Wall Street Journal Joins Mother Jones in Attacking Oprah Winfrey for 11 Year Old Show on Vaccines

SPEAK TRUTHMother Jones and The Wall Street Journal don't cross paths often. But when it comes to the Pharma/Government media noose as regards the vaccine autism topic, they are comfy, cozy bedfellows following orders from.... somewhere.   The American public heard Oprah talk about "Speaking your truth" as it relates to sexual assault and the "me too" message that women do not have to put up with shaming, violence, or any sort of influence of in order to have success. And so, the pharma media juggernaut has gone into full discredit mode.  Why on earth would these two publications dredge up an ELEVEN year old TV episode of Oprah's talk show?

Can the average American see the immediate reaction to anything that "threatens" free thought regarding vaccination safety? Pharma is like Kim Jung Un in North Korea.  Deny, lie, shut down any perceived opposition. Except their button is millions of syringes going into our kids. The world applauded Winfrey's message. And so do we. I, as a woman, as a woman who teaches self defense to others, as a woman who has vaccine injured children, I applaud her message. SPEAK THE TRUTH EVEN IF YOUR VOICE SHAKES.  The WSJ calls Winfrey's message "bromides," the definition of which is a trite and unoriginal idea or remark, typically intended to soothe or placate.

Lord, I need a Bromo Seltzer after reading even the snip of the article that you can see from the WSJ online. We do not and will not pay for a prescription (oops, I mean subscription) to this paper.  I hope Winfrey gets very, very angry and speaks more truth.  Kim

Oprah’s ‘Truth’ and Its Potentially Deadly Consequences
She gave Jenny McCarthy a platform to promote the discredited idea that vaccines cause autism.

Former daytime television superstar and rumored Democratic presidential candidate Oprah Winfrey won the Cecil B. DeMille Award at Sunday night’s Golden Globes. In the “complicated times” we live in, she said during her acceptance speech, “speaking your truth is the most powerful tool we all have.”

While such bromides may play well with an audience of entertainers, Ms. Winfrey’s applause lines should be a warning to those who take her political ambitions seriously. She built.....

Sarah Larson, in her New Yorker podcast, wrote about Winfrey "giving a platform to Jenny McCarthy’s terrible anti-vaccination campaign".

This is a form of social blindness.
It is the substitution of meme for thought.
Bigoted, in the sense of, vaccine injured need to know their place, and it is not in the media.
It is the social herding of voices that should have been heeded long ago.
It is inexcusably ill informed.
It is not journalism.

I wonder whether any of the industry operatives' "smear Oprah now" correspondence involved government agency staff. Meaning it could be the subject of a FOIA request, which may or may not prove productive.

In any case, the number and timing of these media hit pieces says a lot already. Critical thinkers can connect the dots to the profiteers evading blame and financial responsibility for selling faulty consumer products.

Today's media is all the rage over Trump's grossly racist comments regarding people from other countries.

Funny, I didn't see anyone in the media defend Somalian parents living in MN when their children boasted the highest rates of autism in the country. I didn't see anyone in the media mention anything about the president of Kenya standing behind a podium and proclaim that the tetanus vaccination program initiated in his country by the WHO was a sterilization program. I did see anyone in the media, not Rachel Maddow, not Amy Goodman, not Thom Hartman, not Glen Greenwald mention the fact that in October of 2016 hundreds of black, Islamic, American mothers were circling a federal agency in the United States of America begging for a subpoena.

I guess that great American experiment is only allowed to work if it is anti-Trump. Or is it - when it is pro-vaccine?

I think Mrs. Gunlock needs the before and after photo campaign. I selected my photos last night and will be sending to:
Megan Jula c/o Mother Jones magazine: 222 Sutter St #600, San Francisco, CA 94108
and now
Mrs. Julie Gunlock c/o Women's Independent Forum 1875 I Street, NW • Suite 500 • Washington, DC 20006
My suggestion is just a simple "before vax" photo and "after vax" with a little hand-written note that says (like in my case): Child's name: Meeting developmental milestones just fine. MMR Jan 13, 1996: Stopped talking, stopped thriving, consequently diagnosed with autism. I invite you to learn the difference between "efficacy" and "safety." They are two different matters when it comes to vaccines. Sally Rubin

"is it possible the vaccine issue actually swung the last US election ? I think it is ."

I suspect there is no way to prove the "vaccine issue" actually swung the last US election .. but ... we do know the "vaccine issue" was quickly abandoned by the media .. and .. the other primary career politician candidates .. after then candidate Trump refused to cower in fear of being asked to defend his position.

Indeed .. a quick google search .. "Trump on vaccines" ..

https://fortune.com/2017/02/16/donald-trump-autism-vaccines/

referred me to the following article .. written by Laura Entis .. on February 16,2017 .. Fortune.com:

"Among the conspiracy theories in regular rotation by President Trump is his insistence there is a connection between autism and vaccines.

