I realize I’m way late to this conversation and most of you have probably seen it already, but for anyone who hasn’t seen the documentary Trace Amounts: Ethyl Mercury on YouTube, you absolutely must watch it! It shows an undeniable link between mercury and autism. Dangerous levels of Mercury are still in vaccines including the flu vaccine which is pushed heavily (even on pregnant mothers) without disclosing any possible risks. I can’t believe the CDC is still getting away with these blatant lies!

My grandson was recently diagnosed with Autism disorder. I can’t believe someone would do that to children and not letting parents know at least give them a option when to give it to their child . This is my granddaughter first child she is a new mother and to see that people are saying that this was done to her child deliberately is crazy to me. Only a person with no conscience to do something like that.

Those conversations were not recorded in Georgia, they were recorded in Oregon. In Oregon it is legal to make such recordings.

Lawrence,
I hope that you don't feel that you've taken up too much room here on enemy territory with your remarks. I would like very much to hear your take on the sentences in Thompson's statement about the CDC deliberately omitting the study results showing the huge increase of autism in young black toddlers who got the MMR. Could you tell us what you think of those lines, and only those lines? Thank you for your time.

You desperation is pathetic. Thompson just screwed you completely--you just don't realize it yet.
Posted by: Avenger23 | August 28, 2014 at 10:25 AM
I think we should push for a retraction of the study and for the gov't to pay for it being redone. If the study is redone, it should be done transparently and by an independent research group such as UC Davis MIND Institute or Caltech that has no ties to the CDC and that the parents agree on who will conduct it.

Is there a video of the "performance based award" that Dr. Thompson received at the CDC a few days back ???
Was there a cake ? doughnuts ? I would assume Dr. Boyle was there as well as a bunch of other vaccine intellects.
One would think Dr. Boyle would want Dr. Thompson to lead an investigation into this MMR issue as well as the Dr. Verstraten Thimerosal studies and their illegal CDC/vaccine industry meeting at Simpsonwood in June of 2000.

This discusses the legality of recording private conversations:
http://www.dmlp.org/legal-guide/georgia-recording-law
I am not a lawyer, but I would imagine that if Dr. Thompson was in Georgia when the recordings were made then he would be unable to bring an action since Georgia would have jurisdiction over the recording of his end of the conversation.
A legal case would also bring considerable publicity to the story, and involve Dr. Thompson having to face questions over his actions while under penalty of perjury.
The article by CNN that Angus has brought up links to this study from 2011, finding that the brains of some autistic boys contain an excess of neurons that were most likely formed in utero:
http://thechart.blogs.cnn.com/2011/11/08/new-study-suggests-autism-starts-in-the-womb/
More recent research has shown that autism may stem from a failure to prune excess neurons, which implies that the damage may happen later:
http://www.the-scientist.com/?articles.view/articleNo/40833/title/Synaptic-Pruning-Improves-Autism-in-Mice/
http://psychcentral.com/news/2014/08/23/in-autism-poor-pruning-of-neurons-leads-to-excess-synapses/73982.html
The Ministry of Truth has not, thus far, linked the two.

Check out the 3 linked video stories on the left margin of the CNN Health report - all about autism, with the middle one entitled "Living with autism as an adult" with the caption:
"I want the world to know that autism is not a tragedy, but a journey of learning and growing."
See, even if there were some problems with the CDC's research, autism isn't a problem, it isn't a disease or a disorder, it's a wonderful journey where one learns and grows.

Not to belabor this recording thing, but it likely matters whether Thompson would be considered a private citizen or a government official.

Surprise surprise.
CNN finally comes out with a story on it's "Health" section and says there's no problem at the CDC or with any of the vaccines the CDC recommends. No, the only problem is with the Hooker paper which has been retracted.

Dr. Thompson concedes fraud in the first paragraph. The 2004 Pediatrics article should be retracted immediately.
Keep in mind that this research team produced more papers that, along with the papers produced by Poul Thorsen, were relied on to rule against petitioners in the Omnibus Autism Proceedings.

Hey Lawrence, CDC defender, please show me the studies the cdc commissioned since 2004 to better understand why african american boys have an increased risk of autism due to MMR. What actions did the organization take behind the scenes in the past decade to protect this subgroup of children?

