Best of Age of Autism: Brian Deer Basks at a Pharmaceutical Conference by Lake Annecy

(Note: We published this post  three years ago this week. It serves as a reminder of the background of the "team" devoted to crushing the vaccine autism connection. In a rare mainstream re-appearance a few weeks ago Deer claimed to have inside knowledge of anonymised court case.)

By John Stone

This week journalist Brian Deer has been enjoying celebrity status at the luxury villa of Les Pensières of the Fondation Mérieux on the banks of Lake Annecy in the French alps: The Merieux foundation advertises its financial links to all three MMR manufacturers that were defendants in the UK litigation (GSK, Merck and Sanofi), as well as the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

So far Deer has disclosed no pharmaceutical sponsorship or hospitality in his series of British Les-pensieres-outside-5 Medical Journal articles attacking Andrew Wakefield and now Wakefield’s colleagues at the Royal Free Hospital, the last published just twelve days before conference began. Nor does he mention this latest engagement in a letter yesterday to the journal  (presumably a dispatch from the conference itself). Meanwhile BMJ have failed to publish a letter pointing out the discrepancy and have once again given the lie to editor Fiona Godlee’s official ‘holier than thou’ stance on Conflict of Interest.

At a conference entitled  ‘See Re-invigorating Immunisation Policy Implementation and Success: From Parent to Partner and from Broadcast to Engagement' Deer was keynote speaker at the introductory evening on Monday with an address ‘Money, media and retrospection. What drove the MMR crisis, and what lessons should we learn for the future?’ but also was listed to chair two sessions on Tuesday afternoon and evening.

This puts in ironic perspective the scathing remarks that Deer made about Dr David Lewis attending a vaccine safety conference in Jamaica in January in both in BMJ and in Nature News, but is also perhaps a gratifying apotheosis for everyone who has watched his remarkable career.

Godfrey Wyl "Measles virus activates the alternative pathway, which does not use C4b to manufacture its C5 convertase (and, ultimately, the membrane attack complex)."

Thank you for the technical information Godfrey. I have no expertise in this area, but regard the research of Warren et al and other researchers examining individual genes and gene complexes, as important and exciting. In particular, the way these genes work to help prevent infections.

The 16 year old Wakefield et al Lancet paper cited some early Warren et al papers, and hypothethised some children might be genetically deficient in those gene complexes involved in dealing with live viruses, in particular the 3 live viruses in the MMR vaccine, even although the viruses used in vaccines are 'attenuated', i.e. weakened to prevent them causing full blown infections in the recipients.

Dr Wakefield had a particular interest in the attenuated measles component of MMR vaccine, and whether it survived in the tissues of certain children, who might be gene deficient. As we all know, Dr Wakefield was prevented from completing his research, as were his co-researchers, but the hypothesis remains. Science is dynamic and many important discoveries have been made in those intervening years.

The causes of autism MUST be tracked down in order to prevent this devastating condition, which will ultimately threaten the future of mankind. Vaccines are not 'sacred cows' and MUST be considered as possible causative agents. Identifying those children who are potentially vulnerable to vaccine damage would be a good start.

You are quite right that under the 20 year rule they should have had to disclose the info in January when it was potentially embarrassing but why did they release just before the end of hearing. Actually, if memory serves by 2010 a lot of this was not secret at all (already disclosed under FOIA or known by other means), so I wonder whether they were embarrassed by the publications into making certain acknowledgments. It looks to me that Andy's book did not appear till June, but Martin Walker's essay was already published in early May 2010.

I think substantially there was nothing new: the outlines can be found in CHS's post of 13 January 2009:

I am pretty sure the removal of Pluserix and Imravax in September 1992 was reported in some newspapers but made to sound insignificant.

My guess is that invoking the 20 year rule was a red herrring: something to do with news management - after all in 2010 it was only 18 years since 1992, and 22 years since 1998.