He’s made this discredited link — a theory based and popularized on a now-debunked and retracted study by Andrew Wakefield — via speeches, tweets, even the Republican debate stage.

On Tuesday .. (remember this article was published Feb 16, 2017!) .. in a conversation with educators and Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos, Trump reiterated these concerns. “So what’s going on with autism?” he asked a teacher in the audience. “When you look at the tremendous increase, it’s really — it’s such an incredible — it’s really a horrible thing to watch, the tremendous amount of increase.”

It’s not surprising that Trump continues to suggest that vaccinations can cause autism — he’s been saying as much for years. But as president, Trump’s position carries outsized weight, and has the power to significantly impact autism research and treatment, as well the number of preventable outbreaks of viral-borne diseases such as measles and mumps.

There are indications Trump plans to set up a “vaccine safety commission” headed by Robert F. Kennedy Jr., a vocal proponent of the theory that vaccines cause autism. Kennedy told Politico as much, adding that he has met with Trump’s staff and transition team “many times” since the election to discuss the issue, hinting that a formal announcement from the White House is forthcoming.

For its part, the medical community has been consistent and adamant on this point: There is no proven connection between vaccines and autism. While autism diagnoses have risen noticeably over the couple decades — climbing from one in 150 in 2000 to one in 68 today, according to the CDC — experts attribute much of this to better diagnosis techniques and increased awareness.

Meanwhile outbreaks of contagious diseases, such as measles, mumps, and whooping cough, are making a comeback, driven in large part by parents refusal to vaccinate their children for religious and philosophical reasons. In 2000 measles was declared eradicated in the U.S. In 2014, there were 668 reported cases, according to the US Centers for Disease Control. For measles to be contained, around 95% of the population needs to be immune — dip below that, and contagion becomes more likely. In some areas of California, vaccination exemption rates are estimated to be in the double digits, a factor that experts believe contributed to a measles outbreak in Disneyland, which infected dozens of children last year.
--------------------------------------------------------

How is it possible that we have NEVER heard that ... Trump actually asked a teacher in the audience "what's going on with autism?" .. and .. that RFK has told Politico that "he has met with Trump's staff and transition team, many times, SINCE THE ELECTION TO DISCUSS THE ISSUE, HINTING THAT A FORMAL ANNOUNCEMENT FROM THE WHITE HOUSE IS FORTHCOING".

Again, I suspect we haven't heard of this article .. because .. again .. the greatest power of the press .. is their power to IGNORE. Therefore .. it should surprise no one the mainstream media IGNORED what Trump asked that teacher .. or ... what RFK told Politico.

We have seen these people trash Jenny McCarthy and Katie Couric. You have to ask what the matter is with this issue that no one may even talk about it.

I think perhaps the article by Peter Doshi in BMJ is relevant

Maybe they will not smash Oprah, maybe they will just succeed in intimidating her but either way it will be a victory for science fascism. If Oprah were to stand up now and say we have right to be heard -it is even essential - she could turn the tables.

Oprah isnt going to support us , no more than Trump has (a few good quotes is all we got).
But she needs those precious votes .

Thrilla in Manila :
https://news.abs-cbn.com/news/01/12/18/criminal-admin-raps-readied-over-dengvaxia-mess-pao

MANILA - The Public Attorney's Office said Friday it would file criminal and administrative charges against those who approved the use of a dengue vaccine, after it found at least 7 children who died after receiving the drug.
The seven fatalities were all found to have had bleeding in their brains, hearts and lungs before they died, "within 10 or 11 days after Dengvaxia vaccination," Public Attorney's Office forensics laboratory director Erwin Erfe told DZMM.
The government ordered a pullout of Dengvaxia after its manufacturer, French firm Sanofi Pasteur, said it might cause more severe symptoms if given to those who have not had dengue before.

And more good news :
https://newsinfo.inquirer.net/959706/doh-sends-demand-letters-to-sanofi-for-refund-of-unused-dengvaxia-vaccines

The Department of Health has sent official demand letters to Sanofi Pasteur following the controversy over the Dengvaxia anti-dengue vaccine.
Among others, the DOH laid down its demand for the refund of P 1.4 billion worth of Dengvaxia vials which were unused in the DOH’s immunization program.
The demands were stated in the agency’s letter to Thomas Triomphe, head of Sanofi Pasteur Asia Pacific.

The DOH also requested Sanofi Pasteur to conduct zero-testing of more than 830,000 children who received the vaccine to determine if they had previous dengue infections.
The agency said the pharmaceutical firm should use “a newly developed test to determine their pre-vaccination status at no cost to the government.”
