Oregon's SB442 Senator Elizabeth Steiner Hayward Defends Her Personal Medical Choice Denies Yours
Below is video of Oregon attorney Bob Snee asking Senator Elizabeth
Steiner Hayward why making medical decisions based on informed consent should be her right, but not the right of her constituents during debate about SB442 (see description of this bill below the video clip.) He politely inquired about her level of hypocrisy. She became a bit testy, like a schoolmarm - telling us her decision was "based on science." As if we are dunces to remain in the corner.
A quick look at her website indicates that Ms. Steiner Hayward is supported by Planned Parenthood and is a pro-choice politician. She will protect your decision to abort your baby, but once born, please leave your brain (and science) at the door and allow the government and Ms. Steiner Hayward to tell you how to care for your own child.
We invite you to contact the three Senators listed below to politely share your personal experience and the science behind your vaccine choice decisions - especially if you are an Oregon resident.
SB442 Directs Oregon Health Authority to adopt by rule schedule requiring submission of document to school administrator for purposes of declining immunization if document on record does not include signature of health care practitioner verifying that parent has reviewed risks and benefits of immunization or certificate verifying that parent has completed vaccine educational module. You can read Mr. Snee's testimony HERE.

Who is interested in initiating an election recall on Senator E? Hayward. It is not necessary to wait for 3 years to cycle her out of office.
I am trying to find Oregon voters who are willing to collect signatures and pick up ballot forms. Post back on here if interested in fighting this sweeping measure. We are entirely capable of voting on issues, we don't need to vote for phony politicians to vote for us. We need to vote on the issues.
"Because this is based on science" E Hayward. That's basically saying "because I said so"

This woman needs to go. The bill has been dropped, due to strong opposition, but she is still working on the issue. She intends to introduce another one. She apparently is not willing to give it up, so she needs to go away. Unfortunately, she is not up for re-election for another 3 years, but I would be interested in a serious plan to unseat her, simply for her unwavering commitment to forced vaccinations. The rest of the legislature needs to see what happens when you force this issue.

Sure she doesn't know who contributes, what a loser and what a hypocrite! She went against the medical advice of the time and she is being hypocritical. And if she has MS then I sure as he'll doubt (hope) she didn't give her baby the Hep b dose at birth.

Well, this is very sad:
http://www.statesmanjournal.com/story/news/health/2015/02/25/meeting-vaccine-mandate-bill-canceled/24020213/
"Oregon legislators have canceled a meeting to discuss a bill that would eliminate nonmedical exemptions from Oregon's school immunization law, after it became clear that a controversial vaccine researcher who linked the measles, mumps, rubella vaccine with autism was planning to testify.
The Statesman Journal reported Tuesday that Andrew Wakefield, whose 1998 study was retracted from The Lancet and refuted by subsequent studies, was planning a trip to Salem to testify against Senate Bill 442.
He said in a phone interview on Wednesday that he objected to allegations made by Sen. Elizabeth Steiner Hayward, the bill's sponsor, that he committed scientific fraud in his research.
Sen. Laurie Monnes Anderson, D-Gresham, chairwoman of the Senate health care committee, said she canceled the March 9 informational meeting because she felt the first public hearing, on Feb. 18, provided enough information..."

M.E. for Greta I would argue that pro life /pro choice is relevant here. If you argue that it's a religious argument I would say, given the religious exemption that vaccine choice can (logically) be lumped in the same category. And to further confuse the issue I would submit that "Science" is the new religion and is considered by many to be as infallible as the Catholic Church once was.

She also lied in senate health committee hearing on SB 442-3 where she said she'd never accepted a single dime from the pharamaceutical companies. When, a week later, we discovered and called her out on not one, not two, but three contributions from GlaxoSmithKline, she said she was going to return the money, and that she hadn't been aware of the contributions. I was at that hearing. Here is her email in response to the discovery.
hank you so much for bringing this to our attention. During the busy election season, Sen. Steiner Hayward had campaign staff that assisted in depositing campaign contributions. She did not until you notified us realize that funds from Genentech had been deposited. I have just requested that the treasurer who manages that account initiate an immediate return of the funds.

Great, her abortion stance is very relevant. If she believes in a woman's right to choose what to do with her own body including terminating a viable pregnancy - it is contrary that she then thinks the government knows best what to do for her baby once born. It is also contrary that a mother can not then CHOOSE what to do for her own daughter's body as an infant. Choice does not end at birth. On the flip side - if she were a Pro Life politician supported by pro-life groups, I would have pointed out that protected life does not END on the day of birth. Indeed, it begins.
The "Science" of vaccination has indeed turned into RELIGION as the pro-vax no matter what community refuses to acknowledge any thought of vaccine injury and the need for personal choice. They are Orthodox in their thinking. That's our view at AofA. We are not endorsing pro life or pro choice - but pointing out the sheer hypocrisy.
Thanks for your comment.

Why is there a comment on Ms Hayward's pro-choice status? It has nothing to do with what is brought up on the clip and nothing to do with this debate. Abortion/pro-choice is not a science debate it is a religious debate. I can say the same thing about many anti-choice people, i.e., that they care for the fetus but don't give a damn once a child born. (The GOP proves this all the time with their cuts to people with disabilities, school lunch programs, etc.)
I thought the man in the clip made a good point in that she chose to breast feed with the medical/"scientific" information she gathered but wants to deny the rest of us the same privilege.

If we don't stop the attack on medical rights it may prove deadly. Watch this interview with Dr. Howard Jones, IVF pioneer, who thinks all children with genetic disabilities should be killed. Start at about 18 minutes. On Youtube you can search on Dr. Howard Jones What Matters. What Matters was a show on the Norfolk, VA PBS station in 2008 when this aired.
