The dilemma featured in J.K. Wall's April 25 article "Parents of autistic children gird for showdown with Anthem" is one we are likely to hear about more as the prevalence of autism increases much faster than our understanding of its causes.

Over the last two decades hundreds of millions of dollars have been allocated to discover the cause of this neurodevelopmental disorder.

With nearly one in 68 school-aged children identified on the autism spectrum (an increase from one in 200 just a decade ago), we still know little about the causes.

. . . Funding for research to find the cause should continue, but immediate (and often dramatic) relief is found primarily through early intervention and intensive treatment.

Again, the public is told that people are really looking for the cause of autism and that the numbers continue to increase.  Notice the term "dilemma," not crisis or epidemic.  There's no demand for answers, just a call for "early intervention and intensive treatment."  When will the numbers become bad enough for someone to sound an alarm?

Many "inked up" Americans experience tattoo regret as their skin begins to age, but some experience that regret immediately after getting their new body art. A recent study conducted at NYU Langone Medical Center has revealed that six percent of New Yorkers with a tattoo have experienced long-term medical complications related to their ink, including tattoo-related rash, severe itching, or swelling.

"We were rather alarmed at the high rate of reported chronic complications tied to getting a tattoo," Dr. Marie Leger, an assistant professor in NYU Langone's Ronald O. Perelman Department of Dermatology, said in a statement. "Given the growing popularity of tattoos, physicians, public health officials, and consumers need to be aware of the risks involved."

"It is not yet known if the reactions being observed are due to chemicals in the ink itself or to other chemicals, such as preservatives or brighteners, added to them, or to the chemicals' breakdown over time," Leger explained. "The lack of a national database or reporting requirements also hinders reliable monitoring."

Doctors think tattoos can be "extremely harmful."  Why?  It may be due to the TOXIC INGREDIENTS like mercury and lead... according to NaturalNews.com.  One doctor thinks there should be a "national database" to record reactions.  Something like VAERS?  Wouldn't it be nice if doctors were also warning us that chemicals added to vaccines, like mercury, were likewise "extremely harmful"?

A group of parents marched Wednesday in downtown Modesto to protest a state bill that would require vaccinations before children attend school.

The parents said Senate Bill 277 would deny their children's constitutional right to education and discriminate against families that make personal decisions about vaccinations.

Members of the California Coalition for Health Choice, Central Valley and Sierra chapter, carried signs and spoke outside the office of state Sen. Cathleen Galgiani, who supported the bill in a Senate floor vote. About 50 parents accompanied by 25 children attended the rally.

. . . Felicia Cortez of Modesto said the bill would force her to home-school her three children, age 5 to 12. She said her 11-year-old son, who has autism, received the routine immunizations until he was 15 months, and then no more. She said her 5-year-old has not been vaccinated and her fully vaccinated 12-year-old would need updates to attend school under the proposed law.

Cortez said contagious illness is less a concern for her than the chance her kids will suffer serious side effects from vaccines.

The forced vaccination bill does not acknowledge any risks, furthermore no one has any responsibility for damages.  It like they're living in Wonderland where nothing bad can happen.

Legislation that would make it harder for students in New Jersey to skip vaccinations based on religious belief stalled in the state Senate on Monday.

State Sen. Joseph Vitale (D-Middlesex), the bill's sponsor, said that with only 21 of the Senate's 24 Democrats showing up for the session, he wasn't confident he had the votes for it to pass.

"We're just short on numbers today, on Democrats. The bill will pass. It's just a matter, now, for next month," he said.

. . .The number of parents claiming the exemption has grown rapidly in recent years.  In the 2005-2006 school year, there were 1,641 religious exemptions sought, according to state Department of Health data. In the 2013-2014 school year, there were 8,977.

. . .Under the bill that stalled today (S1147), the religious exemption request letter would have to be notarized and include "an explanation of the nature of the person's religious tenet or practice that is implicated by the vaccination and how administration of the vaccine would violate, contradict, or otherwise be inconsistent with that tenet or practice" as well as "information that indicates that the religious tenet or practice is consistently held by the person, which may include, but need not be limited to, expression of the person's intent to decline any vaccination."

Parents would also have to write that the religious tenet is not merely an expression of the parents' "political, sociological, philosophical or moral" views, nor concerns about the safety of the vaccination.

So who in the state of New Jersey gets to tell parents if their religious beliefs are?  It's clear that since almost no one's "religion" expressly prohibits vaccination, no one in NJ will be allowed to use this exemption.
