said "Aha-- this might partly explain why some girls stop eating!" Had the pain and discomfort been tied to adolescent body image, I could see how that painful distension could make girls feel "fat."

It's an extremely difficult thing to describe. I would just tell people that, after eating, it felt like I'd swallowed a chest-burster from the Alien series. The very feeling of clothes on skin causes pain, you can't sit. It *felt* like pregnancy except it was more a sensory thing than a visual effect. I knew I was too thin and worked to fix the problem, but I would guess that, in adolescents still receiving shots, this could contribute to body dysmoprhic issues coupled with vaccine and toxically-induced OCD. If you throw in the social junk food eating that ramps up in the teenage years, toxic make up, hair products, etc., I can imagine this amplifying the effects and it begs the question of whether the "autism diet" could reverse it. It did for me-- something I learned about from recovering vaccine injured kids.

As far as gender identity effects of mercury, there was that study of male white ibises nesting together after mercury exposure. https://www.newscientist.com/article/dn19784-mercury-poisoning-makes-male-birds-homosexual/

The study wasn't discussed that much, probably because the story was instantly picked up by the bigoted fringe and the rest probably felt uncomfortable throwing another layer of stigma onto gender identity. But there can be several routes to causing similar outcomes. For instance, various genetic conditions can be "reproduced" through the wonders of modern drugs and chemistry-- how some people develop Niemann-Picks from antipsychotics or how scientists create knock-out mice.

If anyone remembers the made for TV Bruce Jenner story from the 70's, the reason he started running was in order to get home and take his urine stained sheets off the laundry line before the other school children passed by his house after school. His mother would hang them out to shame him out of wetting the bed.

Re anorexia

http://ajp.psychiatryonline.org/doi/pdf/10.1176/appi.ajp.2008.08020233

It seems those reporting consider the mercury toxicity secondary, but they do reference a German report:

"Interestingly, mercury poisoning as a result of dental amalgam fillings may cause an anorexic syndrome (anorexia hydrargyrum) (4).

...

"4. Dörffer U: Anorexia Hydrargyra: Kasuistik aus der Praxis [Anorexia hydrargyra. A case report from general practice] published in German in Monatsschr Kinderheilkd. 1989; 137:472"

I remember a few years ago seeing/getting into a discussion about some make-up product in which thimerosal was a major component (can't remember the specific product):

http://www.ewg.org/skindeep/ingredient/706528/THIMEROSAL/

I've also read about lead contamination in cosmetics.

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/25043485

Aluminum seems to be a cosmetic staple, and probably not as studied as should be.

And then you add all the hygenic (anti-bacterial?, aluminum laced antiperspirants) and styling potions that many teens want to try for this and that reason...there are likely co-contributing toxicities, maybe toxic synergies that get past whatever testing is done.

Cherry Misra

@ Kari Bridwell, there is no one study that proves that vaccines cause autism, but I think it is Vaccination News website that has a compilation entitled something like "90 Studies Show that Thimerosal is the Probable Cause of Autism." There may never be any study that proves that vaccines cause autism because you cant put kids in cages and control their lives and inject them with mercury or other substances in vaccines, in the way we do with animals. I think one of the most convincing articles on the topic which I have seen recently is an article by Anne Dachel about Dr. Toni Bark in which Dr. Bark states very clearly that she has never seen an autistic child among non vaccinated kids and not even among kids whose parents delayed vaccines and didnt give all vaccines. Other doctors have said the same and I think we in the autism world need to give more press to these statements.

