France 24 Airs Interview with Dr. Marc Girard on Cancellation of 50 Million H1N1 Vaccine Doses
In November, we introduced you to a debate between Dr. Marc Girard, a consultant in drug monitoring and pharmacoepidemiology and Dr. Jean-Jacques Zambrowski, on the H1N1 pandemic. France 24 has aired a follow up interview: The French government announced yesterday that it would cancel the purchase of 50 million unused swine flu vaccines, a few days after deciding to sell part of the surplus to other countries. Has the vaccination campaign been overreacting? Click HERE to watch the program.
Below is the post we ran in November.
"In the medieval age, when there was an epidemic, people burned Jews. That was a way of doing something.”
From the English language service of French TV, Dr Marc Girard slugs it out with Dr Jean-Jacques Zambrowski, criticising the authorities for intervening in a primitive and senseless way to the swine flu threat. Click HERE to watch the debate on France 24's Face-Off.
Girard also reveals that in the preliminary tests for GSK’s Pandemrix vaccine (a mock-up using the H5N1 avian flu strain) there were seven unexplained deaths (p.57 HERE).
Marc Girard is a consultant in drug monitoring and pharmacoepidemiology. His book about the swine flu episode was published in October (HERE.)
Of course the US Policy is: still get the H1N1

Does the reference to Hep B vaccination refer to the temporary mandation?/recommendation? of Hep B vaccination for adults in France? I believe it was halted because of increased incidence of autoimmune disorders among recipients, and it seemed like there was some movement toward conducting a criminal investigation, but I haven't heard if that went forward.

God in heaven, after re-reading pages 13 to 18 (Non clinical aspects) it is very apparent that this Pandemrix (same as the one given in Canada) is a joke as far as safety studies go. They looked at mice, pigs and ferrets for the ability of the adjuvant to boost the immune response (primary pharmacology) but secondary pharmacology (safety?) was "not performed", "in accoradance with relevant (it's a frickin' pandemic and we have to hurry while people are scared and we can make money off this) guidelines."
Safety pharmacology program: "No safety studies were performed on Pandemrix."
I was not convinced that those poor rabbits fared very well. I am so glad that no one in our family got this stupid adjuvanted vaccine and I am really glad that, as Natassa mentioned, it will be debated through PACE as to the influence of drug makers on pandemic policy. I wish Dr. Wodarg well.

The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) is to hold an emergency debate and inquiry this month into the “influence” exerted by drugmakers on the World Health Organisation’s (WHO) global H1N1 flu campaign.
The text of the resolution APPROVED BY THE ASSEMBLY CALLING FOR THE DEBATE AND INQUIRY states that: “in order to promote their patented drugs and vaccines against flu, pharmaceutical companies influenced scientists and official agencies responsible for public health standards to alarm governments worldwide and make them squander tight health resources for inefficient vaccine strategies, and needlessly expose millions of healthy people to the risk of an unknown amount of side-effects of insufficiently tested vaccines.”
The WHO’s “false pandemic” flu campaign is “one of the greatest medicine scandals of the century,” according to Dr Wolfgang Wodarg, chairman the PACE Health Committee, who introduced the parliamentary motion. “The definition of an alarming pandemic must not be under the influence of drug-sellers,” he adds.

During this interview .. Dr. Girard recalled past government over-reactions and mentioned the HEP B vaccine as one of them. Does anyone know what he was alluding to?
Posted by: Bob Moffitt | January 08, 2010 at 09:13 AM
from the assessment reports for Pandemrix you can see that the adjuvanted vaccine had alot more adverse events associated with it than the non-adjuvanted vaccines. They only looked at subjects for 7 days post- vaccination and God forbid that they would find anything being causally related to the vaccinations, especially death. But don't worry because they've got increased "pharmacovigilance" in place watching for adverse events. Call me cynical but I wonder if why they decided that one vaccine was enough was because they were scared crapless about more adverse events with this adjuvanted vaccine.
