The Imperatives of Medicine
Note: Thanks to Julie for this post. There is a trend in America called "slow medicine." I read that 35% of the MediCARE budget (for seniors) is spent on patients' LAST SIX MONTHS of life. We are a nation of medical procedure gluttons. Slow medicine allows a person to age and ultimately die with dignitiy, care and love, saying no to numerous medical inventions that do not increase quality of life and may harm the elderly patient. Wait, we can say no to medicine? Well, sometimes.....

If you believe it is not only right but just that the medical industrial complex (the government, the pharmaceutical industry, and the medical industry) has the authority to dictate what you must do and when to your own body or your child's for the sake of society in order to participate in society, with or without regard to your consent, your medical individuality, your instinct, your past experience, your family history, your personal or religious beliefs, or the possibility of your injury or death, at the same time that they profit from forcing you to do this, is it not imperative for that complex to be a) trustworthy b) transparent c) liable and d) ethical?
Is it not imperative the products be independently tested for safety by someone outside of the complex against true placebos?
Is it not imperative they be independently studied for cumulative, long term, and lifelong effects?
Is it not imperative the complex be held to the highest level of transparency in a court of law where their science, scientists, research, practices, and behavior can be scrutinized in the discovery process?
Is it not imperative vulnerable populations be identified so that they may be spared? (If the point is to save lives, how is killing anyone in the name of saving them justified? Are we really that complacent and incapable of doing better that we still accept some children must be injured or die so more may not? And if so, how many children is one family expected to give?)
Is it not imperative all data sets and other pertinent information from government studies be made easily accessible to the public who has paid for them so that they can verify the validity of safety claims?
Is it not imperative the process for receiving financial assistance for your sacrifice should you be harmed be public knowledge, speedy, transparent, and just?
Is it not imperative those sitting on policy boards recommending more of their product to the public while simultaneously paying lobbyists to successfully legislate they must have it be independent of financial conflicts of interest so that we know their motives are pure?
Is it not imperative the science is free of unsettled controversy, such as when there are whistle blowers working with Congress and/or waiting to testify otherwise, before we are forced to take that product again?
Is it not imperative that at every single step of the program the highest interest of every individual is carefully considered so that when being forced to participate by law they can at least be assured their lives matter?
This is not the case today.
Three of the most powerful groups in the world, the US government, the medical industry, and the pharmaceutical industry, have banded together as one, successfully aligning themselves against the individual consumer and creating a system where by law the consumer must receive the product the complex profits from, without access to a traditional court room if it harms them to verify if the harm was avoidable, and without any independent checks and balances in place outside of the complex to protect the consumer from the over-reach of the trifecta or if they fail in their duties to protect them.
The government, whose original and primary purpose was to protect the rights of the individual from their government, is now protecting their own interests and industry's in the name of protecting the collective whole instead, using fear, propaganda, insults, astroturfing, and the law to convince the public that mandatory participation in this system is the only way to prevent everyone from imminent death...and that it is not them or the system that is the problem, but the non-compliant consumers (who have often been harmed) who object.
In 2015 they have officially made their position legal and clear: You may make health care decisions for yourself and your children as the medical industrial complex who profits from those decisions and funds politicians who legalize them sees fit or you may not participate in society. You may not object to these decisions for any reason without great personal attack and your character, intelligence, and parenting abilities being questioned, for you are not qualified to question or object to their decisions, nor is there anything to question or object to in the first place. Furthermore, you may not use your instinct, past experience, personal beliefs, or religion to guide your health care decisions if they do not agree with the recommendations of the MIC. And finally, you must purchase the health care insurance that pays them for these decisions or you will be taxed. It is so ordered by law.
While I strongly disagree that the government owns anybody's body under any circumstance for any reason, I cannot fathom that there is anyone who disagrees that cannot at least agree such a system in which society does in essence own your body must be held to the highest standard of safe, ethical, trustworthy, responsible, and transparent behavior if it is to be employed, as well as held financially and criminally responsible should they fail. They are not. They have successfully created a system in which they run their own investigation of their own alleged wrong doing using their own research and their own researchers to decide their own innocence or guilt, all while convincing the public this is for their own benefit.
I am floored by the complacency of people who see nothing wrong with their individual and parental rights to make medical decisions for themselves and their families if they want to participate in society being aggressively taken away without any regard for sincerely examining and demanding the integrity, transparency, trustworthiness, liability, and ethics of the system and motives behind those doing the taking.
There are 150 vaccinations now recommended in the lifetime of every American born today should they live to 80 years old. 150! It is truly the greatest medical experiment of all time as no one has any idea what the unintended consequences of this will be, nor do they seem to be the least bit interested in finding out, insisting the attempted aversion of pain and suffering vaccination provides trumps the right or need to know at the same time they generate BILLIONS of dollars in profits from doing so. Furthermore, if the complex has their way, which they are getting every step they take, there will be many, many more added to the schedule (there are almost 300 new vaccines in the making at this moment) and no getting out of having them regardless of your concerns, regardless of the atrociously one-sided system in which you must have them by law, and very possibly if you want to have and keep your health insurance coverage, job and/or freedom from law suits and criminal prosecution in the future, not to mention your reputation, which they are already quite comfortable taking if you object.
It is imperative the American public understand what this controversy at its foundation is actually about: the tyrannical and unjustified over-reach and exploitation of a corrupt system conceived in the threats of the for-profit medical industry and birthed with our government's support who collectively justify the system, their profits, their policies, their products, their laws, and their behavior in the name of public health on the backs of the vulnerable individuals it knowingly harms with little regard for those victims or their families or for ethically maintaining the sanctity of the public's trust ...and those who think that's wrong.

