Jenny McCarthy on HuffPo: Who's Afraid of the Truth About Autism?

Jenny Time Please read the full post and comment over at Huffington Post HERE.  Jenny will welcome your support and you know the "machine" has gone into overdrive to beat her up - and our kids. Don't let them. Go comment at HuffPo. KS

Parents of recovered children, and I've met hundreds, all share the same experience of doubters and deniers telling us our child must have never even had autism or that the recovery was simply nature's course. We all know better, and frankly we're too busy helping other parents to really care.

Corner one of the hundreds of doctors who specialize in autism recovery, and they'll tell you stories of dozens of kids in their practice who no longer have autism. Ask them to speak to the press and they'll run for the door. They know better.

Most doctors in our community share a common trait: their own child regressed into autism. They fixed their kid first and knew they'd have to spend their lives helping parents do the same, accepting the loss of "mainstream" status in their field.

Who's afraid of autism recovery? Perhaps it's the diagnosticians and pediatricians who have made a career out of telling parents autism is a hopeless condition.

When I first went public with my son Evan's story, I just planned to talk about the "R" word -- Recovery. But soon I was spending most my time talking about the "V" word -- vaccines.

It's hard to address one without the other because so many of the parents of recovered children I know, myself included, blame vaccines for their child's regression into autism and use vaccine injury as the roadmap to treat their child.

The idea that vaccines are a primary cause of autism is not as crackpot as some might wish. Autism's 60-fold rise in 30 years matches a tripling of the US vaccine schedule.

With so many kids with autism, the environment has to be to blame, and vaccines are an obvious culprit. Almost all kids get vaccines -- injected toxins -- very early in life, and our own government clearly acknowledges vaccines cause brain damage in certain vulnerable kids.

Take those simple facts, along with tens of thousands of parental reports of regression after vaccination, not to mention a growing list of court cases where our government paid claims to children with autism acknowledging vaccines as the trigger, and the case we Moms are making makes sense...

Thank You Jenny-I've learned so much from you. And I've learned nothing from my pediatrician. I am relieved that I now will never vaccinate my 3 children again but still feel guilty about not asking questions in the past. I was so ignorant about vaccines and Autism in general but nobody offered any information. Thanks to you, I now research everything and am more informed. I hope one day my children are cured also.

Things I've learned about vaccines:
1) Vaccines causes pediatricians to be unethical, unscientific, dishonest, and untrustworthy.
2) Vaccines causes the media to be unethical, unscientific, dishonest, unreliable, and untrustworthy.
3) Vaccines causes the vaccine manufacturers to be scum.
4) Vaccines causes the CDC to manufacture and manipulate data, to keep from being hung.

Just stating the facts.

To ENM Not all parents with 9 10 and 11 year old children hate Jenny and are not continuing the Bio Med path. Recovry comes faster for some and We did not have a Jenny to lead us many of her gains with Evan came from the path we paved. All familys dealing with ASD need our support. We all continue the fight. Our son maked progress every day we have enough people tearing us down we don't need to to hear it in our own camps.

The miserable trolls are exactly that---miserable AND jealous. They are miserable with their own lives and it makes them feel better to lash out at people who have had success with biomed interventions. Can you imagine them when their kids are 35 years old, 300 lbs. and are still hitting them and biting? Who will they complain to then? They'll still be blaming Jenny somehow. These people who continually blog against biomed, vaccine problems and who hate every parent who does implement these interventions are so bitter and screwed up. I really feel sorry for their children.

I can't even comment at HuffPo anymore. It's so nauseating.

All I can do is post my son's success story with stopping his vaccines and the amazing turnaround with biomed - and hope that someone takes note and does their own research.

Jenny diagosed my son on her first Oprah appearance, so she will always have a special place in my heart. :-)

Many AAP doctors live in fear all day long.

They are afraid of Jenny McCarthy, afraid of the parents, afraid of the truth, and also afraid of the measels....

Natasa

my Huffo log in is crashing so I'll say it here:

Thank you Jenny!!!!

For every angry miserable troll out there there are dozens of kids pulled out of the mud every time you speak up. Even those crappy pieces like the Times article actually DO get the message across to those that need to hear it.

Thank you thank you thank you.

ENM

Has everyone noticed that the trolls and people who are so dead set against recovery and the concept of vaccine damage are the ones who are either:

A. too freakin' lazy to have ever even tried biomed and drug their kids to the max

or

B. are unbelievably jealous because their children are 9, 10, 11, years old and beyond and are still aggressive, have made little progress and are stuck in some horrible school situation or residential.

The pattern of these parents who claim to hate Jenny are so similar. What losers.

David Taylor

It's pretty bad over there. The deniers and trolls are out in full force and have the place flooded.

Jenny--Thank you for a well-written, well-reasoned article on this important children's health topic. Your modulated tone and willingness to see both sides in order to find a middle ground are in stark contrast to those who creep around these threads and prove themselves for what they are: pseudoskeptics. Their species is easily identified by their need to:
deny, rather than doubt
ridicule, rather than argue
see only one side, rather than both

My wife and I have been Rescue Angels in our town and are charter members of Generation Rescue since its founding by JB Hanley.

Please know that, literally, hundreds of parents and teachers in our area have sought us out for help with their vaccine-injured children.

Without fail they find your books, articles and positive support to be an important force for healing in their lives. On their behalf, our heartfelt thanks to you and Jim.

When people ask me how I recovered my son, (who is now in mainstream ed NO IEP!!) I think all the way back to the beginning and I have to say the first person was Jenny on Oprah. Lots of people have helped me along the way, but she was risking her neck enough so that I could hear her message.

THANKS JENNY!

maggie

All this publicity given to Jenny McCarthy is back firing on them. People are listening to what she's saying. My sister called me today to find out how to get a waiver for her kids AFTER all this publicity about Jenny McCarthy. Nevermind I've been warning her about vaccines for 9 years. Jenny got to her where I couldn't. People are quitting mainstream medicine because it's such a failure and taking their health back into their own hands.

I think the most aggravating part of the TIME article was the notion that Evan grew out of Autism like a short kid growing up.
If these people had any idea how laborious the recovery effort is...flying to specialists, hundreds of hours in an oxygen tanks, pricey supplements and lab tests. IV's, therapy, ABA etc. They would never say such ignorant things.
We spent our life savings and hundreds of man hours to get our child back from severe Autism. Jenny your journey was worse with near death seizure incidents.
It galls me that recovered kids are "undiagnosed". How about some better diagnosis here! Recognize when children recover from Autism and the people who had the tenacity to see healing through.
Recovery was the fight of our life.
I would love to show that TIME writer the note from our speech therapist upon entering the the school system. After working with my child for over an hour, not one sound was uttered at age 3. At 10, he talks, does age appropriate school work and even takes a weekly hip hop class with his friends. That was not due to a growth spurt pal!
And it certainly wasn't because our pediatrician got us the necessary resources to get our child back.
No, he sadly said it was a "big genetic mystery"... that just happened to be around all those shots loaded with Mercury.
We need a truth campaign here.
