"Texas Church Tied to Measles Outbreak Preaching Vaccinations
"Eagle Mountain International Church, the Texas mega-church at the epicenter of a measles outbreak, is preaching immunizations for its congregants despite previous statements by its founder that vaccines may cause autism."
Amazing. Among the top world news stories is one about a small church in Texas that now tells parishioners to get vaccinated. After decades of parents adamant that their children were healthy until being vaccinated into autism and endless doctors and officials denying there's a link, maybe clergymen can convince parents they're wrong.
(I don't think it will work. There are just too many vaccine-injured kids out there and too many parents who'll never stop talking.)
Issaquah (WA) Press: Understanding autism from an objective point of view
"Bellevue College student Kevin May was given the opportunity to wear different hats during the annual of Autism Day WA celebration at the Jubilee Farm in Carnation last weekend. Literally.
"Diagnosed as being on the autism spectrum as a teenager, the Issaquah resident understands the need to identify the outward signs of the disorder at a young age. Given the opportunity to interview and explore the aspects of autism as a reporter assigned to cover the annual Autism Day WA event, he was able to explore the controversy that surrounds the medical diagnosis."
As I read this, I thought about what the public is being told about autism.
Kevin May is autistic and he goes to Bellevue College. There's no mention of the stunning rate of one in 50. There's no description of how terribly ill so many children are. We're told we need early diagnosing and that it's a condition that has no cure and that individuals with autism "need to be recognized and appreciated." We can certainly rest easy after reading this. Autism isn't a crisis. ASD kids just need to get a diagnosis and services. If we can't cure autism, then that's just the way it is. Life goes on. If it's your kid, just accept it. It's not "something that can be eliminated like a disease," why talk about the cause?
AUTISM....JUST ANOTHER PART OF BEING A KID!
More on the study from UNC:
"They say that many forms of autism could be caused by mutations in the topoisomerase genes or exposure to chemicals that block their action at critical stages of brain development. Identifying those chemicals - the next step for researchers - would allow pregnant women to avoid exposure to those compounds."

Finally--dare we hope?!

New study out today:

If chemo compounds can stop these enzymes in their tracks, what might mercury do???