Jenny Allan

Re the UK '20 year rule on suppressed files'.
John asks:- "Is it not usual, however, under a twenty year rule to release information at the beginning of the year? Probably they had been embarrased into publishing the information by the publication of Andy's book 'Callous Disregard' where these matters are reported."

Correct me if I'm wrong, but my understanding was all the evidence gathering at the GMC hearing against Dr Wakefield and his clinician colleagues, Profs Murch and Walker-Smith, was concluded in January 2010, although it was a few more months before the guilty verdicts were announced.

This would explain why the 20 year suppressed files were not released in January 2010, but instead were delayed until late May 2010. A January release of the Urabe MMR files would have been very embarrassing for the UK Government, Salisbury and the GMC.

Jenny Allan

Thank you 'Vistor' for providing up to date links to the work of Warren and his colleagues, concentrating on the C4b-gene complex, involved with protection against infections. The earlier Warren et al research was cited in the 1998 Wakefield et al Lancet paper, as a possible reason for a minority of children being unable to deal effectively with the three live viruses contained in the MMR vaccine.

A genetic pre-disposition to environmental damage is not the same as a purely genetic condition which is present at the moment of conception. Examples of purely genetic conditions are Colour Blindness, Haemophilia and the devastating Huntingdon's Chorea. It is now possible to test for specific gene alleles. The recent Danish research implicates a genetic susseptibility to seizures post MMR vaccines. These can also cause brain inflammation and damage, resulting in autism-like conditions.

John Stone says:-
"I have never thought it fair or helpful to attack Brian Deer's personality, prefering apart from anything else to leave that kind of thing to him."

I agree. Deer is accomplished in the 'black arts' of ad hominum smears, misrepresentations, fabrications and just plain fantasies. It is all too easy to respond to him in kind, but that is exactly what he wants, and he will use any tactics to discredit our arguments, including any use by us of 'ad hominem' comments. Deer and his 'Skeptic' cohorts have no defence against factual reasoned arguments, backed up by source references.

Deer HATES having his own comments flung back at him, including a warning on his own website against copying his material. Don't worry - it's perfectly legal to quote his public published words as long as they are properly attributed to him as author.

It's virtually impossible to get official transcripts of Deer's lectures, but his 'prestigious annual life sciences' lecture at Wisconsin LaCrosse University was attended by large numbers of students and others, many of whom produced unofficial transcripts of Deer's often profane diatribe against Dr Wakefield and Deer's other perceived 'enemies'. Life Science it wasn't and there was an avalanche of complaints, many from the students themselves, who deserved better. Deer has absolutely NO scientific or medical qualifications whatsoever. It seems obvious some higher level pressure was applied to the University to invite Deer to deliver this lecture.

Save your wrath for those faceless corporate and political factions responsible for promoting and financing Deer's excesses.

"There is no such thing as a genitic epidemic."

The whole thing about having the right gut microbes or an imbalance of microbes is the only thing that makes perfect sense.

Not even identical twins with autism is not 100 percent -- close - -it is high but not 100%.

John Stone

I have never thought it fair or helpful to attack Brian Deer's personality, prefering apart from anything else to leave that kind of thing to him - also I am very suspicious of labels easily stuck on people. What I don't like about Deer is what he does and how powerful people, some of them no doubt psychiatrists, hide behind his activities. They have done so for a decade and it says everything about the policies, the products and the interests that he is being to strategically deployed to defend that he is the man they needed.

The Emperor Has No Clothes--Just Lies

If only one of these doctors had thought to assess Brian Deer for narcissistic personality disorder. In fact, I can think of a number of US-based vaccine pushers who show every indication of that as well.

Jenny Allan,

You probably know of these, but if not... and for any interested.

Increased frequency of the null allele at the complement C4b locus in autism.

Confirmation of the association of the C4B null allelle in autism.

