School Children Receiving H1N1 Vax without Parental Consent

A child in Brooklyn, New York was given the H1N1 vaccination without her mother's written consent. There is such a  thing as a a vaccine exemption (HERE). Even if you're completely in favor of H1N1 vaccination, it seems these school based clinics have much room for error, and children could be put in danger.

A swine flu vaccine mix-up has sparked outrage and concern.

Two children were given the vaccine without their parent's consent. One mother said her daughter ended up in the emergency room after getting sick.

It's a major mistake that could've cost one little girl her life.

It will be a long weekend for 6-year-old Nikiyah Torres as a result of an H1N1 vaccination she received Thursday morning at PS 335 in Brooklyn.

"He just gave me the needle, without asking me what is my name," Nikiyah told CBS 2 HD.

My son just started a pre-k ese program (he's 3). The elementary school where his cluster program is housed are administering vaccines to everyone and I'm afraid that even he doesn't get the vaccine, is there still a chance that he can catch the virus from someone else since they will be injected with live viruses?

So we called the health department and asked some questions to find out what this was about and she stated that they were not really sure that were just told to send these letters home. She also stated that there are three nurses at there office and two out of the three would not be giving there child the flu vaccine. Also she would not be giving it to her children as well. Also that they had not yet received any of the vaccines and they did not know when the CLINIC would be held.
I urge all parents to GET INFORMED!!! Read the vaccine inserts, google all of the reports of children that are being vaccinated at there schools without consent, there are cases all over the country. We are living in a scary time when you cant even send you children to school without having to worry that a SCHOOL OFFICIAL OR A PRIVATE CONTRACTOR is going to be shooting up our children with who knows what....

I live in caroll county illinois and a consent form just came home for my child in kindergarden but not for my pre school child at the same school. The form is as fallows: I do hereby consent to allow the carroll county health department and its DESIGNATED EMPLOYEES AND CONTRACTORS to provide medical, health, dental, and/or social services to me and / or my children (example: to preform a medical evaluation and treat conditions found therein). I understand the nature and consequences of any procedures to be performed will be explained to me. I understand that te health department is already authorized to use the information gained during treatment to bill me , my insurance, or any other potential sources of reimbursement, such as government programs in which I am enrolled or qualify for services.

This form also states that if you have any alergys to eggs, have had a serious reaction to a previous flue vaccine, or have had guillain -Barre syndrome that you will not recive the 2009 h1n1 influenza vaccine but you can probably get the 2009 h1n1 vaccine.
At the bottom It states: (for staff use only) I attempted to obtain an Acknowledgment of the receipt of the Notice of Privacy Practices on behalf of the health department. The health department was unable to obtain Acknowledgment because 1. client refuses to sign 2. other(specify)

I am a firm believer that HIPPA policies were born to cover vaccine injury. If the families do not come forward with damage after H1N1 vaccine, then these cases will be blamed on the spread of the disease vs the spread due to vaccine.

I will be keeping BOTH of my children home from school on the day our local school district has decided to bend over for the health dept and make the walls of education a cauldron of germs and snot. I have explained that my youngest is immune compromised and allergic to eggs so there is no way he could get this vaccine even IF I wanted him too and I'll be damned if the school district is going to put HIM at risk. It's bad enough that I sacrificed him for the herd years ago, now the HERD is going to turn on him? My older son (15) won't be going either. I don't want him bringing either flu into our home. I've already told him, if ANYONE comes near you or even hints that you will be next in line, you sit your ass in a corner and tell them..."Call my mom." and don't you dare leave that corner until I walk in the door. I've been saying that this was going to happen since the vaccine was first mentioned.
Now who is responsible for the education MY children will miss because of the schools bright idea to do this? We're talking how many days if they get the mist? 7 to 21 days right? I hope they know a great tutor.

I received an 'off the record' comment from someone who works in healthcare that confirmed that a 4 year old girl, recieved the H1N1 (not sure if nasal or injection), she got the shot last week Tuesday and has been VIOLENTLLY ILL since, and now her grandma put her into the hospital (I am assuming its Childrens hospital in our area)...and they cant figure out whats going on. Terribly sick, seizures, super high fevers, withdrawn, lethargy,almost coma like.....I havent been able to find it in the news, but its TRUE...I would love to bea reporter adn call the hospital/etc and start reporting THESE stories....

How many of these REACTIONS are going to be "See why we NEEDED Teh vaccine, the H1N1 was SO bad, they will probably lie and say she must have had it before she got the shot, you know because 'shots cant cause the virus, you know.!?...

Also, does anyone have any recommendations that I can hand over to the family about how to get her recovered...I am *assuming* its a Mercury and/or alum. overdose....since she is 4, its very well possible that she had her kindergarden booster shots, the reg flu shot and then the H1N1 all within a short time frame...but anyone, please email me at

Virastop? please help, she is 4, I am guessing around 35-40 pounds maybe? typically healhty....and I believe she DOES have Autism...not sure on her current diet/whatnot...all that she has been healthy and now pretty sad and ereally really sickly!

PS, does VAERS track H1N1 as well?

I have told my two healthy kids about the flu vaccines and how we will not be getting them and if anyone at school tries to give them a shot that they should not allow it. My husband and friends thought I was crazy because "that could never happen..."
I guess with my sick child I will just have to trust because he can't speak. :(

My husband is a commercial insurance broker and has been advising his school district clients what to do regarding getting coverage in the event a health care worker vaccinates without parental consent. It's happening where we live as well. When he tried to warn of this very issue, the health departments "assured" the school districts it wouldn't be a problem. What a mess.
