Sept 4, 2014, C-Span: Briefing Vaccines Vaccination Issues
Paul Offit and a group of pro-vaccine advocates take the stage and discuss how to convince parents that there's nothing to worry about when they vaccinate their children.
For those of us who know what's happening with the CDC whistleblower scandal, this whole thing is nothing short of bizarre. I can't imagine people who could possibly sound more out of touch with what's happening in the real world.
There is no acknowledgement that there are reasons to be worried about vaccine side effects. The speakers are only those promoting vaccines and the PBS documentary, Vaccines--Calling the shots. It's condescending. It's horribly insulting to parents of vaccine injured children. If you think your child was fine until he or she was vaccinated, it was only a coincidence. The point is clearly made.
Anyone who wants to modify the vaccine schedule is ridiculed.
The only person who mentioned (and dismissed) a connection between vaccines and autism was Joe Lawlor, the health reporter at the Portland (ME) Press Herald. (He admitted that he'd only looked into this issue for the last month, yet he was totally convinced that vaccines are safe and parents with concerns have to be educated.)
The others on the panel have an obvious bias--Paul Offit, vaccine profiteer (his rota virus vaccine was not mentioned, of course) and those connected to the NOVA documentary, "Vaccines--Calling the Shots.
At the start, the audience is told:
"We're here to talk about reporting on vaccinations and outbreaks of vaccine-preventable diseases and to share some insights we've gained while preparing our upcoming program, [PBS documentary] Vaccines--Calling the shots."
We hear about "vaccine preventable outbreaks" and "confused parents." This furthers the myth that only ignorant parents are worried about vaccine side effects. Paul Offit talks about "600 cases of measles." We're told Offit "cares passionately about public health."
This is to be expected. Lots of people want to cover up what autism is doing to our children and charges of malfeasance on the part of health officials.
The theme of this whole thing: HOW DO WE CONVINCE SCARED, IGNORANT PARENTS TO VACCINATE THEIR CHILDREN?
It is clear that children with autism--those that were healthy, talking, happy children and who suddenly disappeared into autism---don't matter to these people.
My questions:
Will C-Span have air time for Dr. Greg Poland, top vaccine researcher at the Mayo Clinic who has publicly stated that the measles vaccine immunity wears off? (He was only covered in the National Post in Canada.)
Will C-Span have Dr. Brian Hooker next talking about Dr. William Thompson, a top CDC researcher and whistleblower who has revealed that the CDC falsified research results on the effects of the MMR vaccine on African American boys?
Will C-Span interview Dr. Jon Poling about the fact that the federal government compensated his daughter's vaccine injuries that included autism?
Will C-Span talk to any of the investigators who uncovered 83 cases of vaccine damage compensated by the federal government--damage that included autism?
Will C-Span talk to any of the dozens of independent researchers whose work raises serious concerns about vaccine safety?
OR will C-Span continue to promote every pharma-funded propaganda officials and doctors like Paul Offit keep giving us?
It should be noted that seven years ago, June 18, 2007, Dan Olmsted appeared on C-Span: Federal Court Case on Vaccines
He was talking about a very different aspect of the vaccine program.

Yes, I agree with this as an explanation of Offit's 10,000 vaccine nonsense. I wrote about this first in 2010:

What Paul Offit ACTUALLY said, was that infants could safely receipt 100,000 vaccines at once.
I don't know when he changed it to 10,000 , but 100,000 is definitely what he said.
And it is very important to get that right.

The front page article in the Denver Post yesterday was about an increase in severe respiratory illnesses warranting hospitalization possibly caused by a "rare" viral pathogen, enterovirus 68. The children most often hospitalized are the very young and children with asthma. The article noted that vaccines are not yet available. I'm sure it will be available and mandated soon as we get closer and closer to that "10,000 at a time" mark. The research should center on why we have so many children severely ill from a virus that "usually causes mild respiratory illness".

10000 CRAZY VACCINES !
There was a storm of amazement and disbelief when Dr. Paul Offit, vaccine industry insider and perhaps the most widely stated defender of vaccine safety, made the outrageous statement that each infant would have the theoretical capacity to respond to about 10,000 vaccines at any one time.
Many denounced the statement as being downright crazy, but it was soon apparent that there was method in the madness.
The words originated from Dr. Offit’s and co-authors’ article in the Journal of the American Academy of Pediatrics “Addressing Parents’ Concerns: Do Multiple Vaccines Overwhelm or Weaken the Infant’s Immune System?”
The statement is not supported by facts. It is based on a purely theoretical calculation with no relation to reality and it should have been dismissed as having no practical application.
But it was not dismissed. On the contrary it is widely quoted completely out of context to promote concomitant administration of many vaccines.
The strategy is surely to lull parents into accepting introduction of even more vaccines in the childhood vaccination schedule, the more the merrier.
Whilst there are practically no unbiased safety studies concerning concomitantly administered vaccines, coupled with the fact that risk of adverse events increases with increasing numbers of vaccines, advocating even more is irresponsible and unethical.

The C Span / Offit Vaccine briefing looked a lot like the hearing a few years back where
the tobacco executives all told Congress, one by one, that nicotine was not addictive...
Any questions about Autism are answered with "lets talk about the measles."

Meanwhile while the Offits of the world get to hog the news -- I am watching Fox News -- waiting -- yes waiting for them to do their and report about the recent big news out of CDC -- besides the story about finding a box of small pox that is.
And what do I hear - something about ivy league colleges are not all they are cracked up to be - that they are full of kids that are timid and worse most of these affluent kids -- have mental health problems -- but as long as they get As no one cares -- and they are good at hiding their problems.
So I looked up NAMI and found out a few stats. Love stats -- they have served us so well in the past 40 years.
I was shocked:

More than 11 percent of college students have been diagnosed or treated for anxiety in the past year and more than 10 percent reported being diagnosed or treated for depression.4

Colleges across the country have reported large increases in enrollment.9 At the same time, college counseling centers have also observed an increase in the prevalence and severity of mental health issues experienced by students and an increase in the number of students taking psychotropic medications.10
Mental health issues are a leading impediment to academic success.
In an American College Health Association report released in 2011, students cited depression and anxiety as among the top impediments to academic performance.
64 percent of young adults who are no longer in college are not attending college because of a mental health related reason.11 Depression, bipolar disorder and posttraumatic stress disorder are the primary diagnoses of these young adults.12
31 percent of college students have felt so depressed in the past year that it was difficult to function and more than 50 percent have felt overwhelming anxiety, making it hard to succeed academically.13
College students are not seeking help.
More than 45 percent of young adults who stopped attending college because of mental health related reasons did not request accommodations.14 50 percent of them did not access mental health services and supports either.15
Overall, 40 percent of students with diagnosable mental health conditions did not seek help.16 57 percent of them did not request accommodations from their school.17
Concern of stigma is the number one reason students do not seek help.18
Suicide is a real concern.
7 percent of college students have “seriously considered suicide” during the past year.19
Suicide is the 3rd leading cause of death on college campuses.20"

I must say - that the beginning just puts us to sleep -- no alarm here - It has always been this way -- we are just now beginnning to understand that it is there.

Thousands of parents would be willing to bear witness to the truth that their child regressed into autism after vaccination and would attest to a temporal connection.
Are they suggesting mass hysteria on a very grand scale?
