From Lenny's letter to his 2100+ members:
Hello List Members,
Monday marks the third anniversary of this Environment of Harm list.
I am sad to report that this list and the exchange of information it
provides the community is needed now more than ever, despite every
intent to put this list out of business. Yes, it was my deepest hope
three years ago that the proverbial dirty-vaccine cat and autism mouse
would be out of the bag by now and that most of our time and efforts
would be towards treatment and treatment research.
The EOHarm list now over 2100 members strong; having completed a
breathtaking near 80,000 messages to one another, whew!
This list is sponsored by the Schafer Autism Report, which has a
20,000 readership and is the source of about half of the members who
subscribe here.
In the event you never heard of it, the home page for
the Report is http://www.sarnet.org It is a daily newsletter digest
of autism news and information. It is 100% support by reader donations.
I believe that the readership of both this list, and the Report is a
large as it is, absent any internet marketing, because we are not
beholden to any advertisers, or big contributors, but by individual
readers who have come to trust what we have to say.
The agenda here is simple: we want the truth and justice for all our
children who have been damaged by vaccines, by any environmental
toxins and by all the disinformers at the CDC, pharma and others.

Deborah,
Rest assured, all of the work in our community is instrumental in the overall "push" for forward movement.
It's like Kent said in his recent piece – And the Wall Came Down – it’s every one of us working on our “slice of the pie” that is helping to chip away at the wall.
Most times, none of us really knows what others are doing just because of the nature of the situation. It’s just absolutely impossible cuz there’s so many of us!
But, just because that is the case, it doesn’t negate what any ONE of us is doing.
Granted, there are some who are in the “spotlight” due to the nature of their gifts but most of us are not.
Most of the “stuff” I work on, only a handful of close friends/colleagues ever know about because of the specific issues/angles I work on.
And yeah, sometimes it gets really frustrating cuz I feel “isolated” most of the time and it’s not fun.
But, it’s what I have to do to be “successful” in producing forward movement in regards to my little "slice of the pie."
Bottom Line: What you're doing is important -- it's your unique contribution for our kids and our community :-)
Hope this helps!

Deborah,
Thank you for the link to your Yahoo group; I think it's so important that we all continue to learn, work, and educate others together. Somehow, I'd missed knowing about the autism and vaccinations group all this while, but I continue to educate myself as much as possible.
We're all in this boat together, but some of you, for sure, have been pulling it along for years!

I, for one, have benefited greatly from Deb's dedication to the issue of vaccination informed choice. I know how over the years it has taken its toll and have always admired your intelligence and steadfast commitment to the cause. Thank you, Deb, from the bottom of my heart.
All the best,
Sandy
PS We have been involved in this together for all those 7.5 years. I'm crazy enough to have actually first become involved in the 1980s.

I am curious why no one else gets this kind of recognition. Sandy Gottstein (Mintz) has been at this for as long as my son has been diagnosed (7.5 years) and what about Barbra Loe Fisher who has taken her life and her personal experiences and led the way in vaccine reform since 1982. And myself, I have had my group on Yahoo (http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/autism_and_vaccinations) for the past seven years.
Granted Lenny Shaffer's group is very interactive and the aforementioned groups (my own included) is more informational with far less in-fighting (and far less drama; which many of us don't appreciate) I don't think its right that one group/person gets singled out for doing something that so many have been doing LONG before the Evidence of Harm (the original name) group on yahoo has. Especially when in many instances the others are getting the news out there faster than Lenny does. We all work very hard informing others of the latest breaking news. To turn the spotlight on one individual is not fair for all the work everyone else has done.

Thanks Lenny.
Also- big thanks to David Kirby who inspired the group with his book, "Evidence of Harm".
It has truly been a team effort.
