Kent Book PlaguePlague: By Kent Heckenlively

On July 22, 2009, a special meeting was held with twenty-four leading scientists at the National Institutes of Health to discuss early findings that a newly discovered retrovirus was linked to chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS), prostate cancer, lymphoma, and eventually neurodevelopmental disorders in children. When Dr. Judy Mikovits finished her presentation the room was silent for a moment, then one of the scientists said, “Oh my God!” The resulting investigation would be like no other in science.

For Dr. Mikovits, a twenty-year veteran of the National Cancer Institute, this was the midpoint of a five-year journey that would start with the founding of the Whittemore-Peterson Institute for Neuro-Immune Disease at the University of Nevada, Reno, and end with her as a witness for the federal government against her former employer, Harvey Whittemore, for illegal campaign contributions to US Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.

On this journey Dr. Mikovits would face the scientific prejudices against CFS, wander into the minefield that is autism, and through it all struggle to maintain her faith in God and the profession to which she had dedicated her life. This is a story for anybody interested in the peril and promise of science at the very highest levels in our country.

My son's life turned to the worst after his MMR vaccination, followed by many weeks of incurable rashes, then 8 days of non-stop vomiting, ER visit, and another DTAP vaccination a week after that. On the night the vomiting started, the doctor on-call said not to worry as it was most likely just a rotavirus, and it should end within 24-48 hours. Well, 12 years later my son is still very ill: Now entirely non-verbal, with multiple neurological, gastrointestinal and immune issues. We've tried so many treatments, but he is still severely disabled. I can't wait to read the "Plague". It will be interesting to see whether Dr. Mitovits and her investigative research can help us connect the dots and lead to some ideas for potential treatments. Hopefully, we could also interest some local doctors, teachers, friends and maybe even family members to read about this 21st century tragedy plaguing our nation.

Thank you for writing this book, so everyone can see the travesty of justice that took place!
I'm happy to report this excellent book IS making a difference already. My NT daughter (who has witnessed vaccine injury firsthand in her two siblings), is home from college and has now read Plague, after I raved about it. She and was absolutely appalled at the treatment of Dr. Mitovits. She will definitely be sharing this with her friends (many of them are science majors, and her best friend is going into "investigative science"). I do believe her generation will NOT shy away from this fight, especially as they want to protect their own babies from the dangers of our out-of-control vaccine schedule. People ARE waking up to the fact they have been lied to, and that our children are being sacrificed for profit on a daily basis.

I loved this book!
It is incredible. Sadly, if it were not non-fiction I would find too absurd to be true.
"Plague" is phenomenally well researched and documented.
It is all too true and the story is astonishing- tragic.
Thank you to the courageous Dr. Mitovits and her efforts to be true to the science and help people suffering from neuroimmune disease.
To be such a brilliant and innovative researcher should not cost a person their career.
