CNN & Media Jump to Defense of Merck Gardasil After Bachman Interview

Bachman with kids By Leslie Carol Botha

PRLog (Press Release) - Sep 14, 2011 - When the Monday night CNN / Tea Party Express Republican candidates’ presidential debate turned to the constitutionality of healthcare mandates, Representative Bachmann voiced her opinion as the mother of three daughters and the foster mother for 23 other foster girls when she stated:  ‘To have innocent little 12-year old girls be forced to have a government injection through an executive order is just flat out wrong. That's a violation of a liberty interest.’

On Tuesday morning, Bachmann was interviewed on CNN’s American Morning and shared that a mother approached her after the debate and spoke about the very serious consequences her daughter experienced after getting Gardasil.

Bachmann is speaking for millions of parents who believe that mandating a government injection is wrong.  She also spoke about the pressure placed on families by doctors and educators even if there is an ‘opt-out’ clause.  According to Bachmann ‘Little girls who have a negative reaction to this potentially dangerous drug don't get a mulligan. They don't get a do-over. The parents don't get a do-over.’ 1

Bachmann also blasted Texas Governor Rock Perry with the question that the parent of every adversely injured child is asking ‘is this [vaccine] about life or millions of dollars?’

Everyone by now knows that Perry retorted that Merck’s political action committee gave his campaign $5,000.

In what year was that Governor Perry? It appears the Merck has donated over $25,000 over the course of Perry’s career: $1,000 in 2000; $5,000 in 2002; $10,000 in 2004; $1,000 in 2005; $5,000 in 2006; $2,500 in 2008 and $5,000 in 2010.1

The figure is actually very low for a state as large as Texas….could it be that donations are being funneled from elsewhere - say from a relatively new biotechnological company in Texas? The comment below was posted to an article written by Ed Silverman of Pharmalot fame titled: "Rick Perry And The Gardasil Controversy, Take Two"

‘Interesting to note that a company in Texas with which Rick Perry has a connection with is Gradalis Inc. Move the letters around and it spells Gardasil. In May 2010, Perry’s office gave $3 million to fund G-Con, another Texas Pharma, owned 10% by Gradalis, Inc. The executives of G-Con and the CEO of Gradalis have all given substantial thousands to Perry’s campaign. It was rumored back in 2007 that Perry made a lot of people wealthy, including his family, by mandating the Gardasil vaccine in the State of Texas. If there is government involvement, there is no free market.’2

Gradalis Inc. is a fully integrated biotechnological company in Dallas Texas that focuses on the development, manufacturing and commercialization of drugs, vaccines, tools and diagnostics, primarily in the area of cancer.3 Gradalis? Gardasil? Hmm...

Damage Control at CNN

Meanwhile, back at CNN Elizabeth Cohen did multiple interviews with the station’s news anchors on the HPV vaccine – it was obvious her job for the day was to emphatically state in every way she could that the HPV vaccines are safe – and any adverse injuries reported from Gardasil including paralysis are ‘coincidental.’ Might one ask how much Merck spends on advertising on CNN –or, the other major media networks, for that matter?4

National media outlets are now quick to jump on the bandwagon as doctors and public health leaders speak out to correct misinformation regarding the safety of HPV vaccines that prevent cervical cancer after Bachmann attacked the vaccines as "dangerous" when she related her conversation with the mother of an adversely injured girl mother who blames the shots for her daughter's mental retardation.

But, there's no evidence that the HPV shot — or any other vaccine — causes retardation, says O. Marion Burton, president of the American Academy of Pediatrics.5

Mental retardation is the wrong term – the correct term is ‘brain damage’ from the neurotoxins in the vaccine crossing the blood-brain barrier affecting the endocrine and autoimmune systems.

Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing

Merck & Co’s marketing department timing couldn’t have been much worse with their BusinessWire press release Tuesday announcing a new partnership with the Susan G. Komen Foundation. ‘Merck Partners with Susan G. Komen for the Cure(R) on Historic Initiative to Help Address Cervical and Breast Cancer in Developing Nations,’ seemed to do little except cast further doubt on the integrity of the pharmaceutical giant.6

The big bad wolf is hiding once again in sheep’s clothing while portraying their humanitarian interest in partnering with the foundation to disseminate breast and cervical cancer information to women in Africa.  According to the release Merck will be contributing ‘$3 million over three years to the Pink Ribbon--Red Ribbon initiative to help address both cervical and breast cancer in sub-Saharan African nations by supporting disease education, screening and treatment efforts as well as increased access to cervical cancer vaccination.”

After one gets over the initial ‘Awww ain’t that nice…’ it becomes pretty clear that Merck is using the foundation to develop new markets for their vaccine in countries where no adequate vaccine injury tracking systems exist, not to mention cervical screening.

Women who supported the Komen Foundation are already speaking out on Facebook. One woman writes: ‘This absolutely disgusts me! My grandmother struggled with breast cancer for years. All contributions from her funeral were donated to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure foundation. How dare these money hungry drug lords attempt to conceal their cruel and merciless intentions by allying with such a wonderful foundation. Completely sickening.’

SANE Vax Inc. agrees with Bachmann when she stated in another interview with CNN after the debate that Perry’s admission that he could have done things differently didn't change the situation.

“It's not enough to say, 'I'm sorry. I was wrong.' You have to get it right the first time," Bachmann said.

It is time for medical consumers to be aware that Merck, the FDA, and CDC did not get the HPV vaccine right the first time.  The adverse injuries and deaths to innocent previously healthy adolescents took one time…..one decision to get the vaccine series….. and for them there is no turning back either.

We can only move forward now that Bachmann has opened the door and exposed the ‘wolves in sheep’s clothing.’ It is time for their reckoning.

It is shocking to realise that Merck and other Gardasil promoters actually know very little about this vaccine.
Here's a list of 27 questions which are unanswered. The list is not complete!

My daughter was gravely sick in the hospital multiple times to save her life after getting gardasil vaccines. It's been 3 years and she is still having problems walking. Yes she was partially paralyzed after getting gardasil poison. The doctors know this, VAERS/CDC, FDA, Merck, Federal Vaccine Court, pediatrician, immunologists, cardiologists, surgeons, orthopedic docs, family/neighbors, everyone knows-but are they doing anything to prevent other children from being subjected to illness or even death?! The vaccine is still being pushed onto parents and children. Merck's money is still bribing-those bastards!

oneVoice

Yes,brain damage is what is happening.Polysorbates open the blood brain barrier and the boric acid and the aluminum
adjuvant will cause the damage. The polysorbates together
with the boric acid would create a very powerful wide-spectrum detergent type of emulsifier that would be able to react with lipids in the brain and cause damage. Brain histology tests needs to be done on all the victims who passed away from this vaccine to find the answers.Lot of the girls experiencing dizziness and brain fog, seizures and
memory loss, poor retention, unable to study are also big issues.
Canada approved Gardasil for women between the ages of 27-45.What a horrific mistake. The Harper government and his lobbyist friends are widening the market in Canada.

Gardasil contains polysorbate 80/Tween 80. This renders the blood-brain barrier more porous (opens it up). It is used in drug targeting when the aim is for chemo and psychiatric substances to pass through the barrier and to gain contact with brain tissue.

In vaccines this is undesirable, yet when the matter is mentioned there is deadly silence from vaccine promoters.

Neurotoxic aluminium and other substances reach the brain tissue resulting in increased risk of brain damage. The relevant term is brain damage - not mental retardation.

Many girls exhibit symptoms of brain damage after Gardasil, but unfortunately autopsies which include thorough investigation of brain tissue are few and far between.

Rick Perry has connections with Gradalis Inc. As suggested in the press release: Move the letters around and it becomes Gardasil.

