It was because of your 1998 Lancet study that I finally had my son seen by a gastroenterologist after years of being told that his constant rocking over a chair was just a part of his "autism". With a copy of your study in hand, I forced his doctors to acknowledge that there could be something else going on, although I was told that it was highly unlikely. A few weeks later after some testing it was revealed that my son had h.pylori and GERD. A funny thing happened after that, he stopped rocking back and forth over the chair because his pain was gone. Every time I think of how long he suffered I just want to cry.
Every night after praying for my family and friends I say a special prayer for you, that you will find the strength to continue the fight to save our children. Dr. Wakefield says that it was the British government which felt threatened by the implication that MMR can cause autism. On the other hand he says that Deer has been paid by The Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry. Is it possible that Deer is working directly for the British government? (If any man could serve two masters, I bet he could.)

I say this because I'm reading about a reporter, Jacque Srouji, in _The Killing of Karen Silkwood_ by Richard Rashke. After a stint with the CIA, Srouji went to work as a reporter for a newspaper, but her real job was investigating anti-nuclear activity for the FBI. In this tale, wiretaps abound. CIA agents work in local police departments and conspiracies are a fact of life.

Forget about Silkwood falling asleep at the wheel. According to Rashke, a secret FBI summary report says that Silkwood's car was tailed from the Hub cafe, but lost when she turned down a road to a friend's father's farm (perhaps to pick up documents stashed there). The chase car eventually turned down that same road and met Silkwood coming back to the highway. Silkwood sped around the car which turned and followed her. When Silkwood hit her brakes at Highway 74, the chase car slid into her Honda. Then left and right until the Honda was driving on the grassy shoulder with the chase car parallel, boxing her in. Perhaps because she was looking over her shoulder for an opportunity to get back on the road, she didn't see the concrete culvert in front of her.

I fear this is the way the world really works.

Brian Deer has the biggest ego I think that I've ever witnessed. You'd think that he found the cure to cancer or something... Here's a few bits and pieces.

Steve, before you go calling people "kooks" you might want to get you facts straight. The autism rate did not sky rocket "after" thimerosal was removed from vaccines. We have not official CDC statistics that reflect the rate of autism after 2002.

Therefore, we have no idea what the rate of autism is in children born after it was "recommended" by Congress that thimerosal be removed from vaccines by 2002. By the way thimerosal still exists in many vaccines most importantly the Flu vaccine which it is recommended children receive yearly starting at 6 months. So one can not even claim that children no longer are exposed to thimerosal.

The only thing sadder than a delusional man is those that validate him; willingly taking on the delusion for themselves and harming those closest to them in the process.

Here is a letter I attempted to send to FOX News on 1-6-11 after they ran one of those horrible stories about Dr. Wakefield. Sadly, their mailbox was full and I forgot to retry, but this article reminded me that some of you, might like to see it.

The articles in the British Medical Journal and, the Wall Street Journal, as well as what you presented on your TV shows contain the fraud. They help to perpetuate the fraudulent attacks on Dr. Wakefield. Dr. Wakefield is an honest and brilliant physician who outlines and documents the truth about the study in question in the book “Callous Disregard”. Contrary to what is being said, the study specifically states that it did NOT prove a relationship between the MMR and autism, but suggested that the histories reported by the parents of the children contained enough information for more research to be done in this area.
Pharmaceutical companies have no liability for vaccines in the USA and have successfully lobbied for mandated vaccines in the USA and throughout the world, resulting in an incredible increase in mandated vaccines since the 1980’s and 1990’s. During this time, autism and many other childhood disorders have dramatically increased. Many scientific articles and some epidemiologic data suggest that vaccines, along with other environmental triggers, play a role the increase of these health problems. In fact, it may be that the current vaccine schedule is the major cause of the increase in these health challenges.

Why isn't Deer's info taken piece by piece apart by someone with a platform. Concentrate on one mistruth a week, and invite him to debunk the truth... He needs to be treated with curiosity and journalistic integrity in a dig for the truth behind his lies. Who will do this? It's not like it would be a hard thing to do...

What annoys me most is that someone stopped me the other day to announce to me that Dr. Wakefield admitted to a HOAX! CUT ME A BREAK! Why can't people read papers or articles instead of getting their opinions from the ticker line on some pseudo news channel.

I asked them if they actually read the article or read any of Dr. Wakefield's work, or had read any of the confirming studies of his research that had been published around the world. The obvious answer was NO on all counts!

I read Deer's report in the BMJ yesterday. Dr. Wakefield made some mistakes but not with his research. No one was harmed. He found something out that could possibly help autistic children. I'm sure Wakefield is not the first researcher to dream of winning a Noble prize for unlocking the mysteries of autism. A researcher keeps his job by finding research money and it comes from parties that are looking for answers. No child harmed! Why shouldn't Dr. Wakefield be able to put together investors to come up with a colostrom based nutritional product to help improve the immune system of children? So, what! Okay, the lawyer thing. My analogy is like the college football player being suspended for selling his college championship ring. You have an overzealous recruiting agent and an overzealous lawyer; both with no scrupples. We know Dr. Wakefield did not alter his findings to satisfy this lawyer. No child was hurt. In fact, many children, including mine, got better because of Dr. Wakefield's research. D. Wakefield never harmed a child. The media is harming children by not responsibly reporting all the facts.

It was easier to understand Deer's reporting if you just read what was in quotations. If it wasn't in quotations then it was Deer giving us his personally biased oppionion which some of us call lies.

As a dokter in preventive medicine 0-4 years old and a father with an autistic son which was vaccinated and a son which is NOT vaccinated and has NO autism...I have the statistic relevance of N=1. And a lot of tears,frustration and copingstress of having an autistic son in our family.

With 36 vaccinations and an incredible amount of power and money in the farmacy and so many confounders and so many good paid laywers.....isn't it time that we stand up in what the man in the CNN interview said: Where is the research in unvaccinated childs compared with vaccinated? Remember the Swine Flue hysteria: the huge amount of narcolepsia outbreak after it for a mediahoax that threatend the entire world....it was just a seasonal influenza where unfortenately also people died. It was after the WHO changed the games and playing fields: definition of pandemics. It was a big and huge distraction of the financial Lehmann collaps.
I ask the CEO's of big farmacompanies who can lent their money for nothing at the discountwindows of FED and ECB...I ask them to show their best practise(their are a lot of good and important medicins in the world,
and a lot of families live and thrive of the economic scale of farmacie) I ask them:
Show the world the little money for a breaking medical approach and close the gap:
Do your best practise on autism and vaccination versus unvaccinated children.
Do your best practise on how we think about the immunesystem(the model of it doesnt matter how much within one day you give your young child: read 7 shots!)versus the model of is the immmune system capable of carrying that load??

I support your battle against the pharmaceutical quackery that is damaging everyone from the very young to the very old. The biggest fraud is the belief that vaccinations prevent diseases...they don't.
