A of A Contest: Angela Moore Autism Awareness Classic Bracelet!

Angela moore bracelet Our friends at Angela Moore have generously donated four items from their Autism Awareness Collection to Age of Autism.  We'll be giving away one item each week in April. The Angela Moore "Autism Awareness" collection was created to help increase awareness in the treatment and understanding of autism.  15% of the proceeds from this collection are donated to the Autism Society of America including The Rimland Center.

We begin with the gorgeous Classic bracelet, set on a crisp white background, this bracelet features puzzle pieces and a rainbow of ribbons in happy colors. Leave a comment to enter. (If you've any trouble commenting email kimstagliano@gmail.com)

When I saw this bracelet, I thought of all the things to post to be the person "chosen" to get it. I wanted to the person who was blessed to wear it every day. And then I thought, "it isn't right to try to "sway the judges"". So, I thought about the few times when things have seemed so hard, the hours so long and the journey so....endless...and how there have been a few little "surprises" along the way that have come I feel to say, "I'M here, keep it up...here is a little something to brighten your day...I approve of your "work"..."and I thought, just maybe, this bracelet would turn out to be one of those little surprises. That would be awesome!

Then with great pride I will pass on the bracelet to the next determined grandmother to wear until the wonderful day comes when her grandchild achieves recovery.

I love that beautiful bracelet! I have an interesting autism story for you all. Yesterday I was at the chiropractor's office with my beautiful daughter. A woman came up to me and asked me if my daughter had autism and I said yes. She then asked me questions about where she went to school. I was a bit hesitant, I don't tell just anyone a lot of information about my kids. Then she told me she was the teacher for the severely handicapped kids in Jr. High in our school district. I then told her that Megan has autism, Down Syndrome, and ADHD. Her response to that was that it is "illegal" to diagnose a child with Down Syndrome and Autism. I then just tried to get away from her, she's obviously not well informed and she's supposed to be my kid's teacher the year after next :-0. My husband said I should have told her to call the police then because she's been diagnosed with both! ;-> Gotta love a guy with that kind of sense of humor! Linda
