Congressman Posey Accuses CDC Over Corruption
U.S. Congressman Compares Corruption in CDC's Vaccine Safety Studies to SEC's Handling of Bernie Madoff Scandal. Congressman Posey Has Strong Words for Government Agency: "I think the CDC Should Be Investigated."
WATCHUNG, N.J., April 16, 2014 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- In an April 8 interview on AutismOne's A Conversation of Hope radio show, Congressman Bill Posey's strong resolve and demands for transparency were evident as he discussed the Center for Disease Control (CDC)'s handling of vaccine safety studies which affect "our most precious resource in our nation – our children." The 30-minute interview, conducted by vaccine industry watchdog, PhD biochemist Brian Hooker, delves into what Posey called "the incestuous relationship between the public health community and the vaccine makers and public officials.
The Florida legislator, known as "Mr. Accountabililty," did not mince words when criticizing current and past CDC officials including indicted fraudster Dr. Poul Thorsen; CDC director turned Merck Vaccine President Dr. Julie Gerberding; and the agency's current spokesperson regarding autism and vaccines, Dr. Coleen Boyle.
On Thorsen, Posey said "If you read through the emails and learned about the meetings and the financial arrangement this crook had with the CDC, it will make you absolutely sick to your stomach. This was no casual researcher way down the line. This is the CDC's key man in Denmark. He was closely tied to the CDC's top vaccine safety researchers… as long as Thorsen was cooking the books to produce the results they wanted, they didn't care whether the studies were valid or how much money was being siphoned off the top…It's like the Security and Exchange Commission and Bernie Madoff. But it's worse because we're talking about someone who basically stole money that was supposed to be used to improve the health and safety of our most vulnerable in our society – our young babies."
Dr. Hooker remarked that Thorsen had collaborated with the CDC on 36 papers, not just one paper as claimed by Dr. Boyle, and that the agency refused to investigate studies exonerating vaccines' role in causing autism following his indictment on wire fraud and money laundering. Posey described Boyle as "intentionally evasive," in his questioning of her at a Congressional hearing. "I asked her a very direct question. 'Have you done a study comparing autism rates in vaccinated vs. unvaccinated children?...' She started telling us about everything she's done …After she wasted three minutes, I cut her off and I demanded that she answer the question. And then, only then, did she admit that the federal government has never done that very simple, fundamental, basic study."
About Boyle's denial of a true increase in autism, Posey said, "I know we have an autism epidemic. You know it. She knows it. She knows we know it. But for some reason they refuse to acknowledge it publicly." Regarding Boyle's assertion that the increase is due to better diagnosing, Posey said, "I don't think anybody that's intellectually honest with this issue can begin to fathom that lame excuse that she uses." He also described an orchestrated campaign on behalf of the CDC and vaccine industry: "people who do all the blogging and shredding anyone who dares question the unaccountable bureaucrats." He spoke of "their little media network [that will] twist the truth to disparage, to malign, to vilify, to denigrate anybody who wants any kind of accountability....
Posey then discussed his co-sponsorship with Rep. Carolyn Maloney of the Vaccine Safety Study Act. He said the proposed legislation would compel the government to conduct a retrospective vaccinated vs. unvaccinated study of health outcomes. He felt it could be done with "accountability and direct oversight of the government"
In his closing remarks, Posey said, "The CDC can't be trusted regarding investigating vaccine safety. Huge conflict of interest. I think the CDC should be investigated."
Barry Segal, founder of Focus Autism, which sponsors Dr. Hooker's investigative research, called the interview "a game changer."
Representative Bill Posey is serving his third term in Florida's 8th Congressional District. He serves on the Committee for Science, Space and Technology. He was instrumental in the release of CDC documents regarding a link between vaccines and autism. These papers are now being analyzed by several researchers, including Dr. Brian Hooker.

The adverse event reporting "mandate" is merely an ethical standard. There is no enforcement of said mandate. The CDC and FDA both admit that doctors are not held accountable, they are merely educated as to the importance of reporting events. Remember too that these "events" are a limited number of pre-defined adverse reactions.
I am in the construction industry and we can blame a great deal of corruption, fraud, and waste on these same kinds of problems. Greed. Fear based marketing. Discretionary rules. And above all, mandates and laws that lack enforcement.
There needs to be an enforcement and penalty program in place to be sure adverse events are reported. Plus we should expand on the list of events to be monitored which was set up what 28 years ago?

Why have you not disclosed that you are one of the Democrats running against Rep. Posey for Congress. Instead, you have chosen the very cowardly role of "troll" who has made some ad hominem attacks against Rep. Posey that are extremely general and have no real substance.
Rep. Posey is a great friend to the autism community and has been instrumental in uncovering many documents that the CDC has tried to "bury" under the current administration, which was supposedly going to be the most transparent in history. I suggest if you are serious in your run for Congress, that you choose a more appropriate venue to discuss issues in a collegial manner. We have enough of a problem with trolls on this site without your interference.