Jenny Allan

This is what the 1998 Lancet Wakefield et al paper had to say about possible genetic susceptibility to live vaccine viruses:-

"A genetic predisposition to autistic-spectrum disorders is suggested by over-representation in boys and a greater concordance rate in monozygotic than in dizygotic twins.15 In the context of susceptibility to infection, a genetic association with autism, linked to a null allele of the complement (C) 4B gene located in the class III region of the major-histocompatibility complex, has been recorded by Warren and colleagues.24 C4B-gene products are crucial for the activation of the complement pathway and protection against infection: individuals inheriting one or two C4B null alleles may not handle certain viruses appropriately, possibly including attenuated strains."

The article "What Killed Sally Clark's Child" by Neville Hodgkinson can still be read here:

Some day soon!!!! ????

I hope we can gather up all these dumb @## studies, line up the scientists that did them - and acted like they really found something and -- you know the town pillory was not a bad idea.

Seizures are hardly normal.
My neighbor wanted to assure me that my son's seizureS were no big deal, cause her son had had one and then never had another one again.

My other neighbor's son on the other side of me had seizures too; but all perfectly normal -- he had them ever so often, but not all the time often.

All perfectly normal. In the genes.

Normal for human beings is what happens to them and others around them. So, I guess kids having seizures are normal, now. It was not normal when I was growing up.

And if it is all normal it is in the genes.

As far back as 15 years ago - things pointed to the vagus nerve and they were putting in stimulators for epileptics.

They can gene it all up all they want -- put in the word "clue" but as we all know they don't have a clue.

Genuises NOT. Dr. Wakefield already said the stomach was involved and that vagus nerve runs from the stomach to the sinuses, face and brain.

Thank you

I think this is the same gene they are associating with seizures following DPT vaccine. I have a recollection the Australians have researched this but I could be entirely wrong.

Jenny Allan

bk -Here's the link to the Danish study also more fully reported in the journal Nature Genetics. Sorry I can't answer your specific gene query, but someone else with better knowledge might know.

"Gene link to seizures in children after MMR vaccine"

By Richard InghamOctober 26, 2014 4:06 PM

From above:-
"Paris (AFP) - Scientists in Denmark said Sunday they had found genetic clues to explain why a small number of children have febrile seizures -- brief convulsions -- after receiving the measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) vaccine.
They stressed there was no need to scrap the MMR vaccine -- caught in a health scare in 1998 that watchdogs later declared groundless -- and described its use as a "great achievement" in saving lives.
Reporting in the journal Nature Genetics, the team found that febrile seizures occurred in roughly one in every 1,000 children who were given the MMR vaccine.
Two genetic variants came to light that pointed to a higher risk of a febrile seizure in the second week following MMR vaccination, they said.
They lie on genes that play an important role in how the immune system reacts to viral intruders."

Yes, an interesting insight into the twisted behaviour of the media - so many incidents of this kind which still shock when you think about them. That the editors are cowardly is one thing but the maliciousness of some of these people (who know they are crossing boundaries of decency and fairness) is another. We have plenty of poeple who would be good Nazis, Bolsheviks, Maoists, Khmer Rouge etc. No need to feel proud of being British, the human beast is the same.

As to the documented reality we are not remotely dependent on the mainstream media. Apart from Andy's book we have Tomljenovic:

Martin Walker's The Urabe Farago

This very succinct document (Canada Disease Weekly Report 15 Dec 1990)

(The latter incidentally I found in the link to note 60 in a deplorable article by Joel Harrison which attacked Andy's account of the Urabe affair - buried in footnote 60 is the documentation which proves Wakefield was right and Harrison was wrong about this history. Of course, there was an endless weasel defence of the despicable article by Dorit Reiss in Forbes and probably elsewhere.)

Jenny Allan

John-I think we can assume some post 2010 UK Government suppression of the Urabe MMR scandal, particularly in England. I expect Salisbury and the UK health authorities initially thought they would be 'safe' with a 20 year suppression period. In Scotland, 2010, NHS health had already been devolved to the Scottish Parliament, hence the release of 20 year suppressed information here.

