Happy Birthday! Oh, the adventures we've had with autism. You have such a way of putting those events into words and as we say around our house "if you're happy and you know it, flap your hands"! Hope you have a great day!

I have nothing but respect for Kim, and all the other parents who have had the strength, courage, and tenacity to raise Autistic children at home, and not having to "surrender" them to being wards of the State, whether that is living in a psychiatric institution, group home, supported living site, medicaid waiver program, etc.. It has been my sad experience working with those with severe autism that many families have little to no contact with their autistic children after they leave home. Seeing these children grow into adults with a transient workforce of caregivers as the only people in their lives makes my heart heavy sometimes.

I'm no Mother Theresa, I bet Mother Theresa would say the same thing, having children with behavior issues is not easy, and some times the facts are, we need to be more strict with these children in order to protect them in and for the future. Judges aren't going to care if they have a disability, will not allow the law to be broken regardless. We need not be mother Theresas but protective Lioness's

Happy, happy birthday, Kim. I have just started reading your book (and I am very lucky to have an autographed copy already, and to have met you personally).
It is so wonderful to find the time to read a book-- your book-- which is not a children's book-- this holiday break. Happy New Year, too, Kim! May all your wishes come true.

Happy Birthday, Kim!! Would love to have a copy of your book signed for a friend of mine. She is the mom of a 7 yr old girl with autism and she is reading my copy of your book now. Her daughter got hold of it and marked in it and mom is upset-I personally think it's quite appropriate to have your book marked up by a little girl with autism and am not at all upset but would love for mom to have her own copy. Her name is Debbie

Kim,
Happy Birthday! I hope you have a great day. You know what the best gift is - recovery, speech at the very least, for your girls. You said it perfectly in your book, "Speech first." What a great gift for a mom of a child and 2 adolescents who all have autism - the ability to use speech and language functionally and appropriately.
Unfortunately, I can't give that "speech gift" to you (still working on my mild speech problems). Keep up the great work for your 3 beautiful daughters who unfortunately have to struggle with autism. Keep up the great work for the Autism Spectrum Community! I'm proud of you. You do a great job!

Happy Birthday!!! I hope that you are staying warm and that your daughters had a good Christmas! My husband and I did not exchange gifts this year (we spent the money on our kids and family) so the book would be a special treat! I am an avid reader of anything autism and your book is at the top of my list! I think that I could certainly use a good laugh and some extra Mom power this holiday season.

Hope you have a great day! Being out of work and NO extra coins, I would love to win this book. Here is a song for you.
This is Space Command to Zoom
all systems are go for your message to Kim!
Hey, Kim! It's your birthday!
I'm in charge of the stars and I'm here to say,
Hey, Kim! You're the big star today!
My name is Zoom and I live on the moon
But I came down to earth Just to sing you this tune
‘cause Kim!, it's your birthday today!
A present for you I wanted to find, an outerspace creature, a one of a kind! A wild whop or a kukelchoo, an apple drop or a buzzardstew, or maybe a 3-eyed tickleshay for your birthday.
Did you ask: "uh, what's a kukelchoo?"
Well, up on the moon it's nothing new but that won't do for you. On your birthday! I searched behind the clouds and stars I even zoomed my bike to Mars And met my friend the saucer man and he said:
"Hey Zoom I got the bestest plan! What your friend needs is something new, so how about a song, just from YOU?"
And so tonight when you're in bed
I'll be singing to you as I zoom overhead
Singing, Kim! Happy Birthday
Singing Kim! Happy Birthday
Singing, Kim! Happy Birthday, to you!
Happy Birthday Kiml! See you next year!
