Update: It seems some computers are cutting off the screen before you get to the "autism" listing. I saved the link to a word document so please try THIS.
Managing Editor's Note: Thank you to Angela Warner of Autism Salutes for making the discovery, putting together the timeline, and allow us to run her post. Yes, the DTaP vaccine information included autism in the list of possible side effects. For a while. Once "people" started writing and asking questions about it, the link to the site went into "under revision" mode. Fortunately, original pages always exist on the web. Here's Angela's post:
The Vaccine Healthcare Center’s Network (VHCN), a collaboration of the Department of Defense (DoD) and Center’s for Disease Control (CDC), decided on December 5, 2008 between 5:35pm and 6:21pm (EST), that the original VHCN webpage (now a cached version) listing autism as an adverse event associated with the DTaP vaccine needed some revision. Click here to see autism listed as a side effect of DTaP. It's right there between and hypersensitivity and demyelinating diseases. Click here to see the page now "under revision".
Following is the continuation of “Evidence of Harm”.
On December 4, 2008, David Kirby wrote “The Pentagon – A Voice of Reason on Vaccines and Autism? HERE Later that day I wrote “The Army Fighting Autism? The Department of Defense?” HERE.
Below is a time line of my day (Dec. 5th) regarding the page now “under revision”. I have put all of the events down in EST, as that is where “disappearing act” took place.
12:05pm - I talked to Friend #1 regarding the seriousness of this information. The VHCN page listing autism as an adverse event associated with DTaP was not under revision. "It" was up.
1:00pm - I talked to Friend #2. "It" was working on my end. “It” was working on her end. “It” was up.
5:15pm - I talked with Friend #2 again while drafting an email. "It" was up on my end as I was seriously contemplating putting the direct link in the email body. Friend #2 opened the page again during our discussion. “It” was up.
5:35pm – I sent the following email to Dr. S. Ward Casscells, Assistant Secretary of Defense, and to Major General Elder Granger, Deputy Director of TRICARE Management Activity (TMA).
Dear Dr. Casscells and General Granger, The below information is spreading like wildfire through the civilian and military communities. I would encourage you to read the articles at the following links ASAP. I am interested in your comment on these statements, "We have preliminary findings from one of our many on-going research studies that suggest a relationship between adverse events and multiple vaccinations exist. These findings will require validation, but heighten our concern for the current clinical practice of multiple vaccinations." And this, "However, our work over the past years has been humbling in relation to the knowledge gaps which the Institute of Medicine Reports has also highlighted."
Colonel Renata J. M. Engler, MD, Director of the Vaccine Healthcare Centers Article #1 http://www.autismsalutes.com/2008/12/pentagon-voice-of-reason-on-vaccines.html Article #2 http://www.autismsalutes.com/2008/12/army-fighting-autism-department-of.html I would also like to hear your input on what OSD Health Affairs is doing to implement the recommendations of Dr. Engler. I’ll look forward to hearing from you. Thank you and have a wonderful weekend.
Very Respectfully, Angela Warner – Air Force spouse and mom to four children (two with autism)
6:21pm – A comment goes up on the EOHarm listserv that “It” is down. The VHCN webpage referencing autism as an adverse event due to the DTaP vaccine is “under revision”.
Something smells rotten to me.
Why is this webpage “under revision”? What is going on?
The truth is out there, and the only way the truth might be heard is if hearings are called upon for both the DoD and the CDC. With 1 in every 67 children diagnosed with autism, our children account for more than a third of the population.
Does everyone realize this? Who will call the hearings? Who is up to the task?
Because the time has come. And we need the TRUTH! And NOW! Oh and since I've been writing this... the page refered to in the beginning is now dead. There is no more "under revision". It's gone. All of a sudden in more than one way.
Who is responsible for this? I DEMAND an answer!

Thank you for the site! My daughter is almost 5 mos old & hasn't received any vaccinations yet. I've been holding off while I learn more. And the more I learn, the less I want her to get any! I'm currently researching the DTaP vaccine, & without this site, I wouldn't have known about the link to autism. Thank you sooooo much! I'm bookmarking you.

this has made me sick to my stomach. would anyone give this vaccine to there child after seeing a "adverse effect" is autism? they act like autism is a cold that will go away. only after years of hard work does autism start to fade. thanks for sharing this with us.

