You can run, but you can't hide! It's flu season and drug companies and government agencies have dumped big bucks into advertising the dangers of influenza to make sure that every American over six months old gets a flu shot. Health care workers are being fired if they refuse to roll up their sleeves and get a flu shot every year. In Connecticut and New Jersey, parents must give their six month old babies the flu vaccine or be banned from daycare.

For almost a decade, CDC officials have told the public that they "estimate" every year there are more than 200,000 hospitalizations and 36,000 deaths from influenza in the U.S. The media uses those figures to warn people how dangerous influenza is and why everyone should get a flu shot.