Incidently, I already found out (to my cost) about the press and media suppression of this information. I was present outside the GMC London Headquarters when the final guilty verdicts on the three doctors were announced. A snarky little TV reporter was being horrible to the lady next to me (a granny of a vaccine damaged teenager), accusing her of ignoring the 'facts' about MMR vaccine safety. I told him about the dangerous Urabe MMR vaccine being withdrawn after 3 years. This got the same sneering dismissive diatribe, so I showed him my Herald printout, undeniably factual, and my Scottish Mail cutting. The media man was initially speechless, then asked if he could have my two copies. I assumed then (wrongly!), he might give this aspect of the MMR vaccine some media coverage.

Stupidly, I gave him the Herald internet printout, thinking I could print out another on my return to Scotland. I refused to give him the Scottish Mail cutting because it was not replaceable. When I got home to Scotland the Herald internet article had been edited to exclude the fact the UK Government had taken 3 years to ban this dangerous vaccine. I learned a very nasty lesson, but Salisbury, (Lord) John Smith (Health Minister at the time), and former Prime Minister Tony Blair, should all hang their heads in shame at the damage done (and still being done) to our precious children. Tony Blair joined in the chorus of condemnation of Dr Wakefield and his colleagues, yet refused to tell us whether or not his son Leo had MMR or single vaccines. A PM endorsement of the MMR vaccine by having his own son jabbed, would have inspired public confidence, instead he chose cowardly suppression of his Government's mistakes.
I suppose we should be glad it was only 20 years. Mr Blair's and his ministers' part in the Iraq war has been suppressed for SEVENTY years. Disgraceful.

John Stone

You make a very interesting point about this information being released just three days before the end of the hearing (with very little publicity). Previously, of course, Dr David Salisbury - the British Government's vaccine supremo - had testified to the hearing that MMR had an exemplary record of safety. For some mysterious reason if I remember correctly Wakefield's lawyer chose not to cross-examine him.

Is it not usual, however, under a twenty year rule to release information at the beginning of the year? Probably they had been embarrased into publishing the information by the publication of Andy's book 'Callous Disregard' where these matters are reported.

On a technical point I would make a distinction between the government burying the information and placing a ban on reporting it. Obviously, you can't report what you don't know. However, I believe there were some reports in 1992 of the removal of the Urabe strain vaccines (made on legal advice by the manufacturing companies).

Jenny Allan

John -This is from the Daily Mail Edition re the MMR Urabe vaccine, released under the 20 year rule:-
From the Scottish Daily Mail
"MMR Jab sparks early warnings
NHS bosses were warned about fears over certain strains of MMR vaccines three years before they were banned. Concerns were raised in 1989 over links between two strains of the vaccine, used to protect against measles mumps and rubella, and meningitis, but the vaccine was not axed until 1992."

Jenny Allan

John There definitely WAS a UK Government 20 year ban on the Urabe MMR scandal. The following Scottish Herald link has been archived and edited. As far as I am aware only the Scottish Herald and the Scottish Daily Mail covered this and the MMR information was included amongst a whole lot of other files also released under the 20 year rule. I couldn't get a Mail URL -the Scottish articles don't go on the internet, but I saved the Mail cutting from my edition. I still have it.

