From the Editor: Making waves

David Kirby's next book, "Death at Sea World," isn't out till July but already there are two petitions against it. You know, don't buy it, don't read it, don't believe it. Kinda familiar, eh?

The Republican Party is for the very wealthy. Everything they do is to take from the middle class and give to the very rich. If you make fewer than 250k these people
are not working for you.
I was in a accident two months ago my emergency bill was $12,000. After they received my Medicare card my bill was $2000. (Six times less). That’s what the Americans pay for people who don’t have insurance. The person without insurance gets a bill six times more ,and if they can’t pay, the Government does. A win/win for the hospital.
Let Me Here Your Thoughts. By TJMoran

I sent Rachel Maddow an email suggesting she interview Andrew Wakefield. What could it hurt? Undoubtedly she would eviscerate him with her penetrating questions and rebuttals and he would be revealed as a charlatan for all to see, right?

I guess not so much.

Enjoy your million dollar apartment, Rachel.

Rachel Maddow is extremely bright and for the most part very accurate in her views. However, she is also extremely young and limited in life's experiences, having mostly been involved with academia and intellectual rather than hands-on pursuits. I would suggest she live, as we have, in the border state of Arizona for 15 years (with time spent also in Texas and New Mexico). Perhaps then, she would not find the anger and reaction abount what is happening vis-a-vis illegal immigration and drug cartels so "draconian". Getting shot and murdered on one's own property and having it used as a garbage dump and getting up every day knowing a stranger will be on your property and suddenly having to carry firearms when for generations one didn't even lock one's doors----causes that law of physics to kick into effect----the equal and opposite reaction---thing? She should get out of New York and it's extraordinarily provincial mind-set and experience what life is really like. Perhaps she should chat with Sandra Day O'Conner---she might learn something from her, also. Surely, Miss Maddow would not think of her as some kind of "draconian" racist extremist.

I agree with virtually all Rachel's views. However, her girlie, giggly, glee at bashing persons with other views is a turnoff...both literally and figuratively.
Please grow up, Rachel!!

Hello Arianna,

I have enjoyed the indepth reporting that you and Rachel have booth done over the last few years. Your professional manner and responses I feel helps keep us informed regarding all the back handed activities of the RNC.
There is however one major person I feel who has been given a free ride when it comes to reporting her on the news. That person is Sarah Palin. I wish that with all the news investigators at your disposal why there is not a much more detailed back ground check about her and her past as govenor and now as she claims to be a Christian women. I feel much more needs to be revealed about her past and call her on it. Time for her to step up to the plate and disclose the true Sarah. Love to see Rachel also take her on. Thank you for assistance hope see it in the future.

After listening to Rachel's show off and on for a year, along with following other MSNBC, CNN, and Fox Network broadcasts, I am sorry to say that Rachel has resorted to bashing conservatives just as Fox and others bash liberals. Is "bashing" now the accepted journalistic style? We have to find a better way to stand for what we believe in than by putting down others for their beliefs. When will this madness ever end?

"I know of nobody who is purely Autistic or purely neurotypical. Even God had some Autistic moments, which is why the planets all spin." ~ Jerry Newport

I have followed the research of autism since 1996, due to dealing with a family members problems in this area, and cannot but conclude that a large protion of autistics have been suffering from enviromental and immune problems that cause or greatly intensify their problems. I am all for the more liberal elements of those interested in the causes of autism to be more open minded in regard to gastro intestinal issues, diets, vaccines, and mercury issues, but my observations causes me to believe that it is mainly a portion of the liberal community that is not open to giving these matters a scientific hearing. It is amazingly odd to me that this is so. The orthodoxy of opposition resides on the left pertaining to what this site is advocating.I hope you can change this.

Its funny, just yesterday my wife was suggesting sending something to Rachel Maddow herself on autism, and we were discussing what type of message would hit home. She is clearly a rising media star, and was quoted twice in one day on Kos last week - for appearing in pajamas to defend pajama bloggers against Palinisms, and for articulating the case for showing Lieberman the door. Earlier she hit on the Palin/fruit fly research/autism gaff. Her no BS intelligent delivery requires an equally direct and clear message. Huffington has Monday's show, but getting positive time on any of Maddow's shows would be a huge plus in bringing in legions of support from a segment we desperately need behind us. Heck, if the progressive liberals won't support us, who will?

New Autism Tragedy in Somali community. Connect that with the pending bailout for the Autism community. Also connected with how will the financial crisis effect parents with Autism. As the focus goes on to bailout everyone else. What happens to people like myself and Kim S. husband who have lost their jobs in the last couple of weeks. The perfect storm would be have Paul offit, Jenny, and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Autism Autism Autism