Considering the thousands of girls who suffer ill health after Gardasil but are not believed, we take the liberty of joining in the letter game to reveal the truth about Gardasil:

"A girl who gets G A R D A S I L gets all mixed up and becomes A - S A D - G I R L !"

Sounds more like Groucho than Churchill (although I hold both in high esteem).

The reality is that politicians are given money by various lobbies to pay attention to their interests - even small sums - and that is the only reason why they are given money, particularly when those interests are invariably giving money to both sides. But unfortunately as far as politicians are concerned no one is paying them not to listen to the lobbyists: this only happens if they suddenly realise they may not get elected. But in terms of their turnover politicians are a relatively minor cost: for the pharma buying the medical profession is where the real money goes.

politican's wife

even $25,000 is really not a lot to a campaign, I'm really more concerned that he was so heavily influenced by his chief of staff or other lobbyists in the first place.
About the media - are they supporting the vaccine because of their pharma advertisers, or because they want Perry to be the republican nominee so they can put him down when the time is right?

L Land

NPR has jumped on this too (of course) Talked about some guy offering $1000 for the kid's medical records. I'd want a lot more than $1000 to turn of my kids medical records to someone who is just going to twist them to what he believes. And good ole Authur and his $10000 offer, I wish he would get 10000 HPV shots if he thinks it is so safe....

Theresa O

“If you’re saying that I can be bought for $5,000, I’m offended,” Perry responded.

* * *
Reminds me a little of the old Winston Churchill anecdote:

Churchill: Madam, would you sleep with me for five million pounds?
Socialite: My goodness, Mr. Churchill… Well, I suppose… we would have to discuss terms, of course…
Churchill: Would you sleep with me for five pounds?
Socialite: Mr. Churchill, what kind of woman do you think I am?!
Churchill: Madam, we’ve already established that. Now we are haggling about the price.

Between"Gradalis" and Ginger Taylor's Merck link to what employees are saying, I haven't laughed this hard in a long time. Seriously hilarious stuff. Everytime I think about I can't stop. Thanks sMerck.

Theresa O

Rick Perry's receipts from Merck are actually far greater than $25,000.

According to Bloomberg Businessweek (http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-09-13/perry-s-merck-donations-greater-than-said.html), "[Merck] also has donated about $500,000 to the Republican Governors Association, a group which Perry chaired twice and has been among his most generous campaign donors."

"In addition, Mike Toomey, a former Texas state House member who served as Perry’s chief of staff, became a lobbyist for the firm after leaving the governor’s office. Toomey also is a founder of the pro-Perry Super PAC, Make Us Great Again, which is raising money to help get the Texas governor elected to the White House."

Half a million dollars? Geez, I definitely wouldn't do a favor for someone who gave me that much money...

Marc,

I have another idea: you keep vaccinating your children and we stop vaccinating ours (most of us are there already). Now, when one of your precious kids gets autism, or paralyzed, or suddenly becomes "mentally retarded", then you come back and talk to us... By the way, you will see that we are the only ones that actually want to help you with your child. All your buddies (doctors, vaccine manufacturers, insurers...) will suddenly not be your friends anymore and treat you like you had lepra...

stop fear-mongering, Marc

Marc,
In response to your ridiculous comment that the link between vaccines and autism has been "conclusively debunked"

Bachman did not say Gardisil caused the girl to get sick, the girl’s mother did. The attacks on Bachman for simply reiterating an anecdote is the "tell."

A not uncommon adverse reaction to vaccines, according to the Merck Manual, is encephalitis, or swelling of the brain. Pace University School of Environmental Law this year published a review of 500 individuals who have been compensated by the Health and Human Services under the Vaccine Injury Compensation Program (VICP), and found that most of them have some form of permanent, disabling brain damage, and about 1/3 of those compensated are autistic.

The HPV 4 (Gardisil) shot has currently listed over 24,000 adverse effects on the Vaccine Adverse Effect Reporting System (VAERS). NIH and CDC acknowledge that because VAERS is a passive data gathering system, the actual number of adverse effects are under reported by a factor of between 10 and 100. That means the actual number of adverse effects for Gardisil is between 240,000 and 2,400,000. One form of encephalitis caused by vaccines is acute disseminated encephalomyletis (ADEM). Seizures, mental retardation, and other forms of permanent brain damage are known to be after effects of ADEM.

