Autism Action Network Alert: Sen. McCain

    Try THIS link.

We're pleased to announce the introduction of The Action Alert. We will be working in conjunction with the Autism Action Network (formerly A-CHAMP) to get our message out to decision makers on issues affecting the autism community. Autism Action Network has an online advocacy tool that allows you to quickly send an email message to the people that need to hear from us. (See end of post.)

Out kick-off action alert goes to Senator John McCain.

Now that the heat of the election has abated, please join us in thanking Senator John McCain for his leadership role during the campaign on vaccine safety and autism issues.

We have much to thank Senator McCain for:

His courageous statements concerning the role of mercury and vaccines as a cause of autism are unprecedented among presidential candidates; the numerous occasions where he discussed autism issues on the campaign trail were unparallel by other candidates, and his efforts to reach out to the autism community set a new standard for candidates in the future.

As a Senior United States Senator John McCain is still in a key position to help our community and fulfill his promises. And our needs in the autism community are such that we need friends and support in both parties to achieve our shared goals.

Please take action now by clicking on the link below to go to the website of the Autism Action Network (formerly A-CHAMP) where you can send an email directly to Senator McCain. And if you want, you can add comments of your own. It’s that easy. Click HERE. Thank you!

Oops - great idea, but I can' seem to add recipient name. Glitch?

This is just the kind of *partnering* Age of Autism needed -- and it's one more reason this site is fast becoming the collective, powerful *tour de force* within the biomedical community!!

Get Ready to Rummmmmmble! Or GRTR for short.

    This is outstanding news!

As a former Public Affairs/Communications Campaign manager, I have long felt that this is just the sort of tool that our community needs in order to empower the our collective voice.

I have many friends and family affected by autism. Some I have know for years, others I have developed relationships with recently through our shared experience. Few have become true activists because of the great demands autism has placed on their lives...and lets face it most of us activists are the Type A personalities of the community. That said almost everyone I know is willing to participate in a call-to-action. This WILL be a very powerful tool.

    Thank you Autism Action Network!
