United Methodist Women and CoMed Issue Appeal
This week the United Methodist Women and the Coalition for Mercury-free Drugs (CoMed) issued an open letter calling for the immediate end to the use of mercury in vaccines and drugs. Negotiations are underway at the at the United Nations to implement a worldwide ban on the use of mercury in vaccines through the Intergovermental Negotiation Committee of the United Nations Environmental Programme. These organizations hope to impact the formulation of a global, legally binding treaty on mercury scheduled to be completed in 2013.
Please help support this effort by clicking on the link below to send emails to President Barrack Obama, Secretary of State Hilary Clinton and Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Lisa Jackson asking them to support a worldwide ban on the use of mercury in vaccines.

Autism Action Network was formed back in 2005 as A-CHAMP, initially to work on the issue of getting mercury out of vaccines, and we are still working towards that un-achieved goal. Many countries, but not the US, went mercury-free decades ago. Some countries, like the former Soviet Union, took a look at using mercury in vaccines (because the West was doing it) and decided it was far too toxic. Way back in 1998 under the Clinton administration, the United States Public Health Service and the American Academy of Pediatrics issued a joint statement calling for the removal of mercury from vaccines “as soon as possible.” Fourteen years later American babies and pregnant women are still regularly injected with one of the most toxic substances known, yet there are mercury-free alternatives readily available.
It is far past the time when the US should have join the other countries of the world that put safety first and ban the use of mercury in vaccines and drugs. Please support this effort.
