So now we're having a national debate, courtesy of Mayor Bloomberg, over super-sized sugary drinks and obesity. Fine, but what about a super-sized vaccine schedule and its effects on diabetes and obesity, for starters?

The News From India: Mercury Means Autism.

Indian_clinicEditor's Note: We received and posted this comment on David Kirby's recent article, but we want to make sure everyone sees it. Cherry Sperlin Misra, in India, offers a real-time insight into the rise of mercury-containing vaccines, other mercury sources, and autism. This is consistent with an interview I did last year with a chiropractic couple from the United States who volunteered in India and watched the very same thing. (HERE.) -- Dan Olmsted
--
One thing that this autism epidemic should have taught us is to keep an open mind, unlike some people we know! But having said that, what I have personally seen with my own eyes tells me that we are looking at mercury, well, certainly in India. When many new doses of Hib and Hep B came into the schedule of the private doctors in India (the govt has a different schedule), just 3 years later I began to see 4-5 kids consistently every year with symptoms from the mercury /autism list and occasionally a fully autistic child.

After a few years I began to have 7 or 8 each year and I noticed that delayed speech was becoming more common even in girls. I thought I must be imagining the increase -- and then last year I discovered that somewhere between 03 and 07 the pediatric association had again changed the schedule. From 7 mercury vaccines by 6 months they had gone to 8 or 9 by three and a half months. Also, some of the obstetricians had begun giving the mothers three and even 4 tetanus toxoids during pregnancy rather than one or two as it had been earlier (50 mcg ethylmercury in each).

Through all of this I and other people who had autistic kids in their schools noticed a preponderance of Bengalis, a community of Indians who often eat fish twice a day, 7 days a week. Actually Bengalis are not a high percentage of Delhi's population, but they were providing most of the fully autistic kids. Later I discovered another factor -- autism would be more common in kids who had been vaccinated at government clinics, which use only vaccines from Serum Institute of India. This company puts 25 mcg ethylmercury into all their pediatric doses. (Some others use 12.5 and there is one type of Hep B with no mercury.)

Yesterday, I spoke to a friend who has a nursery school in another part of Delhi and her experience is just the same as mine. She, like me has 2 autistic kids in a school of just 50 kids -- and many others who show the usual speech delay/clumsiness/lack of interest in other kids syndrome. I am now of the opinion that we probably have just not recognised all the sources of mercury and we still don't know what is the effect of low doses of mercury at certain ages -- for example at 6 months gestation or day of birth. I doubt if we know, for example if a Bengali mother, with her own body full of mercury, might give birth to an autistic child even if she stopped fish during pregnancy.

I also notice that we do not hear in India about autistic kids having these terrible bowel problems (though perhaps some do have and I have not heard about it). This may be due to a different timing of the MMR and/or combining it with mercury laden vaccines.
I also notice, when I visit the US that almost no one seems to be avoiding anything but perhaps tuna. I was shocked to learn that my daughter had been told that she could have one can of tuna per week during pregnancy. (I had been under the impression that it was one can in the whole pregnancy!)

While, believing in keeping an open mind, I fear that talk of many kinds of autism could be playing into the hands of those whose chief motive is to delay exposure of the truth. The idea that autism is "multifactorial" could keep us all on the research carousel for plenty long years, much to the glee of certain forces.

didn't know where else to put this but I just finished some lengthy emails to Red Cross and PLAN international (we sponsor a foster kid through them). I asked them about their thoughts on thimerosal-containing vaccines being sent to these vulnerable, developing countries and their children. And the fact that we are seeing a lot more immigrant children with autism ADHD. Can't wait to hear a response. I'm going to call, too, just in case I don't hear or don't get a thorough response-will keep you posted.

