IACC Conference Call Today to Discuss Autism Research Strategic Plan
The Interagency Autism Coordinating Committee (IACC) will hold a conference call today, Wednesday, 2-4 pm EDT, to discuss plans for updating the autism research strategic plan. To access the conference call: USA/Canada Phone Number: 888-455-2920. Access code: 1050786.
This plan is the heart of the Combating Autism Act and must be updated every year, including a research budget. The current draft can be found here HERE.
The existing draft is quite deficient in cause and treatment research. A comprehensive program of vaccine research was included in the first plan but deleted in a controversial meeting last January over the objection of most of the community members (except Alison Singer, who did vote to delete vaccine research).
Public meetings to discuss the current state and needed research will take place in Washington Sept. 30 and Oct. 1. Public comments on the current and updated plan are due August 21.
they must have taken off early because of better things to do (like other meetings we know of) because i just called in at 3:30 and no one is there.
