Saving Sammy: Curing the Boy Who Caught OCD with author Beth Alison Maloney
What would you do if your previously normal child suddenly refused to bathe, burst into fits of rage, slithered along walls, and wouldn't walk out the front door? Beth Maloney's son, Sammy, was diagnosed as an adolescent with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and Tourette syndrome. Beth rejected the doctors' prognosis of lifelong mental illness and uncovered the cause: Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorders Associated with Streptococcus Infections. Following appropriate medical intervention, Sammy fully recovered. Please visit www.savingsammy.net.
They are in the business to KEEP our children ill. The system had failed our
children and we as mothers and fathers are
forced to find the answers and fight and help our children. It is easier for them just to do a "Psych. consult" ,stuff them up with other toxins and never find the real cause of the illness. I think the medical system had reached the lowest of the low.We all have to get political and fight them. When the autistic kids grow up,it becomes schizophrenia and OCD, and other illnesses like low white blood cells,
due to side effects. It is heart breaking how they are treating the symptoms and cause more harm with their treatment.I can not write anymore, if I would of know what I know now I would of never bring a beautiful child to this dirty world.

My daughter is on prozac, before that she was on zyloft. My son was on zyloft because Dr. Rimland suggested it and for night terrors.
My sister-in-law's son that is hyper - hyper is on cmyballtra. He got caught drinking and driving Halloween night. His blood levels were not high enough in alcohol to keep him so they released him but told him he should not mix the two. His poor 80 year old grandmother had to go pick him up since he is living with her down on the coast (job related arrangement), but 2 hours away from his parents. I think cmyballtra is not enough for his antidepresstion, and he is self medicating.
These are not the treatment I want for our children but their mood with out it!!!!!!!!!! What can you do?????

My child had strep 4-5 times Kindergarten year. The ped NEVER mentioned PANDAS to me as a possibility - but later when I brought it up we talked about it.
It's enough to drive you crazy sometimes . . .

You know I have doubts that Sammy is "recovered"., as he states everytime he gets sick, he is back on antibiotics. Maybe he is acting normal, but the use of antibiotics on a regular basis makes me think he is trying to treat something underlying, that flares from time to time.
The PANDA's titers, makes me think Lyme disease, co- infections, heavy metal toxins, viral, enviromental toxins.
Parents need to be given full options of looking into the real reasons why this is going on with their child.
And Prozac isn't going to kick this!
