Book Review - "The Vaccine Court" by Wayne Rohde
The autism community owes a great debt to Wayne Rohde for his brisk, easy-to-read book "The Vaccine Court: The Dark Truth of America's Vaccine Injury Compensation Program."
For many of us, the passage of the National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act of 1986 which established the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program (NVICP), otherwise known as the "Vaccine Court" has been an unmitigated disaster for the health of America's children. It is since the passage of this act that the rate of autism, allergies, and other auto-immune disorders has skyrocketed among our youngest and most vulnerable citizens.
Rohde does an admirable job of leading the reader through an easy to understand explanation of how this program which was supposed to give a quick resolution to those victims of vaccine injury morphed into a monster which benefits only the pharmaceutical companies.
The heart-breaking stories of many of the parents of vaccine-injured children are included in this book, as well as the nightmare of going through the vaccine injury compensation program. As difficult as it is to read many of these stories, knowing they are just a fraction of those in our country today, it is nothing less than a sacred obligation that we know them. In our pain is our strength.
This is a book which should be handed to every member of Congress as we seek to explain why the Vaccine Court has become the number one obstacle to the health of our young people. Rohde does a wonderful job of handling the injustices of the Omnibus Autism Proceedings and the irregularities in the cases of Michelle Cedillo, Yates Hazlehurst, and Colton Snyder. The author simply presents the information and asks the reader to draw his or her own conclusions.
If you are going to make a resolution in the New Year, let me offer a suggestion. Support those parents who are doing things like writing these great books which offer us a path forward. I understand how emotionally raw we are about what has happened to our children, but we have sufficient numbers at this time to make a difference. Thousands of people read Age of Autism every day and yet only a few leave comments. Let's light it up in 2015.
If each person reading today was to make a committment to buy 2 or 3 books by some of the great writers from Age of Autism, read those books, then post reviews on Amazon, or Good Reads, or some other site, we could make an enormous difference. For example, many of you are aware of Steh Mnookin's attack on our community entitled "The Panic Virus." How many reviews does it have on Amazon? One hundred and twelve. (112) That's it. The daily readership of Age of Autism dwarfs that number. By our silence we are handing the bad guys an enormous victory.
Start the New Year in the right way. Buy and read Wayne Rohde's "The Vaccine Court", then publish a review on Amazon.

Thank you so much Wayne for putting this information out there, so families can read what a horrible thing can happen to them.
As you know we lost our beautiful daughter Megan to the Gardasil vaccine. No help through the courts of course.
Sometimes you feel like no one believes you.
I agree with you we have to keep putting it out there. And let our voices be strong. If our voices cannot be heard in the courts then let them be heard in every place that we can put it!
I hope every day I can stop one Mom or Dad from letting their daughter or son take the Gardasil vaccine. I never want them to have to live their life like my family has to live!

Great review, Kent, and great advice for AoA readers, too!
Now, if I could just find the time to finish YOUR book, then I could start Wayne's :)
For the record, I've already read Anne Dachel's book, and I was able to preview Dan and Mark's new book, too...BOTH ARE MUST-READS! And, although I have yet to finish Kent and Judy's book, I think it's going to land in the MUST-READ category, too (I'm on Chapter 6 right now, and Chapter 5 alone actually qualifies it for the MUST-READ category all by itself!).
Read, comment, share, be vocal...let's make 2015 the year we take back our country, our freedoms, and our rights! Let's also make it the year that we stop allowing the poisoning of our children, our pregnant moms, our elderly, our food supply, and our water supply. Everything we need to survive is being poisoned, with no end in sight.
Be silent and passive NO MORE!
