On Sept 10, 2014, I found an incredible article from NewsMax.com with the title, Did CDC Hide Autism's Link to Vaccines? by Nick Tate. It was real live investigative journalism. Tate talked to Dr. Andrew Wakefield and Dr. Brian Hooker about the whistleblower story. There were actual quotes from them. Dr, William Thompson was cited.
Thompson: 'I regret that my coauthors and I omitted statistically significant information in our 2004 article [suggesting] that African-American males who received the MMR vaccine before age 36 months were at increased risk for autism.'
Hooker: "Individuals receiving the MMR vaccine before 36 months of age were 3.4 times more likely to receive an autism diagnosis versus those individuals who received the MMR vaccine after 36 months of age.
"More research needs to be completed to understand this finding. This may be an effect of the MMR vaccine exclusively, but it may be an artifact of the entire vaccination schedule."
Wakefield: "Hooker's reanalysis 'confirms the original CDC findings that they hid. that younger age of exposure to MMR [is] a particular risk for autism in black boys. The data also show a very strong association with children, irrespective of race, who had no pre-existing condition prior to MMR, such as cerebral palsy, a genetic condition, or mental retardation.'
"Asked if he believes CDC's own research suggests vaccines are dangerous to most kids, Dr. Wakefield says: 'We simply don't know because of the unfathomable complexity of the pediatric vaccine schedule combined with the parlous state of vaccine safety research - research that has been essentially controlled and spun by a conflicted and now demonstrably corrupt CDC.'
"'What is evident is that U.S. children are among the sickest in the world with unprecedented levels of immune system diseases and infant mortality rates that are worse than any other developed country.'"
This was groundbreaking coverage. Surely NewsMax will stay on this and continue to cover what could turn out to be the biggest scandal in U.S. medical history. Nick Tate was doing his job as a reporter. He was talking to the people involved in this issue and quoting them, not just writing hearsay about them.
I became a little worried because after finding and sharing the NewsMax story about the whistleblower, I found another NewsMax article, also dated Sept 10, 2014, called, Dangerous to Avoid Childhood Vaccines, by Susan Estrich
What Estrich wrote was really just an opinion piece trashing parents who chose not to vaccinate their children. She called them "selfish," and announced, "Every child is supposed to be immunized before they start kindergarten."
Without bothering to interview any exempting parents or doctors who oppose the one-size-fits-all vaccine schedule, Estrich stated, "A few years ago, it was very 'fashionable' to believe that vaccinations caused autism. I say 'fashionable' because there was never one ounce of scientific proof establishing any such connection, and yet you could turn on your television and see the topic being debated as if it were one about which reasonable authorities could disagree. Reasonable authorities could not disagree. The so-called studies suggesting a link to autism were thoroughly and totally discredited. And yet the trend continues."
Evidently there are two types of reporters at NewsMax: ones who know how to legitimately cover a story ...and one who don't. Here we have both. I think we do a disservice to label Nick Tate and Susan Estrich "reporters" .. which suggest both are equally deserving of the label.
Surely .. Susan Estrich is not worthy of the label "reporter" .. since her "report" was nothing more than stating her own "opinion". I think a better label for Ms. Estrich would be "commentator" ....
After all .. I would not consider myself a "reporter" for merely stating my own opinions .. which by the way ... are in total disagreement with the opinions of Susan Estrich.
Nick Tate on the other hand .. actually deserves the label "reporter" since that is exactly what he did .. identify the issue .. interview those invovled .. and .. then "report" on your findings. Simple enough ... that...

Blaylock is probably a driver for the story. Interesting that he'd cast his lot with that demographic.
