On Saturday, the New York Times ran an article about the fallout from a dairy farm in Wisconsin. You can read the full article HERE.
MORRISON, Wis. — All it took was an early thaw for the drinking water here to become unsafe.
There are 41,000 dairy cows in Brown County, which includes Morrison, and they produce more than 260 million gallons of manure each year, much of which is spread on nearby grain fields. Other farmers receive fees to cover their land with slaughterhouse waste and treated sewage.
In measured amounts, that waste acts as fertilizer. But if the amounts are excessive, bacteria and chemicals can flow into the ground and contaminate residents’ tap water.
In Morrison, more than 100 wells were polluted by agricultural runoff within a few months, according to local officials. As parasites and bacteria seeped into drinking water, residents suffered from chronic diarrhea, stomach illnesses and severe ear infections...
I cannot wait to read this book. Thank you David!

I am personally concerned about paratuberculosis, which is on the comeback. Basically it renders the cow into a IBD state, Chron's like condition. The gut of the cow on examination, is the same gut "look" as a human...which brings to question the pastuerization issue. Current pastuerization does NOT KILL the pathogen. Heat is not killing it. So what is really in our milk? A good friend of mine also, has taken samples from around grocery stores in the area, put it under her electron microscope, and sees PARASITES in the milk, the kind of parasites that causes loose stool syndromes. Is it any wonder our kids get better when they get off milk?

what's maddening about all this sudden press on CAFO farms is that John Robbins published 'Diet for a New America' in 1987 addressing exactly what is now finally being discussed in main stream media. How slow America is to hear what it simply does not want to hear (as most of us well know).