My situation was referenced in Angela's piece on the DOD mandating Preschool children get the flu vaccine from age 6 months up or they will be expelled from the Preschool setting on base. It's been an uphill battle with the DOD (with no end in site) - no one seems to have any common sense (as I know I am not telling you all anything). I wonder if they will ever listen?
I have two documented notes from two different MD's stating egg allergies - do not give flu shot and it's still not enough.. I wonder who makes these decisions to vaccinate our children with all kids of stuff (including Thimersol) with no regard to the parent and pediatrician. Why does the DOD feel the need to take the decision out of our hands? Do they feel we are to stupid to make the decision? They feel the men and women serving are competent to serve – are they NOT competent to take care of their kids? Do they not trust us with our kids and if they don’t – why do they trust us serving on the battle field?
I am left to fight the US Air Force (of which my husband proudly serves and I proudly support) with people like Angela who care for the well being of all children and love our country. I am inspired by all of you who keeping standing up for children and fighting what sometimes seems like a battle that cannot be won (but it can). Thank you Angela and the other that are paying it forward to help mom's like me -find a way to protect my kids. Proud US Air Force Wife/Mother and Nurse.

I think many parents would be interested in the fact that SIDS is also listed as an adverse event. The picture gets clearer every day... When will they be held responsible?

Copied from the Dec 05 rev of package labelling for Tripedia***
"Adverse events reported during post-approval use of Tripedia vaccine include idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura, SIDS,
anaphylactic reaction, cellulitis, autism, convulsion/grand mal convulsion, encephalopathy, hypotonia, neuropathy, somnolence
and apnea. Events were included in this list because of the seriousness or frequency of reporting. Because these events are
reported voluntarily from a population of uncertain size, it is not always possible to reliably estimate their frequencies or to
establish a causal relationship to components of Tripedia vaccine.2"

http://www.vaccineshoppe.com/image.cfm?doc_id=5966&image_type=product_pdf
http://www.fda.gov/CBER/label/dtapave030701LB.pdf
the fda website of is an 01 version with no mention of autism
although the label change was dec05, i'm surprised this went unnoticed, this would require serious debate to put this in the package insert, sounds like is was required due to VAERs reports but they don't admit any causal association, still makes you take pause that the word AUTISM is in a vaccine PACKAGE INSERT (TRIPEDIA SANOFI AVENTIS)
My biggest question is what happened behind closed doors to force a labelling change as the company would not do this lightly, even though no causal assoc noted (without first spending millions in attorney fees)

Thank you for the link and for the version in Word format. I also could not see the entire page. But I really wanted a copy of the html page, so I tried making the text smaller, which worked, but the only way the "autism" listing would show is if I made the text too small to read.
Undaunted, I tried this: Choose "Save Page As" (under File menu) and at the drop-down menu, choose "Web Page-Complete". Then open the saved file which is called "search.html" with your browser and you should have the complete page. :)

I'm assuming the order to Bowdlerize the site began with a whining phonecall from Atlanta to D.C. before descending on the VHCN.
Thanks for your eagle eyes, Angela.

Here is the original page screen captured then divided into four parts, plus the SE13 page.
The SE part apparently stands for "systematic event" after vaccination(s).

There is another site that still has the warning of autism as a possible side effect. The link is: http://www.drugs.com/ppa/diphtheria-tetanus-toxoids-acellular-pertussis-vaccine-dtap-tdap.html
Scroll about half way down and look under the category of:Adverse Reactions. Below that look for sub-category: Tripedia.
I won't say it will be there tomorrow though.