Just read a friend this letter and she said the bottom paragraph is complete bull. He would never write things like this; coersion is the only answer. It's very OTT- "professionals", "performance based award" ,"no retaliation". It's actually chilling.

Someone in Congress will be seeking the November VOTE of those affected by the endless medical fraud at the CDC. That will determine much of what happens in the future.
I would suppose Dr. Thompson will be the number one guest at the next Autism hearing. He can then explain his "tired of lying" statement & "I can't believe what we did."
Other guests should be Gerberding, Dr. Wakefield, Dr. Hooker a few from Simpsonwood, and Dr. Geier who was not treated well by the CDC.
Dr. Nancy could be invited and be told to shut up...
The conduct on Nixon and Clinton did not harm a single child and those investigations went on for months.
Posted by: cmo | August 27, 2014 at 10:10 PM
The plot thickens.
Clearly Thompson admits that data concerning the risks of the MMR for black males was improperly omitted from his 2004 paper. Yes, in paragraph 3 he says he supports vaccines *in general*, but there he may be guarding himself against the accusation that he's "anti-vaccine". In paragraph 4 he says he does have concerns about "a particular vaccine" -- the MMR. In paragraph 5 he says that he discussed all this with Hooker for 10 months but was never aware that he was being recorded (difficult to believe) and that his name was released without his permission, but he never criticizes Hooker or Wakefield. He doesn't sound like he's getting ready to sue them. It may be that CDC confidentiality rules prohibit employees from discussing these matters on tape, so to protect himself Thompson is claiming (falsely) that he was recorded without his permission. And in paragraph 6 he says he's providing information to the fiercest critic of vaccine policy in the US Congress, William Posey. If the CDC gave him an award after this story broke, it may be that they're running scared and are trying to buy him off with hush money. They may also fear that retaliating against a whistleblower would have very serious legal consequences.
There are still a lot of unanswered questions, but so far so good, I say.

This . Is. Huge!
We have been ridiculed , shut down, insulted, and slammed for speaking our truths.
We are finally vindicated that science was manipulated to conceal this truth.
The idea that vaccines cause autism was a heresy and this Dr had the guts
to broach it.
The fact that they gave him a reward for it proves they are running scared.
But it sounds so Orwellian , so Stockholm-syndrome that I fear for him. While
he still supports vaccination , he does NOT say get vaccinated in all cases.
He DOES say they harm some
And that we need honestly about that. This. Is. Huge. Yahoo!!!!
And Lawrence go volunteer in a special needs class for a week and change a few diapers, quell a few tantrums. And then insult autism moms for trying to prevent this from happening to YOUR kid too.

This statement is a conformation of dr. Thompson's previous claims in the interviews. It is naturally guarded, as he must protect himself from CDC vengeance. We must understand this. But frankly, we don't need publications to tell us what we have seen with our own eyes, that our children became autistic after vaccinations. Medical sciences are is extremely corrupt in our times, they are basically useless. We must relay on our own instincts and experiences as well as on collective experiences of other parents. Science is dead, we are living in the age of pseudoscientific lies and propaganda.