I just talked to my good friend Carol today. She's the one who first made me question vaccines-although I was too afraid and "beat-up" after dealing with a colicky baby to go against the recommended vaccine schedule with my first baby. (thankfully she seems to be o.k.). Anyways, her relative just went for her flu shot and sure enough her arm is now experiencing so much pain she is on serious pain killers( 3 weeks post-vaccine) and two of her fingers on that (inoculated) arm are numb. She saw a doctor who promptly said that he thought it was a result of the vaccine and that it might get worse. He's referred her to a neurologist. When will this crap end??

Autism is not soley genetic. It is the result of cumulative, multi-generational exposure of "Better living through Chemistry." I'm 41 yrs. and am in the generation that was raised with all sorts of food additives, my parents were raised in the aftermath of WW2 when all those Chemists needed something to do, and so the major industrial machines took off - polluting with all kinds of things from PCBs to Chlorines to Dioxins... not to say anything of the herbicides/pesticides and growth-hormone used in the food chain over this time. All these low-level, multi-chemical exposures can really add up! So many have been shown to flip the genetic switches, but is that a fault of the gene itself or of the toxicity that has impacted it? My son is seeing a DAN! doctor now, and we are doing a homeopathing "cleanse" which is much gentler to the body than a chelation, but has the same overall affect - detox the body of heavy metals. The results and improvements are startling! And I too have had mecury fillings in my teeth (removed approx. 9 years BEFORE my son was born), and have been a big fish eater... I haven't had myself tested yet, but plan on asking next time I go in... just to see if my "metal makeup" would be such that it could have impacted my child.

To the parents on this post - KUDOS to each of you! The sheer volume of our persistent demands for attention/action WILL be heard! We must keep the faith. We as parents know our children better than ANYONE else - and most certainly better than any physician who spends roughly 75 minutes a YEAR(alloting roughly 15-20 mins per visit to the pediatrician over 3-4 visits a year) with our kids. I personally am tired of being dismissed by the medical profession about what's good for my child. I insisted on several tests for my kids, and - though my Ped thought I was crazy - they came back positive... I was RIGHT and she was WRONG. So let's just say there has been a distinct "shift of power" between us... I no longer "revere" her as the all-knowing, and she no longer looks at me as a complacent, accommodating, easy-going mom.

To Dr. Pantes - Unless you have direct experience with autistic people and have throughly investigated and worked with the DAN! protocol, please stop parroting the party - line for industry. You cannot possibly know how all the components of vaccines impact the body - and the mecury preservative is only one of the troublesome factors to be considered in that issue. The other is the "inactive" cells themselves and the over stimulation of the childs immune system. In the natural environment, a person wouldn't be hit with 7 different diseases at one time... but that's what the vaccine schedule has us doing to our children.

A growing drumbeat is being heard in the distance... like approaching thunder. It is all of us - demanding that the causes for these conditions be identified, and that credibility be given to the "alternative" treatments that have been proven effective in helping our children.

The time is coming... the time is NOW...

Joe- you underestimate these people. I have heard many parents who have vaccine-damaged children and are now advocating regarding this problem. These would include: scientists (yes, PhD scientists), lawyers, MBA's, statisticians and yes, even parents who just have good common sense. The key to finding answers to any problem lies in a willingness to explore all possibilities. One could be a closed-minded PhD and not do any good for humanity. I'm not saying this is you, but scrutiny is needed regarding the vaccine agenda.
I would say,
Vaccines cause autism. The proof is there. Autism is an as yet unknown form of possible genetic (in the sense that mercury is mutagenic) and mostly environmental disorder. Just be patient and give it time; the deception will be unraveled. Meanwhile, work with your political leaders to ensure more un-biased research is done and more help for families is available.

