Unacceptable! Autism Excluded from H.R. 3200 Healthcare Bill! Call Speaker Pelosi Now.

Whatever your thoughts are with regard to the national health reform discussion, whatever your party politics are, I want you to think about this.  Children with autism deserve appropriate health care coverage for their medical condition.  Some children in some places have access to that.  Most children with autism in most places do not. 

The health reform ship has sailed and autism insurance reform is not on it.

H.R. 3200 is currently in mark up and our hope of achieving autism insurance reform as part of the larger health reform initiative will require an amendment.  We can get that if we can be loud and generate thousands of phone calls into Speaker Pelosi's office over the next couple of hours.
 Here is how you can help:

1. CALL Speaker Nancy Pelosi's office at 202-225-0100 and tell her office that health insurance reform that does not stop autism insurance discrimination is unacceptable.

All you have to say is this:
 
"Hi. My name is ________.  I believe that health insurance that does not stop autism insurance discrimination is unacceptable and I am counting on Speaker Pelosi to be sure that children with autism have appropriate coverage for the treatments and therapies they deserve access to for their medical condition. Thank you."

2. GET EVERYONE YOU KNOW TO DO THE SAME AND MULTIPLY YOUR EFFORTS!   You need to get 20 people in your life MINIMUM to call within the next two hours and you must keep the pressure up and keep the pressure on if you want to see this for your children.

This whole Health Care Bill is wrong.
It includes abortions, rations health care to elderly, INCLUDES Illegals, allows Government accesss to your bank accounts, and will "insturct and consult reguarding living will and assume power of attorney of all enrollees. I am wishing you the best of luck with your campaign highlighting the fact that children, teenagers and young adults have been excluded from the health care system because they happen to have Autism. We are experiencing the same injustice over here in the UK.

Looks like an end to health savings accounts as well, which has been the ONLY way we have been able to afford our DAN doctor, medical travel, and supplements. Before we had the HSA our daughter received the traditional therapies and made progress but wasn't even close to recovery. Now, thanks to the DAN protocol and the therapies that WE as her parents have chosen, she is making significant progress, and for the first time we have had real hope. We can kiss that all goodbye if this bill is passed.

I believe wholly in this cause , however the bill itself is entirely flawed and needs to be thrown out and re wrote. Being upset about one particular problem with the bill will not help anyone at all and only bring the country as a whole down. Just like many problems this country is facing , Autism is something you cannot put on a blanket style bill filled with pork on . Health problems as a whole , that we as a country should help , need to be on an amendment with NOTHING ELSE ! And may the health of the people then be on the constitution for all to see and all used in court cases needed to "FIX" the insurance problems. The problem is not Peolsi , it is not Obama , It is the American people needing to stand up and make changes for themselves NOT the failing government doing it for them , because they NEVER will. They have their pockets and reputations to keep expanding . So I say again DO NOT add this to the BILL , instead have the BILL thrown out and replaced by something that the governments of the future would have a very hard time changing , The Constitution Of the United States of America , NOT the current capitalist and politicians that talk and then do what they feel like at that particular moment.

You know we talk about people being sheep where vaccines are concerned. In my opinion those who want the federal government making our medical decisions for us are also sheep. What makes anyone think that just because autism would be covered that our kids would be better off? The insurance coverage that would be available (like in Pennsylvania) would only cover "approved" therapies such as ABA, OT, ST and PT. Supplements would not be covered, nor would any other therapy that doesn't fall under western medicine techniques (i.e. psychotropic drugs, stimulants and the like). am VERY grateful to not have to worry about my meddling federal government telling me what my son is going to receive. Another thing to think about when this socialized medicine kicks in (and it surely will) the extensive database the government is going to be keeping on our health. If the swine flu vaccine truly is a tool of eugenics then who do you all think is going to be first on their "hit" list? Our kids and our parents. Do you all really want this universal health insurance?? If we accept the insurance we except the government telling us what we can and can not do medically. I for one know I don't want the failed establishment known as the US government telling me what my family is deserving of. As far as I am concerned the feds have done us a great service by pretending we don't exist. We may actually survive this!