As people have been pointing out to you unfortunately, from a scientific point of view, pronouncing "the science is done", or even finding a website with nice graphics that says "the science is done"
is not the same thing as ACTUALLY looking at the studies.
As Benedetta pointed out, a study done for three weeks is certainly going to produce results that find that anything except an acute poison is safe.
I'm pretty sure low level daily doses of arsenic should pass a three week safety test.. Now we know, for sure having proved scientifically with our three week study that arsenic doesn't cause any side effects. Who knew! (Arsenic manufacturers are now rubbing their hands gleefully. "See, we told you it was safe. Let's add it to the paint on kids toys now!")
Autism gets diagnosed at around two at the very earliest, more commonly at five or eight. If your study does not last that long, you can never rule out autism as a side effect.
Can't do it.
(And if your study is supposed to represent the regular population, you study thousands, but your study does not contain autism at the current population rate, then you automatically know that the study was flawed.)
For example, one ridiculous study for example that "proved" vaccines were safe, studied 100 kids until the age of two and found no autism in any of them.
If you know anything at all about study design you have to be able to see why that is invalid. It is a study that appears to have been specifically designed to be unable to capture autism.
So please, read some actual studies, not just websites from people who tell you they are "sure" the studies were done.
And you might want to address John Stone's question about saline placebos.
If you actually look into it, you might end up quite worried about what you find...

A sister agency to CDC, ATSDR, Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry, was severely criticized by a 2009 congressional report. Doesn't it seem likely that ATSDR picked up bad habits from her big sister?
"The agency’s mission 'is to serve the public by using the best science, taking responsive public health actions, and providing trusted health information to prevent harmful exposures and disease related to toxic substances....' In reality, across the nation local community groups believe that ATSDR has failed to protect them from toxic exposures and independent scientists are often aghast at the lack of scientific rigor in its health consultations and assessments. The studies lack the ability to properly attribute illness to toxic exposures and the methodologies used by the agency to identify suspected environmental exposures to hazardous chemicals are doomed from the start.

Four years later Lester [Stephen Lester, Science Director of the Center for Health, Environment and Justice] wrote: 'Today we continue to see many of the same investigation strategies that ATSDR and CDC has been using for years—investigating health problems with scientific methods that are highly questionable and inappropriate. There has never been any testing of the vaccine schedule versus a full placebo i.e. a comparison of those who receive all of it to those who receive none of it, and this despite a remarkable correlation between the increase in numbers of shots given to children over the last twenty five years and the rising rates of disorders of the immune system such as allergies, asthma, autoimmune disorders etc.
To a science buff, that is a rather obvious failure.

You are probably talking to a group of people that knows more about the details of vaccine testing and safty than the link you sent us.
What is period of time for each of these phases?
They are all differnt and some are as short as three weeks.
Considering it takes 8 to 12 weeks or even longer to causes serum sickness -- hmmmmmmm.
Each vaccine is studied separate, in these phases.
My understanding - is there is no combination of vaccines have been studied (please find those - I am very interested)
Funny that you should bring up VAERS.
Strictly volunteer -- how correct and systematic is that?

This VAERS - few if any doctors reports vaccine reactions. It is left to the untrained eyes of the parents that do not know of it's existence - and ---must take a mental leap that they now have a very sick child and have no support from the medical community even to report their child's injury.
Little o'le them is suppose to report it.
Is that MY JOB TO REPORT AN VACCINE INJURY?
I thought that was the medical people's jobs -- as they turn in their reports to the CDC. Nope guess not.

Politics Buff: The term "may" be a saline solution cries out wriggle room, and to even admit the placebo may be another vaccine (or another SUBSTANCE) is blatantly absurd and just shows how completely unscientific and arrogant these people are - to to then cavalierly think they could get any kind of honest results.
Try studying the literature, as Dr Gary Null did for years, when he testified before the Health Committee of the NY State Assy in November, 2009, on the NY Governor mandating flu shots to all nurses or be fired if they refused. Null stated of the hundreds of published vaccine tests, none (zero) employed a true saline placebo. By the way, the Governor backed down.

"Successful Phase II candidate vaccines move on to larger trials, involving thousands to tens of thousands of people. These Phase III tests are randomized and double blind and involve the experimental vaccine being tested against a placebo (the placebo may be a saline solution, a vaccine for another disease, or some other substance)."

You statement "vaccines are tested for safety" is as ignorant as it gets. When trial vaccines are tested for so-called safety the "tests" compare the entire vaccine composition (adjuvants, antibiotics, preservatives, processing chemicals and oils, and the pathogen antigens) to the exact same toxic mixture but only leaving out the antigens!
Thus, the tests are completely rigged: Comparing a poisonous mixture to the exact same poisonous mixture but only absent a few molecular "antigens."
Your ignorance unfortunately is the same as thousands of pediatricians and doctors who mindlessly inject scores of doses of these toxic mixtures into helpless babies.