Also, from the very beginning of Obamacare discussions, I found it troubling that people would be taxed or fined for non participation. That seemed like a dangerous slippery slope. But even more odd was/is the fact that so many seem to think this system actually protects and provides equal access to the poor. Whenever possible, I try to tie in the vaccine and MIC discussion with Obamacare, since medicare is being conjoined increasingly with this system, as is mandatory vaccine compliance in order to participate [which is then required in order to avoid penalties]. Medicare and the poor are preyed on through national healthcare and vaccine mandates [see the recent CA bill on the floor to provide financial kickbacks to doctors who fully vaccinate medical kids by age 2. It would be funny if it wasn't actually happening'.]. Social justice groups are another untapped source of power and information sharing, as are opponents to various groups [GMO's, TPP, Occupy movement etc] Unification is what the MIC does not want-but these splinter issues are all part of the same concern: Who owns us and our bodies? Apparently, corporations via government instrument, think they do.

Another major issue is that 'science' is a 'holy term', even though it's now largely corporate science backing medicine and the pharmaceutical industry. The holy grail of vaccines as altruistic public health furthers the cognitive dissonance many experience around this issue. Pointing out that vaccines are both pharmaceutical drugs and medical procedures, does help people make the connection. The media can definitely help regarding these unquestioned beliefs and connections that the general public has.

Never heard that Matthew Freud was on the board of GSK, but his brother-in-law James Murdoch was, but he was likely much influenced by Ed Bernays (who lived to a great age). I just noticed, however, that Freud owns the British Press Awards, via the Press Gazette, which gave Deer his gong ("for righting a great wrong"). As Deer also once disingenuously remarked: "The ruling elite is surprisingly small".

The part that gets me the most is the fear campaign that is being waged. The CDC and public health have people and parents so scared of not vaccinated children. Almost every pro vaxxers standpoint is that "non vaccinated children put the immune compromised that can't be at risk." This is one of the biggest contradictions in history, because the vaccinated are the immediate threat to the immune compromised! John G Hopkins patient guide warns immune suppressed children to stay away from those that have been recently vaccinated with a live virus vaccine, such MMR, VARICELLA, FLU, ECT. I'm getting very fed up with needle chasers telling me how selfish I am, how my children are a threat, keep my kids put of public. Awareness needs to be raised about how dangerous the recently vaccinated can be, especially to babies and immune comprised. I will gladly homeschool because I don't want my children exposed to these big pharma pin cushion virus shredders..(poor babies!) I'm not trying to vilify those who wish to vaccinate. They are the parents of their child so I should respect their decision. It's sad there's absolutely no informed consent with vaccination. The pAckage insert is all it would take to feel compelled to investigate further before deciding to vaccinate. Unfortunately, package inserts are widely never given or discussed. I have yet to find a Dr. Or registered nurse that is familiar with ingredients or side effects. All that's typically given to a parent is a CDC generated fear form about how 'horrible' the disease is.
The fact that our leading anti virus microbiologists and doctors concerned with vaccine safety are dropping like flies under such suspicious circumstances is very concerning. I think they were finding out the paradox of these diseases becoming diseases of the vaccinated, and probably had knowledge that the vaccine strains are creating outbreaks. Sadly, the people the most scared of these diseases will likely suffer the most, with hijacked immune systems from adjuvant in the vaccines, low platelet count, and adverse reactions causing the immune system to not decipher nature from threat, I think a lot of people will suffer much greater medical hardships than nature ever intended.

