Age of Autism Contest: A Dozen Allergy Friendly Muffins from Sean's Food!

Sean's FoodManaging Editor's Note: I had to add Katie Wright's comment on this post: You name it I have tried it. I have followed the recipes, read the books, etc but NOTHING I have done has ever come close to Jennifer Becker's SCD or GFCF food! Jennifer is an incredibly talented chef who comes from a family of chefs. She is like a walking encylopedia of autism and dietary interventions. Jennifer lives this everyday with her son Sean who has made significant progress since Jennifer basically taught herself how to care for his damaged GI system by feeding him the right foods. Of course Jennifer knows our kids need good quality therapy as well but she makes the food part easy. I have no financial interest in Jennifer's company but when something works for my son I want to tell everyone.

I met Jennifer Becker of Sean's Food at the NAA NY conference earlier this month. When I tasted her yummy muffins I asked her if we could please run a contest for our readers.  Leave a comment to enter. The winner will receive a dozen fresh baked muffins - you choose the FLAVOR. The muffins contain NO gluten, casein, dairy, soy, egg, refined sugar, rice, corn.

“Sean’s Food” is committed to producing the freshest, most wholesome foods that support the dietary restrictions often associated with autism, aspergers, adhd, celiacs disease, crohns and colitis. Founded by Jennifer Becker, Sean’s Mother. “It all started when I realized how nutrition and diet played a significant role toward healing my son, Sean’s autism. ” We will personally prepare baked goods for those on restricted diets. All products are organic as well as free of gluten, soy and casein. Additionally, many are free of egg, sugar, corn, rice and potato. At “Sean’s Food,” we are dedicated to making things available that would otherwise require hours spent in the kitchen.

THANK GOD FOR SEAN'S FOOD...it's as simple as that! I hope Jennifer realizes how happy she makes so many children (and their parents) by providing such delicious treats....you can't put a price on that!

Yes, Definitely sign me up! I met Jennifer at my sons school and not only was she very personable but extremely knowledgeable about digestive disorders and how following a diet free of allergens helps to heal the body and the mind. I have tasted many of her baked goods and they taste incredible!!

Jennifer is an amazing Mom I met at the Path family center in Staten Island, and is a huge inspiration to all of us. She knows her interventions, and food. thank you Jennifer for giving us local options for allergy free baked goods in NYC, and who better to support than a fellow autism Mom!

I met Jennifer at the NAA Conference in early October. I sampled every item on her table, many more than once, while having a lovely conversation with her. As a former pastry chef, I feel able to bake for my "dietarily challenged" family, but I know a lot of folks aren't so able. Jennifer has taken care of it for you! I left with one of everything and would relish the opportunity to take a break from baking and devour more of her goodies!!! XO--another Jennifer

Ali

Prior to us going GFCF, I was a pretty good baker. I can make a great macaroon and a chocolate cake but muffins/scones I'm still really struggling with. Excited to hear about your great muffins!

Oh, how I dream of a day when I don't have to bake for my son.... something allergen free including corn free!!! Unheard of in my neck of the woods.

Kim Mack Rosenberg

I agree with Katie -- Jennifer is a wiz. Her stuff is so yummy -- even my husband who turns his nose up at a lot of GFCF/SCD stuff has loved what he has tried from her selections!

Tina, mom to one special little girl

I'd love to try the sweet potato!

Katie Kelley

Ok I must admit I'm not a very good baker when it comes to GF CF Egg Free. I made Brownie Soup the other night. Tasted good but in no way, shape or form did they resemble brownies. Yes, please do enter me...my children need something that doesn't run off their spoon.

Katie Wright

Buy Julie Matthews book "Nourishing Hope" and order some of Sean's food.

Lisa Thompson

Muffins? YES, please!

Tracy McDermott

my dad just got a celiac dx. He can fight his grandson for the muffin :)

Tami

My son LOVES muffins! It's the only way I can get him to eat meat and veggies! LOL I'm sneaky like that! :D

Kecia

Those look so yummy! My son would be in heaven with a dozen of those delicious muffins. :)

Carrie Elsass

Oh my goodness, do these sound fabulous! Agave as a sweetener choice? SCD options? Amazing! Where are they based? Is pickup rather than shipping an option for those who live in their area?
Do we know if they freeze well?

My son loves "puffy food" :)