@Lisa, Your comments about schizophrenia are right on the dot. I would like to add a comment- The Scandinavians, according to what I have read, often have poor genes for excreting mercury. while it is likely that rates of schizophrenia may fall with the end of mercury amalgams, it is also possible that mercury in fish is a big problem . Dont be surprised if you find that Scandinavians are the recipients of a subtle barrage of advertising encouraging them to believe that you just cant have good health if you dont eat fish frequently.
Just watch what happens, friends- Whenever you see any article about a good research project that takes note of the mercury dangers of fish- about 2 weeks later the articles about the nutritional wonders of fish will be publiched. And lets admit it- We all prefer to believe something that fits with what is already in our mindset- therefore you will find that the fish-eating populations around the world, are pleased to tell you how good fish is for your health. There was one notable exception that I ran into. This was a couple from Kerala, a part of India where many people eat fish daily. As I explained to them that they needed to be careful about fish, they smiled and said they had already heard that from the husbands' brother, a doctor at Mayo clinic! Hey , Mayo Clinic ! way to go- Maybe there is some hope that metals will one day be recognized for the huge danger they are.
and Lisa, I think you will find, that around the world, populations that eat a lot of fish will have comments like this in their health surveys: "High rate of mental illness" I recall looking into health surverys of the Maoris and finding that- just what I had expected

I'm so sorry that your brother is suffering from schizophrenia. He is very fortunate to have you advocating for him. Thanks so much for sharing your insight and some of what you have learned.

Great thought provoking article, as usual, Dan. I had the same thought about gender identity issues as Christine. I think it's the plastic exposure, which goes way back. When we were kids there was tupperware and plastic used in many other applications. In the 1970's, food can linings were for the first time made out of BPA, an epoxy, which as you know, is an endocrine disrupter that can, among other things, interfere with gender identity. I don't think it is a naturally occurring phenomenon that so many people are dealing with this.

Kari,
My baby reacted to the hep-B shot at birth, given without permission, with screaming syndrome and vaccine encephalitis. To the DTaP at 18 months by losing her only two words and being diagnosed with autism two months later. I'd recommend you read a lot of books which prove that vaccines cause autism, other kinds of neurological injury like seizure disorders, and autoimmune disease. Maybe start with the anthology Vaccine Epidemic, then Randall Neustaedter's The Vaccine Guide and Dr. Mayer Eisenstein's Make an Informed Vaccine Decision. Aviva Jill Romm's Vaccines. Look at the websites Vaxtruth by Marcella Piper Terry (especially the sarcastically-named "Vaccines do not cause autism") and Inside Vaccines. Look at Adventures in Autism's old articles, especially at the list of scientific studies proving that vaccines cause autism "No Evidence of any Link" (also sarcastically titled). The wonderful book The Age of Autism. Evidence of Harm (big-time proof that vaccines cause autism). Shaken Baby Syndrome or Vaccine Encephalitis by Dr. Harold Buttram, a lot of scientific data on how vaccines can cause encephalitis and autism. Look up all the hilarious articles by Levi Quackenboss.

Thanks Dan, confirms, everything I think as well, especially when someone tells me about an illness they or someone has had. I always stop and think ,before depressing them, with my first thought of ,(probably a vaccine) ,and then I ask, “well tell me what happened”?...and so that I don’t sound like a stuck record, repeating the vaccines voice, in my head, I say again “well I wondered how that happened?”. Of course like minded people just say, this cold I get every year it has all they symptoms of the DTP vaccine, or whatever poison it shows symptoms of, cheery creatures that we aren’t us truthseekers.
My friend puts her schizophrenic behaviour ,dates it to the date she had 5 mercury fillings in her head aged 16 years old, diagnosed at 17 years old ,clever girl trainee legal secretary, aged 56 now skitso, all her life and still has the fillings in.Some people just don’t listen, ignorance is bliss for some, but wilful blindness by psychiatrists et-al is CRIMINAL, yes were talking about YOU the allopathic medical profession ,shame on you.

Another friend was 15 years as a captain in the Marines served in Iraq etc, seen a lot of battles, his words were “lariam sat in the mess in a bowl, like a sweetie bowl, and you helped yourself to it ,if you felt feverish” that’s the instruction they were given, if you felt ill, feverish ,”dive in”.He has some temper 0-100 in a split second ,where most people loose it gradually…0-100 over days or weeks, not him smallest thing that’s it…RAGE!

