Dachel Media Update: Big Babies and More Brains

Online newsBy Anne Dachel

May 1, 2013, UK Daily Mail: Babies born weighing more than 9lb 14oz or under 5lb 5oz have a higher of developing autism

May 1, 2013, Boston Globe: New autism brain bank to help replace samples lost in McLean Hospital freezer malfunction

UK Daily Mail

"Bigger babies are at greater risk of having autism, say researchers.

"There is a 60 per cent increased threat of the condition in infants who were 10lb or more at birth.
"A similar increase in risk for babies with low birth-weight because their growth in the womb was poor was also recorded."

Give us a break.  After two decades of exploding autism rates, experts still waste millions on dead-end studies linking autism to everything imaginable.  It's inevitable that findings will blame the parents.  Endless studies link autism to bad genes, older moms, older dads, older grandparents, moms who drink, smoke, and get fat. The list goes on to include moms who take anti depressants during pregnancy, live too close to freeways, have siblings too close together, and don't get enough folic acid.
None of these explain why one in 50 U.S. children has autism.  (New rate came out on March 20, 2013.)  Officials guess at autism but the one thing they are sure of is that our ever expanding vaccine schedule isn't to blame and they have lots of studies to prove it---all of which have ties to the vaccine makers.

"Autism advocates and scientists are collaborating to form a national network for collecting brain samples of recently ¬deceased people with the condition, relatives, others, and several participants are set to ¬announce Thursday.

"The network, to be called Autism BrainNet, will help ¬researchers recover from the loss of dozens of brain samples when a freezer malfunctioned last year at a McLean Hospital brain bank in Belmont.
"Samples collected by the network, which will solicit, process, and store brain samples donated by families, will allow scientists to compare the brains of people with and without ¬autism in hopes of better under¬standing a condition that affects up to 1 in 50 school-age children, according to government estimates.

"Last summer, a freezer ¬defrosted at the Harvard Medical School-affiliated McLean, destroying 54 autism brain samples, nearly one-third of the world's largest collection. The remaining samples from that collection, run by the research and advocacy group Autism Speaks, will become part of the new network."

How about a study looking at kids who met every developmental milestone and suddenly lost learned skills, ending up with an autism diagnosis? Let's look at what happened to them right before they regressed to find COMMON FACTORS THAT THEY ALL SHARE. Were they recently vaccinated? This kind of study would be really easy because these kids are EVERYWHERE. Their medical records are available. No one has to die before we can study them. And it's probably a whole lot cheaper than building freezers. Maybe AS and the other BrainNet founders could put some of the millions they're spending on studying frozen brains into studying actual children with autism.

We're also told, "The Autism BrainNet, being announced at an autism conference in Spain, will be run at the MIND Institute at the University of California Davis and be led by its director, David Amaral."

David Amaral, lest we forget, was the expert interviewed by Robert MacNeil on PBS in 2011 who said that, yes, vaccines can cause autism.

MacNeil asked, "What is your position today on vaccines and autism?"

In response to this, Amaral gave the broad disclaimer, "I think it's pretty clear that, in general, vaccines are not the culprit."

And the reason was the standard, studies show no link.

Then he added this blockbuster, "It's not to say, however, that there is a small subset of children who may be particularly vulnerable to vaccines."

He went on to say, "And in their case, having the vaccines, or particular vaccines, particularly in certain kinds of situations -- if the child was ill, if the child ...had a precondition. Like a mitochondrial defect. Vaccinations for those children actually may be the environmental factor that tipped them over the edge of autism. And I think it is incredibly important, still, to try and figure out what, if any, vulnerabilities, in a small subset of children, might make them at risk for having certain vaccinations."

MacNeil asked if more studies of these possibly susceptible kids should be done.

Amaral answered, "Yeah. So I think, personally, it's a reasonable thing to do. Because I think that autism is ultimately going to have many, many causes. There are going be many, many subsets of children that are going to have different etiologies. Some of which are going be more environmental, some of which are going be more genetic. And I frankly don't think that there's going to be a large group of children that -- their autism is caused by their standard immunizations. But you know, it could be a small subset."

This study on big babies and little babies and their increased risk of autism is logically correct.

Normal children will have the increasing risk for autism but those not within the normal parameters can be expected to have higher risks for almost any disorder.

Year by year the numbers of autism cases rises with no sign yet of a slow down.

The start is effectively in the year 1991 - 1992 implying some event at or just before this time is the precipitating factor.

Before this time we had the very low levels showing other risk factors also explain autism or a sudden increase in the factor causing the previous low numbers.

The start of giving vaccines at day one with often the parent not being aware is a major worry to any sane person.

So much of a major worry that the perpetrator of this madness himself disowned the practice and the results for a period of about two weeks until he pulled himself together and claimed it was OK with a little help from his vaccine masters.

A good estimate is that vaccines given at ridiculously early ages is not ridiculous but actually causing long term health issues on an increasing scale.

This would imply that ridiculous vaccines at 8 weeks might have caused the previous low numbers of autism.

The mother was reckoned to provide natural immunity for many months and mans attempts to interfere with nature at such an early age can be seen in hindsight as UNWISE.

Neurological insult is not restricted howev er to just vaccines and so any epidemiology is doomed to failure.

But the study does imply the genetic theroy is WRONG as the two studies size of baby and / or genes cannot both be correct. Size is likely the result of the amount and type of nouriture etc more than genes but as said above the environment (neurological insult) will take its toll more on babies either too big or too little.

Yes, Mr. Amaral, There could be a small subset- something like the approximately 10% of people who do not move or excrete mercury easily.

Why cant these researchers ever speculate beyond their simple studies- or maybe they do and no one wants to report that. Big babies? As I recall, when I worked in a hospital, the big babies were usually born to mothers who were themselves pretty huge. Could there be some extra mercury stored up in those plentiful fat cells? Or were those mothers large because of low thyroid function - another sign of possibly mercury toxicity.
Hey, just for fun, all you researchers- Why dont you see if there is a link between mothers who have a lot of mercury in their dental amalgams and babies with autism. Oh, I forgot, no one wants to fund studies like that one, that actually point directly to the truth.

I always thought that big babies were linked to blood sugar and diabeties.

So now big babies might develop autism.

The plot thickens!

By the way my kids were not small or big but just right.

But then they had regressive health problems from the vaccines and not at birth.