Excellent find Angela!
Yes, when I went to the cached link using Firefox, it cuts off the info. But using IE and Maxthon Browsers, it is not cut off and AUTISM is seen there. Also thank you so much for also providing the Word doc of all this as well.
Just what in the heck are they up to? The timing of this going down is quite suspicious!
Posted by: CindyPDX | December 09, 2008 at 10:15 PM
didn't know where else to put this but in Canada they apparently just had a vaccination conference and the chair of public health policy, Dr. Kumanan Wilson (U. of Ottawa), actually announced that we should have some sort of vaccine compensation system. He said, "it seems unjust that we don't have one... as we're moving to more and more coersive-type policies and with more and more vaccines, I think it's really a need." WOW! I don't know whether to be happy or suspicious! I just emailed him and said that real studies on safety and studying simultaneous administration of vaccines and better reporting of adverse reactions would all be good, too. I let him know, as best as I could, that we parents are not stupid and uninformed. I bet the pharma creeps and Canadian Pediatric society are going nuts!
The article I'm referring to can be found at today's Calgary Herald (Opinion) or at the National Post.

Thanks Holly! Your link didnt work for me, but I just looked up mil-vax, searched for tripedia and there it was, the pdf, with the insert that does show Autism listed as a side effect....
Thanks Holly!

Holly,
I would love a copy of it. The link did not work for me. You can email me at
autismrr at gmail dot com
Thank you so very much! If you could send a link somehow other than through typepad that would be useful as well.
Thanks again :)

If you go to the link on the MILVAX page under Tri-pedia the link to the PDF for the Tripedia package insert is right there (click Tripedia). I downloaded it and can send it to whom would like it. (Angie?)

This is SO CRAPPY! Even the people I know that are still 'on the fence' about vaccines being anything BUT safe, the ones I still send info out, especially the latest news, and of course the link to this....THEY even are starting to BELIEVE what we have known for a long time....boy, this is the stupidest, most immature thing they could have done...it makes everything they say/post from now on STINK...and it hasnt even had time to rot yet!
I swear, they think that we must be complete idiots, I mean, otherwise, if they really felt that something was incorrect about the statement (which will for sure be the answer to the FOIA request) then the SMART thing and HONEST thing to do would have been to leave it on there, but post MORE info to explain what they 'meant'...even though we KNOW what they meant...SOMEONE was trying to tell the truth...and now they look SO FISHY, even the nd's are probably questioning the motives! ARGH!
When I saw this post here, I immediately went back to this post:
http://www.ageofautism.com/2008/08/back-to-school.html
Where in the comments Rachel posted a link to vaxserve with the tripedia insert, where it listed AUTISM as a known side effect of their dtap (tripedia) vaccine...and guess what, the link is GONE as well, and the insert to the dtap vaccine is totally different....
Does anyone have a hard copy of that one as well? I printed a copy and gave it to our doc, but I didnt keep a copy, just kept the link in my fav's and have cleared my cache since...I actually cleared my cache the other day, so I dont even have a hard copy of this debacle either...if anyone can send me one I would appreciate it! I would pay for postage...
Furious, and READY FOR ACTION AND ANSWERS!

What will more than likely happen with the FOIA information, unfortunately, will be that a CDC or pHARMa cronie will be the one to have asked them to pull the site. The reason being, they will say, is that it was "spreading disinformation that could be potentially harmful to the Sacred and Holy Vaccine God."
Ugh, these people sicken me.
You people, however, do NOT sicken me. I agree 100% with Kelli; AoA ROCKS!!
Posted by: Craig Willoughby | December 09, 2008 at 05:14 PM
Well, I know EOH is moderated by the gov't- that is why I asked when the issue was first posted there.
Also, I have a tracker on my Myspace page and a few days ago someone from the CDC in Atlanta looked at my page. No kidding. Not sure why or who exactly it was. But, I thought it was interesting.
Posted by: Christine Heeren | December 09, 2008 at 04:47 PM
Yeh, that is interesting - Friend #1 is CST too. Friend #2 is on the east coast. It must be a computer issue as suggested - if you loaded it then it's going to go back to what was pulled before.
So Julie's information helps us narrow it down a bit more. Thanks Julie.
As usual Ben's Dad comes up with a zinger of an idea! I think a FOIA is an excellent way to go - consider it done.
Posted by: Angela Warner | December 09, 2008 at 04:42 PM
I need to correct myself. It was 3pm CST, not 1pm CST that I went to the link and the page said "revised". I was looking at a response to my email coming from the west coast. Sorry!!!!!