I wish I could finish on a happier note ,but you know how it is…I was on my Facebook and thought I would pop over here to cheer myself up..bad idea.. because I got sent a video on chem trails, and this one caught my eye, because it had a CNN reporter in the corner of it? Strange all my so called, nut friends, have conspiracy tendencies, so really weird seeing a CNN reporter ,anywhere near my friends posts, but anyway, I seen the words “memes, and gems”. Intrigued, I pressed play and it gets better. Memes and gems are chems ,and now they are putting small transmitters ”smart dust” out into the clouds via planes, so that the weather can be tracked more accurately, and also , use the weather as a weapon of war(if they aren’t already). These transmitters are made of gold ..eventually it is recognised in the video, that these micro nano-transmitters are heavier than air, and will fall eventually to earth, landing in our water supplies, or our unfortunate barbeques, breathing them in after they have given real time info back on the weather. A scientist is giving running excuse’s , in the video, and the scientist says, “ the particle is that small that it will probably be coughed back out if breathed in” now I think, what if it isn’t??do these transmitters, transmit after we ingest them? I would think they probably do? So that would mean that we could be tracked? controlled?? .Well I just want to emphatically state, that no mercury, vaccines, Lariam were taken whilst writing this …as they say we don’t need to make it up..When vaccines become obsolete, more heavy metal will be put into the planet via smart dust….for the better good of mankind, and the unfortunate few billion, who don’t respond well, to heavy metals ,well they are just the unfortunate few

Population control thru vaccination has been recorded as far back as 1966, probably back to the Eugenics movement. Vaccines would be a really efficient and difficult to trace to accomplish this. If you review the names of people who are members of the Eugenics movement you will discover they are part of the elite that many writers discuss in their writings.

The following is how the United Nations defines Agenda 21….
-Agenda 21 is a comprehensive plan of action to be taken globally, nationally and locally by organizations of the United Nations System, Governments, and Major Groups in every area in which human impacts on the environment.

Al Gore made the following statement in 2011 regarding population control….

“One of the things we could do about it is to change the technologies, to put out less of this pollution, to stabilize the population, and one of the principle ways of doing that is to empower and educate girls and women. You have to have ubiquitous availability of fertility management so women can choose how many children have, the spacing of the children.

You have to lift child survival rates so that parents feel comfortable having small families and most important — you have to educate girls and empower women. And that’s the most powerful leveraging factor, and when that happens, then the population begins to stabilize and societies begin to make better choices and more balanced choices.”

Do you notice how whenever global leaders talk about “empowering” women these days it always ends up with them having less children?

This population control agenda is also reflected in official UN documents.

The following is language from a UN resolution that was adopted by the UN General Assembly that was designed to further the implementation of Agenda 21….

“….population growth rates have been declining globally, largely as a result of expanded basic education and health care. That trend is projected to lead to a stable world population in the middle of the twenty-first century… The current decline in population growth rates must be further promoted through national and international policies that promote economic development, social development, environmental protection, and poverty eradication, particularly the further expansion of basic education, with full and equal access for girls and women, and health care, including reproductive health care, including both family planning and sexual health, consistent with the report of the International Conference on Population and Development.”

Most Americans don’t grasp it yet, but the truth is that the global elite are absolutely obsessed with population control. In fact, there is a growing consensus among the global elite that they need to get rid of 80 to 90 percent of us.

You also have Bill Gates famous statement:
"The world today has 6.8 billion people... now if we do a really great job on new vaccines, healthcare, reproductive health services, we could lower that (number) by perhaps 10 or 15%." "Vaccines are something I love."

Factor in: THE ROCKEFELLER FOUNDATION PRESIDENT'S FIVE-YEAR REVIEW ANNUAL REPORT 1966

In its 1968 yearly report, the Rockefeller Foundation acknowledged funding the development of so-called “anti-fertility vaccines” and their implementation on a mass-scale. From page 51 onward we read:

“(…) several types of drugs are known to diminish male fertility, but those that have been tested have serious problems of toxicity. Very little work is in progress on immunological methods, such as vaccines, to reduce fertility, and much more research is required if a solution is to be found here.”

