April 24, 2014, Philly.com: A rise in autism rates: What does it really mean?
April 23, 2014, Philly.com: For kids' sakes, stick to the vax
Although "autism" is scary, there are a few things about ASD that caregivers should keep in mind that can help ease their fears. To begin, we don't know what causes ASD. It's likely a combination of factors, including genetic and environmental, that caregivers, for the most part, don't have control over. So worrying too much about ASD isn't needed - if it's there in your child, there's no way you could have prevented it. . . .
Philly.com had two autism stories in two days. The first one denied a link to vaccines and the next day readers were told that the rate isn't really increasing, and besides, there's no way to prevent autism.
Thanks to the efforts of McCarthy, actor Aidan Quinn and reality-TV star Kristin Cavallari, who last month said that not vaccinating was the "best decision for her kids," USA Today ran a big story on April 6 detailing that things like whooping cough, measles and other diseases are making a big comeback and sometimes causing death in children.
My go-to person on how dangerously misinformed the anti-vaxxers are is Dr. Paul Offit, of Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
Trusting Paul Offit on vaccines? It would have been legitimate coverage if we would have been told about Offit's pharma ties. I brought it up in the comment section.

I doubt whether this reply to Dorit Reiss is going to see the light of day on Philly.com
'I have never seen such a lot of eyewash -eyewash dressed up in sciency language. There is no basis for such a calculation. How can you say how many antigens irrespective of what antigens are - smallpox, bubonic plague, anthrax etc It is treating antigens like they are magic bullets. The have different and often terrifying possibilites. Even Offit wasn't keen to bring back smallpox vaccine. There is nothing discreet about this stuff: it stimulates responses, different responses for different antgens. The whole thing is inherently messy and if you expose infants to a complex of infections at any one time there is obviously potentially much more to go wrong (not to mention it being harder to detect the specific cause).
'I am not taking anything out of context. The language is slippery and it is sci-fi drivel.
'"Professor Dorit Rubinstein Reiss is quickly becoming the nation’s foremost legal expert about the potential for tort liability for parents who choose not to vaccinate their children."

bamboozle is a good word.
I believe it pretty much tells us - cause the ones telling us all this - have been to college so they can learn - they seem to be fairly intelligent.
As Mark Blaxill said: What did they know -- and when did they know it?
They should have known it way back in the 70s with Barabar Fisher. Bamboozle started then.

After a day's delay the trolls were back on solemn duty at Philly.com; Dorit Reiss, Bpatient, Lilady R.N. (I wonder whether R.N. stands for Rene Najera?). I felt particularly pleased with my comment:
"It is interesting to note that in the paper 'Adressing parents concerns: Do multiple vaccines overwhelm..' the paragraph which ends with 10,000 vaccines hypothesis begins with the sentence 'A more practical way to determine the diversity of the immune response would be to estimate the number of vaccines to which a child could respond at one time.' So it is not only 'theoretical', it is also 'practical' (an oxymoron like 'Respectul Insolence' and designed to confuse). It is also doublethink - if an infant's body was naturally able to withstand environmental assault why would they need 'protecting' and even if an infant is naturally able to meet the challenge of enviromental antigens and it has many organs to do so, would this be remotely comparable with circumventing the process and injecting the infant with antigens and lots of other toxins as well (shall we say this is an apple and oranges situation). Is this an attempt to reassure parents with science (there is no experimental base) or just to bamboozle them? The claim has been made - I can assure you - by UK health officials trying to ward off parents' concerns about over vaccination, so we ask is that practical or theoretical, mumbo jumbo or just plain dissembling?"

I don't know who wrote this stupid admission .. but .. whoever it was .. could not have chosen a better example of "conflict of interest".
Let's see .. millions put their faith and trust in former Vice President Dick Chaney who not only knew Saddam had weapons of mass destruction .. he knew exactly where those weapons were being stored.
How about the millions who put their faith and trust in GM to provide them with autos that were "SAFE" .. only to learn they denied any responsibility for "unintended acceleration" for at least a decade AFTER they knew of the design defect.
Actually .. .choosing Offit as "your go to guy" on vaccine safety . is clear and convincing evidence you are an idiot.

A BC woman has taken her son's life and then killed herself. The son was getting very difficult for her to manage and she physically could not be safe with him. So sad.
