Mar 25, 2015, Fenton MI Tri-County Times: The other side of the vaccine controversy
Mar 8, 2015, GreenMedInfo.com: The CDC's Role in Undoing Vaccine Exemptions: the NACCHO Front Group
Patrik and Laura Welty of Fenton will never forget when their child reacted to a DTP (Diphtheria-Tetanus-Pertussis) vaccine back in 1998 with a fever, his eyes rolling back in his head and vomiting.
"We went by ambulance to Hurley and doctors tried to search for an explanation as to what had happened," said Welty, the father of six, ranging in age from 9 to 26. "He recovered from that emergency situation, but there were consequences. Over a period of months, he began to retreat from us, gave up his speech and was diagnosed with autism. Thanks to many medical interventions since that time, he no longer exhibits any of the symptoms on the autism spectrum."
But this experience did change the way the Welty family viewed the mandatory use of vaccines. "The issue of vaccinations is personal for us, but it's not like I've got a vendetta against all vaccines; I'm more passionate that people are informed about them. The issue isn't all that simple. Vaccines are pharmaceutical products that carry risks, which can be greater for some than for others. There are significant numbers of people who are damaged every year by vaccines.
This is something you'll never see from the NY Times or Chicago Trib. The bigger they are, the more adamant they are that all vaccines are safe for all children.
While major news outlets spin a web of lies and deceit regarding the efficacy and safety of vaccines, a small news site in Michigan allows the other side to be heard. To any reasonable person the truth is clear: Like any medical product or procedure, vaccination carries risk. I posted two comments.
It sounds like a bad acronym from an Austin Powers movie.
What/who the heck is NACCHO?
NACCHO is The National Association of County and City Health Officials. If you briefly perused their website, you might be confused into thinking that they were a federal agency of sorts. First off, there's the name. Many people associate "National Association" with something sort of official. The next thing that might throw you off is the way NACCHO describes themselves:
NACCHO's members are the 2700 local health departments across the United States. NACCHO's vision is health, equity, and security for all people in their communities through public health policies and services. NACCHO's mission is to be a leader, partner, catalyst, and voice for local health departments in order to ensure the conditions that promote health and equity, combat disease, and improve the quality and length of all lives.
The power and influence of drug industry lobbyists over the U.S. Congress is well known. The vast web of pharma ties with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is well documented by the overwhelming number of conflict of interest waivers that have been issued for individuals at the agency and the revolving door between industry and agency when you look at who’s hiring who.
But this is only part of the corruption. These corporations also seek to control how state governments function, and they can do it through their trusted minions at CDC.
Enter NACCHO, a harmless sounding acronym for a group with very real ties to powerful corporations.