I wish someone would do a story on Ed Bernays. He wrote the book Propaganda many moon ago. He wrote “The conscious and intelligent manipulation of the organized habits and opinions of the masses is an important element in democratic society. @barbara j PLUS they talk about mercury being excreted in the stools--where does that go? Could some of the mercury poisoning we see in our waterways come from all the processed mercury from those who CAN chelate--in their hair, flushed down the toilets? If they can study the biome of a bunch of people by going into sewers (someone posted a link to a story like this) can they see if an area with high flu vaccine uptake gets more mercury in its drinking water? Some people don't give a flying blank about our children's brains or our families' struggles--but they will care about the difficulty of getting safe drinking water or safe fish. . . .

But life, and health, and liberty have never come cheap or easy -- or with any guarantees. I think there is real trouble a'brewing. I think it will take another American Revolution. The middle agers do know better and polls show that the younger ones are not certain about the vaccine science. What I find very interesting is how most science types would classify themselves as atheist and yet they sure like to play God. They want to decide what we should put in our bodies and they deem that people like John Berchielli suffering from GB and possibly a shorter life expectancy are somehow less important than say, an immune compromised woman. And dammit, Orac still has not written about John's case. Ahh, cherry picking deaths and debilitations...

Yes to everything you said, Julie. I do think there's more though. How can the American public hear that a doctor was found in a river with a bullet wound in his chest and be satisfied that his death was a suicide? How could his fellow physicians let that slide? How could a medical journal publish a study that found that premature infants are sickened and some killed by what is bizarrely called by the authors "routine immunization", and accept the author's conclusion that more studies are needed, endangering the health and life of more infants, all while the parents are not informed? It's like the lights are on but nobody's home, in most heads - and hearts. I was thinking of the Vietnam War as I was reading your comment before I got to the part where you mentioned it. My generation pushed back hard against corruption. What the hell happened to them? Where is everyone? I can understand the very young being sucked into the black hole of lies, but my generation should know better - to at least question - especially when products are being sold, in this case - mandated.

Psychology 101 - Behavior Experiment
You start with a cage containing four monkeys, and inside the cage you hang a banana on a string, and then you place a set of stairs under the banana. Before long a monkey will go to the stairs and climb toward the banana. You

sprayed with cold water. Nevertheless, not one of the monkeys will try to climb the stairway for the banana.
Why, you ask? Because in their minds, that is the way it has always been!
This is how all entrenched ... life time bureaucrats .. (FDA, CDC, HHS, Senate and Congress, etc) react .. which is why .. from time to time, ALL of the monkeys need to be REPLACED AT THE SAME TIME!

From FDA Vaccines, Blood & Biologics At the initial National Vaccine Advisory Committee-sponsored meeting on thimerosal in 1999, concerns were expressed that infants may lack the ability to eliminate mercury. More recent NIAID-supported studies at the University of Rochester and National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, MD examined levels of mercury in blood and other samples from infants who had received routine immunizations with thimerosal-containing vaccines. [Pichichero ME, et al. Lancet 360:1737-1741 (2002)] Blood levels of mercury did not exceed safety guidelines for methyl mercury for all infants in these studies. Further, mercury was cleared from the blood in infants exposed to thimerosal faster than would be predicted for methyl mercury; infants excreted significant amounts of mercury in stool after thimerosal exposure, thus removing mercury from their bodies. These results suggest that there are differences in the way that thimerosal and methyl mercury are distributed, metabolized, and excreted. Thimerosal appears to be removed from the blood and body more rapidly than methyl mercury. NIAID is sponsoring a follow-up study with larger numbers of infants in Buenos Aires where thimerosal-containing vaccines are still administered to children. And yet the studies from 2008 say this..