The possibility of using vaccines to reduce male fertility was something that needed to be investigated further, according to the Rockefeller Foundation, because both the oral pill and the IUD were not suitable for mass-scale distribution:

“We are faced with the danger that within a few years these two “modern” methods, for which such high hopes have been held, will in fact turn out to be impracticable on a mass scale.”

“A semipermanent or renewable subcutaneous implant of these hormones has been suggested, but whether or not the same difficulties would result has not been determined.”

Saying that research thus-far had been too low-grade to produce any substantial results, the report was adamant:

“The Foundation will endeavor to assist in filling this important gap in several ways:

1- “Seeking out or encouraging the development of, and providing partial support to, a few centers of excellence in universities and research institutions in the United States and abroad in which the methods and points of view of molecular biology are teamed with the more traditional approaches of histology, embryology, and endocrinology in research pertinent to development of fertility control methods;”

2- “Supporting research of individual investigators, oriented toward development of contraceptive methods or of basic information on human reproduction relevant to such developments;”

3- “Encouraging, by making research funds available, as well as by other means, established and beginning investigators to turn their attention to aspects of research in reproductive biology that have implications for human fertility and its control;”

4- “Encouraging more biology and biochemistry students to elect careers in reproductive biology and human fertility control, through support of research and teaching programs in departments of zoology, biology, and biochemistry.”

"Regarding corruption surrounding the recommendation of influenza vaccines; there are no restrictions with regard to conflicts of interest for the employees of the CDC or for those of the FDA (Kuehn, 2010). Each employee of either agency is allowed to own stock in drug companies. There is of course the revolving door. The most blatant example of revolving door corruption may be the action of the former director of the CDC, Julie Gerberding. Gererding blocked the CDC's planned retraction of their recommendation for HPV vaccine after significant numbers of girls had died or been rendered paralyzed by the HPV vaccine. Soon after blocking the retraction, Gerberding was offered and took a position at Merck, the manufacturer of Gardasil, the world's best selling HPV vaccine, as head of Merck Vaccines Department (Reuters, 2009). It is a level of corruption that we would expect to see in only third world countries."

PANDAS Mom

All great questions! Anorexia, to one degree or another, seems to affect a large proportion of kids with PANDAS/PANS. I've heard about it in kids as young as 5 or 6, along with OCD, tics, separation anxiety, general anxiety, rages, etc, etc. Before treatment, our son wouldn't eat if there were bees around, or if he could see stickers or someone with a tattoo, so it seemed to be a type of OCD. But many of PANDAS/PANS kids stop eating all together and have to be hospitalized and/or fed through a tube. Like kids with autism, many of them are dealing with mercury and other heavy metal toxicity, leaky gut, vitamin/mineral deficiencies, mold toxicity, chronic Lyme, chronic viruses, chronic strep, candida, food allergies, and methylation issues, so it's a very complicated puzzle.

Thank you for bringing up all of these questions!

Lisa,
You're right about schizophrenia being caused by mercury, but the mercury poisoning can come from vaccines as well as from dental fillings. A homeopath told me in June that a fever can pull stored mercury from the bones and unleash it to wreak havoc. I got symptoms of the MS I suffer from (from nine DPTs) immediately after a high fever I had in Italy. My autistic daughter and also my Asperger's nephew got the first symptoms of bowel disease, extremely severe, chronic constipation, after a high fever: my daughter from a summer flu in 2007 and my nephew from a high fever and bronchitis not long after that. My uncle as a young man fell asleep (probably drunk) on a boat dock in the hot sun, and when he woke up showed the first symptoms of his schizophrenia. This is too much to be a coincidence. I first read in Dan and Mark's book The Age of Autism about the astronomical increase of schizophrenia and other forms of mental illness in the wake of mercury toxicity from industrialization in the early nineteenth century. It would be worth a study to find out how often it is a question of mercury poisoning in susceptible people followed by an episode of fever or environmental heat which pulls out the stored mercury, resulting in autism, schizophrenia, possibly many other conditions as well. Julie Gerberding told Sanjay Gupta with reference to Hannah Poling's getting autism after having a high fever reacting to a large number of vaccines she got all at once, that yes, a fever can trigger autism in children with a "pre-existing" rare mitochondrial disorder. In reality, this disorder is CAUSED by vaccine mercury rather than being pre-existing. Hannah's mother is said to have the disorder, which shows that both she and Hannah had the predisposition to store the vaccine mercury and develop the mitochondrial disorder (see Boyd Haley's work on this).

