The CDC released the latest numbers Thursday during a news conference.
Nearly all the cases have been linked to travellers who caught the virus abroad and spread it in the United States among unvaccinated people. Many of the travellers had been to the Philippines, where a recent measles epidemic has caused more than 30,000 illnesses.
In April and May 2014, the National Post (Financial Post) in Canada gave us the articles by Lawrence Solomon that questioned the efficacy of the measles vaccine, featuring a U.S. expert, Dr. Gregory Poland. Now they're publishing Mike Stobbe's piece about the CDC's claim that it's unvaccinated people who are getting sick. I posted the comment below.
Mike Stobbe needs to check his claims about who's getting measles and why it's happening with Dr. Gregory Poland at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. He's one of the top experts in the world when it comes to vaccines.
These recent stories from the National Post, make it clear that Dr. Poland believes the measles vaccine doesn't work in many cases. He says that it's vaccinated individuals who are getting sick.
Everyday we have health officials/doctors in U.S. news stories blaming non-vaccinating parents for outbreaks of disease. Dr. Poland is telling us that we have to make changes in how we vaccinate and that there are plenty of reasons to question the efficacy and safety of the vaccine we have now. Why didn't this important story make the U.S. news?
Dr. John Greally and his team discovered differences in two groups of genes that may explain why some kids get autism and some don't. The researcher says he is 'optimistic' that doctors will one day find a cure.
Vague hope that someday there'll be a cure for autism. No urgency, no mention of the rate, no demand for answers...just a hope...
Make no mistake, the measles outbreak in the U.S. is an act of choice, of election, of a decision to get sick-or a decision by parents to put their children at risk.
Fully 90% of the new cases are among people who are unvaccinated or whose vaccination status is unknown. And nearly all of those people are unvaccinated for personal, philosophical or religious reasons-as opposed to any medical condition that requires them to avoid vaccines.
Jeffrey Kluger at TIME is an old hand at giving us the pro-pharma side of vaccines and the link to autism. Thank you to Lawrence Solomon who actually researched the truth about who's getting measles and why. Demonizing parents who say vaccines harmed their children is his real forte. If the press does this long enough, parents of vaccine injured children will be too afraid to open their months about what they know happened to their children. And that may well be the plan here. WE ALL NEED TO GET THE MESSAGE STRAIGHT: VACCINES CAN'T EVER HARM ANYONE. AND THEY ALWAYS WORK.