FRIDAY 21 MAY 2010
Concerns about the adverse side-effects of the MMR vaccine have dogged it ever since it was introduced, according to the newly released files.
Rebecca McQuillan
The MMR (measles, mumps and rubella) triple vaccine was introduced in the UK in 1988 for children aged 12 to 18 months.
Shortly after its introduction, the vaccine was implicated in the death of Glasgow baby Ryan Mason.
Mr Forsyth said the death of just one child in Scotland merited “the closest investigation possible”.
Later that month, with the post-mortem investigation not complete, officials advised the minister that the baby’s death was probably not vaccine-related.
They added: “Nevertheless, it is wise to avoid a categorical reassurance” until all evidence had been collated. Subsequently, the full evidence was reviewed and it was judged there was no link.
However, that was not the end of the questions about MMR side-effects.
In a letter sent the UK department of health in October 1989, a Scottish Office official noted: “My medical colleagues here have had some feedback from those responsible in health boards for immunisation expressing concerns about reactions to the MMR vaccine.
“These reactions are almost always relatively mild and include pyrexia, some swelling of the parotid gland and a fleeting rash.
“It is reported to us that a few mothers are having second thoughts about having their children immunised.”

Thanks to you and John Stone for excellent posts and keeping our spirits up in the UK. Is the gene you refer to tSCN1A (Davett's Syndrome ).

John Stone

Hi Jenny

Lots of nice points but I am not sure that there was ever a twenty year ban by the British Government on the Urabe business, probably just careful news management. I am reminded of the famous lines of a pre-war British civil servant and poet, Humbert Wolfe:

'You cannot hope
to bribe or twist,
thank God! the
British journalist.
But, seeing what
the man will do
unbribed, there's
no occasion to.'

I suspect there may have been a temporary a DA notice on reporting the vaccine aspect of the Sally Clark case when she died in 2007 because there was not a single mention of this well established feature of the case anywhere - comments were even edited out in BMJ Rapid Responses although comment there had previously been normal. Some weeks later however The Spectator were able to publish an article by Neville Hodgkinson 'What killed Sally Clark's child?', and the privileged classes got to consider the matter temporarily.

Jenny Allan

From Brian Deer's Website article about the recent UK Court of Protection case :-

"I am named in the judgment, but I knew nothing of the court case. Had I done so, I might well have assisted. The picture painted so far could fit thousands of parents, particularly in the United States. Hardly a month passes without the wealthy Wakefield appearing at conferences dominated by quack remedy merchants and crowded with mother warriors who - wrongly blaming themselves for having their children vaccinated - are uniquely vulnerable prey."

This version was slightly edited in Deer's Sunday Times article. I found this comment very 'chilling' as I am sure you US folks will too, particularly since Deer's 'assistance' to the defenders in the US Cedillo case, prevented a very damaged child (and countless other children) from receiving rightful compensation for vaccine damage.

I would like to think the UK Court of Protection would have sent Deer and his proposed offer of 'assistance' packing, but after the GMC and Cedillo fiascos I am not so sure. John's above article demonstrates the way Brian Deer, who is quick to criticise Dr Wakefield's presence at conferences, is promoted and protected by those powerful corporate and political factions.

Brian Deer and The GMC, Selective Hearing. BMJ Journalist

Jenny Allan

The two Urabe mumps containing MMR vaccines, Immravax and Pluserix, were introduced into the UK child vaccination schedule during 1988; the former was manufactured by Merieux UK and the latter by SmithKlineBeecham, later to become the pharmaceutical giant GlaxoSmithKline. This MMR vaccine version was already causing widespread aseptic meningitis and other serious problems in Canada, but in spite of warnings, this vaccine was duly licensed for UK child administration.

It was three years before this dangerous vaccine was finally banned in the UK, by the vaccine manufacturers themselves, concerned about future litigation. The UK Government seemed oblivious to the widespread damage this MMR vaccine was causing to our British infants. The UK Government's response was to indemnify the MMR vaccine manufacturers, then slap a 20 year ban on any public reporting of the Urabe MMR vaccine scandal. The previously available NHS choice of single measles and Rubella vaccines was withdrawn. We will never know the extent of the damage caused by the Urabe MMR vaccine, but the issue surfaced in the UK press, just as the GMC guilty verdicts were declared against Dr Wakefield and his two clinician colleagues, Professors Walker-Smith and Murch, in 2010.