A fairly large group of teens have not taken the vaccine, so right now it might be straightforward to study if HPV vaccine does significantly impact fertility (as straightforward as any "speculative" road can run counter to big pharma's agenda(s)).

Of course the same teens had the 1990s TCVs and it possibly annual flu vaccines, dtap boosters, etc. GMOs with glyphosate sprayed everywhere, cellphones, moms with high copper amalgam, ...

Dan, I assume you are aware that BPA levels measured in umbilical cord blood corresponds to genital changes in newborn boys? The higher the BPA, the shorter the ano-genital distance- in other words, boys are more like girls. BPA is everywhere in the environment, and also used in (some) IV tubing to make it more flexible. Pregnant women with severe morning sickness often get several rounds of IV hydration. I think a lot about what you are saying. The current crop of teens and young adults are said to be more "gender fluid" and this is chalked up to greater acceptance, or something. I of course wonder about these mostly unmeasured, and unmeasurable, potential environmental causes.

AnneS

I find the gender identity question particularly interesting. My daughter is in college now, and the dorm is teeming with young adults that are either asexual (typically spectrum kids), or bisexual, or transexual. Part of me thinks it's just the acceptance that is part of our culture today, giving them freedom to choose, but part of me reads about the fish and the birds and frogs being affected by mercury and other chemicals in our environment.

Benedetta

Teresa; It is always good to hear your findings.
What gives me the creeps - is that rats that become infected with Toxoplasma- become sexually excited at the smell of cat urine and track those cats - down to be eaten by cats --

Ahhh, all those horror stories about aliens infecting us and bursting open -- no wonder we are so scared of infection and diseases that we are willing to vaccinate ourselves back to the stone age - if not all the way unto death.

But we must face our fears - and understand the true science behind our microbiome so we can be all that we were meant to be .

Lisa

Here's another one for you, Dan:

Is the singular, root cause of schizophrenia, in all its devastating forms, inhalation of mercury vapors from dental amalgams? Crazy idea? Yes, absolutely. Nonetheless, I have begun my own quest for an answer to this seemingly absurd question, and so far, I can find no evidence to contradict it.

Here are some interesting facts I've amassed in the past year:

1) Schizophrenia and autism appear to be very closely related disorders, if not actually the same disorder striking at different times. Nearly every thing you can say about autism -- genetically, biologically, socially, emotionally -- can be said of schizophrenia, and vice versa. E.G. Both are gender-biased in favor of males. Both also disproportionately affect blacks. Those two factors strongly implicate a role for high testosterone in both disorders. Poor methylation appears to play a strong role in both disorders. Both appear to be immune-mediated inflammatory diseases that respond positively to the same immune modulator and anti-inflammatory treatments. Both involve sudden, pronounced social withdrawal and loss of learned communication skills. (This is just a partial list of the similarities; there are many more.) The main difference between the two appears to be age of onset.

2) As you have shown in your research, autism appears to be strongly linked to mercury exposure.

3)Schizophrenia was first described in the medical literature in the mid-1800s.

4)Mercury amalgams were first adopted on a wide scale in dental care around 1840 (a decision which set off the Amalgam Wars in the field of dentistry).

5)Schizophrenia remains rare today among the following populations:

- people living in extreme poverty (poor access to dental care)
- people living in rural areas (poor access to dental care)
- people not living in extreme poverty or rural areas but who for other reasons have very poor access to dental care (e.g. Pacific Islanders)
- people who eschew all conventional medicine and dentistry (e.g. the Amish)

6)Schizophrenia is most prevalent in the Scandanavian countries, which historically have had the best access to medical and dental care.