Marc .. I think you would enjoy and relate to the movie "Thank you for Smoking" .. it has been out on dvd for a long time now .. but .. I am sure you can rent it at the few remaining Blockbusters wherever you live.

Not an MD

Oh, Marc. My kids are right now learning about the Scientific Method in school, which (I think) has something to do with science. (Right?)

Well, it all starts with observation, and asking questions about those observations. You can't see anything (I think) if your eyes are closed tightly. Perhaps I should do a little "experiment" based upon this "hypothesis" of mine? Well, it is true, then. The brain damage caused by vaccine reactions just magically disappears when one closes their eyes to it.

Problem is, it is hard to function all day with your eyes closed tightly. Especially, if you are a parent of one or more vaccine-injured children. Go on, keep your eyes closed. I'm sure you will.

Laura

Marc - I have a great idea too. Why don't you go first. You take your child born perfectly healthy and stand in front of the vaccine line. Then, let's assume they suffer a significant reaction to the vaccines they receive. You're not even sure which one since they gave your loved one five or more at one time. Let's say you watch your perfectly healthy child tragically slip away from you mentally, or with seizures or you watch your child suffer from a progressive, fatal disease - you watch your child slowly die - because you stood them in line for these "life-saving" vaccines.

Then, let's say you have another child. You're really going to stand by your ideal of saving the lives of other children - you'll sacrifice your own children's lives or futures for the *potential* of *possibly* preventing chicken pox or an STD in other kids you've never met? You go first. You're willing to lay your child's life down on that vaccine altar and then we'll talk about your ideals and morals and mine.

It's all too easy for people who haven't had the terrible misfortune to find out they or their children are in that "rare minority" of vaccine reactions to walk around with their health or that of their children's and wag their finger at parents weary from worry, sleepless nights, bankruptcy inducing medical bills, broken marriages from the stress of it all and the sadness of watching your child struggle in almost every moment medically or behaviorally.

The minute you watch a loved one suffer a very serious side effect from the oh-so-safe vaccines proven by studies paid for by pharmaceutical companies and you continue to insist you'd do it all over again and put more loved ones through that same risk and potential just in the hopes of saving the lives of other people - then you can wag that finger at me and we can have a real, honest discussion about my morals, ethics and parenting choices.

No one here wants a single child to suffer from any disease, much less die from one. But we also refuse to lay our child's lives down with the hope that your healthy child won't get the flu and have a few days of discomfort, a few sleepless nights and a tiny, teensy bit of the worry we experience 24 hours a day with much more intensity.

Jen

Marc, Gradalis? Are you kidding me? The jig is up. Go back to your lab. You can't stem the tide of injured children, so let that be your real worry.

Marc

You HAVE to be kidding me? An ad hominem attack based on the name of a company. Listen, just because you clearly don't understand science (and that the link between autism and vaccines has been conclusively debunked, complete with the originating scientist being kicked out of his professional organization for publishing that garbage) doesn't mean you should pray on people's fears. How about you go to Gradalis' website and see that they're developing their own vaccines for other disorders, that they're totally not in the HPV space (they focus on cancer vaccines), and that it has no obvious connection to Rick Perry other than they are also in Texas and he's the governor. That makes this company like thousands of others who contribute to political campaigns to ensure their voice is heard. This article is, literally, so full of junk that it's embarrassing that it's allowed to be published.

I have a great idea. Take all the vaccines away and let's let our kids die from totally preventable diseases. And make sure only ugly people advocate for healthcare. Ugh!!!

Andrea

Gradalis, Inc?

I feel sick.

Carol

One of these shows had a doctor with pigtails and a girlish voice telling us that Gardasil was "very safe."

They didn't send someone who looked like that by chance.