If this information had been in the public domain all along, it is extremely doubtful whether the three year GMC hearing against the three doctors would have taken place at all. The trumped up evidence against them, all provided by Brian Deer, the sole GMC complainant, would have been dismissed out of hand in a REAL court, as demonstrated during Professor Walker-Smith's High Court Appeal, February 2012. Lord Justice Mitting took exactly three DAYS to demolish all the GMC's verdicts, calling their examination of Deer's evidence 'inadequate and superficial' and in many cases just plain WRONG!!

Jennifer Poconos:- Deer's initial Sunday Times articles were written in 2004, more than ten years ago, concentrating on the 1998 Wakefield et al Lancet paper:-
Ileal-lymphoid-nodular hyperplasia, non-specific colitis, and pervasive developmental disorder in children
Volume 351, Number 9103 28 February 1998 A J Wakefield, S H Murch, A Anthony, J Linnell, D M Casson, M Malik, M Berelowitz, A P Dhillon, M A Thomson, P Harvey, A Valentine, S E Davies, J A Walker-Smith
In the intervening years Deer has written many more articles attacking Dr Wakefield and his Royal Free colleagues, including a collaboration with the British Medical Journal, all of these articles allege fraudulent fabrication of research data and unethical use of invasive procedures on children for purely research purposes. In spite of Judge Mitting's scathing dismissal of Deer's allegations and evidence, Deer, who has no scientific or medical qualifications, is still spewing his lies and fabrications about that short Lancet Early Report on twelve children, whenever he is given a platform.

THAT Lancet Wakefield et al paper was published 16 years ago. Science and research has moved on and an official link between autism and bowel disease is now universally admitted by world medical authorities, including the American Academy of Paediatricians. Other aspects of that little Lancet paper, including a hypothesised genetic link to live vaccine virus damage is also now being taken seriously by researchers. A recent Danish study claims to have found a gene responsible for MMR vaccine seizures, (which can lead to brain damage). It's just a matter of time before the world health authorities are dragged 'kicking and screaming' to admit a vaccine autism connection.

Historical malpractice and abuse are no less serious for being 'historical'.

That is a very stupid comment. One day something will be done. Meanwhile, the important thing is not to forget, or pretend it has not happened. That nothing was done tells us a great deal about the lamentable state of affairs. But remembering it is in itself doing something.

Jennifer Poconos

You people do realize that this is very old news, 3 years ago. If something was going to be done, it would have been done long ago.....

Linda1, thank you. It is absolutely sickening that the courts, people like Brian Deer can abuse a family in this way.
Lol, the picture accompanying this article is perfect.

There is a Go Fund Me page set up by Joan Campbell to help the family that Jenny is talking about, to help them pay for the legal and other costs required to win their case and recover custody of their son who was taken from them and institutionalized. As I understand, the parents are barred from seeing him. No donation would be too small. If everyone chips in whatever they can the help would be enormous for this family.

John Stone

Hi Jenny,

Yes, obviously an act of intimidation by Deer and the Sunday Times. While it is impossible to tell whether any of his claims are founded he was obviously in potential contempt of court although and E and A would have been left appealing to a court which had already found against them.

Without commenting on the specific case many parents will be confronted with the problem that adverse vaccine events are routinely not recorded. Absence of recording is not good evidence of the absence of such events. For instsnce, in heavily "doctored" letter to Achives of Disease in Childhood" eleven years ago I was allowed to comment:

"..., bad local reactions to vaccination may go unreported while parents' accounts of their child's development may be diluted by the tendency of medics to repeat stereo- typical histories (comparing notes with other parents this seems to be a common experience although there is no doubt it is all done in good faith)."

I don't know about "good faith" anymore. Another instance of alleged recall bias came up in the official review of Iraq War Syndrome. Actually, the paper (most prominent author Sir Simon Wessely now president of the Royal College of Psychiatry) could not even document what vaccine the cases had been given while challeging their memories:

No clarification was offered by the authors when I challenged them.