7)The negative symptoms of schizophrenia sound eerily similar to erethism: Sudden, pathological shyness; extreme social withdrawal; loss of self-confidence and self-esteem; apathy, all of which were originally described as part of Mad Hatter's disease, which in turn was found to be caused by continuous exposure to mercury vapors.

8) The positive symptoms of schizophrenia (e.g. hallucinations, extreme agitation, delusions) are known effects of mercury poisoning.

9) The most intense leeching of mercury vapors occurs during the first five years after placement; schizophrenia symptoms generally plateau around five years after onset, after which point, the drugs that patients are maintained on (dopamine blockers) and/or conditioned to be dependent on(benzos) become the biggest obstacles to any level of recovery.

10) After more than 150 years of research, the cause of schizophrenia remains unknown, strongly suggesting (to me at least) that researchers have a blind spot, which prevents them for looking in the most obvious places, namely their own professions.

Call me CRAZY. I don't mind. Better yet, show me evidence that refutes this theory.

Regardless, we may be about to know the answer: Several of those Scandanavian countries have recently -- in the past six years -- banned mercury amalgams (and all other forms of mercury in medicine and dentistry). So, we should have an answer within a few years, if the countries with the highest rates of schizophrenia suddenly have the lowest. Won't that be interesting...

Dan,

Your speculations are surrounded by facts and I agree so much. I wanted to add that anorexia, and eating disorders in general, are being added to the long list of diseases of the microbiome.

The microbiome keeps taking hits from the environment -- ie MAN and the list gets longer. Keep up the excellent reporting as remember you were called Columbo for your never giving up on the answers or the culprits.

Good observations! And I am most certain that we have the answers too --When enough evidence comes together in the science field you are allowed to make a hypothesis.

It took me 25 years -- I am slow to get that the drug problems of this area is driven by soft brain injuries.

The parents of pre-teen and teenagers sense there is something wrong but are told it is normal for teenagers to be blue and depressed or up and partying and running around with friends; peeling them off the walls sort of behavior. Now a days it is okay and normal that they get so mad they punch a wall!

A doctor friend that visited recently when I commented on it all said it just normal growing up - that her own daughter had put a hole in the wall, but all was okay cause they made her repair it

Repair it? She might attempt to repair it, but Daddy would have to do the detailed work.
No, this is not normal when I was growing up.

We already have a ton, ton, ton of young adult that have arrived into full blown drug addiction; and some time during that period they were growing up - we have picked up a bunch of us adults too.

Notice that we did okay in the 60s with the lead in the gas -- but we got it out right - cleaned up our waters, and air - regulated it all till we are now all alarmed about stuff like CO2 that we actually breath out.

Never, ever did we see that the health "industry" would be what would do us in, with vaccines and then on top of that pills and meds.

In the UK, the Ministry of Defence is to undertake an inquiry into military prescribing of Larium. Not before time.

Lariam: Military use of anti-malaria drug linked to ‘psychotic behavior’ probed
Published time: 15 Oct, 2015 15:44
Extract:-
"Health concerns over British soldiers who were given Lariam, an anti-malarial drug which can allegedly induce psychotic behavior, has prompted the Commons Defence Select Committee to hold an inquiry into Ministry of Defence (MoD) use of the drug.
The inquiry comes after an investigation by the Independent revealed more than 1,000 service personnel had been treated for psychiatric problems after being prescribed the drug" since 2008.
Lariam is a once-a-week anti-malarial tablet which has been associated with psychotic behavioral side effects including depression and hallucinations.
A statement from the committee read: “The Committee believes that this is a matter which merits further scrutiny. Therefore, it intends to take oral evidence on the use of Lariam by the armed forces. Details of witnesses and terms of reference will be announced in due course.”

Ottoschnaut

Dr. Remington Nevin has been writing for years, and testified in front of Senate Arms Services, that Lariam causes encephalopathy of the limbic system of the brain. He is with you on Lariam being a risk factor for suicide.

Talk to military folks. Days they take Lariam are called "Wacky Wednesday" because people act just a little, you know, psychotic.