Jim Carrey's words come to mind again: "The problem is the problem."
So to be clear, the least of it is what Drs Hooker or Wakefield did, but the fact that autism rate is soaring and a top CDC scientist has made so e very troubling statements against his very own work. He is obviously a very conflicted man. That 3rd and last paragraph are just bizarre.
Posted by: Falsescientistsmakemelaugh | August 27, 2014 at 08:21 PM
"Again, you guys are delusional if you think Dr. Thompson's press release in any way confirms what Hooker said."
Dr. Hooker said that there was a "statistically significant relationship between the age the MMR vaccine was first given and autism incidence in African-American boys was hidden by CDC researchers."
Dr. Thompson says in his statement that "the omitted data suggested that African American males who received the MMR vaccine before 36 months were at increased risk for autism"
That confirms what Dr. Hooker was saying.
Yep...cognitive dissonance. You poor, desperate pseudo-skeptic
Posted by: False Skeptics Make me Laugh | August 27, 2014 at 07:58 PM
He's old, he didn't even realize that mercury is completely in most of the flu shots being given to babies, children, and everyone else. I'm sure he would like to do penance to absolve himself of the evil he has condoned and enabled. I'm disappointed that he wasn't able to cut his ties to the Dark Side, wasn't strong enough to continue to the end. I'm sure it is comfortable to be rich and, up until recently (when they lost the war for public opinion, as he said in his letter to Julie Gerberding) universally admired and applauded, his every word respected, at the CDC. But what profiteth it a man should he gain the whole world, and he lose his soul? And, while I'm throwing out extremely trite but accurate platitudes, the road to hell is paved with good intentions.
Posted by: cia parker | August 27, 2014 at 07:54 PM
they are going to turn this on Hooker never mind the fact that Thompson clearly states that the CDC officials consciously decided to omit data that significantly altered the outcome of the study. this isn't over CDC. not by a long shot
Posted by: Autismmom | August 27, 2014 at 07:39 PM
Lawrence,
I don't believe any of it. It doesn't make any sense. And, I also think it's entirely possible for a powerful government to influence a law firm.
The man is on audio saying that the CDC research showed that black children are at higher risk of autism if getting the MMR before 36 months and how worried and guilty and torn up he is about the fact that they deliberately buried the data and there are emails from him pleading with his colleagues to be honest with Congress and saying how worried he was about what they were doing and saying and then he comes out today and says in this statement that he believes that all children, regardless of race, should be vaccinated according to schedule?
NOT BELIEVABLE.

Lawrence,
Why do you have so much invested in defending the practice of knowingly causing autism in toddlers by giving them the MMR (and other) vaccines? Everyone has admitted that yes, the MMR more than triples autism in the black toddlers who get it. Do you not have any problem with this?
Posted by: cia parker | August 27, 2014 at 07:20 PM
He can't even admit that Dr. Thompson *confirmed* Dr. Hooker's statement that there was a significant increase in risk for autism in African American children who were vaccinated with MMR before 36 weeks.
His cognitive dissonance must be profound.
Posted by: False Skeptics Make me Laugh | August 27, 2014 at 07:17 PM
Even though Thompson made the statement vaccines are safe and effective, really what else could he say if he's still working at the CDC? I know I've read over the years where a scientist is exposing a danger in vaccines and at the same time will say they are safe, effective and have saved millions of lives. It's his insurance for job security. By stating he didn't give permission for his name to be revealed nor did he know that he was being recorded. Come on! Really? Did he really expect to out a criminal organization as large as the CDC and not expect the information to recorded? Having worked on the inside for over a decade he knows how those people operate so he should know the only way for Dr. Hooker and Wakefield to validate the information was to reveal his name. This way professional trolls like Dorit, Mike, LieLady and the others can't do what they have done since this broke, going on every website screaming there was no whistleblower.
As much as I appreciate Thompson coming forward my thoughts go to the hundreds of thousands of children who have had their lives altered all because these evil people decided it was in their financial best interest as well as their professional interest to sacrifice children. Thompson should have manned up years ago and come forward when when Congressman Burton was working so hard to expose this atrocity. Thank you Dr. Thompson but at the same time I would say damn you as well as the others who perpetuated these crimes against humanity.