Gabe, congressman Posey is getting the conversation started among Congressional leaders. A conversation that should have been started 20 years ago. For that I give him a lot of credit. It means he is listening, seeing through all the propaganda and is questioning the status quo which is a lot more than other "leaders" have done. Because its easier for them to stick their heads in the sand. Maybe this will be the impetus for them to pull their heads out because no one, not even you, can deny something is terribly wrong when 1 in 68 American children has autism. Personally I want investigation into known cases of serious cases of adverse reaction to vaccine that resulted in lifelong disability. How many of our kids suffered a mitochondrial dysfunction resulting in brain damage like Hanah Poling did after receiving multiple vaccines? . I am relying on investment in future scientific studies on this since to date the science has conveniently avoided the elephant in the room - science can speak the truth but study design, selection of cohorts and data can also be manipulated to yield a desired outcome. It's time our leaders realized that and started questioning like Posey.

Bill Posey is a habitual denier of the empirical process. Yes, we need to increase accountability throughout the government. Yes we need to better understand Autism, it's causes and treatments. No, Bill Posey is not capable of leading on this matter. "The great thing about science is that it is true whether or not you believe it." A quote from a man that Posey asks us to follow, but he himself does not. Bill Posey is a poor legislator, he is a regressive hypocrite and would not vote to fund the research he himself calls for in his own bill.

Daily Beast has another hit piece on Jenny McCarthy. The media saturation of every disease outbreak has drawn attention to the problem and the problem people are beginning to see is "me thinks they protest too much". I think they have overplayed their hand because parents are doing more research than before on vaccines and once this interview of Congressman Posey gets more traction parents will definitely start demanding answers, not simply asking questions.

Thank you, Congressman Posey, for courageously voicing what becomes apparent I think to anyone who actually cares to know the truth with the interest of protecting the health of all our children enough to investigate vaccine safety problems at the risk of other interests. It's hard to convince many that personal investigation on that level is necessary with all the organized obstruction we are subjected to, but your efforts must help some make safer choices for their families and are much appreciated!

CDC sold its soul to Big Pharma a long time ago. They should look closely at ACIP membership, COI's and the revolving door between Pharma and the CDC officials. CDC relationship with Poul Thorsen is a huge issue. Lack of research followup on the Hannah Poling case to see if there are other kids out there like Hannah. Not producing adequate safety studies that show the CDC immunization schedule is safe (this is their Achilles heel) Its time Coleen Boyle and others at the CDC are held accountable. I hope Posey is successful in getting an investigation started.

It would be JUST like Pres. Megan Kelly of the supposed "we report, you decide" .. proudly self-proclaimed "fair and balanced" news network .. had a particularly offensive segment regarding Jenny McCarthy .. wherein Megan and her guest devoted five full minutes .. one side only .. utilizing carefully selected .. "cut and pasted" images .. designed to characterize Jenny as "anti-vaccine" .. rather than .. "pro-SAFE vaccines".
How stupid do they think their viewers are?
They show old footage of Jenny and Jim Carey walking alongside demonstrators in Washington DC .. everyone proudly wearing "GREEN OUR VACCINES" tee-shirts! If Jenny were the "anti-vaccine" zealot they pretend she is .. those demonstrators .. of which I was one .. would have been wearing "END VACCINES" .. or .. "STOP VACCINES NOW" shirts.

Of course it is a rhetorical question. What is it about the vaccine program that makes it sacrosanct, immune from human fallibility? I think Congressman Posey - amongst all our politicians - has discovered the awful truth that 'power corrupts and absolute power corrupts completely' and we live in a virtual vaccine dictatorship. It was bound to go wrong once the ground rules were set, and it has gone wrong hideously.
We should also not forget that Coleen Boyle prior to her involvement in these issues helped the CDC to cover up the Agent Orange scam.

Offit told them that they shouldn't give coverage to those worried about vaccine side effects.

His story was up on Google News on April 7 with the title, "Chili's Burns Anti-Vaxxers: That's What Happens When You Kill and Maim Kids, but within a couple of hours, it was replaced with "Chili's Burns Anti-Vaxxers - and Probably Saves Some Kids' Lives." (It seemed that TIME decided their senior science editor's yellow sheet journalism was just a little too strong.)
There are countless stories out right now slamming McCarthy because of her "anti-vaccine," position: She wants toxins removed from vaccines and the aggressive schedule modified. That is not allowed. No one can imply that something may be wrong with the mandated vaccination schedule. It could erode public confidence in the vaccine program. Parents won't vaccinate and children will die. Offiicials and other vaccine promotors have to continue to deny any link between vaccines and the epidemic of autism and chronically ill kids in the U.S.
So what will they do about an elected official who's rocking the boat, asking questions and demanding someone be held accountable?
Jeffrey Kluger probably won't accuse Posey of killing and maiming children and Offit won't say he should be sent to jail for talking like this. No, they'll just ignore him. Posey won't be covered in TIME or Forbes. This Age of Autism story may appear on Google News, but like Hannah Poling before him, the issues Posey raises will die a quick death in the media.
