We're pleased to provide a contest for a one hour phone consultation with Kathleen Reily of Autism Help at Home, a Certified Holistic Health Counselor and Nutrition Consultant with a degree in Natural Health Sciences. Leave a comment to enter. You can choose your consult time. Here's what she does for her clients:
I have over 20 years experience working with children and parents in the capacity of teacher, specialized caregiver and special diets cook. I also am a Board Certified and Accredited Member of The American Association of Drugless Practitioners (AADP), with affiliations to The State University Of New York (SUNY). Further, I am a trained professional and personal chef having cooked in restaurants and homes worldwide.
I use a holistic and biomedical approach with children (and adults) based on the most effective healing modalities known today. I will provide for you an innovative and effective system that will radically improve your child's symptoms and well-being. In my years of experience working with children facing similar challenges, I have developed an effective, individualized protocol to immediately address even the most severe issues. As we work toward healing your child, I also will guide you in a holistic health and nutrition program for your own healing. Parents (rightly) focus on the urgency of addressing their child's needs but often forget themselves in the process. In order to optimally heal, a child needs physically and emotionally healthy parents. You as a parent need to be fully available to your child and I can help you to achieve that.
When your own body is healing, the process of healing your child becomes much less overwhelming. You will replace in your diet and your life, stressors that negatively impact your physical and emotional well-being with foods and activities that promote healing. You are more likely to succeed by staying on track with constant support from me, staying tuned in to your child's program and being encouraged to be consistent through all efforts to ensure recovery.
I work from a holistic and balanced approach to promote a calm, productive, healthy and happy lifestyle. Most mainstream nutritionists and dietitians tend to focus on calories, carbs, fats, proteins, restrictions and lists of "good" and "bad" foods, declaring a specific number count on which the client is to rest assured will work. I don't do that. I work with my clients, taking into consideration individual symptoms, life stresses and dietary challenges, in a way that is flexible, fun and free of denial and discipline.
As a holistic health counselor and nutrition consultant, I am here to create a supportive environment while we explore the path that actually works for you to successfully achieve your goals for your child through a holistic nutritional model for both of you. I will support you physically, mentally/emotionally, and spiritually.

Warm Regards,
Kathleen Reily, CHHC, AADP

We just went back to GF (stayed CF for years). I need some encouragement! If I'm not too late to enter the contest, please put my name in the bag. Thanks!

Am I too late?? which would be the story of my life....I would also love love love to win this contest! My son is now 12 and still eats a severely limmitted diet. Its something I really want to work on but every time I try to, I get so overwhelmed.
Nutrition could help my whole family also, not just my son on the spectrum, but my husband who has suffered thru heart attack and bypass surgery and my other son, who has alot of digestive problems and allergies and ofcourse, myself....i suffer with psoriasis. Wow, I'm sorta depressed now, lol

My son is allergic to 128 various foods, has high oxalates and is on a rotating, limited foods diet (no GFCF, Casein, Egg, rice, corn, etc.). I travel a lot (every week) and can't be at home to help. My wife struggles with recipes to vary his food enough for him to thrive. Although, he hasn't. He's lost weight. He's down to 32 lbs for a 5 1/2 year old.
We could really use any help provided...or suggestions...or a chef! ;-)

Channeling your inner Eddie Haskell, Bradley?? "That's a very nice dress, Mrs. Cleaver." You know, when you tell a 45 year old woman, "you look young and energized," that's not QUITE what she hears... (Do I look 43? I feel quite young today.)

Please enter me in the contest. I'm a single mom (father's only involvement is financial) to a 9yr old girl with Asperger's, Cerebral Palsy and a seizure disorder. She is very limited in the types of foods (mostly crunchy carbs) she eats. I've just started supplementing her and could really use the guidance.

My entire family would benefit from winning this contest. My son has been GFCF for 3 yrs now and he still only eats a limited variety of foods. He still has a rash on his face and arms that his DAN dr says she cannot figure out...I know it's something he's eating!
I've also gone CF and will be eliminating gluten next. Finding/creating GFCF foods has been challenging to me as a mom....I have limited time and ideas to come up with...add the picky eater and I'm a tad frustrated some days. I sincerely need your help in this area. Thanks so much!