while travelling abroad in countries and villages there that had little of this vaccination push...land locked countries like nepal esp...i noticed almost an absence of autism epidemic...then i did a bit of research into the incidence of autism in various places around the world and found the greater numbers everywhere have a couple of things in common, countries with vaccination schedules, and industrially developed first world countries have the highest incidence...
i wonder if anyone can point me to a succinct study done by more scientific minds which i could further peruse...
my son began to have seizures after his first round at two months and he has autism. i haven't let them give him a single vaccination for anything since...but i have had doctors refuse to take him as patient, parents look down their noses at me and even my own mother thinks i'm a bit supersticious...i would love to refer some folk to a couple of sources to enlighten them...
thanks

great info, Cherry. I work with kids- and since I work as a substitute educational assistant in elementary and junior high schools I see a real variety of children. I have really noticed the numbers of kids with autism getting higher in general a few years ago and I also started to notice more ESL (english as second language) children WITH severe ADHD or autism (or whatever the heck it is). It is really hard to figure out what is an ESL issue and what is a learning or behavioural issue. Some of these kids are in the regular classrooms while it takes time to become obvious that there is something amiss besides the language issue. At first I just thought to myself, "well, yeah, since a large city is a multicultural environment, I guess of course there's going to be more ESL kids with problems too"-but now with information such as yours and reports that thimerosal is still given to children in some other countries I'm realizing that what I'm seeing may be a part of a "second wave." I am going to research more about it here in Calgary and help increase awareness. Thanks.

Doc Pantes:

Vaccines CAN AND do cause autism. The proof is there. Autism is an as yet unknown form of A COMBINATION OF genetic SUSCEPTIBILITY AND ENVIRONMENTAL INSULT disorder. Just be patient and give it time; the genetics AND ENVIRONMENTAL COMBINATION will be unraveled. Meanwhile, work with your political leaders to ensure more research is done ON VACCINES, MERCURY AND ENVIRONMENTAL INSULT, and THAT more help for families is available.

Please just open your mind, research the issue on your own as if you had never learned vaccines are like water, and tell us then what you think.

Joe Pantes--

I sense that you may be a retired or soon-to-be-retired physician (or maybe Doc of Philosophy, who knows?) who just came across this site and felt the need to express your long-held views. Or you're just a lurker having a bit of fun, but I'll respond as though you're sincere.

After nearly 100 years of wild gene chase research by all the genomic Wiley Coyotes out there, we're sick of watching our kids continue to be hit by anvils and blown up with ACME TNT as we "sit tight" waiting for industry-funded science to concede responsibility for the epidemic. It's not going to happen and they're never going to catch that Road Runner gene because that direct causal gene or set of genes doesn't exist. Intead you have genetic susceptibility to efflux, immune or mitochondrial weaknesses that facilitate immune collapse and brain damage by mercury and other environmental facilitators. The jury is so close to being in on this and it matches so closely with what so many parents and advocate physicians have witnessed that we'd be safe in making an early call on this: it's vaccines and probably mercury (mostly ethyl but methly doesn't help)-- we're just not sure what the precise mechanism is.

I'm sure you're an "increased recognition" type. But there simply wasn't a big enough population of mentally ill people one hundred fifty years ago (.2 per 1000) or even one hundred years ago (1.2 in 1000) within which to "hide" today's rate (1 in 67) of autism, even if schizophrenia, alcoholism and generalized brain damage had never existed to fill out those earlier stats. Autism simply has increased, end of story.

Like others here, autism doesn't run in my extended family-- never has-- another reason that all this "sit tight and wait for the science" malarky is a big bore. We're the horses' mouths. I have one uncle who was suspiciously brilliant and facile at mathemathics, but I just attended his memorial service-- along with 500 devoted friends, aquaintances and family members. Not exactly the social profile of an aspie. But his son, my first cousin can't excrete iron properly and it builds up. That's an efflux-like disorder which is technically similar to the inability to excrete mercury which my son displays-- only my cousin is in his forties and only had 3 vaccinations as a child and my son had 24 before 2. I'd say that was a maximumization of what might otherwise have been a subtle systemic weakness. My son's heavy metal challenge tests-- showing shocking amounts of mercury-- are the proof of the principle.

