I don't know what to believe about the "benefits" of vaccination. I personally suspect the costs have always rivaled, sometimes outpaced perceived benefits and have never really been counted, but most seem to prefer the "mysterious" chronic illnesses of the developed world with the confidence that we have mastered the contagious and its unpredictable potential through the "one-time" act of injection.

But with mercury, it seems clear to me that disease prevention is covering for a form of health enslavement; that mercury is big pharma's most effective gateway drug, even if few involved allow themselves to see it.

I also think it is pretty safe to say that if the concern on the part of those claiming humanitarian motive was improving global health, their funds would first go towards clean water access, sanitation, and nutrition (though I'm reluctant to trust them to define such).

When the cause for Minemata Disease was discovered in the '60, the symptoms had already been apparent for about 25 years. The Chisso plant had been making acetaldhyde using mercury that was released into Minamata Bay. Methyl mercury accumulated in the fish that was eaten by the townspeople. The disease was called "the elegant disease," and it was also called "the dancing cat disease" because it also occurred in cats that went crazy. Also there was the mystery of birds falling from the sky for no particular reason. Dogs and pigs were also affected. The events have been described in many places. But the really shocking part is that it took over 30 years to recognize the illness for what it was: Mercury poisoning.

Wikipedia says: "As of March 2001, 2,265 victims had been officially recognised (1,784 of whom had died)[2] and over 10,000 had received financial compensation from Chisso.[3] By 2004, Chisso Corporation had paid $86 million in compensation, and in the same year was ordered to clean up its contamination.[4] On March 29, 2010, a settlement was reached to compensate as-yet uncertified victims.[5]"

The treaty is called the Minamata Treaty. I wonder if the people in Japan would agree that enough is being done.

Now comes the exception stating that mercury remains in vaccines. Outrageous!

Making their decision even more egregious is the clear distinction they made between "products with no mercury-free alternative" .. and recommending the continuing use of .. "vaccines containing thimerosal" in third world countries.

Consider .. vaccines used in the United States are a product that is recommended be made with "mercury free alternatives" to protect children in the US from being exposed unnecessarily to thimerosal. However, vaccines containing thimerosal .. not because they are SAFE .. but .. because they are CHEAPER to export and deliver in third world countries will continue to be used.

Which calls into the question the trustworthiness of Achim Steiner, United Nations undersecretary-general and executive director of the United Nations Environment Program, who said:

"Everyone in the world stands to benefit from the decisions taken this week in Geneva — in particular, the workers and families of small-scale gold miners, the peoples of the Arctic, and this generation of mothers and babies and the generations to come"

After all, the ONLY people who will benefit from having thimerosal laden vaccines shipped to third world countries are the manufacturers themselves. To even suggest the "generation of mothers and babies" receiving thimerosal laced vaccines will BENEFIT from them is moral bankrupcy taken to a new .. dangerous .. level.