Absolute inorganic Hg concentrations in the brains of the thimerosal-exposed monkeys were approximately twice that of the MeHg monkeys. Interestingly, the inorganic fraction in the kidneys of the same cohort of monkeys was also significantly higher after im thimerosal than after oral MeHg exposure (0.71 ± 0.04 vs. 0.40 ± 0.03).This suggests that the dealkylation of ethylmercury is much more extensive than that of MeHg." Fear. I don't think people are stupid. I think they are afraid. They are more afraid of the possible consequences of infectious disease than they are of the actual consequences of the loss of their freedom to choose how to avoid it.
And in their defense, how could it not be their default position? That's what we've all been taught. That's the position of the media. That's the position of our government. Infectious disease is so scary that the safety of the masses trumps the freedom of the individual, regardless of the consequences to the individual being forced to try and keep the others safe.
The sad thing is, history has repeatedly shown us that using the law to justify the harm or loss of the few to prevent the harm or loss of the many often backfires, especially when the perceived enemy is not actually a worthwhile threat. The draft for Vietnam is a perfect example. People began burning their cards because they didn't believe in the war, not because they hated their fellow Americans or wanted to put anyone in danger.
Likewise, many parents challenging the vaccine program today consider many of the infectious diseases now on the schedule as their own Vietnam. Chicken pox? Hepatitis B? Really? These are the enemies I should surrender my freedom to? No.
I believe it is far more the circumstance that dictates the justification of these laws (if you can argue they are justifiable), and that has been lost in all of this debate. Had NVICP been created to only be used in circumstances when the disease threat was deathly serious, imminent, and there wasn't enough time to perfect the product meant to prevent it, I can accept that it was reasonable to offer liability protection to the product makers. I sincerely blame the lack of defining the circumstance in which it was enacted as the main reason we find ourselves in this situation today. The pharmaceutical industry exploited the system meant to protect it, and frankly, we should have predicted they would.
I also sincerely believe this controversy proves it is only when we protect the right of the individual to protect themselves first that we have any hope of actually protecting the masses. And that's because every single person and parent on this planet wants to know one thing: that they and their children matter. Forced vaccination for every person in every circumstance with every vaccine clearly takes the position they don't, and the main reason we have allowed it is fear.

What an excellent article, Julie. I so wish all those who are blindly pro-vaccination would read it, especially all the media. The Gardasil tragedies were reported by 3 leading newspapers in the UK, but were 'put down' by the BBC and, sadly, didn't take off. There is a lot more activity on Twitter now, so hopefully the message will gradually get through but, in the meantime, many more families will suffer from having vaccine injured children.

Another answer that will put pressure on the media by exposing their lack of credibility on this, is our friends, our co-workers, our neighbors. Gay rights didn't change until people KNEW someone gay. Someone they had already befriended and observed for years, someone they had identified with. When this someone didn't match their stereotype, the blinders fell off. The fact that the media et al have shamed us into hiding all these years can now work FOR us. People may see us as that family with the special needs child, or the person with MS, Parkinsons, whatever other vaccine damage, but we have probably been afraid to mention our observation that it was caused by vaccines. I have noticed myself doing the VAXFAX dance, much like GAYDAR used to be even with people with autistic kids like mine. I suspect someone knows, but I say "Well, it's odd so MANY of these kids have this--I think it's toxins" and we pussyfoot around until one of us admits we know it is biomedical. And that eventually leads to our 'suspicion" that it might be vaccines. . . WHY? Why so cautious? Because the last thing someone with a special needs child can tolerate is EVEN MORE SHUNNING. And I personally have absolutely lost at least one job by being labeled a wacko by mentioning vaccines as a cause of my son's autism, when trying to help someone with a newly diagnosed kid. So, yes, we have to be careful if our financial life depends on it, but we need to "come out" every place we can. There is no force more powerful than this personal knowledge. I supported Gay Marriage wholeheartedly when I could imagine my dear friend Patrick marrying his partner one day. We need to point out that the truth coming out about autism can and will make it more possible for our kids to recover, and for so many infants not to develop this. That's the only difference with gay rights--we want our children to be cured if possible, we love them as they are but need to rescue if we can ---(see http://www.ageofautism.com/2008/07/autism-twins.html for one version of the struggle with these concepts of acceptance vs cure) . . . .we need to COME OUT! Where we safely can. And we need an underground railway of ways to protect kids from unnecessary and vaccinations that are deadly for them. Even my DOG got a DNA test to make sure he could safely get heart worm medicine only dangerous for certain dogs (google the MDR1 and Australian shepherds). Even our DOGS are protected. But not our children. No, because VACCINES ARE SAFE FOR ALL even though they are UNAVOIDABLY UNSAFE. But our answer is to speak out, speak out, speak out where it's safe. And if you can afford to, buy up some copies of Kim's books, Anne's books, Kent's book, Dan's Books, and RFK's books, Jenny's books, the others--they are all fantastic --disolving illusitns --and leave them in public places, hospital waiting rooms, . .. I put one on an amtrak . .leave them around, where they will be where people are hanging around . . . lose them at an airport but say "free" --put them where they will reach that person looking for the answer and catch his or her eye. . Let's make our friends realize that when they say something terrible about those "no -vaxxers" they might offend US, they might hurt our feelings. Let them see that when they blindly read that stuff that it is HATE speech, hate speech about us. Because it is. Because no one would attack a MADD mom who said she hates drinking and driveng. No one would attack the Mom of a brain injured victim of a faulty airbag who says airbags should be safer. They'd be invited on all the shows to tell her story to sympathy and compassion. Everyone would be outraged this had happened. We are sufferig hate speech, and SB277 is a hate crime. Truly

