No Coke! Pharma!

Managing Editor's Note: I actually agree with the doctors' protest. Coke isn't quite healthfood , although I have no problem with older children and adults drinking it in moderation. You might recall last year the AAP expressed  outrage at the sugar content in organic baby formula. Anyone else hear fiddling while Rome burns?

Nearly 20 doctors have resigned from the American Academy of Family Physicians after it accepted a grant from Coca-Cola to pay for education about the dietary role of beverages and sweeteners.  "...I am appalled and ashamed of the partnership between Coca-Cola and the American Academy of Family Physicians. How can any organization that claims to promote public health join forces with a company that promotes products that sicken our children?  “...We need as much help as possible to get our communities to see past the false claims of companies like Coca-Cola."  Click HERE to read more. 

Meanwhile, AAFP has a grant from Merck to train "Vaccine Experts:" 

Herbert Young, M.D., director of the Academy's Scientific Activities Division, said the AAFP needs more family physicians to be "significantly involved" with immunizations, science and policy.

"We need a pipeline of family physicians with special knowledge about immunizations for a variety of reasons, including research, policy creation and education," Young said.

The AAFP will select two fellows each year for one-year commitments. The program, which is slated to last three to five years, is funded by a grant from Merck & Co. Inc., but the vaccine manufacturer will have no input or control over the selection of fellows or content of the fellowship program. Read that one HERE.

Reminds me of the famous scene from "Casablanca," where Claude Raines' character, the police captain, is told to find an excuse to close Rick's Place. He blows his whistle and announces that he's shutting the place down. When Rick (Humphrey Bogart) demands to know on what grounds his place is being closed, the captain says, "I am shocked, SHOCKED, to find that GAMBLING is going on...!"

Coke is also a $1,000,000 sponsor of the American Dental Association (ADA). The President of the ADA censored a few dentists who spoke out on this arrangement. It's amazing how willing the medical professions allow or seek to be corrupted and turn their back on the health and safety of their patients. Between the sugar and the acid in pop, children's teeth don't have a chance.

I think the phrase is morally bankrupt....but we already know that.

Years ago the late Emanuel Cheraskin MD DDS, former head of the Dept of Oral Medicine University of Alabama, Birmingham, and his colleagues demonstrated the immune suppressing effect of sugar consumption - particularly in pop, fruit juice, candy, etc., and not even honey was exempt from the effect. One exception was real maple syrup.

For every teaspoon of sugar consumed white cell activity (they fight bacteria and other infective organisms) was reduced by 50 percent fOR EIGHT HOURS.

An 8 ounce can of pop can contain 8 to 10 teaspoons of sugar. That is 40 to 50 hours of impaired immunity.

AAFP wants its members to get a fair share of the revenue stream. Vaccines at Walmart cuts out the AAFP middle man.

Of course, parental vaccine safety awareness plays a large role in this process too. Doctors can no longer order one dose of each vaccine per patient without taking the risk of loss on some of their inventory.

I am more appalled and ashame of the AAP for doing damage to millions of children, KNOWINGLY watch a holocaust enfold.

Meanwhile, the HFCS in coke, is enough..drink it everyday, and how much mercury do you get from that heh?

Still, Coke does a wonderful job of depleting us of our immune quality, and equally great job on cleaning a toilet... imagine what it does to your "inards"
