"There have been many studies looking for a link between autism and vaccines - including one published just last year - that show no link whatsoever. This year, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention completed an analysis of the number of vaccines given and found no link to autism rates. The jury is in - there's no link between vaccines and autism."
I couldn't post comments with links here, so I just stuck with the facts. DO A VACCINATED/UNVACCINATED STUDY IF YOU REALLY WANT TO END THE CONTROVERSY!
WILX-Lansing MI
"Further compounding the issue, some anti-vaccine organizations claim the shots cause things like autism.
"'There is some media out there that is not accurate and the public does respond to that,' said Bob Swanson of the Michigan Department of Community Health. 'we also have a lot of vaccines that are administered in a short number of time.'
"While state law requires kids get vaccinated, there are three waivers. Kids can get a medical or religious exemption, but a growing number of people file a waiver for 'other objections.'
"'We've seen a dramatic increase in those other objections, people that are signing waivers for sometimes legitimate reasons, personal beliefs and other times laziness,' said Swanson.
"Doctors are urging parents to add shots to their back-to-school lists. It's easy to get behind, but their are physicians warn of serious consequences."
I put up two comments...one asking for a vaccinated/unvaccinated study. If health officials like Bob Swanson really cared about ending the controversy, they should be the loudest voices out there calling for this study. Strangely they're not.
Forbes
"In an outrageous display of chutzpah, a group of flu researchers led by Ron Fouchier of Erasmus Medical Center in the Netherlands announced today, in a letter to the journal Nature, that they were planning to engineer the new H7N9 avian flu strain to give it new, possibly much more deadly capabilities. Fouchier is the same scientist who, two years ago, adapted the highly pathogenic H5N1 flu strain so that it could be passed from human to human, which it cannot do in its natural form. The resulting outcry delayed publication of his paper, but it eventually did appear.
"Now they want to do the same thing, and much more, with the new H7N9 influenza virus, which has killed 43 people in China to date, and which epidemiologists are tracking with great concern."
Steven Salzberg, a long time critic of anyone daring to link vaccines to autism, wrote this piece. Scientists in Holland plan to create a deadly new flu strain and Salzberg is upset about it.
I'm actually surprised that he cares since he's a big backer of the unchecked, unsafe vaccine schedule. He's known for being very critical of us, namely Mark Blaxill.
I guess while Salzberg worries about scientists playing with deadly flu strains---vaccines still don't cause autism.

"And as they look to the future with Jack there is a certain realization. Mike Schroeder says 'We thought right away..can we handle this? And I guess you're not sure how strong you can be until you have no other choice but to be strong.'"
Here is yet another example of the declining health of our children. I know so many families where the ASD kids also have asthma, allergies, bowel problems, you name it. Multiple diagnoses are the future.
If we took all the kids with with chronic health problems and added in the kids with autism we'd see how bad things really are.
Forbes
"Chiropractors, practitioners who tend to get the side-eye from science-based medicine types, have frequently been associated with practices at the fringes of medicine-or, indeed, nowhere near the territory of medicine at all. Among these associations is a link between chiropracty and a stance against vaccines. Evidently, the nation of Australia and its chiropracty oversight board has had enough of the latter."
'It also announced all registered chiropractors would be required to remove anti-vaccination claims from their websites.'
This is a clear call for censorship. Amazing when a member of the press champions this action. I posted comments.

The jury is in - there's no link between vaccines and autism."
Yes and "vaccines are safe and effective" is also a mantra we have heard as many times as the propaganda bill was paid.
However one would have to be a complete fool to ignore this evidence.
The Autism epidemic is found in all countries that have allowed mass vaccinations. It is found nowhere else.

Tony,
I always want to know why stories in the news about "an autistic adult" are almost always about someone in their 20s.
How can we never see...
60 year old autistic man ....
Elderly autistic man found dead...

On a comical/pathetic note, there are other blogs/articles actually discussing HPV vaccine and possible distrust of it because it 'would encourage sex.' What a convenient 'strawman' to deflect the real concerns of safety and efficacy! That really pisses me off- as someone who has had sever dyspasia from HPV, I would be the first to be happy about it if I thought it was a) safe or b) effective. It will take more time to know on either count (oh and real studies).

So right, Tony, it reminds me of the simple but true observation Anne made about it being odd that Health Directors, of all people, not leading the call for a vaccinated vs unvaccinated study. Common sense tells you that they should want to do this and that it would settle the matter once and for all, yet they don't (even if the study could not be fully randomized, it could still be informative).

I have been asking for a vaccinated vs unvaccinated study since 1996. Now the interesting thing about this so far fruitless request is that no one comes forward to say 'of course there are unvaccinated autistic people', without this being followed by one name - just one name - and sometimes with no useful lead to that named person. One name! There should be hundreds or thousands of such unvaccinated autistic people if vaccination is neutral to autism. But those who attempt to frustrate the truth coming out also fail to see the evidence implicit in their own work. Years ago I wrote to over 250 research groups and medics etc., who had researched and published or who were researching or practising in fields where autism would be an important area of their work. Only one response was ever received. The commonality of response was stunning. The one doctor who responded saying he had unvaccinated autistic kids in his practice somehow contrived to lose his papers when I visited him in Harley Street, London. He seemingly never found them because I had no response when I called him two or three times afterwards. When we see that the big companies behind this wall of indifference have also paid out $billions in fines for abuse of markets why would we think they are decent and honest when it comes to their products?

Anne,
Thank you again and again for all of the work you do and your excellent comments on these misleading and erroneous articles...