You have touched a mighty interesting point with the idea of HPV vaccine possibly being linked to plummeting birth rates. I am sure our gutless politicans will not be alsrmed. Thanks for a thought provoking column.

I am positive my daughter did not have autism until she received vaccines. She was talking making eye contact and developing normally. She received shots around 18 months then she stopped talking. She started having sensory overload and became a very picky eater. Can you tell me where I can get all the information that proves vaccines are the cause.

Jenny Allan

Thanks for bringing this to our attention Dan, and NO - you are not being ridiculous. One of the nastiest aspects of 'today's science' is the complete refusal to address any kind of 'lateral thinking' which does not fit in with the nice cosy political/corporate sponsored propaganda dressed up as science, but which is really about corporate profits and political and academic corporate 'sponsorship'. This, of course, includes any scientific research findings, which do not 'fit in ' with the (often hidden) corporate and political agendas.

In the UK, children over the age of 12 can consent to vaccinations and medicines, without the consent of their parents. It's very difficult for our young girls, vaccinated in their secondary school premises, to refuse HPV vaccinations in the face of enormous pressure from teachers, nurses and peer groups. Why would any sensible girl refuse a jab which will 'save' her from cancer? EXCEPT of course the vaccine has not yet been proven to prevent anything, except a few usually transient strains of HPV; (there are around 100 HPV strains). We will not know for years whether or not this vaccine prevents cervical cancer, which usually manifests in middle age.

Currently, there are huge concerns about HPV vaccinations in a number of countries worldwide, and yet, in spite of mounting evidence of immense harm to large numbers of previously healthy young girls, governments are stubbornly refusing to ban or put a moratorium on this vaccine, pending further research. In the US there is an apparently unstoppable push to make this vaccine mandatory, for boys as well as girls.

It never occurred to me that HPV vaccine might be used as a Trojen Horse to reduce world population, but the 'logic' of this is perfectly reasonable, given that Bill Gates, whose foundation massively funds world vaccination programmes, has publicly stated this as an aim.

I am vastly relieved I was able to persuade my gorgeous teenage grandaughter and her mum to refuse this vaccine, and was gratified to be told she wasn't alone. Several other girls from the same class year also refused.

It does seem odd that so many people have begun transiting from one gender to the other .. could it be GMO's?
------------------------------
As to Dan's comments on Larium ... consider the tragedy of the Kandahar Massacre .. for which Staff Sgt Richard Bales was sentenced to "life in prison .. with no possibility of parole" .. for his actions on March 11, 2012 .. the most severe sentence possible .. after pleading "guilty" to avoid the death penalty .. for having "shot 22 people .. 17 of them women and children .. killing 17 of them" .. by his own words .. in an un-explicable attack on innocent civilians in Kandarhar, Afghanistan.

Evidence presented by Sgt Bales defense attorney's .. was that Sgt Bales "may have been on mefloquine .. (brand name Larium).. at the time of his inexplicable murderous rampage".

A noted co-author of a paper on mefloquine and forensic psychiatry .. Dr. Remington Nevin .. obtained a so-called ""adverse event report" .. describing a negative side-effect to a medication .. "homicide by a Soldier taking mefloquine".

Neving got the report from Action Lariam for Irish Soldiers .. (mefloquineireland@gmail.com) .. for the Irish network RTE. The broadcaster prepared a report on the possible links between Lariam and suicides among Irish peace-keeping soldiers.

Here is the key passage from a much larger document ..

"Homicide (REDACTED) .. A patient of unknowm demographics started on mefloquine (theraphy details unspecified) for an unknown indication. After an unspecified duration, the patient who was a soldier experienced homicidal behavior which led to homicidal killing of 17 (REDACTED). It was reported that the patient was suffering from traumatic brain injury (TBI) and was administered mefloquine against military rule (mefloquine is directly contraindicated in patients with TBI as per (REDACTED) rule.
----------------------------------
And so .. prescribing mefloquine (Lariam) to ANYONE who has suffered a "traumatic brain injury" is specifically denied.

Would that help explain NFL and Military suicides?
