THE CEDILLO FAMILY DESERVES OUR SUPPORT
The Cedillo family needs our support following an article about their daughter Michelle that is in the Yuma Sun.
The article begins: This is the story laid out in Cedillo v. Secretary of Health and Human Services, which was chosen as a test case from those 4,900. It is the story of Michelle Cedillo, a 13-year-old Yuma girl whose case has become a landmark in the question of what causes autism.
Please read the full article (HERE) and leave a comment on the Yuma Sun site to set ignorant readers straight, won't you? Speaking of ignorant readers, here's a presumptuous comment currently there from someone calling himself "Slimething."
I agree fully with yumasand. I also have an autistic child and his symptoms did not begin abruptly after any vaccination. I feel for all those affected but there is no link between vaccination and autism. Such belief arises from "correlation bias", a logical flaw. Hyperactivity has been blamed on red M&M, horniness on green M&Ms, etc. It's natural to associate a bad or good effect with a recollection of something unusual that occured at approximately the same time. That's why coaches on a winning streak will wear the same clothes to every game.
I am sorry for the Cedillo family but, no, vaccinations were not the cause of the child's autism.

Ha ha! That's just rich. Maybe a better analogy is in order.

Theresa, we never signed up for this life. We never knew that we would need an inexhaustable supply of reserves to go through this on our own. A mere human being is incapable of even going through a week of this, and you have been going on for several years now. It is evident from your countenance that you have tapped into the goodness of the Universe to support you through this ordeal. Thank you for being a shining example of grace, beauty, and dignity.
All of you out there in the media fighting for us, you are all made of "sterner stuff" (of the William Shakespeare kind) and for that, we are immensely grateful. Thank you.

Thank you to everyone who took the time out of your day (I know how busy our days are!) to comment on our local newspaper website.
Your comments have given us renewed strength and hope. We love you all...
Theresa, Mike and Michelle Cedillo

Wow...Slimething's blithering drivel smacks eerily of AutismNewsBeat/HeraldBlog/MidwestDad (for those of you not familiar with HuffPo, his real name is Ken Reibel). Typical of his bullying and cowardice.