So I recommend that you sit tight and watch over the next few years as the house of cards which orthodox vaccine science has erected tumbles and falls.

Thanks to this author for bringing confirmation from afar. Why there aren't more reports like this, I'll never know but perhaps we'll be hearing more and more.

I also believe that keeping thimerosal in vaccines after 2000 was an attempt to prevent the epidemic from dropping down to zero again, thus proving that it had been e-hg all along.

I also agree that the multifactoral thing is mostly misused. From now on, I'm going to be firm in referring only to multi-facilitators when discussing things that exacerbate autism because I tend to believe the causes are just a few specific things which all have virtually the same effects on the brain.

Mercury, Depakote, some pesticide that I forget the name of and the birth drug that keeps getting mentioned in Vaccine Court may be in this category, though the pesticide and the birth drug may also simply be "facilitators"-- things which make it easier for mercury to get to the brain or easier for mercury to target certain areas of the brain and ravage immunity.

As for viruses, I'm not sure how this all fits in. One of the first cases that Kanner studied was apparently "cured" of his autism when taking gold salts for some kind of rheumatic condition which was believed at the time to be caused by a virus. Does mercury allow viruses into the brain, mimic the effects of viruses or work in tandem with wild or (now, mostly) vaccine viruses? That's the big mystery.

Joseph, are you 100% sure that vaccines do not cause autism? Can you quote one, just one, study that completely exhonerates vaccines as the culprit? No, you can't. You can say that those studies (studies so questionable that even the CDC says they are worthless) fail to find a connection. That isn't the same as there being none.

Oh, and you can't have a genetic epidemic. Genetics have a part to play in this epidemic, but they are not the sole cause. Time to focus on what the real culprit is and quit deifying the vaccine initiative and listen to what thousands upon thousands of parents are telling you instead of condescending and ignoring them.

To Dr. Pantes-
If autism is purely a genetic disorder, then why has it never appeared in our family before? Why is everyone else in both our families--mine and my husband's--very social and verbal? We are as NT as can be, as far as I can tell. And to me, it's just far too much of a coincidence that this "genetic disorder" as you term it began to appear in the mid-20th century just as environmental mercury exposure was increasing.

My son wasn't immunized because of his gluten-induced colic at birth which I figured out through an elimination diet while breastfeeding. My doctor was supportive that I didn't think vaccinating him would be the right thing...and I'm so greatful for this decision.
At 2.5 years, he started with sleeping problems, OCD, toe-walking, spinning...you get the picture. My mom thought it was his behavior/my parenting skills and still doesn't support my....back on topic.
I brought him to a DAN! doctor first and he's recovered.

Reviewing his labs, he has a lot of mercury in him. HOW???? Where did it come from??? Vaccines would have put him into a non-verbal unresponsive situation if I didn't listen to my gut. Sitting back and looking at the causes - corrupted, adulterated foods, mattress that's filled with chemicals, and MY TEETH.

It's not just the vaccines, we all know that. It's the cummulative effect of it all, including the mercury. Mercury probably causes Multiple Sclerosis, too.

Hey - let's join forces with the enlightened, recovered MS victims and have a bigger voice!

So, How many millions/billions of dollars has been raised (Jerry's kids) to find the cures/causes, and the parents have figured this out?

God Bless the Internet!

How do we get stories like this to get more attention?...and the research dollars to follow?

I was happy to see the fish connection brought up here. For some absurd reason, the CDC relies on studies conducted in Denmark and Switzerland to debunk the vaccine/autism connection in the United States (even though lifestyles are completely different), citing that thimerosal was removed from vaccines, yet the rates of incident still increased. Yet, In Switzerland - pregnant mothers (to this day) are not told by their doctors to avoid fish of any kind - and it makes up a good portion of their weekly diet. I wouldn't be surprised if Denmark followed similar policy. I don't see how you can determine what is what in such muddy waters. We have a huge mess on our hands, no doubt.
