Winner: One Hour of Nutritional Consulting for Autism/ADHD

Autism help at homeCongrats to Rosemary Arnone won the contest for a one hour phone consultation with Kathleen Reily of Autism Help at Home, a Certified Holistic Health Counselor and Nutrition Consultant with a degree in Natural Health Sciences. Here's what she does for her clients:

I have over 20 years experience working with children and parents in the capacity of teacher, specialized caregiver and special diets cook. I also am a Board Certified and Accredited Member of The American Association of Drugless Practitioners (AADP), with affiliations to The State University Of New York (SUNY). Further, I am a trained professional and personal chef having cooked in restaurants and homes worldwide.

I use a holistic and biomedical approach with children (and adults) based on the most effective healing modalities known today. I will provide for you an innovative and effective system that will radically improve your child's symptoms and well-being. In my years of experience working with children facing similar challenges, I have developed an effective, individualized protocol to immediately address even the most severe issues. As we work toward healing your child, I also will guide you in a holistic health and nutrition program for your own h
ealing. Parents (rightly) focus on the urgency of addressing their child's needs but often forget themselves in the process. In order to optimally heal, a child needs physically and emotionally healthy parents. You as a parent need to be fully available to your child and I can help you to achieve that.

It's rare for any Mom to get an hour to work on their nutrition and personal health goals with a trained professional, let alone a Mom who's dealing with what you have on your plate every day. Moreover, you may not know that many parents of children with autism and ADHD have underlying health issues -- often undiagnosed -- similar to those of their special needs children, such as celiac disease, food intolerances, irritable bowel syndrome, acid reflux or "GERD", candida overgrowth, and the many nutritional connections involved with depression, anxiety, autoimmune diseases and thyroid disorders.

When your own body is healing, the process of healing your child becomes much less overwhelming. You will replace in your diet and your life, stressors that negatively impact
your physical and emotional well-being with foods and activities that promote healing. You are more likely to succeed by staying on track with constant support from me, staying tuned in to your child's program and being encouraged to be consistent through all efforts to ensure recovery.

I work from a holistic and balanced approach to promote a calm, productive, healthy and happy lifestyle. Most mainstream nutritionists and dietitians tend to focus on calories, carbs, fats, proteins, restrictions and lists of "good" and "bad" foods, declaring a specific number count on which the client is to rest assured will work. I don't do that. I work with my clients, taking into consideration individual symptoms, life stresses and dietary challenges, in a way that is flexible, fun and free of denial and discipline.

As a holistic health counselor and nutrition consultant, I am here to create a supportive environment while we explore the path that actually works for you to successfully achieve your goals for your child through a holistic nutritional model
for both of you. I will support you physically, mentally/emotionally, and spiritually.