Well; say your prayers - guys that soon the spot light will be put on these roaches and what they have done.

OH, wait a minute! Brian Deer was one of those guys that was suppose to shine the light - on the roaches and he is a roach.

Along with Megan Kelly, and Anderson Cooper - and Ann Dachel got this covered -- right?

From above:- "In a rare mainstream re-appearance a few weeks ago Deer claimed to have inside knowledge of an anonymised court case."

John is referring to a recent UK Court of Protection case. These proceedings are normally shrouded in secrecy, with punitive contempt of court charges levied at anyone, who dares to publicly name any person involved, or provide information which could lead to identifications. Recent public concerns about the lack of transparency and accountability of these secretive courts, has led to a few COP transcripts being published and made available to the public, although these have continued to conceal the identities of 'accused' persons, usually the parents of vulnerable children or adults, where 'protection orders' are sought by local authorities via social workers, and (often) psychiatrists employed by them for assessments.

This case concerned a young non verbal adult autistic male person, called 'M' by the court, his mother referred to as 'E', and father 'A'.
Without going too far into the 30 day court submissions, the Judge effectively found 'E' had abused 'M' by 'Munchhausen's Syndrome by Proxy, (now called Factitious Disorder imposed on others-same difference). The lad's mother was convinced her son's autism was caused by the vaccine Immravax, an early Urabe Mumps containing MMR vaccine, manufactured by Merioux UK, (the French pharmaceutical company hosting the above conference, where Deer was invited as both prominent speaker and session chairman). At A's insistence, M was assessed by the Royal Free team, which included Dr Wakefield. He was found to have constipation and given appropriate treatment. M was NOT given any 'invasive' procedures, and he was deemed NOT to have the bowel condition as described in the 1998 Lancet paper.

Rather curiously, The Judge accepted a number of 'alternative therapies' with which E attempted to ameliorate M's bowel and other conditions were 'harmless'; these included reflexology, probiotics and a gluten & casein free diet. However, the Judge considered this regime overly 'controlling' and preventing M from achieving more 'independence'. Those AoA parents, presently struggling with adult non verbal autistic children with difficult or challenging behaviour, might just sympathise with this desperate mother, but no such sympathy was forthcoming from the Judge, who plainly had no idea about the realities of what is and is not achievable with persons like 'M', for whom eventual 'independence is just a 'pipe dream', and who will require a measure of supervision and control for life, whoever administers it.

The psychiatrist appointed by the court to assess E, came from Broadmoor, a secure hospital for the criminally insane. This alone was enough to 'condemn E by association'. According to the psychiatrist, E had "a narcissistic personality disorder" an "emotionally unstable personality disorder" and "factitious disorder", although a final assessment of the latter was left to the discretion of the Judge, who agreed wholeheartedly with the psychiatrist.
The mother was told by the Judge to demonstrate a “fundamental change of attitude”, or face “permanent steps” to restrict her involvement in the future of her much-loved son.

The Sunday Times of 12 October 2014
Needless to say Brian Deer had a 'field day' with the Judge's transcript, which Deer used to condemn, not only E, but ALL mothers of autistic children, who happen to blame MMR vaccine damage. Deer calls them all 'Wakefield Mothers'. Once again Murdoch's Sunday Times gave Deer a platform to vent his spleen, and this was repeated on Deer's website and those other pro vaccine sites managed by the likes of Carey and Gorski. Deer states E, "now in her fifties, has appeared at pro-Wakefield rallies with her son. She has denounced judges, doctors and journalists, including me. (I have met her but cannot name her.) She sued a giant drug company."

If Deer knows who E is, he has been told illegally. I am aware of most prominent 'MMR vaccine campaigning' mothers, and cannot 'match' E with any of them. Meantime, I am worried about E and her much loved son M. This nasty system is on course to deprive a mother of her son, and the son of his mother, the latter condemned to live his life in a succession of institutions, with little or no emotional support.