@Bob - I'm not the one that is delusional here. I don't know what press release you are reading, but it certainly isn't one by someone who supports your particular cause....
If anything, it reiterates Dr. Thompson's support for the CDC & the process, that he is fully in favor of vaccines & would never recommend that anyone not get them (regardless of race) and that he welcomes an evaluation of the study by "unbiased & objective" scientists - very much insinuating that Hooker was neither unbiased nor objective.
Since he has retained counsel & stated that he was recorded without his knowledge (and outed online without permission) - it does in fact look like he is preparing to take action against those who did so (specifically Hooker & Wakefield).
Perhaps you need to clean your glasses Bob.
Posted by: Lawrence | August 27, 2014 at 06:51 PM
@ Lawrence ... how sad is it that you are reduced to posting:
"Someone is going to get sued alright....and it isn't the CDC .. recording conversations without permission is a crime & putting those conversations online without permission is also a crime."
How about addressing Dr. Thompson's "guilt ridden admission" instead:
"I regret my co-authors and I omitted statistically significant information in our 2004 article published in the journal Pediatrics. The omitted data suggested that African American males who received the MMR vaccine before 36 months were at increased risk for autism. Decisions were made regarding which findings to report after the data was collected, and I believe that the final study protocol was not followed."
Do YOU ... LAWRENCE .. not care the CDC "omitted data suggesting that African American males who received the MMR vaccine before 36 months were at increased risk for autism"?
And you expect the AoA community to respect your opinions???
Posted by: BoB Moffitt | August 27, 2014 at 06:38 PM
@Linda - the press release is from the Law Firm he hired. More than likely, there is also a violation of laws involving the recording of Federal officials as well - I can almost guarantee that Dr. Thompson is going to be filing suit against both Hooker and Wakefield.
Just read the press release - it doesn't say what you think it says. In fact, it couldn't be more pro-vaccine and anti-Hooker.
Posted by: Lawrence | August 27, 2014 at 06:34 PM
I think everyone needs to look at what Dr. Thompson has written, highlighted in the upper right corner of this page:
"My name is William Thompson. I am a Senior Scientist with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention where I have worked since 1998.
I regret my co-authors and I omitted statistically significant information in our 2004 article published in the journal Pediatrics. The omitted data suggested that African American males who received the MMR vaccine before 36 months were at increased risk for autism."
What else do you expect the guy to do? He has come clean and admitted that CDC omitted/suppressed evidence that MMR shot causes autism. He is not Jenny McCarthy, or Andy Wakefield- and his pro vaccination paragraph demonstrates he is not an "extremist anti vaccine nut job." He is pro vaccine, part of CDC, and ringing the alarm bell on live virus shots.
Further he goes on to say he will re-investigate, provided the CDC is not involved:
"I will do everything I can to assist any unbiased and objective scientists outside of the CDC to analyze data collected by the CDC or other public organizations for the purpose of understanding whether vaccines are associated with an increased risk of autism. There are still more questions than answers, and I appreciate that so many families are looking for answers from the scientific community."
So- 1)CDC official admits to omitting data that suggests MMR causes autism and 2) he will assist"unbiased and objective" scientists- specifically excluding the CDC from that group.
Sounds like a vindication to me, and a sweet one. Senior CDC vaccine official acknowledges suppressing evidence MMR shot causes autism.

In my opinion, nothing has changed other that the fact that Dr.Thompson was pressured into giving a statement to appease the CDC and lower the heat on them at this time because its hot in there right now. Meanwhile he said what he said and will talk to Congressman Posey, what he said he said, he didn't say he didn't, so it sounds like were on track for a positive outcome.

Lawrence, it very well may be a crime to tape someone but this kind of widespread CDC malfeasance Thompson refers to (MMR, thimerosal use in pregnant women, who knows what else) is more than disconcerting. It doesnt match up with the politically correct statement he makes in his third paragraph.
He said he "basically stopped lying," that he would never give his pregnant wife a shot with thimerosal." And who knows what else.
Sonofi's study of pregnant women receiving TDaP in Canada should surely be re-thought?

Dr. Thompson is nowhere near as contrite as he needs to be. He has been complicit in harming/disabling/killing millions (billions?) of children worldwide. He should be beside himself with guilt, shame, and disgust. Perhaps if he were made to visit our homes, homes in which the vaccine-injured dwell, he would not put forth such a flippant statement. And how dare he state that he is still supportive of vaccines and our nation's dangerous vaccine program with all he knows. Crimes against humanity, and he's in the thick of it, and no longer sounds remorseful. What a disappointment. No, what a disgrace.

To that end, I think that the data from Japan needs to be brought forth and given to Congressman Posey, too, showing that once Japan pushed back the age for giving vaccines to their babies until age 2, their ranking for infant mortality improved dramatically:
http://www.vaclib.org/basic/japanusa.htm
Baby brains cannot handle the multitude of vaccines given to them, no matter what the baby's race might be. Perhaps the "live" vaccines are the most damaging as their attenuated viral components can reassort and wreak havoc on the immune system and the brain, and that should be studied in great depth for the safety of our children. What Dr. Thompson discovered from the data in that 2004 study is merely the tip of the iceberg.

Lawrence,
That's possibly true (except that Georgia is a single party knowledge state, if I'm not mistaken).