More than 270 new vaccines in developmental/bureaucratic pipeline as well as the 150 doses currently recommended for already approved vaccines and not one tested for all risks against a never-vaccinated group. No liability nor responsibility to communicate all known risks, otherwise. Immune dysfunction everywhere.
I hope most soon see the need to retain and protect their right and everyone's right and responsibility to regulate this industry (and some others) with personal education and personal choice.

I think this out of control government gets away with what they do by using semantics. Autism is a behavior disorder caused by a biological condition so vaccines cause the biological disorder but don't actually cause autism. The death rate from medical mistakes is the third leading cause of death in the U.S., but according to some this is misleading because in other countries people die at home more often so those hospital deaths just happened to be counted as medical mistakes but would have happened anyway. The U.S. has the highest infant mortality rate among developed nations because the U.S. counts "still borns"...essentially we count better than other people do. The problem is that smart people believe these excuses because it is framed in such a way that it compliments smart people..."you see those ignorant people don't understand the subtle nature of statistics, but you do" Except these language manipulations only work until you as an individual become one of the victims, and that is rapidly becoming a majority of us.
Many years ago I lived on an Indian Reservation where the people had a deep mistrust of the Federal government and in particular the health care in the government hospitals. The average American is beginning to look at our government the way the American Indians do: a trail of broken treaties and a master of lies.

Bob - you are quite right . & I'll go further .
The media is the WEAK link in all of this , they are the one that wants to engage with us , they want to convince us .
1. Pharma - hides away and stays silent
2. Govt - all the complaints fall on deaf ears, playing dumb
3. The Doctors are just plain dumb or scoundrels
4. The media however can be shamed into accusations of uneven reporting (photographic evidence is very difficult for them , HPV Gardakil is painfully difficult for them to ignore.) Yes the media is heavily infiltrated at the top end but the rank and file are ordinary people . For instance Forbes Emily "Willingly help the Hg-enocide cover-up" is an embarrassment to them at this stage . And Slate rolled a young one called Helmet who was marvellous for us.
One thing you will never see discussed by our side is plans for our strategy (why is that ?) . But I'd suggest , the Media is the Vaccine Programs weakest link . We should focus our attacks on them (in particular the lying thieving corrupting BBC but also everything Murdoch).
Unbelievable as it sounds the only media in the UK to do anything like fair reporting is the Daily Mail .
The rest of them are total scoundrels but they really do not like accusation .

The media is all upset that they had a clothes line wrapped around them and in front of them being held by Hilary's employees to keep them in their place.
It seems like everyone has learned how to rope in the mainstream media.

I would respectfully suggest the main-stream media as a fourth member of the powerful groups in the world that have banded together as one .... because .. it has been the silent complicity of a morally/ethically corrupt main-stream media .. that has deliberately kept the public ignorant of Julie's nine "imperatives" which has allowed the other three powerful groups to prevail and grow ever stronger .. day by day.
